"Yes I still want to continue." She snapped before even realizing it, flicking her ear in annoyance before sighing. She kept forgetting who Adonis was at times. "Sorry." She grumbled, even though the word sorry rarely ever left her mouth. Disappointed in her find from earlier, she sulked as she headed to the river, tail flicking side to side.

When she found Desmon, whether he took her necklace or not, she was going to wrangle his neck. She needed someone to take her anger out on.

Adonis just chuckled and shook his head. "It's fine, frankly a less hostile response would worry me," he said. He was surprised, though in an amused way, that she had actually apologized for that. He didn't bother to mention it, though, and simply followed along beside her, examining the forest as he went. As they reached the river, he turned right, placing him in front of Tithe, and began to follow it downstream.

Presently, a glimmer caught his eye. He stopped suddenly and focused his attention on the shining object. It wasn't too shiny, but it was enough. And it was in the shape of a necklace. Adonis glanced back at Tithe to make sure, since he had never seen this chain of hers before. "Could that be your chain?" He asked, nodding in the direction of the object, hanging high from a tree branch over the river.

Tithe looked up when Adonis moved in-front of her, tempted to push him into the water. Though, the water looked like it could sweep him away in one foul swoop. She didn't notice the necklace until Adonis mentioned it, eyes flicking to the object. She frowned, moving closer before letting out an annoyed, wild huff.

"Son of a...." The vixen moved towards the edge of the bank, swiping widely at the necklace. Her paw knocked it off, however sent it falling. Letting out a panicked/angry growl, Tithe made a wild move to grab it, her paw lacing through the hole, however her body falling over into the water.

As cliche'd as this may sound, time did actually seem to slow down as Adonis watched Tithe fall into the raging waters after her treasured necklace. Of course, Adonis wasn't just standing there, staring blankly as all of this occured. The second he sensed something bad was about to happen, Adonis leapt after her, quickly falling into the water himself.

He had braced himself for the cold, but the swift current of the river was difficult to adjust to. Though useful in moving him in the same direction as Tithe, it was a bit of a hinderance whenever it also pushed him into large rocks and other obstacles jutting out over the surface of the water. He was determined, though, and swimming with the current allowed him to catch up to Tithe quickly enough. After a large gulp of air, he bit down onto the extra skin and fur around the back of her neck, just hard enough to get a hold of her.

As he started pulling her back to the nearest shore, a glint of something floating in the river next to them caught his eye. It was clearly her chain, now safely looped around her paw. Adonis almost sighed in relief. At least now he wouldn't have to go down river looking for it. Once he had finally reached the shore, much further down stream than when he had originally jumped into the river, Adonis pushed Tithe out of the water first, before finally climbing out himself. His first order of business was to shake his fur dry, his second was to lie down on the ground next to the river, breathing heavily. His adrenaline had worn out, and suddenly he was quite tired.

When she hit the cold water Tithe had made a frantic flail to try and catch herself, or even swim to the top. However her grip on the chain slowed her arm movement, and to hell was she releasing the chain. She went limp, the silly idea that perhaps she would float down the river into something solid that could stop her flickering into her mind. She didn't have time to think, water getting into her mouth as she seemed to not panic, but not find a way out of the water.

What if this was Nana? How would she rescue her? What if both her and Nana had fallen into the water? She'd have dropped her chain in seconds, which she was considering now.

She felt something bite into her scruff, head forced to lift slightly as she felt the attacker move closer to the shore. Her red eyes looked about for Adonis, widening when suddenly she was pulled onto the shore and released. Her body lurched forward, coughing out water and dropping the chain by her side. Jesus! What the hell had she been doing? She could have caught that chain easier if she had just thought.

Her eyes flicked over to spot a panting, very wet, and tired Adonis, nose wrinkling. Had he helped her? Of course. She moved to his side, flopping down beside him and nudging him, biting a large leaf off the bush beside them and beginning to try and help dry him.

"Thank you." For once, she was showing kindness and compassion.

Adonis felt a nudge, but didin't react to anything until he felt the leaf begin to dry him. He opened one silver eye and caught sight of Tithe beginning to dry him. He smiled when he heard her thank you, but didn't respond for a few moments. He took the time to calm his breathing and heartrate, and once all functions seemed back in working order, he sat up and stretched a bit, watching Tithe out of the corner of his eye. "You're welcome," he finally responded, sitting up on his hind legs. "Just glad you're safe, really. And you got your chain back, as well." He nodded to the piece of jewelry as he spoke.

Honestly, Adonis wouldn't have known what to do had Tithe been hurt, or worse, in the river. The lack of any form of injury was nothing short of miraculous. "Well, you aren't hurt, right?" He asked, just to make sure.

Tithe turned to look at Adonis, ears flicking slightly while she nodded. "Yes, I am okay." She wrapped the chain back around her neck, sighing happily. She stopped drying Adonis, tail flicking side to side. Her ears flicked against her forehead, shuddering. "I am cold, but not hurt." She mused back, looking over at Adonis once more, examining him. Sheesh, the kid was a mess. She sat up, moving his hair from his eyes and beginning to help push his fur back into place. Sheesh, this reminded her of Nana.

