Mistress Elle

PostPosted: Sat Feb 25, 2006 11:13 am

Elle marvelled at the girl's rebound, watching her squeal and bounce right back up. Nodding vaguely, trying to grasp the story, Elle wiggled one finger in thought. "You know, I can make you a little something, for your room at least. A bit of skunk cabbage, a little fennel...yes!" She wasn't exactly muttering, but obviously Elle was talking to herself.

Locking eyes with Erishi again, Elle smiled and nodded. "Spider Repellant! All natural herbs, in a little tiny pouch. You'd just have to hang it in your window, where the sun could warm it! It wouldn't hurt them, just keep them away! What do you think?"

And, though she didn't bother mentioning it, all the materials were baby safe in case Shammi decided to snack out of the pouch. Not tasty, but not harmful. Of course, Elle coudln't imagine wanting to keep spiders out of your room...without spiders, there were too many bugs!

Kudzu froze as Shammi grabbed his toes. The silence lasted only a moment before Kudzu began to giggle...a rustling, leafy sound with perfect pitch. Wiggling a bit, he tried to sit up...reaching for Shamilade's head.

After a moment, he grasped Shammi's tail, and gave it a tug as he tried to sit straight. "Oh! Naaaaahaha!" Still gasping with laughter, his little hand flapped...the universal 'grabby hand' gesture as he finally managed to sit up straight. That tickled! Startled for a moment as a leaf drifted down from his crown, Kudzu plucked it up from his lap with awkward little fingers...offering it to Shammi for all to see. Maybe she'd want one!

He'd grown it himself, after all.

"That would be good!" Erishi cheered, throwing both hands in the air happily. "No more icky spiders, crawling over Erishis and making them hurt themselves! No more spiders! No more spiders!" She started to sing in a sing-song tone, bouncing more.

Shammi leaned closer reaching for the leaf. Once she had it, she carefully put it on her head, like Kudzu! "Ha!" She said, clapping her hands. She leaned closer to him so he could see. Now they were alike! How nice!

Shoulders relaxing at Erishi's pleasure, Elle nodded with a quiet smile. She wasn't sure why the young woman made her vaguely nervous, and in truth didn't wish to think any harder on it. "No more! I'll bring it by on Thursday, to Shamilade's room!"

Kudzu peered up at his companion and gasped, pale eyes wide. Shammi was so close, he could reach out and touch her! Doing just that, Kudzu patted the other Mishap between her unusual eyes. His hand settled gently as he was suddenly overtaken by a yawn, eyes squeezing shut as his cheeks rose. "Mmmmmyah!"

Glancing up at the babe, Elle smiled...leaning to the side to smooth his ruffled green hair. "Aww, he's getting tired. Let's meet up again soon, Erishi. Thank you for a lovely day!" Winking at little Shammi, Elle draped the blanket she'd brought over one arm and scooped Kudzu up, holding him loosely as he yawned again. Playing with Shammi had been too much fun!

{Yet another open-for-anyone RP. biggrin Yummy lemonade!}

"I've never made lemonade before, you know." Chin confessed to Sabriel. They'd set up a table at the edge of the gardens, outfitted with the proper tools, and now the young woman sat staring at two lemons in her hands, completely befuddled on how to start. Pulling the juicer closer, she gave the lemons a nervous glance, then took a deep breath and leaned forward as far as allowed, given her stomach. "Here goes..."

Sabriel didn't even flinch when she shrieked in pain and flailed, just continued stalking through the bushes. Prince was perched on the table (and now splattered in lemon juice) where he could keep an eye out for danger.

Rubbing lemon juice out of her eyes and muttering obscenities under her breath, Chin finally recovered enough to give the lemonade another go. This time it worked. Sighing relief, she proceeded to mix up a pitcher the old-fashioned way, semi-hoping someone would come along to share it. It was a beautiful day, after all - perfect for a walk in the garden.

Delphine and Kay were strolling around the garden and maze area happily chattering away to each other. Rosa had insisted they go outside and get some fresh air and sunshine before they turned into vampires; so Delphine had been packed into the stroller, along with Roo and her sheepy and the enevitable bag of baby supplies slung over the handles.

Delphine was happily looking around and smelling the nice smells as they strolled along until a twangy scent hit her nose. She rubbed at it in irritation and was about to voice a loud and grumpy complaint to her mother when they both heard a shriek.

"Are you alright?" Kay called out from over a hedge, being far taller than Delphi of course, she had been able to see the woman over the bushes lining the pathway.

Chin jumped at the sound of another voice, jostling the table in the process. She reached for the pitcher before it spilled, steadied it, and twisted around in her seat, having to search a little to find the speaker. Matching voice and face didn't help; but she looked okay. "Fine, fine." she dismissed it, deliberately avoiding the thought of lemon juice, which began burning again at the first reminder. At least most of it was gone.

"Come on over? We have lemonade!" It was hard not to sound pleading. Sabriel as company was no company at all, and meeting new people was always nice.

Speaking of Sabriel...the cat toddler had snatched a lemony Prince off the table at the first sign of someone else and now slunk towards Delphi and Kay through the grass, doing his best to keep hidden. Almost the same time as Delphi, he sniffed; then coughed, stopping in amazement. Cat!

Cat. Cat and...fish? What?

Kay took in the sight of the table with the scattered lemons and clapped her hands together gleefully. "Real proper homemade lemonade? Wow I haven't had that in forever!"

Delphine squirmed in the stroller, she really didn't want to go any closer, the funny smell made her nose tingle annoyingly. But unfortunately for her, Kay didn't seem to notice and wheeled them off the path and towards the lady.

