lol I've had to start working on my kana again since my boyfriend is using Rosetta Stone (which he is not satisfied with) to learn Japanese.

I found Rosetta Stone to be terrible but I only spent like an hour or so on it before I uninstalled it. Not sure if they include stuff like grammar in there cause when I went through it they gave me a picture and someone saying what that picture was. (ie: *shows cat* neko, *shows plane* hikooki. etc.)

But then again whatever works :p

@Hayash1
I am taking a break from school due to finances, so the only Japanese I can do is through Japanese Coach and what I can practice at work. the Learning never stops though!

I wish I had a stable job ._. only part time stuff right now, but I managed to get myself enrolled into a Saturday class. Somehow got myself stuck in a teen class since I had just turned 18. Everyone is like 14-15 and female ._. I can't relate to any of them. They have a strange obsession with korean boy groups xd

I'm currently watching Fairy Tail and One Piece as well as Bakuman. Not many good animes have come out this season.

It's stable and not stable. Hawai'i is very big on "Call In Shifts" so I never know if I will be working or not that day and then they change the hours on me sometimes. *laughs* But it helps. When I am not working at the Disney Store I help run the OurDestiny Designs group. That is wonderful to hear that you got into a Saturday class! Keep up the good work! Nothing is better than sticking with it!

Now that I have internet I am seriously going to be watching Anime! heart

Speaking of sign language!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sv3tadz5Q3o
High-larious. Also, pretty freaking impressive. (fyi not safe in public places. The title of the song is the F-bomb. lol)

YESSSS~!!!!! I LOLed when I watched that. It was great! I can't believe how quickly it went viral. It reminds me of how the ASL 3 & 4 students had to sign songs for our finals in high school. I performed For You I Will my junior year and I Believe I Can Fly for senior year. At our graduation all ASL 4 students translated and signed The Prayer. That was my favorite song. It was really beautiful. I totally wished someone had recorded it. Oh and for fun my friends and I did A Whole New World. XD

@ Hayashi: I heard that Bakuman was good, but I haven't seen the anime. I only saw the preview manga chapters in Shonen Jump. LOL. Is it worth the watch?

@ Yama: Are you all right? I just found out that Hawaii is now on tsunami warning! D8 I hope you and Chloie are safe! ...Though I may have to worry too because down here in SD they want us on alert too.

To bring everyone up to speed: Japan has encountered an 8.9 earthquake near the coast of Honshu this past Friday. It's devastating, so please keep the people of Japan in your prayers and if you can help out definitely do so through the Red Cross.
PostPosted: Fri Mar 11, 2011 5:08 am

@ Angel: I had NO idea that was happening! My friend in Japan just posted about it on facebook. He says he's doing okay which is good but he's not actually IN Honshu, I think.

I hope you and MC are safe Yama! Seems like there are earthquakes happening everywhere on that side of the world! I hope you two can keep yourselves safe and dry inland!

Yeah, I found out all this at like 1 in the morning. Wasn't the best time to find out. :< My best friend is in Japan too, and luckily her city didn't suffer damage because she's in the west, but she felt the quake on top of a 3 story building with her students. The damage is pretty bad, but the prime minister said that Japan has the strength to endure it all.

What I'm worried about is the other areas on tsunami alert. I hear that certain parts of Hawaii were being evacuated. D: And there were already some 7 ft. high waves in Crescent City in Ca. But it sounds like things are dying down a little as it gets later in the afternoon. So yeah, hopefully things will calm down by this evening. Here's a pretty good article about what's happening: After the quake.

@ Abiding Angel

Miss Chloie and I are A-OK. Thankfully we are not in a red zone, but centrally located on Oahu. If we did have to evacuate though, we have friends in Manoa that would take us in since they are up on the mountains. Thank you so much for the concern! whee It was pretty freaky watching the ocean go out and expose the coral like that though. It was pretty un nerving.

As for Japan, according to the "Prayers for Japan" thread people's loved ones seem to be okay. That is so good hear. I hope that everything goes well for Japan.

Glad to hear it! I kinda figured since you've been able to post in the guild that you two are ok. : ) And at least you have some place to evacuate to! The whole tsunami alert was quite disconcerting, but I'm glad it's done and over with. And the coral was exposed? Wow, that would be kinda cool if not given the bad situation for it. :/

Yeah, Prayers for Japan did show that a majority of the people are ok, which is great to hear. I hope now that they can get that power plant taken care of so no one else will be in danger.

On a positive side note, I bought from My Destiny Designs! I put in an order for the Papou Fruit Hair Clips! 8D They were too adorable to resist. Can't wait to get them in the mail~!

We were so excited to make those, you have no idea xD They just look so bright and pretty! You can also use them as decorative bag clips, I've noticed. 3nodding

Congratulations (super late, I know) Angel! Here's hoping that you have (or will) made it in! Since...you know...it's been months since you posted that announcement...

