((Ah ok then Colm, sorry lol))

Looking around to the group once more he smiled lightly, "I guess those are good enough answers for me. Well, good as any really." he said with a chuckle, noting the tension between Takezo and Maikeru and tucking that little tidbit of information away for later use. Grinning widely at Drift's comment he then noted a vaguely familiar reiatsu in the air, "Ah so the big man himself decided to grace us with his presence eh?" he thought with a sense of impish glee, this would be the first time he had really been around his new captain for an extended period of time, shortly after that Tezuka appeared to help out the downed Takezo. After doing so the captain gave Zaine a look that let him know it was time to get on with the show already, nodding back to his captain he turned to the group and cleared his throat. "Okay then people, let's get this party started. First exercise is simple, I want you to engage in a sparring match between each other. Team ups are ok, but so is a battle royal, just use any means short of lethal force to take out your opponents. Commence training now." He said plainly, heading back towards Tezuka to keep an eye on the group while staying out of their way. "So Captain, what do you think of this group? Do they have any hope?" He inquired lightly, curious to see if his captain could find the potential hidden in their rough group.

While the condemned Lieutenant spouting his fashionably stiff sentences, Takezo was fixed on the subject of who to take first. He had a choice between Drift, whom he knew basically nothing about, and the newbie Maikeru. Both were enigmas as far as he was concerned, he didn't know the extent of their ability. But he was the Fourth-Seat, therefore that was one assumption to go on. He couldn't decide whether or not the mask on the shy man was a gimmick or if he was covered in scars making him completely hideous or something of a similar tale, but it had to limit his field of vision to some extent... though that wasn't always important considering they all had a bit of a sixth sense. Maikeru... wasn't really much to look at himself. Curly haired b*****d, with a iris defect that looked like he was just hiding a bit too much to be a pushover at the least.
A first attempt plan came to the vengeful addict, he would go for Maikeru right off the melon, then hopefully he could draw Drift into a quick skirmish with Maikeru to give demonstration of his abilities. Then a quick and reckless analysis would ensue in the pervert's mind and he would strike both down accordingly. It was perfect in a perfect perverted, tobacco addicted, malign, listless, world. And a preemptive strike was in order.
Biting his lower lip, Takezo glared at Maikeru and Drift, periodically alternating his gaze, waiting for an order to start kicking a**. His prayers answered by his true target Takezo drew his wakizashi backhand and stepped at Maikeru throwing a punch slightly to the left of the man's chest. Takezo recently thought of this style, the wakizashi wasn't the main threat, but was a halfway fallback. If the target didn't think through and dodged outside without a dive they were liable to get cut. This was some serious business today, Takezo's goal was to get to the Lieutenant after dealing with the whelps, a full focus was invested.

Maikeru's eyes twinkled slightly in a amusement as his new Taicho arrived and picked the Fourth seat up off his a**. His eyes tracked him slightly as he made is way off to the side and out of the way of the melee that was about to ensue. He didn't have nearly the sense of formality and sheer heavily restrained power that all the other Captains he had met seemed to leak from their very pores. No, the feeling, the vibe from this man was one of destruction and violence, of chaos roped and trussed into doing this man's bidding. He was easy going, and didn't demand the separation most Captain's did. Maikeru sighed in relief and chuckled a little. This may be the squad for keeping peace and keeping the others in line. The...police, of the Sereitei, he shuddered at the thought, a small amount of gorge rising in his throat. But it seemed here he could return to doing things his own way, and not the ways dictated by his superior.

Maikeru listened calmly to his friend, and superior now, Zaine as he spoke, laying out the short and thankfully easily defined perameters of what they were to do. No lethal force? Damn, I havn't been able to let loose in ages. Restraint has its place as well ya null. But you may be right...these two look like they can handle it...go wild. Wha..you...when....ho..hunh?!?!? Maikeru mentally spluttered, his eyes widening slightly in surprise. She never gave her blessing for something like this... You really don't like this one either do you? Throw his A**.

