His eyes were flicking around the creepateria, looking over the designs as a whole and wondering. He couldn't help it. The designer in him was almost screaming to make some changes. If he had known that they were going to design a room, he would have offered his services! Not to say that they didn't do a good job... but he always could see the 'something better' in pretty much anything. Rubbing his chin, he couldn't help wishing he had his abyssberry to snap some pictures and keep it as a source of reference. Never hurt, right? The touch of Carry's hand made his thoughts snap back to the present and he looked down to see what she was doing. Ah... a wrinkle. She was such a dear for looking out for him and he took up her hand and kissed the back of it in thanks for what she did. Honestly, why she had picked him was beyond his scope of understanding, but he was glad she had.

"I haven't eaten yet, no. So food sounds like a good idea." He had noticed that her face looked a bit redder than usual and he moved on instinct; placing the back of his hand to her forehead and checking her temp. "Are you well, my dear? This place too hot for you? Let's get you something to drink to cool you off." Like he'd let anything bad happy to Carry. Luka would never forgive him.. and he wouldn't be able to forgive himself either. "I hope they have a selection of things to drink. A menu or something, perhaps."

The walk to the party had settled into a comfortable silence. Occasionally Riley had turned to look behind her, wondering just what exactly was taking the rest of them so long. When they arrived at the party, and still there was no sign of them, she was glad she hadn't insisted they waited. Especially if they were going to wait for Barth.. they might arrive when the last song played. Maybe.

Riley finally released the deathgrip with which she had been clutching her black rose bouquet to her chest with, and them them fall safely to her side as they entered. She surveyed the room, adorned in colored paper strips and balloons, and gave Malodore a wary glance. Her arm, which was crooked underneath it's arm, tensed slightly as she pulled herself closer.

If this is anything like the last few gatherings that this school has hosted, I refuse to eat or drink anything. Her grip was both possessive, and also held just the slightest sense of desperation - her eyes matched this tone, as they silently asked Malodore to protect her this time around.

She caught sight of a few students, most of whom she could recognize. Carthusia was the first to catch her eye, and it was nice to see she and her date had dressed up for the event as well. At least they would be in good company. She waited to catch the fellow demon's eye, before giving her a brief wave in greeting from across the room.

Waiting outside, Jericho shifted in place as he peeked into the room that the party was being hosted. He was somewhat dressed for the occasion... using a part of what Sarias had ended up putting together for him in the etiquette class. It felt really weird wearing it, and he wasn't all too happy it either.

There only seemed to be a handful of others here already, though they were steadily trickling in. Spotting Riley with Malodore, he waved to the two lightly, cracking a smile. The Mindflayer looked rather nice tonight, and he was rather oblivious to all the drama involving that particular couple. It was pretty recent and he hadn't been notified of any of it.

As he stood there, waiting for Lizzy, he brushed his hand against his pocket where his DS was stored. The dragon may not have been looking forward to the dance portion of the night, but there would at least be some free food and he'd have a fair amount of time to just sit around and play some Pokeman.

"That might be wise," Malodore said with an open-beaked smile. "Did I tell you that Luce drank the punch at one such gathering and ended up hallucinating? Obviously I don't know what she saw, but as the other students reported pink elephants... well." It shrugged.

This was a completely different affair. It peered around with interest, squeezing Riley's arm lightly. "I will admit I am not highly educated in social graces... but this doesn't seem quite as exalted as your demon affair."

Knowing how hard Rain had worked on the party, Shine hoped so too. It would surely make her really happy if everyone had a great time! She wanted to tell her how she'd heard a lot of their classmates making plans to attend, but her mind went blank when Rain took her hand to offer her a gift.

Something for her?! She stared at the Scarentine card, read it four times, and began to sniffle. Nobody had ever given her a Scarentine's Day card before - especially not one this kind! She rummaged through her candy-pouch for the perfect gift to give her in return, producing a little candy heart, which she held out in one cupped hand. Despite the fact that it was candy, her hand wasn't the cleanest of places, and there were bits chipped off of the side, and the presenter of the little candy piece was still sniffling, so it didn't look particularly edible. The sentiment ("Brains? XOXO," in this case) still remained, however.

