Not too far behind Deimos was Rex, and with Rex was King. Unlike Deimos, the two were really late. Rex had a match with the rest of his b-ball playing gang at Criffelance Castle, and had totally forgotten the time, until his mother stepped in and unceremonusly ended the game.
"Uh... h'lo." "Chrrrk!"

"You get lost, Rex?" He asked, not in anyway implying that was what had happened to him. He had to keep his pride, ya know, and having it known that he got lsot jsut getting to class, well that wouldn't do his reputation any good.

"Um, no. I had too much fun back at the Castle, and forgot the time," was the reply, touched with a hint of embarassment.
"Why? Are you?

Salem smiled down at Reid about to reply before he heard the other two coming. "Hey kids! You're a bit late! Come on over, sit down, and take out a notebook and something to right with."
Looking up at his dragon friend he spoke again, "That's Deimos. You remember hearing about him right? The taller ones are the twins Rex and King. I told you I met them when I came to get a look around the area."
The colussal dragon nodded slightly, "Yes, I remeber. Nice to meet you two." The dragon's voice rumbled deeply again. Watching them with his right eye, the only one that still worked.
Salem started to continue then, handing a permission slip to each of the late students as he spoke. "To answer your question Reid, yes, there are many kinds of dragons. Some are more common then others. Geribith here is a rather rare kind. Very few people ever get to see one of them. The most common dragons are separated into two groups. The five Chromatic dragons and the five Metallic dragons."

Aphrodite raised her hand immeadiately. "The five chromatic dragons are generally evil, while the mettalic ones are usually good... right? I know Garreth's a chromatic dragon, but he's good.. it was because he was raised by someone other than his own kind, right?"

"That's true! Chromatic dragons are evil for the most part while Metallics as good. This is not written in stone however. If you take any one of them when they are just hatchlings, they could be easily swayed. There are also many kinds of dragons that are neutral, like Geirbith here." He smiled down at the tiny wasp-child as he expanded on what she said before motioning up to his large draconic friend.

' Know it all.' Al though towards her, but the tone sounded playful.
'Hehe. I like to read... alot.' She smiled as she began to write notes, doodling a picture of Gairbith, next tot he paragraph titled Chaos Dragons.

Looking up at the gigantic dragon, Deimos couldn't help but feel a little intimidated. But something in what Salem said struck him.. "So.. something nnormally evil can be good too, right?" He asked, as if to reiterate the point..

Reid glanced at Rex and Dei's voices and waved to the two taller Mishaps before looking back to Salem jotting down a few notes, "what makes the Chromatic dragons 'evil'?" he asked after a moment, leaning on his hands.

"Well, yes. Nothing it truly good nor truly evil. Any alignment can be swayed. The trick is, how hard is it to do? The more evil something is the harder it is to make it good. Just like making extremely good things evil is very hard. But it also depends on how early you get to them. Let's take evil dragons. If you go up to an grown dragon it will be very hard to make them good. On the other hand if you take the same dragon at a much younger age if not straight out of the egg you can change it much more easily. The older it gets the more set it will be." He explains before turning to Reid to answer his question.
"Well... That's a little hard to explain. The chromatic dragons are all evil on different degrees, but why they are like that is hard to say. They have been like this for hundreds of years. It continues today because their parents teach them to be like this, but what started it all, I wouldn't know. I don't think the dragons themselves know anymore. Um... If you mean what they do to be called 'evil' that's a little easier to answer. They are very greedy and most of them will stop at nothing to get what they want. It all depends on which ones. For example, have you ever heard of villages having to hand over a virgin a month to a dragon? That's very comon of the red dragon, the most evil among the chromatics. Red dragons are the classic evil, fire breathing dragons."

Oo, red dragons. Grinning Aphrodite raised her head from her notes, then her hand. "Is it true that Red dragons often ask for a virgin sacrifice to eat?"
'Virgin sacrifices? Seriously?'
' Yeah, Mama told me about it while I was reading a book about dragons.'
' Do you even know what a virgin is?'
'...No.' she thought in response, with a blank expression.
The small plushie slapped it's forehead.

'...mmmm.. virgins.. those are the best kind..'
'You're sick...' Deimos thought back to the demon, though curiosity did spark in him.. I mean, something must be good about virgins for there to eb such a big hype about them.. "What's so great abotu virgins anyways? Do they taste better than normal girls or soemthing?" He asked idly, his tone even slightly joking.

