Lihau swallowed and shook his head, " Not strong, my brothers and sisters were strong, I am just the only one left." His ears laid back along his head, and he sniffed again, trying to pull himself together, " Aaliyah didn't finish training me..but she said I was her best student. Her mate, Kenan, he was strong...and brave...." the young leopard let his voice trail off, looking at his paws again.
" Death and I are old friends, I was just hoping he'd leave me a few on this side of the living. I don't want to be alone, but I am going to be." Swallowing, he looked up at the handsome lion, " I should find something to scavenge. I need to feed Nevena at least. Sadara and I can go for another day, but her mother should be made comfortable till...till the end."
Though young and dishearten, the little healer seemed to know his craft well, even if his training was not finished. He looked over his shoulder, " The river isn't far, I can at least get some water for she and I, and even a little meat will make the drop seeds easier for Nevena to chew. They won't stop what is happening, but they will ease the pain for awhile."

Giving a soft sigh, Sliabh looked at the younger male with an exasperated smile. "Its ok to ask for help on occasion you know." Ruffling the youth's fur he dropped his paw then rose to his considerable height. "Stay here and rest, I will gather what you need." Giving the other a reassuring smile, he glanced at the den. "What do you carry the water in?"

Liahu blinked at having his fur ruffled, and then let out a shaky laugh, " I guess I forgot that there are kind felines out there. I've been lucky so far, but I know I can't protect them if it came to a fight."
Taking a deep breath the little healer stood up, showing how thin he was and delicate of bone, " I have a thing..." he frowned a little, " I don't know what to call it...another rogue gave it to me a few days ago...he made it out of some kind of plantish thing."
As he spoke he scrambled up the sandy incline to the den and stuck a paw in pulling out a hollowed out gourd. He carried it over in his mouth and set it beside the tall stranger, " Its awkward carrying it, but...it works pretty good."

Smiling faintly Sliabh gave a little shrug. "None of us can do everything. I am no healer, you aren't a fighter, there is no shame in that." Gold eyes watched as the leopard stood, though having spent his whole life until recently around the sick and dying, the healer's state didn't surprise Sliabh. But it did sadden him. Carefully taking the gourd when it was presented he nodded, answering round the thing in his mouth with a muffled 'I will be right back'.
Turning he set off for the river, finding it soon enough with the use of his nose, he filled the gourd and after a few botched attempts, discovered how to carry the thing without spilling all the water from inside. Carefully he carried it back to the young leopard and the den, placing it on the ground before Lihau with slow movements.
"I can gather more later, I am going to hunt for you all, but I may be a little while. So stay here and make sure you rest." The soft tone f voice nevertheless held a clear note of authority within it as the guard studied the leopard, waiting for an agreement.

Lihau watched the male leave with the water-thing in his mouth. His pale eyes admiring how smoothly he moved and wishing he'd payed a little closer attention to his older brother when he had taught him a few self defense moves.
Sighing, he settled down on his paws to wait for the stranger to return, one ear cocked back to hear the soft sounds of both Sadara and her mother sleeping. The drop seed was working, and was at least granted them both some much needed rest. Maybe he could get a little himself tonight.
The leopard looked up when his keen nose caught wind of the stranger's smell, an odd mix of musk and death, but he figured that it must be because he was a fighter of some kind.
Blinking at the firm tone, but instantly responding to it, Lihau nodded and carefully slipped his neck out from the pouch he was wearing, looking for the drop seed to put into the water, " Yes Sir..."

Sliabh watched as the younger male accepted the water, once satisfied he wasn't going to run off and try and hunt for himself, the tall lion stood and after pausing a moment, he set off to find himself something big enough to feed three cats.
