He choked a bit on his cider, it was non alcoholic which suited the purpose being they were under aged and all, and it wasn't like he hadn't heard Geia tell him those words before. For some reason it always made him react that way, as if he shouldn't expect to be loved by someone as great as Geia. Dabbing the napkin on his lip his own face was deepening in color as he shyly responded that he loved him too.
Taking a fork he nibbled on the escargot his nervousness now taking full sweep. "Do..do you like it?" He inquired after a moment, he could easily gorge himself on the buttery garlic snails but he wanted to let Geia enjoy a few. It was a good thing he only got this on occasion else he'd weigh a lot.
His face drained of color a moment when he realized that the item he had in his back pocket had...in his antsy movements, fallen out. He tried to scan the ground looking for the small box but when he couldn't see it he groped around with his feet trying to see if it had fallen under the table. His foot however made contact with Ligeia's leg...brushing up against it in his desperation to find the box.
Having touched Geia in such a ..rather suggestive manner made his face deepen into a shade of red that borderlined on passing out.

Geia nodded his head as he reached out to get another of the appetizers, taking a bite from it then gave a nod of his head, "They are really good! Thank you for suggesting them, Chath." He said, lifting his fork up to take another bite of the one that was end of the utensil before he felt Chath's foot moving against his leg, drawing a squeak from him, "Ah!" He flushed a little then gave a grin, thinking that it was nothing more then flirting on the part of the newt. It was something he responded to by doing the same, rubbing his own fluffy, sandaled foot against the side of Chath's leg in an affectionate manner. It wasn't often that he was so openly flirty so the owl was all for responding despite the fact that there were others around.
He finished up the appetizer he was eating so that he could set his fork down, giving a grin at the new. He had no idea that what Chath was really doing was trying to find something that he'd lost or that he likely wasn't helping. Instead he was just happy to be playing with him... and since the table cloth was long enough it should be enough to hide what it was that he was doing from the view of anyone that might happen by.

Feeling the owl respond in kind with rubbing his foot against his leg, his face deepened in color and he tried to keep his cool though it was really really really hard. Swallowing he wanted to take that glass of water and splash it all over his face. Instead he carefully reached down and lifted his spray bottle up to mist himself.
It then occurred to himself an idea. Trying to make it look accidental he fumbled and dropped the bottle to the ground.
"Ahh.. one sec.." he muttered as he got up and then got on his hands and knees to look for his..dropped item.
Peering under the table he spotted the box and groaned inwardly. It was resting rather close to Geia's chair and if he moved in that direction it would look a little weird, since well his bottle was clearly not over there. In fact if Geia looked down he'd see it plainly no where under the table.
What to do? He knew where the box was now...but he didn't want to risk leaving it there. What if the waiter spotted it and picked it up? Swallowing he edged his way under the table reaching as far as possible to pick the box up. But..he had to get closer.

The owl couldn't help but to giggle a little as Chath hurried grabbed for his spray bottle and misted himself, something that he found to be a good sign though at the same time he figured he should cease his flirting until they were somewhere that Chath could splash himself down with as much water as he wished to. He watched as the newt dropped his spray bottle before he went to go after it... and his cheeks colored a bit as he went under the table, something that made his mind wander off into a place that was most inappropriate.
He shifted in place, wings gave a flap to cool himself off, then asked, "Did you find it?" He asked, wondering if Chath was alright. Surely he hadn't fainted, right? He waited a moment long before leaning over, lifting up the table cloth so that he could check on him, "You alright under here, Chath?" He asked of him, glad to see that he was still conscious. He loved him dearly and as such he knew that when it came to flirting, and the overheating that was caused by it, was something he needed to keep an eye out for. He didn't notice what it was that Chath was doing since the box he was looking for was close to his feet and therefore not within his line of sight.
"You alright?" He asked again, "Not to hot are you?" He worried that maybe this wasn't the best of places to go for a meal since there wasn't really a good breeze coming through, it was fancy so they had to dress up in more then was usual for Chath, and he couldn't really go about splashing himself with water as much as he would want to do so. Next time maybe he should see about their date being at a water part he decided. Geia knew that he personally wasn't the best swimmer but he could still enjoy the shallows. So long as Chath was comfortable then he would be happy.

