When the window was opened, Calder gripped the windowsill and shoved himself in, dumping himself on the floor and breathing out. "What does it look like? I took a cruddy ladder here like some handyman. Ugh. Ladders suck!" He said, laying on the ground as he caught his breath. At least he would live another day, and while he was at it, he'd show that Igor what a good kick to the groin would feel. HAH!
Breathing deep, the kelpie looked up and then sighed. "So I heard you need some help and stuff? So…." He opened his hands in a tired gesture before dropping them back on the ground. "Ta-da. I'm here. Professional helper extraordinaire. Better than any Igor or lame-o friend who doesn't want to do that sort of stuff, climber of shaky ladders and window entrance expert." He felt a little sick. Heights- not a thing made for horses to tolerate. He wasn't a Pegasus after all!
He slowly sat up, looking up at the ghoul. "Didn't Christof tell you?" He asked, thinking that Lizzy and Christof had some sort of weird Mistress-Igor deal for him to take part of.

If she looked lost before, she looked utterly confused by the time Calder was done ranting about climbing a ladder. The only word that caught her attention after that was the name of a certain Igor, and even then, she shook her head, baffled, "Christof? N-No, he didn't really tell me anything." Well, there was that message he left on Groanspring, about meeting after Music Class, but... Was he the one who sent Calder then?
"Mind explaining what you were doing, climbing up a ladder to my window when you could have fallen off and hurt yourself?" Lizzy raised an eyebrow, "Did you come all the way here just to uh, help me with stuff? Because you could have told me beforehand. Or used the door like normal people."
It didn't occur to her that some Demons didn't appreciate non-Demons coming over for a visit.

Calder sat up, pressing his knuckles to his eyes as he tried to wrap his head around this Jacked Up situation that the Igor threw him in. He didn't even TELL her? Ohh. Oh…He was going to kill him some Igor. He was going to kick that undead's head off so far that they'll give up the search and just replace that stupid face of his with a pumpkin. It would be a improvement to whatever smug look that LUMP HEAD was probably having right now. That… that…
"I'm going to rip his stitches off one by one, make his pieces into a party platter, and feed it to the monster dorm!" He huffed, stomping one hoof at the very idea of what he was put though. How the HECK was he supposed to tell Lizzy why he was here?!!
Rising up, he glared at Lizzy, but only because he was thinking of Christof. "That jerk made me climb his rickety ladder of death to get up here because he doesn't believe in doors and then he doesn't TELL you anything?!! Ohh. OOhhhh." He shook his head, starting to pace, reading to smack a mare just thinking about it. "I bet he thought it was real funny. Teach the stupid Kelpie how to behave like an Igor but don't tell anyone what the heck I'm doing. Like I'm some idiot?! I should find him and trample him into the dirt. That's what I should do. Just smash his face in." He paced again, lost in thoughts of murder.

There was more staring on Lizzy's part as the Kelpie continued to rant about Christof, although it didn't take her long to roughly get what's going on between the two by listening to the contents of the ranting. Still, she could not help but wonder why Calder was putting himself through it if he really hated it that much... Could this be part of his training to learn to control himself?
"I'm not sure what exactly Christof did to make you this mad, but... You said you were here to help? To do an Igor's work?" She raised an eyebrow; it was a question she pretty much knew the answer to, but it never hurts to ask again... Just in case.
Then again, what does 'an Igor's work' include exactly?

The kelpie stopped in his tracks, his hands in the air as if pretending to strangle a very lump neck. As he did, he looked up and then reminded himself that yes, Lizzy was here and he had some sort of job to do.
When she inquired to try and get this all straightened out, having no help from Calder till this point, the kelpie huffed again. "Yeah! That dumb jerk doesn't think I can do a lick of work as if his job is SOOOO hard and that no one else can do it. He's so full of himself, with his stupid face and shovel." Noted, Calder wasn't the best with insults either, and he was looking around for something to kick.
He only stopped again when he envisioned the Igor laughing at him for failing hard at helping Lizzy. Oh no. No. No. No. He would NOT give that moron that pleasure. Standing at attention though with his tail flicking quickly from side the side, the kelpie looked about. "Give me something to do. I'm here for that and I want to show that lame-o that I can do whatever he can, 100 times better than he can."