"Happy Scarentine's, Rain. I love you more than candy!" True, she hadn't said more than brains, but it was probably debatable which she favored more anyway.

Riley knew exactly what gathering Malodore was speaking of, and she remembered the pink elephants all too well. She quirked a brow in amusement. I was at the event as well. I'm surprised, we never met there. It was kind of.. she hated to think it, but, cute, that they had both attended an event, before knowing one another.

And then something struck her, rather suddenly. A shock of red. Wait a minute- had they walked past Jericho outside, without realizing it? She slid her hand out from under his arm, only to entangle her fingers with his, and gestured towards the door.

Come outside with me for a moment? I think Jericho was out there, and I believe I didn't realize it until just now.

She found it hard to believe that she had simply walked past her friend without noticing him, and tried to remember exactly what it was she was doing that had caught her attention so fully. All she could remember was that she had been looking at Malodore. And, well, perhaps she had been a little fondly distracted. She scolded herself silently for her mistake, and peered out the door to discover that she'd been right.

Jericho! What are you doing out here? I'm pretty sure the party's inside. Her eyes narrowed at his lack of a date. This did not bode well..

Not long after the two had disappeared into the room, Riley had come back out to speak with Jericho. He looked as if he was going to say something, but she had already interjected with the question of what he was doing outside. She looked a little displeased...

"I'm waiting for Lizzy," he answered while shifting in place, "We were going to meet out here first."

With any luck she wouldn't actually ask him for a dance. Even though they were planning on gaming, it still felt awkward for him to be considering this a 'date'.

"You look really nice," he offered with a grin, hoping to shift the topic a little.

"Of course." Malodore's curiosity was piqued - it hadn't seen the dragon for any real length of time after the Christmas Town trip. Except for during the Icky Stix.... intervention... but really it preferred not to think about that entire evening too closely, even now.

"Buonasera, Jericho," it said with a friendly nod. It really did appreciate the dragon's assistance during the whole Icky Stix incident, though it didn't really want to bring that up right now. But it was surprised - in a good way - at its choice of date. "Lizzy? She is a charming creature. She delivered excellent critique of my literature essay," it said, approvingly. Malodore approved of nothing more than good, clear thinking.

Riley saw right through Jericho's attempt, and her eyes remained narrowed on him. Jericho, she scolded gently. That isn't very gentlemanly. You should have picked her up at her dorm and escorted her here yourself. What was she going to do with this boil? She only hoped Lizzy was the kind of ghoul who didn't need such shows of gallantry. She doubted it.

Nevertheless, she finally let his compliment sink in, and her eyes crescented in lieu of a smile. Thank you, though. She responded. You look nice, too. I'm glad you dressed up a bit, I was worried you'd come here in a t-shirt, and I would have to send you packing right back to your dorm. Her eyes twinkled mischievously, and her finger rose to point at him. You know I'd do it, too.

She turned back to Malodore, slipping her hand back under it's arm. You know Lizzy? I'm afraid I know very little of her. I had assumed Jericho was coming to the dance with Amrita, actually.. She turned her eyes back to Jericho. What happened there?

There was a smug grin on the Siren's face as he entered the party. His outfit was ment to confuse, to make them question. Why did he bother? Why not? He technically could dress however he wanted. Tux or dress. Sure coming in a royal blue dress edged with feathers that matched his hair and complimented his natural stripped wings, the siren felt he looked absolutely fabulous. A hair toss here, a hair toss there... He was sure to catch an eye or two. Maybe three. Some students had three eyes but that was fine. He wasn't about to judge anyone who had more then him or less then him. They could all admire his fabulous siren tail feathers all the same.

Riley's arrival with Malordore had an immediate reaction on the siren. Feather fluffed, Earwings perked, and pearly white teeth were exposed in a smile that could break a face. They were back together! But, wait, the dance floor was that way where were they goi- oohhh. Outside.
"Now don't you move fast Tentacle face." A sly smile could be seen as the siren did his best sashay to where he thought he spied some punch. Blue eyes narrowed. "Can we expect no pink elephants this time?" His question was directed at the student council members, recalling his...experiences in the past.