Coincidentally Takezo's quick draw and forward attack towards Maikeru coincided almost perfectly with the ending of the inner dialogue. His attention snapped back to the present. Normally, he would've immediately resorted to his knives to defend himself. However is intensive training in Kido over the past months had given his reflexes a more rounded and suitable way of responding. It was just as Captain Kiisho had been grinding into his bones. Emotion and reaction together created one hell of a party. Takezo's foot came down on the ground carrying him towards Maikeru...Anger and rage for the explosive force...his reiatsu leapt several notches from its calm resting state to condense and ready itself for use...The arm and wakizashi drew back to gain the force necessary for the upcoming attack...Calm, stability, determination, rockhard resolve, all for the shell... The shaped and readied energy flashed down the channels opened in his system and gathered in his palm, the emotion, thoughts, and feelings giving it the power necessary to send this ****** flying.

Maikeru smiled genially and ,with a motion exactly like that of a wave(He's left handed by the way), brushed against the blunt end of Takezo's hilt, or, it would have had Maikeru not spoken and the Bakudo been released. "Bakudo Number Eight, Seki." The swirling ball of energy barely had time to exit his palm before it was triggered by the contact with Takezo's fist and his wakizashi's kashira(end of the pommel). The explosive shockwave that resulted was a clear improvement of Maikeru's old attempts at Kido. Strengthened by training, utilized correctly with discipline, and with a slight spin on the usual angle for creativity created a blast with a 'flavor' clearly all the young Magnetic Shinigami's. The bakudo would likely do what is was designed to do. Throw his target back and off balance, disarming the threat of the current attack. However, on the slim chance it failed to, Takezo managing to carry through in some nigh on impossible way, well, Maikeru's fingers were itching to get into the fight.

"Idiot." Not an insult, not meant to enrage, enflame, or insult Takezo, it was simply a statement of fact. His voice tinged slightly with dissaproval he continued, "Rude as well, didn't even wait for proper introductions. Try again shall we?" Maikeru's right hand smootly lifted, as if for a handshake, "Moyashi Maikeru, former Fourth Seat of Squad Ten. And you are? His question posed to both of his fellow combatants he figured it likely to get two entirely separate reactions. From what he had read on Galewind in the archives he was whirlwind of power, reminiscent of his name, but clearly a polite and well brought up individual. From his impressions of this Takezo he expected either a pathetic attempt at a ringing insult, or an equally pathetic attempt on another assault.

Maikeru's feet hadn't moved an inch through the entire encounter, no muscle had gone beyond a state of careful control and relaxation, even his reiatsu was quickly calming back down to its previous levels once more.

Quite the surprise it was to Takezo, being able to dodge a preemptive strike with a minuscule to microscopic warning was clearly something that wasn't displayed in every clown. The attitude of the squad newbie had been getting on the flaring nerves of the crude fourth-seat, and he wasn't going to have some arrogant s**t show him up because he felt he had something to prove. Takezo had focused on a his own reaction as to what the man's would be, likely a physical counter strike since at this range a hadou would be asinine and a waste of breath so long as it would have been above novice, and he focused on the man's hands only after he mortally wounded the surrounding air space to make way for a new atmosphere.
A morsel of energy formed and made the cones upon Takezo's retina fire in an unexpected manner, bringing his attention to the bakudo spell being used a silly counter, and was successful to a degree had Takezo been so easily crushed by surprises. A rough and abrupt sensation ran up his arm, realizing this is probably how helicopters probably felt when they crashed into a sturdy wall or hit the ground blades first. But he wasn't a weak little Red Cross food helicopter, he was a ********' Cobra.
The earth of the arena ground and tumbled under his feet as he slid back on the crude gravel, making the noises of roaring lizards and pool night at the bar from the grinding and battering of pebbles and the select rocks that probably weren't meant to be there, and were probably thrown by rowdy and displeased crowds.
"Idiot" was a resounding claim amongst Takezo's opponents, but in his egomaniacal mind the very idea that they had honestly analyzed him fully was but bluffs and words of cowardly self-support. At the time Takezo had regained his forward balance he launched himself again while the man tried to introduce himself. "If you got time to talk you got time to be under my foot bro." An approximate six feet away from the fellow Shinigami who was thinking polite manners would win this fight, Takezo dropped his back leg to a slide at the man's feet. A moment of physical satire, before his foot would be opportune to kick out the newbie, it retracted and the leg managing as an anchor pivoted into a quick spin and kick-off. Rising about a foot from the ground Takezo's right leg used the momentum from the spin and folded out to the hand outstretched to honorable mannerisms.

