So she had some common sane in that tiny little head of her's, this was a point to her and gave her a decided advantage over other soquili. Tut had met adults who were less sensible than this filly and if he'd had a hat, he would have tipped it in respect. Alas, he lacked both the necessary attire and the limbs to perform this action so he elected to get on with the plan he had cooked up. It was certainly going to hurt - forget about her broken leg, the gashes in his sides were going to sear and burn the second they were dragged across the grass and bark but if he didn't move soon there was a high chance that cat would come back.

Suffice to say that the adolescent stallion had absolutely no intention of letting this happen and so he took a few paces forward. His jaw immediately clenched, the gashes stretching and clenching with each step in a manner that only served to aggrivate them. He was forced to pause again and it was with a heavy sigh that he regathered his composure. Casting aside the pain for at least a short while, he only began to approach the filly again when he was certain he could ignore it.

Well, that he could sort of ignore it.

No sooner had he gathered this composure than he was at her side and with a brief countdown from 'three', he thrust his weight rather abruptly against the tiny harpini and proceeded to push her up from her position. Pressed between his weight and the tree trunks she would eventually begin to 'lift up', forced into the air above her initial position to a height that she could unceremoniously sling herself onto his back. Needless to say there was no dignity to be had for either of them - the wounds along his flang did not appreciate the foul treatment but he was fairly certain her leg would probably be in the process of plotting her bloody murder if it possessed the ability to do so.

A brief countdown was all the warning she got, it was a small amount of time but it was enough for her to tense her muscles as her mind locked it's self onto the thought that even if it may hurt dealing with the pain would get her out of here alive, it was the only thing that mattered right now. She had to ignore this pain, letting it take over would have been disastrous! As he muttered a short breathy one, Kaia could only dream that she was ready to take on this challenge they were being faced with.

That idiotic thought seemed to be ripped apart when the first firm but quick push was given, there was no way one could ignore the pain that Kaia was dealt to deal with fully! She was not ready for this, no one could have been. Her sides screamed at her as the feeling of someone was cutting her even deeper then the skinwalker had with a searing hot knife seemed to pound her. Dear almighty of gods, what new hell was this?

Her small body slid against the ground causing not only her gashes to be ripped open more then they were, but it also allowed for small rocks and sand to push it's way into the open wounds - suffice to say it hurt. Her lips were trembling by the time her back was pressed to the tree trunk. She had felt herself cry out a couple of times in the short journey just a few feet to the nearest twisted tree, though she couldn't ever re-call hearing herself, all the grunts of pain coming from the stallion that had mixed with her own yelps and cries had been blocked out. For the better she guessed, it kept her a lot calmer. Funny in this time she had learned that it was easier to zone out if you didn't have loud yelling right in your ear.

Finally, the teenage stallion had done his part of the work, now it was up to Kaia to get herself onto his back. She sucked in a breath, only to let it out in a hiss through her clenched teeth. The time that she could spend zoned out in a happy little world was gone now, she didn't have the luxury of being able to chill through this whole thing. As she snapped out of her thoughts the sounds that she had blocked out seemed to be stored in her ears, which busted as soon as she was able to hear again. Her rainbow head wings fluttered as tightly against her head as they could get, they seemed to be moving with every new sounds that she was hearing - which there were quite a number of.

A couple of moments to herself to gain her composure? She earned that at least! Besides it would give her hero a moment to rest and gain his own composure before they moved onto the next step, after all this was not a walk in the park for him either.

It had taken longer then she would have thought even though it had only been a few seconds when her composure came back. The built up voices had now gone silent, allowing her time to think. Her eyelids fluttered up from covering her eyes. Wait when did she close them? Gods she didn't even remember. Her icy orbs gazed down, looking over the white stallion and her position carefully. She had to figure out which would be the best and less painful way for both of them way to go about this. When she was done with this she had to have a heart to heart with her poor leg to thank it oh so kindly for being so much of a damn trouble. Honestly this would be so much easier if she hadn't broken her leg! Hell she may even be able to walk off.

Bitterness was not a good look on her. Ding! Add to ever growing number of things she was learning from this attack.

Alright well her first two plans were a fall outs, she couldn't just hook her front and back leg on either side of him and ride like that since the front leg that was facing him just happened to be her broken one. She would have to go about this the hard way. Lovely. She'd have to change her pose just a little bit before she would be able to put her one good front leg over his back. "I'm going to move myself, I can't get on your back like this. Please try your best to keep a hold of me, okay hero?" Unlike Tut she did not wait for his permission, gods only knew how much time the pair had before the blue devil would be crawling back ready to make a meal out of them. Kaia first did small short bursts of wiggles, which turned into large longer going circle shaped rocks as she moved her body into the spot that she needed it to go. Her wounds on her side by now were starting to become number at the feeling over hard bark harshly rubbing back and fourth against them, though that did not keep her leg from joining the party of body parts that wanted to plot out her murder.

She was in place, it was time to suck up her pain and do this, then get the hell out of this god forsaken place! She bit down onto her lower lip before reaching her right leg out, setting it over the stallion's back. Kaia tried her best to mind some of his larger gashes, but there was only so much she could do when he was full of them along side his back! She let out a soft whimper through her bitten closed mouth, tears bubbled against her eyes before rolling down her furry cheeks. It was small things like this that was keeping her sane enough to push with her back legs against the tree, at the same time as her front leg pulled, this series of actions set her forward. At first it wasn't bad as her lower chest rolled over the stallion's side and onto his back, then came her limp left leg. Oh hello searing blinding pain, welcome back to the club! This time when she was faced with it Kaia did cry out - loudly in fact, with a colorful set of words that a young lady her age shouldn't know. It was after another few sets of these colorful words did her leg finally 'pop,' over to the other side of his back well hooked on for the moment. She wiggled on his back till the middle of her chest and belly was firmly pressed onto the small of his bloody back. It wasn't the most lady like pose, nor did it give her much dignity but it worked.

