For Ranee this would definitely be an excellent opportunity for more intense training, and to get away from all the scouting missions, the increased tension at the boarder was overkill. Unknown to her was Talon and Shun didn’t share her enthusiasm and she wouldn’t of had the slightest if she knew.
Ranee offered Shun a nod back with a casual comment of “Not taking and hard drinks during this celebration?” Ranee knew full well why Shun never drank however, the teasing was always fun. “What’s with the strange tone?” Ranee said with a grin, Moe began his antics And Ranee laughed lightly only to be cut off by the arrival of the Woman herself. Immediately Ranee offered a Salute with Shun, She was fast Ranee though. “Congratulations General.” Ranee said instantly along with Shun, as a formal response was necessary. Shun however continued making very valid points. She couldn’t hide her own curiosity as to why the three of them had been picked with many officers of higher rank and formidable skill.

The woman gave thankful nods to the congratulations. It wasn't as easy to tell from the stage, but from up close she seemed to be more at eye level with most of the men in the crowed. A good estimate of her height would be around 6'... possibly even 6'1". At least it carried with the tradition of all the ZOIDian generals having an abnormal height....
"I'm sure every high ranked officer has their concerns of my choice, but I have my reasons and I will make them clear when we meet in the palace." She spoke to Blade before turning to Talon. "Of course, your arm is obviously occupied at the moment. Do note that it will not be tolerated in the future, Private Beauregard."
She looked over the three one more time before a smile finally stretched the corners of her lips, more so after watching the chubby MRZ's struggle and near fall. Moe's antics even earned a soft chuckle.
"There is no reason to believe my trust in you thee has been misplaced. I look forward to our formal meeting."
And with that said she gave a respective nod and vanished once again into the crowed.

The tall woman seemed rather interesting in Bent-Tail's eyes and he gave her a small wave when she walked off to go elsewhere.
Later on, Shun found himself at the palace for the formal meeting he and the others were to have with the new General. She said she would clear up her reasons for why she chose them specifically here, so he was actually fairly interested in what was to come. There could potentially be other points of interest there as well, but at the same time there was a slight sense of wariness about this whole ordeal.
The inauguration had a number of surprises in general, which may be a bad thing. It was really hard to say at this point in time.
Waiting for the meeting to begin, he just stood by silently with his organoid by his side. He hadn't had much of a chance to let Zutnic know what was going on here yet, but it would probably be better to fill in the striker once he knew the full story.

After the brief encounter with the General and her attitude, Talon had ducked out rather quickly to get a change of clothes. His spare formal was in the cleaners for almost exactly the same reason ( ink stain from Cuddles), so he had to don his piloting suit. Or, well, the cleanest one he had. He left Moe so as not to cause any more embarrassments.
Quietly, Talon occupied himself with the decorations of the chamber, the lack of chairs, and the lack of plants. He was weary of this meeting for many reasons. Though, he was more weary of what he was to be told this session.
Guarding a General wasn't his idea of a fun assignment. He'd rather be taking his chances on patrols. His family back in that village ways away was going to be told about this. Sure, they'd be thrilled... His mind ran away from him as he stood, watching the door ahead of him, ignoring the beautifully carved seal of their emperor and empire gilded on that dark wood, and standing still for once.

Moe's situation was rather hilarious and Ranee couldn't hold a muffled laugh even though the General stood in front of her. The General smiled, Ranee felt instant relief, and maybe things might not be too bad after all. Ranee lowered her Salute after the monstrous woman left, still a bit curious about why the three of them had been picked however, the General promised to make such clear when the tree of them met so Ranee put the thought to the side for a bit.
While Talon left to get a spare set of clothes and Shun probably went off to brood in some corner by himself Ranee happily socialized for the remainder of the party, until came time for the meeting the bade those she was talking to goodbye and headed off.
Ranee ended up in front of the doors shortly after Talon. She bade him and Shun a light hello

Not long after the last of the three arrived one of the many, some say thousands, of Emperor's servants emerged from a doorway far down the hall. The neatly dressed, and bald, penguin suited man quietly made his way around all the expensive statues and other servants toward the expected group. His posture, and voice suggested he had a pole painfully lodged somewhere .
"Please follow me...." He spoke promptly on reaching the group than made his way back down the hall, not even checking to see if they all had followed. There was too much to be done today and not enough time to babysit.
The stiff penguin suited man lead them down several halls and even more doors through the front quarter of the palace. It was always said the Emperor loved his rare arts, and by his decor it showed greatly. There wasn't a single hall without a painting or pottery piece.
The lights seemed to dim as the reached the end of one of the halls. He lead them to a large heavy wooden door along the wall just before the end.
"you are expected here..." He huffed snootily as he opened the door to reveal a windowless room fitted with four soft couches around a large round table. Three of the four walls in the large room were lined with bookshelves covered with books, maps, and decorated boxes. General Pendragon was waiting across the room sitting on the farthest couch from the door. She had been looking over what looked to be large photographs before the door was opened. When the door was fully open she was already putting the glossy white sheets back in the Manila envelope.
Rish set the envelope on the table next to a cup of hot coco as she rose to meet the guests. "Thank you Humphrey..." She actually found his rude behavior amusing. He had wore a quite different face for the Emperor. The change was unbelievable.
"Welcome" She spoke to the three."Please have a seat. Humphrey will be happy to oblige you with any refreshments you may need before we start." The butler's silent annoyance earned him a smile from the new general. "You will not be permitted anything after the meeting is in progress, so if you would like anything now is the time."