I graduated as well! I walked around the same time as you, but I had to complete one more semester. I actually had my very last day of doing actual work and having to go into the clinic. I am now officially an MFT! (That's mother ******** therapist fyi) I have *not* been around in months because I have been working hard to get my hours to graduate and find a job. Job is looking more and more likely now and I was actually invited for a second interview for a job in central PA. In the middle of no where. I'd be doing what I really want to do which is working with teens and their families though, so it'd be awesome if I got offered the job! Hopefully now that my life is slowing down a little (for the moment) I'll be around more!

Don't even worry about it Mugoi! My reply is just as late! I've hardly had time to be on Gaia myself, so I can understand. (Plus, I'm on Facebook more as Yama would know since I chat with her on there more than here. LOL sweatdrop ) And thank you! I'm glad to hear you graduated as well! Congrats Ms. Therapist! Good luck with job hunting. I'm still doing that as well. gonk soooo hard! Honestly. It should not be so difficult for graduates like this.

Oh and random note, I found your Tumblr Mugoi. LOL I subscribe to Sailor Failures, and one day noticed your screen name on there! You had commented on something she had posted and when I clicked, I found it it was you! Hahaha~ I subscribe to you now too through RSS feed, but the thing is I don't have a Tumblr so I haven't said Hi to you through that. XD (I'm sorry if it sounds stalker-ish, it's totally not my intention.) I just happened to come across you there.

Any way, how is everyone and what are you all up to? I'm currently enrolled in wedding planning classes. It's going by slowly but it's definitely a learning experience. So much research! Gah~

I actually just got hired by a company in MA. I'm moving up to Lowell on Saturday. Still trying to sort out whether or not I can afford internet the first month. crying I got a beautiful apartment for alarmingly cheap. The landlord is a sweet old Portuguese man and there's a Portuguese bakery not a minute walk from my front door! I hear ya though. The job hunt was terrible. Lots of rejection and being ignored. I did find Career Builder to be a helpful website. Have you checked there? I also made a spreadsheet of what jobs I applied for, the company, the location, who to contact, phone/fax/email, date I applied, and date the listing expired. It made it a lot easier to keep everything organized.

lol What a small internet world! Yeah, I have two tumblrs actually. The one you found is my one where I occasionally reblog or post things. My other one (casualcomestibles.tumblr.com) is the one I'm most active on. That's my recipe blog. I cook, take pictures, then post the recipes! It's worth getting a tumblr account. It organizes everyone you follow all on one page and you just scroll down and see what everyone posted!

Congratulations with the wedding planning classes! I hope they go well. Here's hoping they'll help you find a job more easily! Lord knows a fancy degree only gets you so far these days!

Congrats on the job! And finding a nice apartment for a good price! Honestly housing (among other things) is ridiculous now-a-days. =_= Such highway robbery! LOL But it's cool that you live close to a bakery. Fresh yummy bread right when you step out! You'll never be in short supply of it. XD I hope you'll be able to get internet! I remember having to go without it for 6 months and I thought I was going to die. Gah~ so bad!

As for Career builder, I haven't tried it, but with my current classes, I'm so busy that half of me doesn't want to get a job. It's still up in the air for me right now, because I know I need it, but at same time I currently think I can't handle it. I'm semi hoping that I can wait out the classes and get an internship right after. Hmm, we'll see I guess.

Yeah, I've been debating on getting a Tumblr because I rarely blog now. My Live Journal is dead, and I feel like my Tumblr would meet the same fate if I were to get one. XD Plus, I don't need another distraction when I already have so many accounts to a bunch of other things. But one day I will most likely get one for my wedding planning stuff. wink I checked out your cooking one and it's really cool. The Ninja gingerbread is brilliant! I'll have to try it out one of these days when I'm in the mood for it.

I wouldn't have to go that long, but probably like, a month or half a month, until I get my first paycheck. Depends on how much I get set back with moving and what not. Right now I'm working off of my savings which is not all that much. Oh man...I'm so excited to be moving tomorrow though!

Is it possible for you to get an internship while you're in classes? I know sometimes it can be tough if you're not actually in school. A lot of people want current students. (though I don't know about wedding planning and how that field works) Also, from my experience, I suggest that you start looking for an internship before classes are over just so you have a lot of time to find one. That's the mistake I made. I looked for an internship the month before I wanted one and there was only one place left. Everyone else had offers from several places because they had been looking for a several months. Also, have you considered doing the dreaded retail work? Like only working weekends so you get some money but you're not overwhelmed with classes? I should have been doing that during my internship and school, but I wasn't. Bad choice there.

Lol I can't remember the last time I wrote in my Livejournal! My tumblr is generally fairly dead but I'm actually keeping the cooking one going because, well, I love cooking! I did really like the ninjabread men. They were super tasty and wouldn't have been nearly as fun without the ninja cookie cutters!