((I'm just assuming here that you are using your left hand for the handshake offer bro. If not then meh.))

((gotcha))

Maikeru's perpetual smile failed to falter in the slightest as Takezo recovered remarkably well from the Kido. The dirt and sand settled to reveal, once more, his opponent charging forward recklessly. His head shook side to side with a miniscule motion. "My god, at first it was simply a shallow observation, now it seems you are, by definition, truly an idiot." Maikeru's eyes didn't move from Takezo, Drift seemed to be taking his own sweet time entering the fight, and so for now he would cease to feature in the troublemakers thoughts. Within a few feet of Maikeru Takezo dropped and slid, his leg revolving, as if planning to sweep Maikeru's feet out from underneath him. His mind twitched. Easily avoided. In the instant before his own legs would be swept from underneath his body, leaving an opportunity for Takezo's prophecy to come true, he smoothly stepped back and to the side, following the sweep slightly.

When, Takezo's leg didn't sweep below him, missing his leg, Maikeru knew something was off, his eyes refocused, bringing to him the image of Takezo's alternate leg, swinging, but for a higher target. Maikeru's lips began moving silently as a plan, and another Kido formed in his head. He allowed his opponent to score the hit, something he never did, being slightly more fragile than the usual shinigami. However his arm shot out, and in a claw-like grip, his long fingers reached around and dug into the flesh of the suicidal shinigami. Rather than allow the kick to break his wrist Maikeru through himself with the motion, lessening the impact, although the motion still failed to save his bones and nerves from a jarring pain.

A small and cruel looking hooked knife flashed into his free hand. Maikeru was sideways, parallell to the ground, moving with the momentum imparted from Takezo's kick and his own drive to the side. The knife drove towards Takezo's meaty calf, in this same instant Maikeru finished his quickly spoken incantation, "Hado Number Eleven, Tsuzuri Raiden." Lightning flashed down his arm, and into the hand locked like a vice around the smoker's ankle. From there, it would travel into The Idiot's system, scorching and spasming wherever it went. As the Kido was released, sent to do his destructive bidding, Maikeru let go, pushing himself away and rolling back on the sand and stone, a reverse sumersault carrying him a small distance away.

If Takezo failed to avoid the knife it would remain embedded to the hilt in the meat of his calf, its cruely shaped point doing even more damage were it to be removed swiftly without care. However, were he to somehow, by the grace of the Zero Division, avoid it, it would reman in Maikeru's hand, soon flung as he rolled backwards to cover his retreat. Down on one knee, ending in a four-point runners stance, he looked back up and shook the hair from his eyes, letting them capture the image of his opponent, to assess how much damage his gambit had achieved.

((I'm hoping I interpreted your attack correctly, but yes, it was the left hand, you are correct in that.))

