As the bartender mixed up the drinks, he scanned the crowd, eyes flitting across peoples' faces to look for prospects or to judge the overall feel of the crowd. His end realization was that, above all else, this group was young. And that from someone still twenty-one himself, theoretically fresh to this world. Even if he wasn't really.

He made a little noise as he turned back the bar, attention flicking curiously over Ashley, much too self-possessed for her age, and then to Jada ordering her shots.

Maybe he could coax Zac into that later.

For now he flashed the bartender a grin as she dropped off the drinks and shoved a much too-small tip into the jar. One in each hand, he tasted Zac's to make sure it wasn't too strong before wriggling out and back, an expert at finding his way through the crowd.

"There. Not ginger ale. Acceptable?" He slid the drink across in front of the kid, his own hands wrapped around what might as well have been water. Except for the kick.

Jada looked over the crowd, back to the people at the bar. Hmm. She couldn't see faces that clearly through the haze of smoke, but if she got up and walked around, she could at least take a look at other important a**-sets. Another bartender slid her something with a grin, and Jada stared at the chocolatey-looking drink, covered with whipped cream. "What is that?" The woman leaned in, telling her, and Jada stared at it like it was something mildly vile. "Eh?"

"Amaretto and Irish Cream." she was told. "Don't use your hands."

Eh?

She snuck a look back down the bar. No one seemed to be looking in her direction, so if she just drank it... She started to lift it in her hands, and the woman slapped her hand lightly. "You're doing it wrong."

"Mrrfl." was the sound Jada made, and drank-- slim fingers wrapped around the glass. Ugh, it tasted borderline vile. "Maybe something fruity next time?" The look she was given clearly said that Jada was a bohemian, or something. The heiress rolled her eyes, standing up. It was time to dance, and she had to pick her target. It was rather like eenie meenie minie mo as she strolled down the bar, eyes drifting over the people there. There was the redhead-- who looked less like Drew and the more like paranoia the drunker she got, and the smaller boy and his apparrent date; there were a few really hot chicks, and a few not-so-hot guys and gals who made her nose wrinkle.

Then again, she was gauging attractiveness based on the rear view. Through tequila goggles.

Finally she picked the one she liked the most, and sidled up to the beer- the bar- near them, glancing at their hands. No rings. Excellent. She rested her hand on his arm, casually, and gave it a only a second. "Hi. Will you dance with me? Unless you're otherwise occupied..." She flicked her eyes up to the face of the Chosen Victim, and almost turned around and walked away.

Cute Butt was not just a Drew lookalike after all.

Ever reached out easily to nab the drink from Zac, take a small sip, and then cocked his head to the side as if considering the flavor. Eventually, he nodded, grinning, and offered it back. "Tastes just about perfect, yeah. Maybe it's not your brand..."

With that he leaned back, his own cup hanging from his fingers and eyes skating out through the crowd, considering. "We could dance."

No, that was a bad plan. He had a feeling Zac 'didn't dance' -- which meant, of course, that he was just too self-conscious to get out there. Ever didn't really dance either, but that didn't stop him from hitting the floor. "Or, alternately, we could play a game. People watching. Give them stories."

Ever blinked at him, potentially surprised -- bore him? What, gossiping about other people and inventing sordid stories about what they might do out on the street? He made an entertained noise, expression lighting up: this was potentially his only creative outlet. Or the only one he could perform in public, at least...

"Well, I usually rate on a scale from one to ten, first, and sometimes I get distracted, but why not." With that, he flicked a look up through the crowd and spotted a table. Their window was brief, so he just grabbed Zac's wrist to tug him roughly through the crowd to claim it.