"Hey Mal, you're looking pretty good yourself," he greeted the Plague Doctor before looking back at Riley. He didn't know Lizzy too well himself but he did help her out at the game store about a week back. She seemed pretty cool over all, anyway.

In a way, Jericho was also glad he put up with this outfit. It would have been a hassle to be herded back to his room by the Mindflayer just so he'd be wearing something 'nicer'. Though, that didn't stop him from chuckling at the thought of it.

"Amrita already had a date... she's with.. ah.. Charlie," he said, taking a moment to recall the name. The dragon didn't know the guy really, "So she asked if I could take Lizzy instead basically."

"Grazie," the plague doctor replied, pleased. It had fluffed up the cravat in what it hoped was an acceptable fashion! "And yes, I know Lizzy. We were paired in literature class... though I'm sure you wouldn't have noticed. You were rather busy," it said, tilting its head towards Riley in a mischievous fashion. Rather busy nearly declaring war on Calder. And yet he'd been in her room and there had been talk of doing his hair?

The ways of mindflayers were truly mysterious.

"What does one do at a dance? Besides... dance?" Malodore peered around. "One postures for others in the name of social advancement?" Jericho didn't quite seem the type.

Lizzy had taken some time to do up her hair and put on her dress; during the parties back home, her mother would be there to help her get ready and it was rather... Different trying to do it herself. For example, clipping on a hat is easier when you can actually see the top of your head! By the time she was ready, she couldn't help but be thankful for the fact that her "date" was not the gentlemanly, wait-at-the-dorms type... After all, she would hate to keep him waiting!

Making her way to the cafeteria with a handbag (a gift, a card and a DS sitting inside), she could see that there were already students gathered both inside and outside of the area. When she spotted Jericho, however, she looked a little surprised, almost as if she had expected the dragon to arrive later than her. Still, it proved that maybe he was still rather gentlemanly. Just in his own way.

"Evening Jericho. Interesting outfit you have on!" She smiled with an approving sort of nod as she neared the boil; she wasn't expecting him to dress up either. He's just full of surprises! Then, she turned her attention to Riley and Malodore; she had heard rumors of them being a pair, and now, it seemed to her like it's a rumor no longer. Dipping her head at both of them as a greeting, she added, "And evening Malodore, Riley. Both of you look even more charming than usual tonight!"

And dazzling too. Smells like love.

He's right. Riley purred, tilting her gaze dotingly on Malodore and fussing with his lapel. You do look good. Have I told you that? I don't recall. It bears repeating. She tore away when Amrita's date was mentioned, and her eyes widened just slightly. Charlie. Charlie the top hat terrorist. Ohhh, Amrita.

Well, I'm sure she'll have an.. interesting night, then. Riley curbed her tongue, trying not to sound horrified. I wish to meet Lizzy formally when she arrives. Please bring her to me. She wasn't too worried, however - if Malodore spoke highly of her.. that was high praise indeed.

Riley caught Malodore's incline when it discussed literature class, and she stiffened slightly. She was no less uncomfortable about Calder than she was that day - she was simply.. under duress to work things out in his favor. For tonight. She was all too glad to have the alternate subject of the dance itself relieve her of having to talk about Calder.

Well, I was asked to help with a few games, and I know there's going to be some contests later on. Though, honestly the main events would be dancing, eating, and socializing. She gave them both a sympathetic look. I know you're both thrilled to hear it.

Jericho gave Riley a nod as she requested to be introduced to Lizzy. Her comments on Amrita and her night did raise a question or two in his head and he had to wonder just what Charlie was like. The name was familiar, but he couldn't think of who it was really.

As he looked at the two, there was something in particular that he noticed.

"You traded emblems," he commented, staring at the pins on both students. This had to be the first time he ever really seen anyone trading these things. Before he could say much else, Lizzy had arrived. With a little bit of an awkward smile, he waved to her.

"Hey Lizzy and uh... thanks I think. Nice dress," he said before looking to the Mindflayer. It seemed that he wouldn't have to hunt her down later after all, "Oh, Riley, this is Lizzy by the way."

With a nod, he turned back to the pink haired demon.

"So uh.. ready to go in then?"