Takezo, now fully confident he could outwit the foolish newbie let his momentum transition his body to a follow up strike, letting his quick imagination dictate his chaining. The victory of the possibly broken hand was great for Takezo, his idea was due to simple logic but it would obviously prove a great perk for him, and an inconvenient impediment to his foe. While this all went on Takezo was deciding if he wanted to bring this into an uppercut upon a pivoting landing, or if he would fancy planting his hands and bringing it around again. Though it was ultimately decide that it wouldn't matter when a Hadō made his leg feel rather more odd than painful, but the mouse had also stuck a sharp piece of metal into his leg.
He didn't are to identify which part of his leg was to cautioned as he hopped back a bit, but it became apparent after he caught ground with his veteran leg. The knife had been miscalculated toward his leg's speed and missed the mass and lodged itself between the bones. After a bit of a conflict of whether to leave it in or take it out, Takezo ripped it from his right wrecker. "You think you're ********' funny?" Takezo wasn't much for being played with, he always anticipated it as the other way around.
Takezo reared the knife back to gear up for a throw, but instead of simply throwing it at Maikeru, the instant Takezo let go of the dagger, he shouted "Hadō number one, Shō!" The initial speed of the shaped metal shard was threatening on it's own, but the propulsion complimented by the seemingly useless kidō made it something fearful. Taking this tactic to two fronts, or sides if you will. The dagger was headed enough to the right of Maikeru that if he moved into it he would probably be stabbed in the chest, or if he stood still it would nail his shoulder. Takezo took to Maikeru's left, acknowledging to abuse his injured leg as much as possible until the adrenaline wore off. Securing the wakizashi in his right hand tightly, Takezo went full speed back up to Maikeru, who seemed ready to run in the Olympics, an appropriate assumption.
While Takezo had come up to Maikeru, he plotted an uppercut into Maikeru's chest while his zanpaku-to took the responsibility of a fall back; in case Maikeru tried dodging full right which would probably be in the form of a tumble, he could conjure a nice gash along Maikeru's shoulders, while Takezo would also secure that by bringing up his right leg to knee Maikeru in the head should he attempt a barrel roll.

Maikeru watched impassively, barely twitching an eyebrow at his opponents antics, the hopping about, the cursing and screaming. However his eyes lit up upon hearing him finally speak something Maikeru agreed with. "Hey! Zaine! You hear that?!? He said I'm funny!" However his eyes refocused on the man, while his mouth turned down in dissaproval, "Rule number one my friend, when throwing a knife of any kind or length it is best done from the wrist." A blade, a knife, a ball, a stick, hell, a clod of mud, had all at one time flown towards Maikeru. The one thing he knew better than all else were shorter blades. From how they were best used in CQB to the most proficient way of throwing a blade. Under or overhand, covertly or right out in the open, it didn't matter. As a benefit to this experience he had long ago learned to quickly calculate the velocity of just about damn well anything he had come into contact with yet. But his own dagger? Please, he had known where it would hit almost before Takezo was done aiming. He knew it's quirks, how it had an odd tendency to change its axis of rotation a few degrees to the right, and how if you weren't careful in your techniqe it wouldn't spin correctly.

Sadly the added force of the Kido allowed such an amateur to make a lucky toss. He still knew where it was going. As the dagger was released and the Sho propelled it at much higher than normal speeds Maikeru stretched his head to the left as if popping his neck, his left shoulder came up to meet his left ear, simultaneously forcing his right shoulder down. The dagger ripped through the air above it causing air currents to rush through his hair, and ripples to form in the shoulder of his uniform, following the path the blade had gone. He looked up at the once again charging Takezo, Damn, doesn't the dog know any other tricks?

Maikeru shook his head minutely, a slight fire of annoyance kindling in his eyes. "First you insult me, then you try," he stressed the word strongly, " to use my own blade against me, and have the audacity to do it badly, and now you simply charge once more? Truly I worry about you, having so little between your ears must throw off your balance horribly." He reached into his shirt and whipped out a small throwing dart, it would barely serve even as a distraction but it would serve its purpose. As Takezo drew within mere moments of striking distance he took his hands from the ground and maintained a simple squat-like position, his weight on the foot behind him. Takezo's armed hand came forward, Maikeru dropped back, his spine bending back towards the ground whilst his left hand came forward and up, redirecting the blade just enough so the resulting gash only stretched about four inches over his right shoulder, as it pushed to the side he also pulled towards himself, bringing Takezo down towards him and hopefully slightly off balance.. As his hands moved so did his legs, he kicked out with both. Setting himself below Takezo his legs shoved on the ground to start to the motion and lift them both from the ground. The moment they were airborn in the slightest his legs shot up and kicked against Takezo's chest.

