Orion gulped at her reaction, only thankful that she hadn't mentioned Kalonas. Would she look at him differently if she learnt the truth of his heritage? He himself detested it, Lior didn't seem to mind, embraced it like she embraced everything else.... but Orion, well things were different. He was nothing like their mother which lead him to believe he was more like the father that had abadoned them, that probably didn't even know that he had sired children. Orions tail started to sway from side to side in frustration and anger, but that was the only outward sign of his emotions as he looked up at Eden once more. "I don't know." He admitted, having always avoided others it wasn't as if he really understood their ways..... mostly because such curosties never usually extended to him. Orion sighed and looked away from her again, desperate for something to distract him.... it was then he saw a flash of colour again. "Butterfly?" he mumbled and tilted his head, wondering if it was yet again a may fly or whatever it was Eden had mentioned earlier. He gulped, not wanting to appear rude to this mare that obviously knew a lot about social convensions, "Would you like to take that walk now?" Perhaps they would find a butterfly? His heart leapt at the thought and his face revealled the first genuine smile around this strange mare.

Eden Nodding, the walk she had offered had been an open invitation. "Sure, lets go this way, its where the flowers are budding more." Taking a few steps and starting a steady walk, letting him keep up or linger behind as he pleased. She hadn't missed the few times he had said butterfly, he sure seemed to love those little things, so she would try to find him some to make up for scairing him. Though now that she knew she would have more time in his company she couldn't think of anything to ask, he seemed sensative and some things might upset him.

Since Eden didn't seem up to talking Orion remained silent, something he was actually very comfortable with. The forest was beautiful as was the stream he had found earlier, yet at the same time he disliked it.... knowing that to follow it would lead to 'herdlands' and therefore people, he almost shuddered at the thought but resisted the temptation. His tail had stopped swaying as his anger and frustration left him. Orion really did have a soft spot for nature, for as long as he could remember it had been his only friend, he had been caught many time talking to the trees or the clouds, or the grass..... laughed at for in fact, but it had never stopped Orion, he had always found comfort in the act. He turned his head, his attention caught on something. A flower, unlike any he had ever seen. It almost... glowed. Not really thinking about his companion he walked towards it, nosed it ever so softly and smiled. The aroma was delicious, a sensative smell that didn't flood the sences but seemed to demand that you went back for more. It looked almost like a lily... but different, definatly different. Still, he had no idea what it was. Hearing hooves near by he turned to see Eden, and blushed once more. This was the second time he had forgotten about her... he was starting to see a pattern. Coughing and trying to force his embarassment back he asked, "Em.... Eden.... eh.... do you happen to know what type of flower this is?" NB: He just described the Moon flower. The flower that Maion brought down from the mountain for his mate Sengdroma that soon started to take over the herdlands.

She wasn't one for talking unless she had to or if she felt the need to talk, so she was quite happy to walk quietly with him till he asked a question. She took this as something he was more comfortable with as he seemed less jittery now. Having stopped not to far away, having noticed quite quickly when he had veered off drawn to something and she had stopped letting him investigate while she just waited quietly.
Walking over at his question and looking closer to see what flower he had found. Nodding as she stepped back and looked at him. "Yes, its called a moon flower, I'm not totally sure of the story but I know its special to the herd alpha. Beautiful isn't it." Never really vocalising opinions like that, though she did have them, people always formed opinions regardless of if they voiced them or not. Looking down at the flower as a small butterfly landed on one of the petals, watching quietly, thinking the best way to work out this stallion would be very slowly, let him accept her company before probing too deeply. She had time, and he seemed to be an interesting being.

Orion found himself smiling at that, the name was indeed fitting for the flower. 'The Moon Flower', it did glow like the moon, as if it had secretly stolen some of its light to use as its own.
His eyes grew wide as he saw the one thing had found himself seeing everywhere -although it had turned out to be something else on all those occassions- a butterfly! This one was beautiful, pearl like colours dancing over its wings, purples, blues and pinks. A web of viens the only thing breaking up the colour leaving it with a delicate carved feel. He smiled. Watching both it and the flower for a moment longer before turning his head to his companion, Eden. She seemed quiet to, as if she too was more comfortable in the silence, yet..... he suspected she did so by choice rather than a way to protect herself? Or was he wrong? You could never judge a book by its cover after all.
Turning his attention back to the flower he finally replied to her comment, "Yes it is beautiful. Everything about nature is." For more than just the obvious reasons. Yes it 'looked' beautiful, but it was also never purposefully hurt anyone, it never went out of its way to upset another. No, it simply grew in all its wonder and magnificence. "Sometimes I wish I was a flower or a butterfly." Lost in thought Orion didn't realise he had spoken outloud.

