Paige couldn't help but giggle at the almost pink bike that squeaked as they walked. "How long have you had that bike?" She eyed it with a small smirk. It looked about ready to fall apart, but a little... Well, a lot of elbow grease could fix it up. The squeak at least. That must be annoying to listen to all the time.
"I've had that! It's pretty good!" She bounced around as they neared the shop. Her mind was busy dreaming of that mint and chocolate chip ice cream to come. She almost missed Naois' question. "What? Lemon sprinkles?" She thought for a moment, hand on the door. "I'm pretty sure they do! I don't think I've tried them before though." She opened the door with a little giggle. "If you're going to leave your bike outside, I'll save us a spot in line. But hurry!" She smiled excitedly, "it may move fast!"

Naois's cheeks started to turn a odd shade of red that ironically almost matched the color of his bike. "It was my uncles when he was a kid. He said I could use it to get around until I earn enough for a scooter." He answered Paige while keeping his head down. When they finally reached the shoppe, Naois angled his bike towards the bike rack there. "Sure! You go ahead and do that. I'll be right in." He nudged her verbally before kneeling to lock his bike up.
It was strange wasn't it? Naois had come to volunteer, just expecting to have a little conversation if he was lucky. Now he was getting ice cream with a new friend. Grinning some he pocketed his key and pushed the door of the shop open. Entering he glanced about, then moved to join Paige in line. "Was that quick enough?" He asked with a small grin. he paused to glance around, then found himself asking. "So hey Paige... what school do you go to?"

Paige was like a kid in a candy store.... Or like a kid in an ice cream shop. She was giddy and bouncy and excited just waiting in line. Like she hadn't had ice cream in forever. Or like the sweetness of the shop was making her hyper. She barely noticed that her new friend had joined her in line until he spoke up. She almost jumped out of her skin.
"I go to Valley High!" She nodded with a wide smile. "Home of the Bumble Bees!" Paige just thought that was the cutest mascot ever. As they inched up in line, she couldn't decide on what she wanted. Her previous choice of mint chocolate chip was giving way to the many others. To keep herself distracted, she decided to follow up on Naios' question. "What about you?" She inquired, "What school do you go to?" She turned to him with her bright eyes lit up in excitement. "And are you still going for a scooter?" She remembered their earlier conversation where she could have sworn he turned a bit red.

When Paige jumped at hearing his voice, Naois couldn't help but laugh softly. "Vally huh? I go to Applereach. Home of..." He paused and lifted a finger to his temple. Lightly scratching at it he got a faintly embarrassed look on his face. "Afraid I don't know. I'm actually not that much into sports. I prefer...books." He hesitated, then smiled some what as the scooter was brought up. "Eventually. I want to make sure I have enough saved up for gas and possible repairs if they are needed. I like to be prepared." Naois glanced ahead as it came up to be their turn at the glass display case. Naois leaned forwards, then pointed his finger downwards. "You know what...could I have a scoop of vanilla with some caramel sauce on top? I'd like it in a cup please." He told the person behind the counter. He glanced over at Paige with a faint smile. "I think I'm just in a simple mood today after all."

"But sports games are fun! So much energy! So much excitement!" She giggled. "But I still don't attend many myself. I find myself in my garden most of the time." She nodded as he talked and they moved up in line. "I can't say I would have thought that far ahead..." Paige turned from Naois to place her order. "I.... I'll just have a mint chocolate chip! One scoop please." She turned back to Naois. "Sometimes simple is best. But I couldn't pass up my favorite." She smiled paying for the sticky treat before receiving it. "Want to have a seat before we finish and have to part ways?" She gestured to an empty seat.

Excitement? Naois wanted to tell Paige that his life already had more then enough excitement in it. Though that would open the door to questions he simply couldn't answer. So instead he smiled and shrugged his shoulders. Naois too the ice cream as it was handed to him, then slipped some money onto the counter. He quickly pocketted his change, then turned to find a two seat table where they could sit. "Sure." He answered with another nod of his head. If he kept this up his head was going to bob right off! Naois sat himself down and began to dig into his ice cream. "I can't help but think ahead. Most of my life has been spent preparing for what might come next." Naois poked his ice cream around in his dish and chuckled softly. "I wanna say thanks for hanging out with me. This has been a fun day."

After another incident of her ice cream dripping down her hands, Paige answered Naois back, "Well, you've got a one up on me!" She smiled and laughed before taking a bite out of her ice cream. The cold treat let her pause momentarily before continuing. "I'm more of a 'seat of the pants' kind of girl. I hardly ever plan things." She laughed, "And even when I do, I don't plan them right. Everything tends to go wrong." She let out a little sigh before finishing off her treat.
"I'm glad to be of service!" She would have shook his hand but it was covered in a sticky film. "We'll have to do this another time, right?" She grinned optimistically with a little wink. "And then you can visit my garden! Help me pull weeds and stuff!" She giggled, standing up from her seat. "I'll see you around, ok?" She waived at Naois with a smile, skipping out the door to find her way back home.