He had almost gotten his fingers on the box when suddenly Geia was peeking under the table. Reacting with understandable surprise he lifted his head and body too high and too fast smashing it against the underside of the table.
He saw stars and his vision went black a moment, and he instantly had his hand on his head, managing to not curse...he chewed on his lower lip a moment trying to let the pain subside.
"Ah..you startled me," He explained feeling rather stupid, "I'll be right up...don't worry I won't pass out down here." The boy explained as he hoped it would get his boyfriend to get back up there so he could grab the box.

Geia gave a jump and his wings snapped open, giving a flutter when Chath jumped and hit his head on the table, "Ohh... Chath... are you okay?" He asked, sounding even more concerned now that the newt had smacked his head so hard against the table, not to mention how he was holding onto his head in reaction to it. A part of him wanted to crawled down under the table to check, to see if his head was alright, but knew that it wouldn't exactly work for him to be crawling around on the floor in a skirt...
"Startled? Sorrry! I didn't meant to scare you." Though he wasn't exactly sure how he'd scared him... oops, he would need to be more careful he supposed if he was so easily startled. He said that he would be right up, that he wouldn't pass out, and after a moment more of watching him just to make sure that he didn't pass out in this moment he nodded and sat back up. After sitting back up he looked over toward Chath's water glass, which was mostly empty, and he moved to scoot his own over in front of Chath's plate. He had the cider now so he didn't need both drinks and he was sure that Chath would need the water more then he did.
Once that was done he sat back in his seat to await the reappearance of the newt, staying still so as not to bump him or other wise risk startling him.

Releasing a breath he hadn't been aware that he was holding he reached forward and snatched up the box, it was best to just get out from under there before he roused more suspicion. Relieved to have the box back in hand he crawled out from under the table,careful to not let the box come into view and sat back down. He was surprised to find his water glass once again full but was thankful for it as he reached for it and guzzled the contents down.
Feeling his body temperature cool down he smiled at Geia,
"Okay so where were we?" he inquired as he had..in the moment of panic forgotten what they had been talking about. Right weren't they toasting? Ah...now what?
It hadn't even occurred to him that...he had come up without the water bottle in hand...

A look of relief appeared on the owl's features when Chath reappeared from under the table, looking as though he were alright despite his blow to the head. That was good he thought before he watched as the newt drank down the water that he'd given to him, something that made his ear tufts give a happy wiggle, glad that he'd anticipated Chath's need for more water so well. That he could take care of such a need, no matter how simple, pleased him greatly.
"Where were we? We were enjoying the tasty treats you ordered for us." He said, deciding not to as about Chath's head since he seemed to be alright and he knew that when he worried to much for Chath that he came off as him being more like a mom and less like a boyfriend, not something he wanted. Instead he picked up his fork, stabbed it into one of the appetizers, and lifted the meat of it up and offered it to Chath with a soft smile on his lips. He'd seen the move before in the romantic movies he'd watched on tv and decided now was as good a time as any to try it out on Chath.

The newt looked at the offered fork with food dispensed on it, blinking slowly as he wondered what his boyfriend was doing until it clicked. Oh RIGHT. Couples did this didn't they? Leaning forward after the awkward silence he tried to anticipate the distance for the food. Biting the fork a bit too hard he managed to get the snail off of it if awkwardly.
Since he had to lean forward one hand was firmly in his lap to prevent the box from tumbling off of it and back onto the floor. Of course he didn't know from the owl's perception it appeared that he was clutching his lap..a bit too fiercely and in a way that appeared rather naughty.
Chewing he leaned back into his chair, picking up his own fork and taking a stab at a snail before mimicking what Geia had done for him.

Geia had to catch his lower lip in this teeth to keep from giggling over what looked like a confused look on Chath's face when he starred at the offered food. He reached it out a little farther, closer to him, and then giggled when he finally took it, "Have I ever told you that your very cute, Chath?" He asked as he withdrew his fork from where it was hovering, empty now, and set it down near to his plate.
He reached over toward the cider, lifting it up to take a sip... then found himself starring at Chath, finding himself curious what it was that he was doing. His hand seemed to being clutching at something under the table... and his cheeks colored darkly as his mind wandered off once more to places that weren't really safe for public. He closed his dark eyes for a moment, shoving those thoughts aside fiercely so that he could get his blush under control, then as he opened them again he found a snail their in front of him, making his eyes get a bit wide with surprise. He followed the snail and the fork back to the one holding it and he gave a smile, how sweet! He was trying the same thing that Geia had done, huh? Cute!
Leaning forward he caught the snail in his teeth and pulled it free from the fork, then sat back in his seat, chewing and have a happy sound, "Good." He wasn't sure why but it tasted even better when Chath fed it to him then when he'd eaten them on his own he realized. What an interesting discovery!

