At the question, Nikki turned brown eyes to Faleen for a moment, then toward the wall. "It doesn't matter. If I had actually caught the Ho-oh and returned to HQ with it, yes, it would have been. But I didn't. Instead Team Galactic came along and caught the Ho-oh."
The fact that Team Galactic was happily enjoying the fruit of Team Rocket's labor, including her own, angered her immensely.

The anger in her was evident, the response was much like the other Rockets who were on the mission, the arrival of Galactic... how dare they. "Well, it could have been nice, its unfortunate we have to live with what happened. Though my question was more meant about joining Team Rocket"
In the end nothing they did really mattered, they lost, and there wasn't any "But" in that. They did their best, no use dwelling on hindsight, just what they can do next time.

Their best wasn't good enough. Or at least her best wasn't good enough, when they didn't get results. Doing your best wasn't going to get you to elite if you didn't succeed. That was just the cold hard truth of life. You can do your best all you want, but if you have nothing to show for it, it doesn't matter at all.
However, Faleen's next words drew a raised brow from the agent. "I don't regret joining Team Rocket." Nikki told her plainly. "I'm better off here, and I'm loyal to the Team because of that."

A small grin spread over Faleen's lips at Nikki's reply, followed shortly by a nod. Hearing a reply like that was oddly refreshing, many of the Rockets here were loyal, but there were several that she had met, who seemed more uncertain as to what they were doing here, she personally didn't understand that. "Yes Ma'am" The bright feathers once again caught her attention, and she took a moment to look at them, tilting her head a little "Did your partner bring those?" She asked.

Nikki personally didn't understand those types either. She joined Team Rocket for a specific reason, and that was to better her life. It irritated her when she saw people who had it well off to begin with and simply joined just for kicks, or for no reason at all.
When the conversation turned to the vase of feathers though, she snorted. "Hayes? Yeah right. Agent Nyx brought those actually."

"Oh, Agent Nyx" she repeated "Thinking back she was one of the Rockets who grabbed some feathers" she said quietly, more to remind herself, it was hard to think of much after the Galactic left, just how much everything hurt. She knew Nyx worked in the labs that would be in charge of the feathers and the Egg that had been recovered, it must have been easy for Nyx to get them.
"That was thoughtful of her" Faleen stated as well, this fact being very true, it had been a clever gift to give to Nikki.

"Yeah," Nikki said quietly, her voice also having a discontented and distracted not to it as well. Nyx was a nice person, and had even agreed to take care of Nikki's Pokemon for her, aside from Darkfeather. She at least had her Pidgeot to keep her company, which kept her from going completely insane.

Examining the feathers for a moment longer, the size, and the colors. There was a lot of things to notice about the feathers, like how shiny and colorful they were. it was hard to notice that when the bird was swooping down trying to kill the entire team. Her thoughts turned to the legendary, what kind of pokemon they were, they were so special... but why? Faleen didn't know a lot about pokemon, it wasn't exactly her main interest. "Whats so special about the Legendary?" She asked "What gives them the ability to become so much more powerful?" This drew a frown from Faleen.

This seemed to get Nikki's attention for she gave Faleen a strange look. What, she didn't know?
"Not only are legendary Pokemon as rare as you can get, many of them are involved in the natural balance of the planet, and thus have the power to cause catastrophic events if disturbed. Arceus, for example, is said to have created all life. Groudon and Kyogre have the ability to create land and oceans respectively. Lugia and Ho-oh can control the weather in different ways. Nobody knows exactly why or how, very little is actually known about legendary Pokemon. That's why they're called legendary."

She expected that kind of look when she asked the question, She had received it several times when she asked questions about pokemon that most people seemed to know... well, most people who had grown up around pokemon. Faleen hadn't and that was her disadvantage. With Nikki's answer she continued to frown, tilting her head a little and looking thoughtful. From the sounds of it, they were forces of nature, no wonder they were so powerful. "I see," Arms crossing over her chest, she glanced down at her knees with a small troubled frown, before glancing back up at Nikki, "At least they can be over come" she blinked, remembering how difficult that was. "There must be a more officiant way." and this drew a thoughtful expression from the grunt.

"Despite their power, they are Pokemon, and can be caught. But its more difficult. Not to mention tampering with some legendaries has proven to cause worldwide affects on the environment."
Nikki raised a brow though as Faleen went on about there must be a more officiant way. "What do you mean?"

"Oh, well just considering how many of us were injured by the encounter, I was just pondering potentially more officiant ways to engage pokemon like that..." She hummed once, clearly running something through her mind. Team Galactic... while she hated them seemed to have the right idea that she wound consider by using technology. "Such as devices that can be construed..."

"I don't think there is any easy way of catching a legendary except with a master ball." And they would have had it, had the elites not been separated from the group during the beginning of their mission. "Even Galactic with their fancy machine needed to weaken it first."
Nikki's tone turned grumpy as her thoughts went back to the team that had stolen Ho-oh right out from under them.

"But its illogical to assume that its not possible to weaken a pokemon, including Legendary with machinery." she spoke with much more excitement in her voice as her seemed to very much enjoy where her thoughts were taking her. "Galactic might have just grabbed the Ho'oh, but the machinery they used to restrain it didn't seem to function for any other purpose, or at least from what I was able to make out" Had she a better opportunity to actually get a better look the devices they were using she would be able to tell more about it. Though as much as she didn't want to admit it, it probably could do a lot more then just grabbing the pokemon... damn Galactic. "That isn't ideal having a single application..." She frowned again, brow furrowing as she continued to consider this. "Given time, research and tools, there honestly is no reason a legendary can't be caught easily, though getting to that point would be the time consuming and difficult part, considering how little we know and how few opportunities we have for real tests for the technology."

Nikki just blinked at Faleen, clearly not following her line of thought. When it came to machines, she knew practically nothing. She could only do the basics on a computer, even.
"I guess," was all she muttered, not really interested or excited about the prospect of catching a legend with machines as the grunt apparently was. She would rather stick with the usual methods, thanks.
