i am not offended, and at risk of putting words in chaoticpuppet's mouth, i doubt he's offended as well. we are here to educate and learn and we were both trying to do that. i know i have felt that chaoticpuppet can be a bit... blunt. i try not to be, but i think i can be too. we are trying to DISCUSS. we don't want to ARGUE. i hope we haven't scared you or made you feel uncomfortable about posting here, please continue to do so.

I am not offended
and I am here to discuss as well.

this was my goal. people that are intolerant will speak in absolutes like "All ________ are bad because _________." when really individual people are to blame. and being that we are trying to promote tolerance in this guild, we felt the need to correct you. although i tend to like correcting people or being corrected and might not always realize other people aren't up to that task.

I try not to generallize by using "most" in place of "all".
But that isn't much.

I don't mind being corrected.

good! now, i don't mean to imply i am always right either. and i did notice you say "most" rather than "all" but i have a hard time believing that even the "most" approve of violence.

You're probably correct,
cosidering I got my information from an article.

They could have exaggerated,
or I could have misread.

The correct word may have been "many"

The following article includes 20+ quotes from the Qu'ran:
www.eretzyisroel.org/~jkatz/quranhadith.html

It is not my job to go through each of these articles and find the relevant parts, until such a time when you have shown certain points from said articles and how they prove/help your claim.

I would hardly expect you to read a bunch about the philosophy of existentialism after I made the claim "Existentialism is awesome, go *insert website relating to the existentialist philosophy here* and see for yourself" if I were trying to prove existentialism as the awesome philosophy that it is.

I have never made such a claim.

You asked for reference to the quote.
I did. I provided 4 links, and I could provide more.

You asked for supporting quotes from the Qu'ran.
The 5th link I provided has more than 20 quotes from the Qu'ran.
Would you like for me to copy & paste them for you?

Why don't you prove that Palestinians don't hate/kill Jews,
instead of "proving" I am wrong
because the information I provided -at your request- isn't convenient?

I have never made such a claim.

I seem to remember you stating something to the effect of: Palestinians believe that if they kill Jews they will get to heaven.

I did, and you did. Go ahead and provide more if you find that you have provided an insufficient amount of links.

I did ask for supporting quotes from the Qu'ran, and you have yet to come through on that. You may have provided a link that I can go to for further reading if I wish, but you have yet to provide the information I asked for. I asked for supporting quotes that it is ok for Jews to be killed by the muslims, and further that said muslims who do kill Jews will get to heaven.

If you find it sufficient to just copy and past from these 20 quotes from the Qu'ran, then do so. If you do not find them sufficient, then I would advise against just using them.

First of all, it is not my job to prove that Palestinians don't hate/kill Jews. Because of two reasons: (1) You made the claim that they do, and (2) Claims of the positive nature (as in X affects Y) are such claims that get to be proven; negative claims (as in X does not affect Y) are taken as the default position - that is, they are believed to be true until they are proven wrong/incorrect. Further, telling me to prove my side when you have been insufficient in proving the positive side is a fallacy, called the burden of proof fallacy.

You can find more information on this, and other fallacies here.