"Sure Delphi and I would love to join you. What could be better than sitting outside on a nice day like this and drinking lemonade?"
Suddenly she stopped, clapped a hand to her mouth and blushed furiously. "Sorry, here I am babbling away and inviting myself over and I haven't even introduced myself. I'm Kay, and the one in the stroller is Delphine."
Kay bent over the stroller and poked Delphi gently in her yellow sundress covered side. "Say hello Delphi-pooh."

Delphine had however become suddenly distracted from the annoying smell and her mother's even more annoying nicknames, her yellow eyes had spotted a black shape slinking through the grass. She pulled her rather battered kangaroo plushie into her arms and gripped him tightly. What was out there? Was it a monster? Her fins flared and her tail puffed in panic at this thought.

[ Rp w/ Aphrodite & Lenore ]

Taking a deep breath he smiled as he sat in the garden, the night encrouching closer he sipped his tea quietly, a single eye open looking down at his charge who was happily sitting within his play pen and chewing on a nerfball. He sat on what looked to be iron wrought chair and table, but obviously not, since the real thing would harm him and Istu. A wagonful of books about magic and potions nearby, all opened or pages marked. Before him was a book describing lessons on making sound with wind, many lines were highlighted, and many pages were marked. Looking up once more, he realized how dark it had gotten, lifting his index finger he lazily summoned a band of fire flies to light the area.

Istu, giggle at the fireflies that began to make it's way out. Oo, the would was so much more interesting as the big light in the sky went to bed. His large brown eyes wandered from side to side and he chewed on his toy contently. Quickly he popped the hand sized squish-ball out of his mouth, throwing it down to the floor. "Swee!" He chimed, a happy smile on the reindeer fawn's face. "Swee!" He raised his arms high, demanding a sweet thing of some kind.

Baxterfullous merely shook his head, looking over to his tea-time friend. "So, how's your mother comming along?" He spoke softly as he reached into the playpen and picked up the cooing baby. Picking out from the treats that were before him he took a bowl of peach slices and fork in hand slowly began feeding Istu his evening snack.

The young wasp mishap sat on the opposite end of the small round metal table that was served tea, drinking from a thimble she blinked at the question. "Grumpy and as big as a house." She stated bluntly, finishing her rose tea, before dunking the thimble into her cup for more. Laughing softly, she shrugged. "She's ok. Salem's as happy as a clam about, and so's she." Though she did reframe from mentioning that Catherin's father did send them a letter, but that was beside the point. "She's ok, me and the sibs have been taking good care of her." sipped a bit more, before putting it down.

The wasp and the cat, along with their riendeer guest had been working for the past few hours on improving the mishap's ability to create sound with her wind. Though, difficult she had been making progress.

"Ethaaaan! Lookit, lookit! There's another one!"

Ethan looked around, squinting in the dim light of dusk through his glasses.

"Where? I don't see it."

"There, there! Right by the tree! Get it!"

Biting back a laugh, Ethan crept up to the birch tree, stalking his prey with care. He lashed out suddenly, cupping the unwary firefly in his hands. He passed it over to a delighted Lenore, who put it tenderly in the enormous glass jar at her feet. The little insect joined its fellows, buzzing around and glowing like a star.

"Oooh, they're so pretty," she said, staring at the fireflies in awe. "Too bad Mum and Julian aren't here tonight. They'd love this,"

Ethan nodded. It wasn't often the siblings went off to do...well, whatever it was they did to bond. Probably burying evidence. Watching Lenore jump around the grounds catching fireflies, Ethan grinned as he thought of how much she resembled his youngest sister at that moment. Granted, Lenka didn't have wings or gray skin, but that was beside the point. They acted the same for the most part. Even their names were alike.

Looking around, Ethan wondered briefly if there was anyone else around. Len liked him well enough, but she often wandered off looking for kids to play with.

Baxterfullous couldn't help himself but laugh at the mishap's frankness. "Well, Pregnant woman are grumpy... and fairly large."The catfolk shrugged, grinning a bit as he fed his son peaches. "Well, I'm glad they are happy.. and you being so responsible." He smiled a bit, as he pushed the book he was reading as so as he wouldn't soil it.

"Aphrodite, I think our break is over. Review lesson 4, mimicking voices." He said turning towards Istu, feeding him.

Istu opened his mouth wide, his eyes closed. "Aaaaaaaahh.." He cooed, chomping down ont he squishy fruit.

Blinking, Bax's ears twitched, his eyes glancing in the direction of the new sounds. "Hmm."

The young mishap nodded before pouring the rest of her tea outo f the thimble and back into the large ceramic tea-cup. Flying off the table and over towards a bush, she held up her hands above her head, and then gasped at the sight of her friend. "Len!" She waved, flying over towards the raven mishap.

For a moment, Ethan was certain that an overlarge wasp with brilliant magenta hair was calling out to Lenore. He blinked and stared at the creature as it flew by, realizing it was a little girl. A faerie, maybe?

"What the..."

"Dite! Heya!"

Waving to Aphrodite, she screwed on the cap to her firefly jar carefully before standing up to greet the girl. "Jeez, I haven't seen you in ages. How've you been?"

Glancing over quickly at Ethan, who had a distinctly stunned look on his face, she grinned.

"That's Ethan. He's my brother, kinda. He lives with us now," she said. "Say hi, Ethan!"

Surprised at himself that after all this time in Gaia he could find a faerie-girl shocking, Ethan waved feebly.

"Hello," he said.

The black cat folk frizzed for a moment, his tail bottle brushing out at the loud sudden noises. Quickly, he composed himself realizing it was just Lenore, and another he hadn't met by the sounds that came from over the brush and trees. Seeing as he was stuck here, feeding Istu he sighed and simply waited to be acknowledged.

Istu on the other hand dipped his finger gingerly into the warm tea, placing said finger quickly in his mouth to taste the contents. Cooing at the sweet taste he dipped his finger in again, and repeated the process.
