"I'm sure he'd love to meet you, too."
Manny didn't sound so sure but he wasn't sure what else to say. He knew for sure he couldn't invite Liyana back to meet him without warning, that would probably freak him out a little bit. It could be fun, sure, but he wouldn't do that to his brother. Zi already had issues, he didn't need anybody messing with his head intentionally.
"He's busy this afternoon, though, so not today," he added to prevent any suggestion of going to find him now.
Marini just stood there, smiling, her tail swishing behind her. Liyana really was adorable, couldn't deny that. Zi didn't have any kids of his own, it might be funny to see how he reacted to someone looking so much like him. It was weird, though, where they had different daddies.
"So you'll have to go come back another time to meet him," she said, glancing to Manny and then back to Liyana. She had no idea Manny was trying to buy them time to get to Zi first.

Liyana was pleased to hear this, but wondered why it needed to be said. Why shouldn't he be happy to meet her? She was his sister! She was about to suggest they go find him right away when her thoughts were cut off by Manny talking again. "Well, that's a bummer!" She did seem a little disheartened, but she was still very happy with what she interpreted as Manny wanted to see more of her, so she didn't get very down.
"Oh!" She beamed at Marini. "Yes, I can do that. I go home most nights but I usually leave every morning anyway. I can come back whenever! Even tomorrow!" If she didn't get distracted by something else, which was just as likely. She stood, excited, and pranced her feet a little. "That would be nice, right?"

"Absolutely," he agreed, though his heart wasn't in it. He only hoped his consistently less-than-enthusiastic behavior with Liyana would make it all the less suspicious. He could try to smile and actively be happy about it but he felt that would come across as more fake. Nevertheless, he smiled. "Tomorrow would be a good day," he said, "We can meet you right here, if you want."
Planning it was OK. It would be fine, it gave him more control.
"I'll even come along!" Marini said brightly, pleased that they were making a plan for the next day. Surely the brothers wouldn't mind a little company. Manny certainly liked having her around, this couldn't be any different. She was already around for the first time he met Liyana- and now this time.

"Okay!!" This time, she actually did bounce. She was equal parts excited to see this new lion whom she looked like as well as to see Manny and Marini again. She really was growing more fond of them all the time, even though she'd only seen them twice. "I can do that. I can be right HERE tomorrow." She quickly looked around them, moving a little to try and soak in all the details of their exact location.
"Alright, I will be here." She nodded firmly, convinced she'd remember exactly where they were. "And definitely come, Marini! It'll be lots of fun." She beamed at the pair, pleased with how her visit turned out, and then turned around without much more to say. She really needed to work on her manners. "Bye!" She managed to remember to call over her shoulder before taking off into a jog back out towards the end of the territory of the Pridelands, and in what she believed to be the general direction of her home. Maybe.

Manny didn't really react when Marini invited herself along, sure she would have come along anyway. She liked keeping track of him and acting as some.. strange kind of mediator in this whole situation. He'd just have to get rid of her so he could chat with Zi alone, though.
"Alright," he agreed, watching her go, barely muttering a 'goodbye' as she went off. He looked over to Marini and sighed.
"Stuck with her now," she said brightly, glancing over from watching Li run off. She kept on smiling, no matter how sad Manny looked about it.
"Oh, come on," she said, walking over and nudging at him, "Let's head back, we can go find Zi!" She was OK with cutting their walk short and she fully intended to stick with Manny, getting rid of her to have a private conversation with Zi was going to be tricky.
Fin.