Nodding a silent greeting to the others as they arrived, Shun turned as what appeared to be a haughty butler went on to lead them through the Palace to the meeting room. His snooty attitude was rather irritating for sure, at least to this soldier. He did his best to wave it off though. No need to get into a bad mood before the meeting when that alone could easily be the cause for a foul day.
Stepping into the room, he took a moment to look around. It certainly was fancy, though that was probably a given considering their location. Bent-Tail was certainly impressed as he let out a squeak akin to a whistle upon entering. Such a neat place this was for the organoid. Upon seeing the General, both pilot and machine gave a salute before approaching the couches as requested.
The envelope that the General had piqued some curiosity from Shun. Was it some sort of case file perhaps?
"Some tea would be nice," he said quietly to the butler while seating himself at one of the couches.

Sadly, Talon was still spacing out when Ranee sneaked up. He managed to mumble a distracted 'hello' before the doors opened to reveal a proper butler. Thrilled that there would be something to do than count wood grains, Talon gave the man that was only doing his job a polite head bob of a bow.
If you're kind to the staff, the staff will be kind to you. . . Then again, this one seemed to have issues regarding his position. what a shame. . .
Ushered inside, the delicious reading room/study/war room, he found himself saluting to the woman putting pictures away in an envelope. Ah, that's right. The General had asked them to show up for their actual meeting. A polite nod was given then Talon remembered his manners, "Thank you. Tea as well, please. " he said before steeling himself to stand the entire meeting. He had oil and grease on his clothing and didn't want to bother staining one of the couches. Or at least he swore he did. It was hard to remember.

Just like home. Ranee thought. Although her servants where much more... welcoming at least her personal servants where; he however most likely excelled at his other jobs which didn't extend to social greetings. However this again Ranee was used too, such was the social world, it was expected certain servants where rude depending on who they were hired by. That Aside Ranee admired the artwork as much as she could as they continued down the hallway. Although most of it seemed to consist of the Emperor himself the paintings seemed to be incredibly well done. She also took note of the path in which they were brought.
The rich daddy’s girl gave a light nod of gratitude to the buttler, who seemed not to care one bit. Ranee Gave a salute as she entered the Room, as was customary before she glanced around the well decorated room filled with books. Ranee had to resist a strong urge to order the buttler for a expensive blend of herbal tea. Both Shun and Talon seemed to get ahead of her on that too. Damn. “Thank you.” Ranee said politely, taking a seat in one of the chairs “A cup of tea would be lovely.”

The butler said nothing in response to any of the guests before turning back around to navigate through the halls. Amazingly the man returned not even ten minutes later with a tea pot and three intricately decorated tea cups all on a golden tray. There was also a bowl of lemons and some honey set aside in case it should be needed. Since no flavor of tea was suggested, orange tea was provided as default. He set the tray down on the table quietly than made his way back to the door. "Is that everything Ms?" He asked coolly. "Yes, you may go." Rish spoke and waved him away. She would have to address his rudeness later. As soon as the door was closed her focus went back to the three soldiers. She leaned forward to retrieve the envelope from the table. "I will trust you that what we cover in this room will not make its way to anyone other than yourselves. Should any of this information leak, even to family-" she gave Ice a look as she spoke that last word. "-you will all be held accountable."Rish only gave a short pause before continuing again. Hopefully there would be no disagreements with that. Punishment for traitors were none too light, or forgiving. "We will start with an explanation for the strange ceremony... A week ago we lost one of our scouts out on a mission to investigate a strange temple just past the unclaimed border. Just before we lost contact with him he was able to send a photograph." Rish opened up the envelope, withdrew a picture, than set it on the table face up for the soldiers to see. "Amadeus believes we have found an ancient organoid.... a violent one at that. When we recovered the scouts ZOID the cockpit had been smashed into and the pilot...." She took a deep breath remembering the sight. "The pilot had been mauled into what was barely recognizable as human remains. Amadeus has decided to give up his honor in order to hunt this creature down before it can cause any more harm. The honor was passed to me in hopes he could dedicate his time to hunting this devil down and that the empire would be in 'capable hands' as he put it.... We have not made this public to keep panic from the streets. People have put up with enough this past year." Rish held her focus on the pilots as she continued to relay the information. The whole topic seemed to upset her, that much was obvious on her tone. "What has sparked interest most in this attack was a pilot from the republic was reported to have shared the same fate a few months ago. We are almost certain it was the same organoid who took the republic soldier's life."

