"Is there no way to save him," she asked with her eyes narrowed. "Your just going to kill an old friend."
The word "friend" came out false. She had never had any true friends after her sister. Her mind shut completely off of that topic before the word "sister" finished.

Matsuo turned his head back at her and sighed. Looking up back at Ren he spoke."Ryoko and Ikoi are long time rivals of mine including Alkaid. Ikoi may not attack me but I know full well Ryoko will. We have had countless battles with no clear cut winner..... Neither of us have ever won a fight against one another, hence the reasoning for his grudge" He then quickly sheathed his zanpakuto and lowered his spiritual pressure. "All my lives have been about mayhem and chaos. Destroying the soul society and whatnot. Now my only wish is to help my fellow arrancars build themselves back up again, and if this so called elixir grants Alkiad immortality then he is a threat to my kind, hence why I must stop him at all costs." he said with a strange calmness to his voice. Something Matsuo had never done in his 'past' lives. He seemed to be alot different since his reign as King many years ago........

Matsuo chuckled, shaking his head in the process. "Do you realize how many times this man has gone insane? Too many times to count thats how many. And each time he somehow becomes sane and the process starts all over again." he paused, showing signs of anger. "This man is a danger to all of us..... even all of creation!!! So what makes you think he wont go crazy again Shinigami?" he asked her with a slightly irritated tone.

Matsuo raised an eyebrow, smirking slightly. "Because Shinigami if you haven't seen my rank there is someone who keeps me in line, and as of now Alkaid has no one to keep him in line...... unless you know of someone im going to have to kill him, simple as that" he said with a stern and serious voice. He seemed set on what he was going to do about this situation because it bothered him quite a bit. This was just about the only time he showed any 'concern' about his fellow arrancar at all.

Matsuo's eye twitched in irritation. "He does not control what I do. The new and improved Espada is a democracy, therefore he has little say so in what I do if that answers your question. Im not intending to start a war and he knows this. If you or any other shinigami sees this as a hostile action it is not my fault. I am simply protecting the interests of my own kind." he said as he gazed back over to the cave. "and if Ryoko attacks me then thats his fault not mine" he said as he shrugged. In truth he did want to fight him a little, since they still have a long lasting rivalry that they needed to settle.

She glanced at the cave. She knew time was running out. She would either let him go and have Ryoko think she was a traitor or fight the arrancar and hope that he did not kill her.

Matsuo's spiritual pressure suddenly spiked to insane levels before calming down. "He has not attacked me outright in the past so no it would not be my fault woman" he said raising his voice a little. He sounded just a little agitated. His emotions were running a little high at the moment, always one of his weakness. But he made sure he didn't lose his temper like he was famous for in the past. If he did lose his cool then things would not end well for everyone involved.