"Are you really alright?" She asked, leaning over to glance at his eyes, her own intense and scanning to see if he lied. She was worried for him in her own way. She glanced over at the water, moving slightly further from it, untrusting.

Adonis chuckled slightly as Tithe fussed over his fur. He didn't care about it very much himself at the moment, but made no motion to stop her. "I do feel fine, really," Adonis said' glancing around a bit. "Though perhaps we should find a meadow; somewhere to lie around for a while, so the sun can warm us up." The bits of light shining through the leaves weren't being too helpful, presently. "Perhaps if we travel away from the river, we'll find one," he suggested. There wasn't much reason or logic behind the suggestion, but Adonis didn't really want to walk along the river at the moment.

Adonis glanced back at Tithe, awaiting her approval of this plan. His eyes caught the chain, now replaced around her neck. It was the first time he had really noticed it. The chain was quite pretty, despite Tithe's earlier description that it only held sentimental value, and wasn't much to look at. Perhaps it was plain, but that's what Adonis liked about it.

The vixen looked at Adonis, nodding absently. She knew he was avoiding the river side, and didn't blame him, not after his recent plunge to rescue her. Shaking the guilt mentally from her mind. Tithe was not one to feel this way. It wasn't her fault he jumped after her! Hell, she never asked for help. So why did she still feel a little bad? Sighing, Tithe looked down at Adonis, wondering if he needed help moving. If this kept up, she'd be the kind of fox to give out berries to youngsters. This thought made her shudder.

"I can help you walk to a meadow." She offered, rough voice softer. She seemed to be being gentle, something she shared with Nana and only Nana. Perhaps it was seeing him this way after risking himself for her. She hadn't ever had someone stick themselves out for her. If Desmon had seen her drowning she wondered if he'd help. Hmpf. Desmon. She'd bite his ear off the next time she saw him.

Admittedly, Adonis was a little shocked by the offer, yet pleasantly so. "I suppose I won't mind the help, then, since you're offering," he said. As he said this, Adonis stretched each of his legs in turn as he lay on the ground. They were still stiff from the cold of the river, and his muscles weren't so happy after fighting the current. Adonis was sure he could manage sitting up on his own, at the very least. And he did so, well enough. Which was great for his back, as he was able to stretch. His legs, however, had moments where they wished to disagree completely.

"Yup," Adonis said, "That help of yours... Definitely going to be helpful."

Tithe nodded, moving to Adonis and lowering her body so most of her was on his side, and began to walk with him. Her tail wrapped around him to keep him close and steady, careful to make sure he didn't step on any rocks or fallen debris. "Now, don't anger me because that river is still pretty close." She added, whether it was a joke or not he'd have to decide on his own, she wasn't telling. She wondered absently what in deities name was she doing, caring for a male that had gotten himself hurt on his free will. Though, it was because of her.

Dammit. Her damn morals. This was how she quit being a hitman, woman, whatever. All because of sweet Nana. She was growing soft. Hell! What if she had kits and was feeding berries to nearby kits and being sweet in a year?! Hell no. Hell no.

Adonis didn't actually want to rest the majority of his weight on the vixen, but after walking a distance he found that he really didn't have a choice. Well, she did offer, he reasoned with himself. Plus, it wasn't as if she was incapable. Tithe was quite frankly one of the toughest vixen's he knew, so eventually Adonis gave in and leaned into Tithe's side, secured by her tail.

Tithe's single statement throughout the beginning of their journey through the woods made Adonis laugh. He doubted she was being serious, after all. Still, he responded, "Anger you? I wouldn't dream of it. My life is too dependent on your kind words and gentle disposition. You wouldn't dream of threatening me like that, would you?"

Tithe laughed lowly, able to support Adonis fairly easy. She didn't comment on him putting his weight on her, glad he trusted her enough not to injure himself trying to treat her like some prissy girl. When they reached the clearing she gently made sure he could sit down, backed away, and looked him over.

"Okay, you will need to rest, alright? I can look after you I guess, this is my fault afterall." She turned her head to the side, nodding. "Are you hungry, Adonis?" She asked, voice gentler, perhaps slightly motherly. Slightly. Don't get carried away now.

Thankfully it didn't take them too long to find a nice, warm clearing to settle down in. The sun wasn't failing him today, thank the 'Deities. Adonis lied back down in the grass as Tithe backed away a little. He nodded, a little lazily, at her words. He wouldn't mind resting at the moment. He wouldn't really mind her caring for him at the moment, either. He did, however, wish to assure her that it wasn't her fault. Perhaps he'll do that later, though. It wasn't too necessary.

At her second question, Adonis nodded again. "I could eat," he said. "Plus, I have a feeling you've been wishing to track down the bird that stole your chain in the first place."
