Whatever they said, we know that it's a beautiful story of a mother who gave her baby a chance to experience life, as short as Lee's was, because she respected his existence, and loved him because he came from her womb. Not because he was "wanted". But because he was half hers.
Forget what the Choicers in that guild said. It's an amazing, inspiring story that reminds us why we're pro-life. It reminds us why we are so strongly against "terminating pregnancies". Why we believe every human being deserves the opportunity to feel what it's like to live life outside its mother's uterus.
Because its little heart was still beating, it was still a human being. No matter how ugly, how deformed, sick, or homely that child must have been, it was hers. Her little bundle of joy. Her little Lee.
And that's what made this story so beautiful. She knew this, she respected this, and she loved him for the miracle of life he portrayed.
And I, for one, am proud that we have hope. That we have women like Danielle in today's society.
It's good to know that there are still people out there who celebrate the sanctity of life.
In all shapes, all forms...
All children.