"Well, you have to give him credit though. Christof is a pretty good Igor, from what I've heard," She nodded slowly, wondering if Calder was just being extra grumpy from being 'abandoned' by Christof. However, she figured that the sooner she assigns him with some work, the sooner he would be free to go.
And hopefully he wouldn't go straight to murdering Christof.
"Uh, I guess I have some work to complete, so maybe you can take my pets for a walk? Just a quick one around this building," She nodded, turning around to retrieve three leashes from her desk drawer and hoping that Calder would not mess it up. After all, it sounded like a simple enough task to her! Jimmy had been sedated with the whip and probably won't bolt, and Pugs had always been well behaved.
Rosenthal might be a problem, but if Calder really wanted to prove himself, walking the Pata-Pata might be the best way to do so.
"I'll give you their leash, so just hold on tight and don't let go," She stressed with a frown as she starting to walk around her room, hooking the leash to the collars of her three Minipets, "Rosenthal might run away and cause you to uh, fail... So just be careful not to be tricked into letting go, yeah?"
She held out the three leash - Pugs looked contented, Jimmy looked dazed while Rosenthal looked absolutely horrified at the fact that they were going to be walked by a stranger today.

He took the leashes and stared at them. Walking your pets? He never bothered doing that. Usually he just opened a door and let all his minipets run out and then, if they decided to run, he chased them down. That or someone returned them to him. The later happened a lot, but he was sure they were happier just running around in the woods most of the time. Then again, if they were gone for too long, he worried they would be munched on.
Taking the handles, he looked at the three pets. One looked weird with bat ears, the other was a dog (He didn't like dogs), and the other was a reindeer. Seeing as he was on the train when one of these things attacked him, he wasn't exactly thrilled to walk any of them. Still, if she wanted them walked, he would do just that. "Okay, I'll be right back." He said, and turned about, being mindful that none of his hooves stepped on a little paw.
He left through the door and left Lizzy on her own. It wasn't sometime later he returned with a rather frightened Pugs, and a reindeer that looked like it wanted to be anywhere but wit Calder. Pata's leash was gone. "So……here ya go." He said, wondering if Lizzy would notice.

She smiled a little to herself, rather relieved that there was no protesting or further ranting on Calder's part. Walking back to her desk, she could not help feeling rather grateful for the help; not having to walk her pets herself meant that she would have more time for herself! By the time Calder returned, she was in a rather good mood and greeted him with a smile as she reached for the leashes, "Welcome ba-"
Lizzy froze, her hand an inch away from the leashes Calder was holding as she stared at the Minipets. Of course she noticed; how could she not? It was painfully obvious that one of her pets was missing while the other two looked like they had been through the Princess Corner and back!
"What happened to them?!" She whined, pointing at Pugs before moving her finger to Jimmy, both of them looking delighted and relieved that they were back home, where it was safe. Safe from the white haired boil. She frowned at the looks they were giving her before looking back up at the Kelpie, her voice raising a little, "And where is Rosenthal?"
As if on cue, the Pata-Pata flew in through the window, leash still on. Landing on Calder's head, he started to flail his stubby limbs, ear wings wiggling like he was trying to accuse the boil of terrible things. Then, he gave the Kelpie a hard knock on the head using one of his flailing limbs - he hates this boil. HATE.
"I trusted you to do this job well," She frowned, folding her arms across her chest, "I'm sure Christof would agree with me on this, but you failed to deliver."