The end result of the entire maneuver should be to lessen the breadth of the wound recieved from Takezo's attack, as well as send him flying end-over-end back through the air.

As the roll completed, to Maikeru it was little more than a complicated backwards somersault, he flipped to his feet and rotated smoothly to face his opponent. His hands rested calmly stretched out to the sides, and to the back slightly, his fingers twitching in anticipation in time with the energy pulsing from his body in excited waves.

Tomoya
Vice-Captain Challenge
Fourth Division
Post [1/2]

Tomoya's breath came in ragged gasps as he laid on the floor of the squad nine training ground, his blood staining the sand beneath him. How had this happen, why had this happen Tomoya knew the answer to that people were monsters , and didn't stop until they got what they wanted it was simple as that. If some one got in there way they cut them down with out hesitation. This was the hard facts of life a fact Tomoya was reminded of constantly. As his laid there in his blood his mind wandered off back a couple of minutes into the path when this whole ordeal began.

It was around noon, and the heat was stifling bearing down upon the arena , and its inhabitants. Among them was Tomoya who was cleaning up around the arena while two men fought against one another to prove who was stronger. It was at this moment a woman from the same squad as the fighters decided to walk into the arena. Tomoya instantly knew the women he had seen her before a long time ago back in the sixth division. Tomoya was so mesmerized by the sight of the girl who had given him a kiss a long time ago that he did not notice the evil intent coming from the two men.

Tomoya
Vice-Captain Challenge
Fourth Division
Post [2/2]

As Tomoya looked at the women longly he blinked , and in that instant the two men turned on the her attacking hers. One man relinquished her weapon from her while the other man brought her down to her knees. It happened so fast neither the woman or Tomoya girl had time to react quick enough to stop the men. However the women came to it faster then expected and dealt the man who brought her down a sharp bunch in between his legs bringing him down. In that moment two things happened the other man went to attack the woman with his sword, and Tomoya ran in front of her taking the attack. The blade cut across Tomoya's chest , and as he fell to the ground he could see the man sneering at him his eyes filled with lust.

Tomoya's memory then came in glimpses as he slipped in and out of consciousness. The first glimpse the two men were kicking him, and as one of his ribs broke he slipped back into darkness. When he came back to it the men were ripping the woman's clothes to pieces their lust know unstoppable he tried to get up, but he couldn't , and the pain from even trying brought him back down into the darkness. Her screams pierced the air bringing Tomoya back a third , and final time.

Her screams didn't just pierce through the air it also pierced through Tomoya's hear , and soul shattering him to the core. Gritting his teeth Tomoya struggled against the pain, tore through the soul wrenching agony that terrorized his entire being. Waves of reiatsu poured out of him pounding into the walls of the arena like the roaring surf crashing into white walls of stone. Tomoya stood his eyes filled with the determination of a thousand men. It didn't matter how many times you brought him down, it didn't matter if you broke his body , he would get back up to protect those he cared about.

The two men stopped as they felt the power coming from Tomoya , and as they turned around cold sweat slid down they unclad skin as fear gripped their heart holding them in it's cold grip. When they looked at Tomoya they did not see a weak timid boy, they saw a beast with no true form one moment it was a dragon surround by black flames, and in the next moment he was a tiger from the pits of hell lightning sparking from his eyes. They were completely lost in a haze of fear as they lost all control of there bowels, before fleeing like the pitiful worms they were.

It was true people with monsters Tomoya had just proven that fact, but it was also true that people were compassionate it may not seem it at times when monsters bombard you from all sides throwing you into everlasting darkness. However in that darkness there is always a small glimmer of hope waiting for its chance.

This hope most people did not believe in, put that woman see believed in it she had her hope it had been their when every one left her, and it had been here now when monsters defiled her. That hope was a small naive boy who heart knew of monsters , but also held within it a love so strong it was breathtaking.

"You sure know how to clean up a mess boy, tell me what's your name."

"Tomoya.... my name is Tomoya."
