Devlin nodded it would be good to not divide his interests between work and family and having his daughters closer and friend to keep an eye on them helped even more so. "Ok, I'll be waiting I myself actually just got here, I have my cot from the old lab in the apartment, you remember don't you?" He said chuckling slightly as he talked to the mother of his children.

Devlin just shrugged it off, he had a feeling he knew what was going to happen or what she was trying to do. "Yea, I hope you enjoy yourself then." he said rather icily he'd never married either. After all in his jack of all trades lifestyle he didn't want to constantly worry anyone especially his last job a battlefield medic. sighing again he coughed clearing his throat. "So uh how are you two doing anyways?" He asked after a moment not sure of what else to talk about.

Devlin nodded "Not really you know my taste in cloths, either a lab-suite or dressed for war. " Devlin said chuckling. after a moment he sighed "Oh it feels good to not be in a tent and able to freely talk with my family." He said after a moment they'd known he was deployed a for a couple years in a peace keeping unit or so he said.

Devlin chuckled as he could hear the rustling. "Well in my defense I did visit as often as I could." he said after a moment though that was normally only after he'd been sent to the hospital for a new hole in him something he was thankful that they hadn't caught on.

Devlin frowned on his end of the phone. "I would have if I could have Ginger." he said after a while "And you think I didn't want to watch them grow up, I've tried to see them as much as I could and my employment has allowed." he said sighing as he finally sat down on one of his folding chairs.

Cringing back as if he'd been slapped in the face Devlin let out a sigh. "I know, but if I did that well the girls might not have had the opportunity to come to school here." he said slowly and stood to resume his pacing "But yes if I'd done what We both thought would happen at the time things would have been easier on us all." he said admitting his short comings something he was good at. "I don't know Ginger honestly I felt as if me being there int hat town was a bad thing I mean I was living there for only a few days and I got Frank shot he lost a leg because of me, and you nearly got killed as well the night the girls were borne." he said finally collapsing into one of his chairs his legs no longer having the strength to stand.

He sighed, he didn't like the verbal relationship fighting or fighting in any sort of relationship, he was numb to the fact on the battlefield but words especially from someone he cared about that was an entirely different thing. "Ginger... things happen for a reason, I didn't think you didn't care about me anymore, because I know you do, I'm our daughters father after all. the same way I care about you. I know things could have gone better, and maybe we should have gotten married and settled down,It's too late for that now, considering all that's happened but, here the girls have a chance to have a better life then we did." he said slowly as he sat smoking a cigarette in his sparsely furnished apartment.

Devlin let out a sigh "I won't." He said after a moment, I've actually been trying to quite just my nerves have been shot, I think ptsd might be finally setting in." he said after a moment chuckling. but cleared his throat "But I won't." he said.
