She wasn't one to withhold forgiveness from another, hate was a poison and she didnt want to be poisoned with anything else. Her mother and her herd had made sure that Amalthea had a hard outer skin, even if she looked anything but.
Sometimes she wished for the healing powers of a unicorn, or even the lesser ability of an alicorn, though she wondered if she would have used them on herself, or only used them for the aid of others. As he spoke of her wing, she turned her head to look at it, and sighed. She hadnt ever been great at flying, no one had taught her, but her landings had always been graceful, but now with her wing she wasnt sure she could be klutzy in the sky again. "Hopefully. A pulled muscle would be a blessing over it being broken."
She watched as he seemed to stare at her horn, she then laughed softly and smiled at his surprise at the lack of introduction on his part. "Please, just Amalthea, or even Am. as Jasper calls me." She nodded her head lightly in a soft bow, "And it is indeed a great pleasure Eros, though sadly its on such troublesome terms." But as she looked up at her horn, her eyes crossed as she looked at the glowing crystal. "A gift from my mothers blood, though the glow is from an unknown cause." she said with a light sigh.
At his random question, she blinked in surprise for a moment before she laughed, even in her current state her laugh was carefree and beautiful. "Well, no one I guess." She pondered for a moment, "Well accept for Jasper, I've no one else in the world." She said in a rather somber tone. It was a sad though, to have no one but ones familiar though she counted herself a great deal lucky for even Jasper.

Eros practiced the nickname, tasting it on his tongue, "Am... sweet and simple." He enjoyed it. It would be easier to remember than Amalthea, though it was already embedded deep within his mind. Whoever was destined to be with this fair lady was truly blessed. He had a sudden curiosity strike him though on whether or not he should begin his search for her. Her horn? Ah, yes. That glowing crystal like thing sticking out from her forehead. It truly was entrancing, and she must have definitely caught him staring. "It is very lovely. I am jealous of your appealing appearance," he playfully spoke and gave her a smirk to let her know he was only joking around. He wasn't one who judged on looks. Somebody would be the most gorgeous soquili in all the land and turn out to be the nastiest one all at the same time, and visa versa.
Moving on to the next topic was kind of rapid though it seemed like she hadn't been bothered by his sudden question. This made his relax a bit more. "Other than this kind hearted fox you have nobody else to care for you? Why is this? Do you not want anybody to care for you?" He found it a bit odd how somebody as sweet and beautiful as her didn't have the stallions swooning at her hooves. "Do you yearn for .... more?" He didn't mean to be so nosy but it was just him. He liked asking questions about others perspectives. It was getting darker outside, the sun must have sunk over the mountains now. He huddled closer to her, to keep them warm as the temperature outside dropped.

"Yes, like anyone else I long for the day I can find the beat to my heart. But, its always been as it is now." She said softly, with a light shrug of her shoulders she glanced around noting the light was slowly lessening around them.
"My mother had a fling, that she never thought would result in anything. And sadly it did, it resulting in me." She flicked her tail lightly against her side, "And the herd she stayed in, had a very strict rule against anyone but pure bloods among them, if I hadnt been the daughter of their most cherished healer, I would have been killed before I even felt the warmth of my basket." She shifted lightly, she didnt enjoy sharing the story of her foalhood. "And until I reached the age of where I no longer needed them, I was made aware of what an insult to nature I am."
She closed her eyes, and sighed softly as she nestled against him lightly.

The sadness of her story took effect over poor Eros, bringing light tears to his eyes from his sensitivity to these sort of tales. They weren't pleasant ones, but in some cases had to be told. "I am sorry to hear such a thing, Amalthea. I truly am," he lightly extended his lower wing out and draped it lightly over her back to keep her warm. It seemed like the gentleman thing to do right now. "Though, I have to say... you're more of a gift than a mistake. Never in all my years have I met such a sweet, soft spoken mare such as yourself." He gave a small bow of respect with his head before nuzzling her cheek to reassure her.
When another was trouble Eros had on instinctive tug. He had to give affection. Love made everything better, though it stung his heart that she had no significant other to cheer her up. He would have to work fast for this ones sake. The feel of her nestling against him caused a strange emotion to stir inside of his chest. One that he wasn't familiar with so he began to grow concerned. Of course, he hid this worry from her though. For one who spoke of destined pairs and finding true love he had never himself truly felt its effects.
"Tomorrow... if you're able to walk of course... I'll take you away from this place. It isn't safe with that fiend running about looking for you. It'll take you to a better place... alright?" he leaned his head down and plucked a rose from one of the vines that draped around his chest and brought up the red rose to rest perfectly among the smaller ones. It sat so beautifully in her hair and seemed to belong. "For now, we should sleep. I'll be right beside you the entire night, so you can rest easy." He gave her mane a soft n** of affection before laying his head upon the ground, shutting his eyes and attempting to slip off into slumber land.

She stayed silent at his words, her body was dead from the trama and her mind was slowly drifting as well, the warmth of being nestled close to him was effecting her a great deal.
"Thank you." She said softly, her voice thick with sleep, her tail curled around his side as she lowered her head, draping it over his legs as she sighed and slowly let the world grow black around her. She felt safe beside him, safer than she'd felt in a long while.

The male appeared massive beside the dainty female with the glow of her horn being like a night light for them both. Not that Eros had nightmares. No, his only fears were broken hearts, not exactly a thing that a night light could cast away. Still, he huddled closer, wing resting lightly over her body and a comforting weight of her head upon his legs, causing a smile to creep suddenly upon his lips. "You're most welcome," he responded softly in a whisper, keeping the volume low in case she was on the verge of sleep. He knew he was. A few moments passed and he was in a deep sleep.