He frowned at her, clearly not getting why she was so upset. Okay, 2 out of 3 was good, and those two were at least walked. He did most of it right. Apparently most wasn't good enough and Lizzy had just grumbled at him. "Whooooaaah. I walked them just like you said. One just….got away from me. How was I supposed to know it could fly?! It went all 'take to the skies' on me! I can't fly, Lizzy. I tried running after him but then these guys and their stubbly legs could follow. They just sort of …flew like kites. Not really aerodynamic. Not like that other one that just flew away. You gave me a defective pet to walk." He pointed out, before breathed out. Okay, he shouldn't be getting upset. It wasn't Lizzy's fault.
Moving over, he looked at her, serious as he calmed down. "Lizzy, your pet wanted to be free. It took the clouds because it wanted that. I did you a favor." He breathed deep. "Lizzy.." he spoke softly, setting a hand on her shoulder and looking her in the eye. "…sometimes when you love something, you have to let it go."
Then to ruin his speech, said something came flying in and landed on his head. "Oh look. It came back!" YAY! He wasn't in trouble. Smiling, he pointed at the creature to Lizzy to show that everything was fine, but then he was being hit and Lizzy was going to fail him. "HEY!!! I walked them and this guy came back! I..I couldn't fly after him." He was starting to feel that Lizzy was trying to make this hard on him, but he didn't want to fail either. He frowned, looking at the two pets clinging to Lizzy and the one beating him into a conclusion.
"I thought I did good." He mumbled to himself. :C

Lizzy didn't want to listen to Calder's excuse, finding his lack of a sense of responsibility most disappointing and upsetting - in fact, she almost lost control of herself and smiled when Rosenthal started to attack Calder. It took her a lot of effort to keep a straight face while removing the flailing Pata-Pata from the Kelpie's head; it was obvious that the Minipet did not like the boil at all, even more so than the boils he had met in the past. In fact, he probably deserved the assault.
"It escaped from you," She stressed on the word 'escaped' as she frowned, stroking Rosenthal's back to calm him down as she glared at Calder. Pausing to release the significantly happier-looking Minipet on the floor, her frown only deepened when she heard what the boil had to say for himself, "You thought you did good? Which part of that was good?" She wanted to face palm, but decided against it. Instead, she took in a deep breath to calm herself before continuing, "A fail is a fail... Since I can't really trust you to do a good job anymore, why don't you tell me what you're good at? Besides mentally scarring my pets, of course."

Being scolded wasn't exactly Calder's idea of fun, and his ears slowly started to drop the more he was put in his place. Knowing you failed something wasn't a grand thing to take pride in, and he looked at the Pata-Pata as if it had been his fault that he had ruined his chances, but seeing as he lost the leash, well, he wasn't about to have that freedom in putting all the blame on the minipet. Not only that, but Lizzy saw him as incapable of doing anything right and that she couldn't trust him. Ouch. Mega Ouch.
When prompted to at least list things he could do, something presented in a way that said what she could at least think he could do competently, he paused a moment. What could he do? Well, he could do a lot, but in terms of actual work – that was one thing he had to think on. It wasn't a real confidence booster to know that the things most student in this school did every day or were familiar with were things he was doing for the first time. Washing Machines. Classrooms. Bathroom stalls. Even leashes weren't exactly something his family used unless it was a rope to tie a animal to the tree before you prepared for dinner.
Reaching over, he started to scratch his arm, looking down and around. It was even worse that, compared to people like Barth who were rich demons and had it all, to admit he was some backwater hick who still got excited when he could flip a switch and the lights came on. "……um………laundry….but I don't think it's the way everyone likes…" That's what Christof kept yelling at him about. "……picking plants…..hunting a bit……fixing some things….." His house at home, with the warped boards, sometimes needed replacing. He glanced around before his eyes crawled up to meet her's. "………..I guess not much." He……..he wasn't turning out to be a very impressive Igor.

