Want followed behind Stardust as he carried the skeleton back to his den, traipsing about anxiously at his sides, worried that a piece of bone might fall off and get lost and then the buck would no longer be willing to give her the promised bit of treasure. They made it there with the entire thing intact, however, and Want sighed with relief when the skeleton slid off Stardust's back all in one piece.
Undecorated Desire was at the Stardust's treasure collection almost before the buck had finished speaking. "Shiny!" she exclaimed, surprised at the gleam of some of the bones. "I had no idea they would be so pretty!"

Stardust smiles, walking up behind her. "Of course they are. Not all are bones, though. There are some sparkly, sort of clear, stones in there as well." He walks around to the other edge, dipping his head in to nose around. At the bottom of the pile are an assortment of colored rocks, some nearly clear and others having a smoky quality. "They make the sun dance when it shines on them. Go ahead and take your pick." He says, pulling his head up and sitting on his haunches.

Undecorated Desire's eyes widen as Stardust pushes aside some of the bones to reveal the sparkling stones underneath. "Oh my," she cooed, leaning in for a closer look at the different colors. "These are beautiful." She already could see the spot in her cave where she would put such stones as these, in a nook where the sun would shine on them and they would catch the light so prettily. One in particular caught her eye -- it was pink, nearly the size of one of her smaller secondary horns, and almost entirely clear except for a patch of smoky white in the center. "May I have that one?"

"Yes, but.. just the one? It seems a small payment considering the work." Stardust frowns slightly, remembering that Want hadn't wanted to touch the bones at all. "You can have more, if you'd like." He almost told her she could take all of the sparkle stones, he has no use for them, but didn't want her to feel she was being over payed. This way, Want can decide how much her task was worth.

Want's eyes light up with greed at Stardust's offer for her to take more of the pretty stones, and she hardly looks at the buck when she says, not quite convincingly, "Oh, you don't have to do that!" She is already digging back through the pile of stones and bird skulls, picking out more of the shiny ones that catch her eye.
In the end, she has a small pile of the stones, glittering in the sunlight. Want looks at them and then back to the hollow stump, her eyes catching on one more thing she wants. "And this, perhaps," she says, pulling the tiniest, whitest bird skull from the treasure horde and placing it atop her small pile of stones, "to remember you by."

Stardust grins at her picks, until the last one. He frowns slightly when Want takes the skull, looking ready to protest until she says why. "In that case we'll both remember the other. I couldn't have brought that skeleton intact with out you." He says. Turning he walks into the brush, after much thrashing Stardust returns with two large leave. Setting them down near Want's pile he arranges them so they cross over each other. "If you put them in the middle here and gather the leaf corners it'll be easier to carry." He walks away a few steps then stops, turning partway around. "Maybe we could go treasure hunting sometime. At the least drop by whenever, if you want." With that he turns back and heads to his newest skeleton, to determine what - if any - cleaning and repairs will be needed before he displays it.

Want is too absorbed in her pleasure at her haul to notice Stardust's frown. "Thank you so much, Stardust," she says, beginning to place her stones and the skull in the center of the leaves. "It was a pleasure to help." Only a little bit of a lie. It was a pleasure to receive such great additions to her treasure hoard. The work was less so, but definitely worth it. "I'd love to go treasure hunting with you sometime," she replied as she folded up the leaves around her stones. "I live near a waterfall not too far from the stream we met at. If you ever need to find me, come there. I'm not always around, but my lynx, Treasure Hoarder, will be there. If you find him, he'll find me. He's pink -- pretty easy to spot. I'll see you around," she finished, smiling once more before picking up her leaf-wrapped treasures and heading back home.