Quietly watching still, her eyes on the flower and the butterfly though most of her attention was on the stallion. Listening, keeping him in her peripheral vision, she didn't want to make him uncomfortable, she had already terrified him once today. Feeling another twinge at that thought, though the feeling was dismissed easily. She had never found a use for feelings beyond procreation, and then it could end in pain. Yes it was better in the end if you ignored foolish and fickle emotions and did what was needed, though her family seemed to think her odd for that. She tried to show them she cared for them, trying to protect them in her own way but still they needed the shows of emotion and she tried, but she somehow knew that she lacked in something in her attempts.
Pondering how she ended up so unlike her family as she looked at the flower and butterfly she almost missed what he said, both bits of it. "Yes I suppose it is all beautiful.... What kind of flower would you want to be?" Pausing between her comment and question. Finding it an odd wish but most wishes had a reason behind them, she wondered what he was running away from, , then dismissed that thought. Maybe he just didn't want to be his self and anything else would do. Moving a little closer, but not too close wanting to test something out a little. "With that lovely shade of blue in your mane and tail I would think you would have to be a blue flower." Looking at the blue now, actually finding herself admiring it, so vivid against his black colouring.

Orion looked at her in shock as she spoke, he really hadn't realised he had spoken that last part, yet clearly he had.... unless..... could she read minds? He wasn't sure which idea disturbed him the most. Yet before he could comment he found her speaking once more, describing his hair as lovely -or at least a lovely shade. His brow furrowed in confusion. No one outside of his family -father excluded- were nice to him, of course he didn't exactly give them the opportunity he supposed. Orion liked to be on his onw, no one to insult him or betray him, no one to stare at him or be mean..... Yes, Orion liked being alone. Yet, Eden.... she seemed to like the quiet too, she didn't seem to see him as a freak as many did. That was when he found his eyes flashing to her wings, at first he had just assumed she was a 'wind', a single pair of wings upon her back.... yet her wings were slightly different, he couldn't explain how but part of him felt that she was like him. An oddity in the world. Shaking his head and ignoring the thoughts that whirled and danced in his head he turned away from her. "I...... don't know. Anything." He nearly added -anything that will make me normal.

Eden Looking at him quietly again, not sure where his 'I dont know anything' had come from. She didn't remember asking him a question, but maybe he had been talking to himself about a thought or something. "You don't have to know anything or much, I would imagine the life of a flower is lovely." Looking back at the moonflower. "You are planted, you grow, you are admired and then you sleep till the next year and do it all again." Blowing softly on the butterfly, it takig off and fluttering over to land on orions nose. "Sounds a peaceful life to me." The butterfly landing on him making her even more sure he was a good person, animals seemed to know these things,

Orion nodded at her, "Yes. And no one would call you a freak." The words slipped out before he could control them and out of embarassement and nerves he flicked his head and view away from her, not daring to see her reaction, not wanting to hear what she would say.... would she call him a freak now too? His heart raced and in that moment all Orion wanted to do was escape. Run away, or fly.... and get as far away from company as he could. The only thing that stopped him was the fear that he would run into more of those traps and alert everyone for miles that he was there, exactly the opposite to what he wanted.

Eden Eden had actually looked somewhat startled at his words, having been pondering what flower she would turn him into if she had such power. Looking at him, properly looking at ihm now, looking over his wings and back to his face. "Why would anyone call you that?" Not sure what her reaction was, but she wasn't happy to hear that people would say such a thing about someone that seemed nice and otherwise harmless. "I don't see anything freakish about you, you have a head, 4 legs, 2 eyes, 2 ears and one nose just like anyone else."