"That's a start," She replied when Calder was done listing out what he was good at; she didn't really want him to touch her clothing... Not only because she had a feeling he might just ruin them, but there were unmentionables in there! Its just too embarrassing! She frowned a little, eyes never leaving the Kelpie as she slowly nodded, "What about building things? I think my Minipets could use a small bed each... I have the DIY kit I bought from the maul, but never found the time to build and paint them."
She had to find something for Calder to do! And you can't mess up a DIY kit right? It only requires a bit of hammering, and painting is not hard at all. Judging from things, it seems like Christof wanted him to stay till the end of the day and its best to keep him occupied! Besides...
"And I'll brush your hair while you're at it." She frowned at the mess on top of Calder's head, "How did you even get twigs in there when you're not allowed to swim?" She looked and sounded baffled; it was as if twig monsters went to make a hair nest on his head!

His tail swayed at the mention of another task. Building stuff? He could do that. He used a hammer before, and painted a old wagon once. He could do those things! Smiling, he perked up. "I can build stuff. I helped fix our house all the time." Minor repairs from falling floorboards to missing planks, but he knew how to use a hammer. It was the added part of doing his hair that made him frown again. He was about to flat our reject when he remembered the bad point he already got. Well……………..he would mess his hair up later, right?
Grumbling, he looked about and then back at her. "I put the twigs there. They look better that way." And he didn’t want his hair looking neat again. "………..but, if you brush it, will you give me a good grade?" Christof wasn’t' around after all, and if he could get a good grade in the end, he could rub it in the Igor's face!

"Really? That's good! I'm sure this should be easy for you then!" She beamed, feeling rather relieved as she made her way towards her wardrobe; if he was confident of it, there's a smaller risk of him messing it up! Besides, it would probably make her Minipets less afraid - or in Rosenthal's case, less angry - at him if he does it well. Probably.
Opening her wardrobe door, she walked in - there was the sound of drawers being opened before she spoke again, addressing Calder's comment, "You put them there? Why would you do that?" There was a pause as she considered his request, "I guess? I mean... If you don't like something but allow me to do it anyway, that's a good display of you being an Igor, right? Abiding to my request and all..."
As she spoke, she walked out holding a huge box, a hammer placed dangerously on top of the box; it was big enough to cover her face and cause her to stagger slightly as she moved towards Calder. Peeking out from behind the box, she plopped it down in front of the Kelpie, removed the hammer and handed it to him. Then, she tore through the tape holding the flaps of the box together using her fingernail.
"There should be enough materials for three beds in here," She nodded, opening the box to reveal several planks of wood of different sizes, three cushions, a box of nails and an instruction manual. Straightening up, she looked expectantly at Calder, "Have fun? The paint is in another box... I'll dig them up after you're done putting the beds together."

He thought about it a moment as he looked at the box and plopped down on the ground to address his newest task. "I guess if doing something I don't like makes me a good Igor, I'll let you." Then again, he wouldn't be thrilled. "…I just don't like my hair." He mumbled, and then reached in to fish out the blocks of wood and instructions. He also found a jar of nails and taking the hammer, set it to his side.
Okay, what did he have to work with? He opened the paper wide and looked at the instructions, and looked at the image on the first step. Separating the wood into piles to know you have all that you need. Easy enough, he turned and started to make little piles. Three piles and then he paused when he noticed extra. What was the extra for? He looked back, counted the wood they showed and counted his piles. OH, it was extra in case of mistakes. Well that was nice!
Now onward to Step two. He set the two piles aside and slowly read the second part, and looked at the piles. What….what pieces of wood were they talking about in the picture? Wood 2 looked similar to 3 and 4. They were all the same size. Should he mark them? Maybe he should mark them. Reaching into his pocket, he fished out a pencil and wrote the numbers he believed were right. Okay. No confusion. These would be THE numbers. Okay, so how did they have this set up? Boy little beds were complex. Why couldn't the little buggers sleep on the floor, or the bed, or outside?
This would take a while.