Taking one of the teacups, Shun took a sip of it as things started to begin. The envelope did turn out to be a case file, though he was somewhat surprised to see what the picture was. There was something very vaguely familiar about the image, but the fog had messed with his memory of what Nick's current appearance was. Despite that, between the picture and the information General Pendragon had provided them, he was more than certain this had to do with the Judge. And if the Judge was involved, Nick was likely as well.
If only Amadeus knew what he was getting into here. Or the Imperial army for that matter.
Setting the cup down for the time being, he looked over the picture some more as he took in the information. Most likely Talon had some similar thoughts running through his head. Shun was going to have to speak with him in private a little later to see what he made of all of this. Their secret helpers would likely need to be filled in on this as well.
Keeping a relatively neutral expression, he glanced at his peers before focusing on the General once again.
"Is he really trying to hunt it down alone?" he asked quietly. While he was certain Amadeus could hold his own quite well, he didn't believe there was any one person who could take on the Jury alone. Even without that bit of knowledge behind him, just trying to tackle an ancient organoid alone would be quite a feat.

Tea then a huge warning about classified information. Today is going to be great. Stirring in lemon and some cream to his tea, Talon took the time to observe the presented photograph. Odd, it was terribly familiar. It reminded him of his own run in a temple with that rather crazy flock of cuttlefish. Thankfully, from his standing position, he could get a good look at the photo from almost any vantage. No need to hold it.
An eyebrow rose as the stories of another unfortunate soul delving with the dungeon crawl, and the state of the man and Zoid after, were told. There was also a frown, but Talon couldn't put together words at the moment, so a sip of his tea was taken. Needs more lemon... But that wasn't important. He was just a low Private, not a captain or lieutenant that could dally getting their tea just perfect.
"Forgive me for being blunt, Ma'am, but chasing after something like that most likely is the dumbest idea anyone could ever have. " Talon said, openly agreeing with the question Shun had presented. Amadeous didn't look like the type to be dumb enough to go after something that not only destroyed Zoids and Pilots, but . . . augh. Talon's head was starting to hurt, he sighed and shook his head, "The incidents are strangely coincidental, but... Why are you relaying this information to us? We can't protect you from something that may or may not be an ancient organoid."
Somewhere in Talon's mind, he was pouting that he didn't think to take a picture of poor Nick... Then again, he was frowning hard at the picture by now, trying to make out the details in the photo... Organoid? Who ever heard of a humanoid organoid! That was some sci-fi stuff right there.

Taking a cup of tea Ranee listened to the general giving a light nod of understanding, when she was addressed. Father wasn't going to be happy, he loved hearing about the ongoing of the military, and Ranee loved sharing though she never usually had something this interesting to share and she just didn't particularly like being punished as a traitor... Ranee mixed in some Lemon and honey, finding the perfect blend of each before taking a sip.
lavender eyes watched widening as the picture was laid on the table unlike her two companions she had absolutely no idea what relevance that image had. The image gave her chills especially once the general explained what had happened to the poor pilot. Ranee still held a high curiousity of the terrifying organoid that could do such a thing however as Ranee observed the picture and a form vaguely resembling a human seemed to appear in the shadows the more she gazed into the image, "Excuse me Ma'am this organoid it looks to have a human form... are human organoids even possible?"
She cast a glance toward talon and Shun both echoed each other’s sentiment, Ranee felt strangely left out. Despite this image Ranee was still curious to know why the three of them had been chosen. Maybe it would pull them away from such a grim subject it seemed to even bother the general.
“If I may ma’am you told us you’d make it clear why the three of us where chosen to protect you...”

Rish only shook her head at the comments. "When he told me what his intentions were I also told him he is a fool. But he is determined... and the Emperor agrees with him. He sees the capture of such an odd organoid would bring more glory to the Empire. He won't be going alone, a team of some of our top soldiers were assembled to accompany him. A damn waste as far as I'm concerned." The woman caught herself before she rambled further on her dissatisfaction. "They will be piloting our top ZOIDs for the mission, so there is little concern with the Emperor of their safety."
First she turned to Talon to address his question. "Because I would rather my bodyguards to be informed, rather than unaware and oblivious. The more you know the better prepared you are..."
She than turned to Ice. "We still know very little about the ancients and of all their creations.. I wouldn't put it past them to create something so terrible." She glanced back at the photo before addressing the next question. "And I intend to... This matter I felt should be covered first."

Shun couldn't help but frown at Pendragon's response. In a way, it vaguely reminded him of the story Nick told him regarding her being set up as a traitor. The last time the Empire tried to get a hold of an ancient, it turned out to be a mess. Even with a team of top soldiers and the best Zoids, he didn't see ending very well. It certainly didn't help with his current views on how the military seemed to be power-hungry.
At least their new General had a similar line of thought to himself and the others here it seemed.
The Private kept his comments on the matter to a minimum. He didn't want to accidentally let something slip that he really shouldn't. Hopefully Talon would do the same.