"Well, red dragons aparently think they do. However, they are the only kind of dragon that really insists on it. Most dragons preffer something like cattle. That has more meat on it, but red dragons have a thing for the virgins. They insist there's a taste difference. Anyway, I'd like to get on with the lesson. First we'll go through the different stages in the life of a dragon. After that we'll go on brake. Then we'll go into some of the most common dragons and what you need to know about them." He waited a moment for them all to get out what they needed to take notes if they wanted them.
Gairbith settled himself down before the children, his huge form laying in a half circle before them.
Salem came over and settled down on his friends wrist, that long tail laying in front of him. He motioned to it, smiling. "You guys can have a seat on his tail if you like. it's a little nicer then the floor and you'll get to see what a dragon's scales feel like."
Gairbith smiled slightly and held still. How his scales felt very soft to the touch, but they were actually quite hard and protected him very well. They were also very small and smooth so that from a distance he looked more like he had skin instead of scales.
"Alright, now, all dragons start off as eggs. Depending on the kind of dragon they will be within the egg for 420 to 720 days. That's 1 year, 1 month, 3 weeks, and 3 days to 1 year, 11 months, and 2 weeks. Real long time to be cooped up in an egg doesn't it? The thing is 105 to 180 days are first inside the mother dragon's belly before the eggs are laid." He paused for a moment for those who wanted to take notes.
"Once little dragons hatch from their eggs, the babies are called wyrmlings. They are called wyrmlings for the first 5 years of their life. Now just because their babies, they aren't push overs. Even at this young age they can move normally within an hour of their hatching and some of them even know how to speak another language at birth. Amazing, eh?" Again came a short pause.
"Next, on their 6th birthday, they are now very young. Very young dragons are now double the size they were when they hatched and some even leave the lair at this point to find a home of their own. Some leave on their own while other's leave in small groups. Many also stay home for a while longer. They are very young until the age of 15." He waited once again.
"At 16 the dragon is now young. By this point dragons become very intellegent and they start to master their natural abilities such as flying and using their breath weapons. At this point most dragons have the need for their own lair and territory though some dragons stay close to their nestmates and parents so that their territories overlap. They also feel the need to start collecting their own hoard of treasure. This stage continues into the age of 25."
"Next comes the juvenile stage. They are now 26 years old. They are nowhere near the power of an adult, but they no longer look like children. Some kinds of dragons start to show magical powers at this point as well. This will continue till the age of 50."
"Now at the age of 51 we have reached the young adult stage. Dragons reach sexual maturity at this point and most waste no time in looking for a mate. A dragon's scales also change at this stage, developing into armor formidable enough to turn aside all but magic weaponry or the teeth and claws of other dragons. They are now mastering their first spells and have grown formidably intellegent. If they haven't left the lair by now they will be shooed out and have no choice but to find their own place. They will by stuck in this stage into the age of 100."
"And so we reach the adult stage. Dragons are not 101 to 200 years old. Dragons start to grow more slowly now, but they are now entering their prime. They are now becoming more powerful and healthy. They continue to hone their mental faculties and masters more skills and magic. At this point many dragons settle down with a mate and sometimes even share their lair with their mate and offspring."
"Mature adults range from 201 to 400 years old. There's little obvious physical change anymore, but they are still learning new things. By this stage of life, a dragon is truly a force to be reckoned with and they know it. Mature adults start showing a degree of self-confidence that younger dragons don't have. They usually don't seek out danger to prove themselves, but act with purpose and confidence, even going so far as to launch schemes that take years to complete. Because of a mature adult's power, wealth, and age, it seldom remains unnotice. It's name will often become known at least by other dragons and they often start becoming targets for adventurers and other dragons. One of the first things a mature adult needs to do it improve it's lair's defences. Some even move locations. A dragon never chooses a new lair quickly however, doing it slowly over time to make sure they can move their hoard safely."
"At 401 to 600 a dragon is old. They start to show some signs of aging. Things like chips and cracks at the edges of their scales. They start to darken and lose their shine, though metallic dragons do the opposite. In many dragons their irises fade away so that their eyes are just orbs of color."
"Very old dragons are 601 to 800 years old. They start mastering powerful magic now and are physically more durable. This is the last stage in life where the female dragon remains fertile and most females attempt to raise at least two clutches of eggs while they still had the chance."
"Once a dragon is 801 to 1,000 years old, they are ancient. By this point, female dragons can no longer lay eggs. Many females compensate by mentoring younger dragons of their own species, as do many males. Ancient dragons have little to fear from much younger dragons that have not yet reached adulthood. They have much wisdom and experience to pass on as well. Most dragons at this stage match the most brilliant human minds."
"Next comes the Wyrm stage. This is year 1,001 to 1,200. Most things respect a dragon at this point. Male dragons are now on their last leg of reproduction as well. This of course doesn't mean they're slowing down. Most try to get out as many clutches with as many females at this point as he can."
"Now we get into the last stage of a dragon's life. They are now 1,201 years old or older and are called great wyrms!" He motioned to his colossal friend. "When a dragon passes the twelve-century mark, it's mental any physical development is finally at an end, and the dragon is at the peak of its physical, mental, and magical powers. Guess what guys. That's the end of the ages for dragons! Does anyone have any questions about anything before we go on brake?" He sighed softly, finally stopping. Gods he needed a drink of water...

'But virgins do taste better...'
Ignoring Erebus' voice in his mind, Deimos listened intently.. Letting out a low whistles as Salem finished.. "So Garbirth is over 1,200 years old?" He asked.. That was old, older than Erebus even.
'What a geizer...'

As each word left Salem's lips, they were immeadiately down on paper. The tiny wasp mishap was writing at full speed, and oddly enough her handwriting was decent. After the long winded explantation of the stages, she looked up from her finished notes, and saw the look on Salem's face.
Raising her hand, she looked a bit concerned.. "Salem, are you ok?"
