Xing decided to lean her head on Bedford's neck, choosing to want the comfort rather than running away from it again. A few small tears ran down her cheek onto Bedford's coat. She knew that she had locked her emotions away a long time ago, but if someone was willing to fill her empty heart with love, she had no choice but to accept... Right?
She returned Bedford's affection by nuzzling his neck a little bit, all while wiping off a few of her tears unintentionally. "I-I... I'm scared that... I want to love and be loved so badly, that sometimes... I close off again."
Love seemed to come and go with Xing. She always held it in her heart, but randomly, she would start to pull away again. "What if I push you away? What if... What if I cause you not to want me anymore?" More tears started to run down her cheek.

Things had changed, changed for better. He nuzzled her gently, feeling her tears running on to his skin. "You can't push me hard enough to push me away from you. Love doesn't mean...leaving when it's tough, it means staying no matter what."
He shut his eyes for a moment, "There's no way to stop me from being here. No way at all."

Xing looked up at the sky and then looked up into Bedford's eyes. She saw that he was crying. Xing knew that it wasn't ever day that she'd meet a stallion that was willing to just open up and cry like that. Through her own tears, she smiled and nuzzled his neck again before looking into his eyes.
"Please," she whispered as she looked into his eyes with a strange emotion mixed with hope in fear. "If... If I ever build up walls against you, don't let them stay up, okay?"
She had been alone for so long that it was hard for her to let some of her emotions out. But along side Bedford, some of the emotional walls around her had fallen and she wanted him to break them down. She wanted to be able to act like the young, playful mare she was, not one that seemed so serious because of her past.

Bedford breathed in her essence, the smell of fragrant blossoms lingering on her skin. It was a smell, he knew he'd never be able to separate from Xing-Xing. "I promise."
It wasn't a hard promise. It was going to be quite easy to keep. No matter if he should leave or should give up, he wouldn't be able to. He'd just...have to surrender to her over and over again. He was at her mercy, that was the plain and simple truth of it. He would love her forever. There would not be a wall he couldn't go past, a river too wise, or whatever. Nothing could or would separate them again.
"I won't leave you. Just don't leave me." He nosed her gently as closed his eyes. This would last.

Xing closed her eyes and leaned slightly against him. "I know... I feel scared, but Bedford... I feel like he'll be here for me..." She was just there, sharing in his warmth. The feeling of another beside her was a little intimidating, but... so comforting at the same time.
She smiled and looked up at him again. "I won't leave you as long as you leave me." Xing nuzzled his nose with hers. "I guess that means we're stuck together huh?"
Putting her head down on the grass, she looked up at the stars as well as Bedford. She had left her old life for a reason, and now... Now she had a reason to live for the future. "I never know what's going to happen in the future, but... But I know it'll be a lot better than my past..."

Bedford breathed deeply leaning in to her. It felt so odd that this was the way his new life was beginning. He felt safe and happy, it's not something he had ever remembered feeling before. He'd never had a chance at family, of a normal life--of love. Here it was--his chance and he wasn't going to blow it. He couldn't blow it. No matter how hard it was, or how hard it would get. This was it, he was in for whatever happened.
It was as easy as that. One minute you're wandering if you'll ever fall in love or be happy. You'll wonder if there's anything better than adventure, and then you find out the truth. Adventure doesn't mean anything without someone to adventure with. Life doesn't mean anything without someone to love you.
Now though he had it all, when he didn't even know what he was looking for a few minutes ago. Funny how things happened, wasn't it?
