Mmh, dunque... di solito quando sono a Bologna mangio un' insalata con il tonno e la mozzarella condita con olio, sale, pepe e aceto balsamico, oppure la pasta con sugo di pomodoro e ricotta o con il pesto, oppure dei toast con prosciutto cotto e formaggio, oppure la pizza con rucola e parmigiano o con i funghi. oppure mangio delle fette di prosciutto e spinaci o zucchine (cotti) o carote o finocchi (crudi);qualche volta mangio una fetta di carne cotta con il vino.

Because I was watching "Everyday Italian" (a cooking show, hosted by Giada DeLaurentiis) and I could've sworn she said something like that... once you cleaned them they are big like a fist, more or less....My dad loves them "in pinzimonio", that is you make small pieces of fennel and you dip it in a little cup with olive oil and salt (and pepper sometimes); I like them like that, in a salad, without oil or salt...they only have to be fresh and "raw", like the carrots 4laugh