Orion cringed at her words, not sure how to interpret them since he didn't really have much experience in this area. He avoided people... he wasn't social or game for conversation, yet from her tone he was sure she was more offended by the concept that he had been described as such rather than wanting to call him it himself... but did she think he was worst than a freak? Or better? He didn't know... and he wasn't sure he wanted to risk it. He shuffled on his four hooves, his wings flat looking like a single panel on either side rather than lots of seperated clawed panels as they did when open. Orion turned to look at her, and for a moment he didn't say anything. Didn't move, and didn't really breath. Until finally he released a heavy breath and allowed his wings to open. They unfolded, turning one large panel to five in varying sizes, each tinted with different colour blues and lined with clawed black fingers. His head hung low and he waited. After a little while he finally said, "Because of my blood."

Eden Eden took in his wings as he revealed them, and admitted that the claws, or were they hooks, were a little intimidating, but they were dwarfed by the beauty of the panels looking closely as she takes in the shades of blue in the little windows, so like a dragonfly. He clearly had flutter blood, but what might have given him the claws, kalona maybe? Pondering this and looking back at him. "I like them." Nodding decisively as she makes her declaration, she saw nothing to be freekish. "Everyone has mixed blood, my mothers a vampire angeni and my dads... well I'm not sure what he is, a wind regular weird mix I guess." Spreading her own odd wings. "I get these from him, my brothers look morel like our mother."

Orion only half listened as he folded his wings back in. His first instinct again was to leave, to run hard and fast and never look back. He lowered his head and furrowed his brow as he considered a thousand different things. She liked his wings? Had revealed that she was mixed blood also, although there didn't seem to be anything evil in her line..... except he supposed the vampire, except Eden was too pretty and gentle to truely take after the evil of them.... so did that mean her mother was evil? Or good also? At the same time he was considering the fact that she didn't seem to flinch at the sight of him, didn't seem to wander away or step back from him. She stood firm, nodded and smiled.... reasurring? He closed his eyes behind the blindfold. "No. Don't. Lie." He stepped back then. Opening his eyes and looking at her. "Don't lie?" The words came out less angry that time, came out as a desperate plea as he felt his body shaking. He couldn't take it. Couldn't allow anyone to get close to him and then hurt him, after all, this time his sister wasn't here to save him. He was alone. Always alone. He liked being alone, he reminded himself. He gulped, taking in her wings once more before taking another step back.

Eden Not sure if she was more insulted or hurt at being calle a lier the smile faded from her face, to an expressionless on. Not angry or hurt, total retreat, falling back on logic as she usually did. "A different opinion other than your own does not make something a lie." Not moving, her wings folding again. She wouldn't stop him or chase him, if he asked to leave she would show him the way. She wasn't mean, she didn't think anyone in her family had it in them to really be mean. She never lied, thinking maybe he should be a thistle, pretty but prickly.

Orion froze at her words, was she right? Was he just over reacting? He had been hurt so much, so many times that he had never really considered the fact that not everyone was the same, that no everyone would consider him a freak. He found his eyes looking to her wings again, she was different. She knew that... yet she seemed, pleased, happy.... accepting of it. Orion looked to the ground, was the fault with him? "Sorry Eden." He mumbled, his brow furrowing again as he tried to consider everything. And although he didn't know everything he did believe he had to consider one thing -that Eden may not actually mean him harm, that she might have been speaking the truth..... the only problem was, Orion didn't know how to feel about that. Gulping, and deciding not to dwell on the mistake since he had already said sorry. "My father..." He started, "I never knew him but he was a mutant of some sort with Kalona blood. My mother tired to help him and well...." He gulped, "....they spent a night together and she was left pregnant. He probably doesn't even know about us." Orion didn't really understand why he was telling her this, but something inside had snapped and he could no more stop the words than he could stop himself from breathing. "As foals my sister and I..... well.... our wings refused to develop, were useless buds. My mother always said it was due to faulty genes...." he winced at that, he knew his mother loved him, would forgive her anything, but even she believed them to be faulty. Stopping Orion gulped, he couldn't say anymore, couldn't bring himself to tell her of the torment of the past.... after all, it was in the past right? Lior, his sister always told him that the past was the past and it was the future you needed to look for. Of course Orion had never considered a future, had always simply strove for solitude.