He felt himself flush a bit more, his boyfriend was calling him cute, shouldn't it be the other way around? Geia was the cute one, he was just the...awkward nose bleeding passing out one.
Rubbing the back of his head after putting his fork down he looked to the table as if embarrassed. He laughed a bit weakly his legs quivering as he really wanted to give Geia the gift now. His throat felt dry, his water was empty ...and just worrying over the ring in his lap was making his head feel dizzy.
He smiled weakly at the face Ligeia was enjoying the appetizer, it was then the server came and brought them their meal. it smelt delicious but he could hardly focus on it, poking at it with his fork his other hand in his lap twisting the box in his fingers.
"U..h.. Geia?" He started, he had wanted to keep this as a surprise until dessert but he wasn't sure if he could last that long.

Geia glanced over at Chath in a worried manner, asking if they could have a pitcher of water when the server arrived, deciding that it might be a good idea to have a lot of water on hand since it seemed that Chath was more susceptible to the heat today for some reason. He would need to be sure to keep a close eye on him, that was for sure.
His attention went to the plate that was placed before him after the server went to get them a pitcher of water before he reached for his fork, wiping it off on his napkin so the appetizer taste wouldn't mix with that of his meal. As he did this he seemed to notice that Chath was fidgeting more and didn't seem as though he were to terribly interested in his food. Something that had him worrying that much more, "Is the heat getting to you so much?" He asked, wondering if maybe it was making it so he wasn't feeling like eating. That would be a shame but he knew that they would be able to get a to go box for Chath's food if needed.
As Chath said his name he tilted his head slightly, ear tufts giving a wiggle, "Yes?" He asked of the newt.

Surprised by the question he shook his head, heat? Not exactly...he wasn't overheating due to the temperature but to nervousness. Licking his lips it felt like he was parched all over again, but seeing that Geia was now looking at him inquisitively to his question he leaned forward, reaching a hand to tough Geia's.
"There is something...I've wanted to ask you..." The newt began he went to lift the box into view when suddenly...all that water he drank hit him. His face flushed but this time...it was for the incredibly urgent need to use the bathroom.
"I...wanted..." He started again..he couldn't just stop here...no he had to finish right? But it felt like his bladder was going to explode.
"I'llberightback!" He rushed as he pushed himself up and away from the table the frantic look around for the men's room and dashed off.
Leaving the bright purple box with a silver ribbon quite plainly on the table...

Geia looked down at his hand for a moment when Chath reached out to take his hand, then looked up at him. Something that he wanted to ask him? His wings fluffed up a little and looked more then a little curious about it, "Yes?" He asked, heart skipping a beat in his chest.
He wanted... wanted what? All sorts of things raced through his head from probably things like he wanted a kiss, a hug, more time together, for them to study together more, train together more... then to more far fetched ideas he wanted them to be somewhere alone to share a more interesting time together. What, what was it he wanted?! And then he was running off leaving the owl sitting there wide eyes, mouth having dropped open in shock, "W-What...?" But what did he want! He found himself checking the table and the floor to see if he were having another of his nosebleeds that he seemed to get when he was to stressed out. It didn't seem to be so though, something else had caused him to run off...
He gave a bit of a worried sigh before his eyes landed upon the bright and pretty colored box that was sitting on the table, "Oooo." He wondered if what he wanted to ask was something to do with it? He reached out to pick it up, looking over, then gave it a little shake, "Pretty." He murmured to himself, wondering what it was that was inside of it. Was he allowed to open it? Should he wait for Chath to get back? He gave a little sound in his throat, one that said he was obviously torn between opening the present and waiting... being responsible he forced himself to wait. Not that it didn't stop him from playing with the item, trying to figure out what was within it.

There were no real words that could describe his relief upon emptying himself in the men's room. Dear lord...what was he trying to do sabotage himself? This was suppose to be a romantic dinner..and he was just making it really really awkward and weird. Splashing some cool water on his face he tried to collect himself. Calm. Calming thoughts.
It wasn't really working and only ended up with him spending far more time in the washroom than necessary. Once he realized this he rushed back out trying not to trip over his own feet as he felt clumsy in real shoes.
When he got back to the table he spotted the purple box on the table and froze. Patting his pants pocket as if the box would magically appear there he stared dumbly at the table again and then to Geia his face coloring again.
"Ah...." There was an awkward moment and he sat himself back down in his chair. "D..did. you look?"
