"Mmm." He wound some cheese up around his fork and shook his head just a little, with a mock shudder at the very thought. One brief look up toward the desk, thinking about how good Zac's soda looked, before he offered another grin.
"I never said anything about girls." And he shoved the bite into his mouth.

Zac paused only for a moment before giving a small 'snort' and rolled his eyes.
"Fine... don't tell me about your exploits with College BOYS either." He paused tracing the glance at his soda, however brief before making a small hrumph sound and fished a dollar out of his pocket and slapped it on the table between them.
"Get your own drink... " He growled.

Ever laughed at him, setting down his fork and snatching up the bill even as he rose up out of his seat. Maybe he should have protested, or argued, or something, but...instead he just took it and went.
He returned with root beer and a wide grin, setting down the change in front of Zac as he sat. "You must have some allowance."

"You either need a new routine or shower the dirt out of your ears... Next statement that doesn't turn a dollar into me being 'Mister GotRoxs' he snipped.

"Goddamnit, am I repeating myself already?" He cracked the can open with a slow, pleased sigh: he usually blew all his cash on booze instead of fizzy drinks, so this was something of a rarity for him. He shook his head just a little at Zac, considering his expression.
"You really are on edge all the time, huh?"

"... How am I on edge?" He said sitting straiter and scowling, then hmphing. "Even if I am... someone just showed up and invited himself to what -was- a solo lunch treat -without- asking, am I supposed to be 'chilling' about that? Or the fact your implying things about your new room mates?" He paused and sawed his pizza into smaller bites without actually consuming any yet before adding.
"If your looking for some... homophobic reaction to that too you can look -elsewhere-, I just don't care about people's PDA... so... "
He faltered and ate his pizza... unsure what he'd been trying to argue in the first place.

He tipped his head at that, just watching Zac, expression going more and more serious as the babbling carried on. After he was done talking, there was a long moment of quiet, broken only by the absent sawing of his knife.
"You were on edge before I came over." He wasn't teasing, or prodding, or looking for a reaction now. Just commenting. "...hmmp. How old are you?"

"I should tell you that -why- exactly?" He arched an imperious eyebrow and took another 'on edge' bite of his food.
He had that tone in his voice that heralded back to the '*****' reference to boot.

"Because if you're eighteen, or have an ID that says you're eighteen, I'd invite you out later." Ever just blinked at him in an entirely innocent way [the black eye ruined it a bit] before focusing down on his food to slice off another bite. He was going to devour the entire thing. Eat when you can...
"But they check IDs at the door, and trust me, they'll probably always check you." He couldn't help the jab but -- at least it was lighter, absent, one of his shoulders hiked as he filled his mouth again.

Zac flipped him off with as much calm as he could muster. Maybe he'd just search out the shortest demographic in the world and move there so he could feel tall...er.
"I don't have such an ID, and I'm not -quite- 18 yet... besides, I just paid for your damn drink, where the hell are you finding money for going 'out'?"
He arched an eyebrow.. and then frowned slightly.
"And what about your Roomies... did you just hit on me?"

Ever shrugged in reply, a quick and rough little movement, and took a long sip of his root beer while he thought about it.
"...drinks aren't hard to manage." It came slowly, considering, still mostly serious and that was damned near a miracle. Ever couldn't usually sustain 'serious' for terribly long. "And you might be able to get in anyway, if you're cute about it. Not sure..."
He looked up at Zac again, his head tilted. "I dunno. You look like you need it, is all."

Zac blinked... it was easy to imagine the small short in his logic center. His facial expression read nothing but "Wait...what?" and he didn't seem to be able to form the words to respond to the offer, or even to be offended about 'acting cute'.
"...need....what? A drink?" he managed finally.

"Mmm." he shook his head at that, fingers still curled around his can and eyes flicking thoughtfully over the food in front of him as he considered his answer.
"Well, I mean, maybe. It can be fun. But I meant you need more like, hum." He wobbled the can a little, eyes narrowing, and then offered a lopsided smile. "A life?"

Zac's eyes narrowed again in irritation.
"I -have- a life." He said colder than dry ice. "I happen to have SCHOOL work and other side projects that need my attention as well, they are -part- of that life." he stabbed his fork into a few pieces of his remaining food to finish it faster bristling with a want to be gone and on with his 'life.'

Another miracle: a blossom of genuine irritation out of Ever, his eyes flashing for a moment and hands tossed up in frustration as he leaned back. Body language: closed off, just a little, potentially for the first time since Zac had met him.
"Why do you have to take everything so personally? You obviously are stressed out. It's a stress releaser." He could have suggested cruder ones but...