The work fell back to the teenager again, he'd have to carry both himself and her weight back to whatever healer he knew of that was close by. The young harpini could only hope that he didn't faint by the time they got there. "Hero, I...I am set to go if you are?"

Finally!

After a further few moments of struggle the filly had managed to settle herself as comfortably as she could manage upon his back. It was an awkward pose by all standards but when an individual took everything in context, it made some sense. Had it been out of context then one would have been well within their rights to indicate that this was unnatural by all accounts. Regardless, now was neither the time or place to debate such issues and instead of delaying any further the stallion took the opportunity to move. Thus, it was with a deep breath that he thrust his legs forward and proceeded towards the forest's perceived edge. Perceived in the sense that he hadn't seen the border in quite some time, but he hadn't lost his bearings since entering the forest and could make a reasonable call on where said border was meant to be.

The stallion could be thankful for small favours. The more he moved, the more he became numb to the pain and he was capable of picking up the pace to a reasonable degree. The ground was still unsteady and he couldn't afford to break into a trot (lest he unseat his passenger) but he was much more brisk than he had been. With elongated strides he made quick work of the distance between the plains and his previous position, finally closing the gap with much more time to spare than he had initially anticipated. He couldn't speak for the filly in this respect, he was sure she wasn't terribly comfortable up there, but her additional weight and his wounds had been all but forgotten once he'd found his rhythm. A great sense of relief flooded across his form as his dark gaze fell upon the plains - with his back to the line of trees, he had crossed the threshold in 'no time at all', leaving only an open expanse to negotiate.

The cat wouldn't attack them out here, or at least he would pray that she didn't. She would be too exposed and with the various heads he could see dotted about in the distance, she wouldn't go unnoticed either. She didn't seem like the reckless kind; or at least this was what he had assumed when she had bolted.

"Thank you, Ammun..." he murmured softly, affording a brief pause to survey his surroundings. It took him a few moments to regather both wits and bearings, and then he was ready to continue. Not one to strike up a conversation at what would have been considered an inopportune time, the soquili instead proceeded forward once more. One hoof in front of the other, he had elected to come as close as he could to the human settlements without entering them. It was a long shot, but there was bound to be either a soquili healer within their midst or at least a human shaman who could assist them. Truth be told he didn't really know what a human shaman looked like but he couldn't afford to be fussy. Instead of causing a fuss he opted to place his faith in his god in the hope that his hooves would be guided.

He was not to be disappointed...

"Well, well, well," the smooth lilt of a languid male caught his ear as he passed by a small outcropping of trees. Acting as shelter against the worst of the sun's heat, its services had been employed by numerous creatures. Birds and small critters alike had taken refuge in their branches and while he hadn't given immediate concern towards them, he was rather startled at what he had missed. He immediately drew to a halt and turned his head to the left to examine what had broken the silence - what he hadn't anticipated was the unicorn that was recling rather comfortably below one of the thicker umbrella of branches on the edge of the outcropping. A striking red with milky eyes, he didn't appear to know the meaning of camoflauge so how the hell had Tut missed something so, well, obvious (not to mention critical)?

"Aha, so you finally notice me," a small and wistful smile seemed to be a permanent fixture on this particular stallion's lips but Tut couldn't quite place it; regardless of the smile, something didn't really seem right. Nevertheless he wasn't given a great deal of time to ponder over this as the stallion nodded towards Tut's quarry and seemed to fix his milky gaze on her briefly, before shifting his attentions to the wounds on Tut's flank. "You've gotten yourself into quite the predicament it would seem..." he mused and with that, tilted his head to the side.

"No s**t," Tut replied, a response that would have earnt him a slap at home but it somehow seemed appropriate in the given circumstances. Why was it that every individual seemed to feel it was necessary to state the obvious?

Ye gods!

"That can't be comfortable," the red stallion elected to ignore the younger male's remarks and slowly rised to his hooves. It was with an enviable grace that he drew to his full height, flicking his tail outwards in a stretch before it settled comfortably behind him again. Draped against the long grass, it remained obscured but did appear to sway from side to side every now and again. A momentary pause for what Tut was sure was 'effect' and then the unicorn finally sauntered towards them - it was only when he was up close that Tut realised just how tall he was. Pfft, give him a few more years and he would be that height too.

"Now, let me see here..." The stallion didn't wait for an invitation and wove his tail round to lift Kaia's hoof up ever so slightly for inspection. Then, with pursed lips, he released it and glanced down at the rather pitiful flanks of the harpini's 'mount', suffice to say that if it hadn't been for the broken leg she probably would've been in much better shape. "Broken," he observed to Kaia and nodded at her leg, "Not even a need break either," he added with a touch of resentment. Whether or not this resentment was towards her or simply the state of her leg was open to debate. "As for your wounds; they will fester if they aren't cleaned," he concluded plainly to Tut.

"Really now? I can't say I'd noticed," Tut replied wrily and once more, didn't receive the response he wanted. For reasons unknown to the teenager, this red stallion was completely immune to his cheek, no doubt his father would tip his hat off to the unknown unicorn in this respect.

"Well don't just stand there," the unicorn remarked lazily and lifted a brow.

Tut blinked.

"Ah, evidently I've reached the height of your intelligence - am I to assume you respond to simple commands in these circumstances."

Tut blinked again.

"Very well then," the stallion released a world weary sigh and swung his tail around to point in the direction of a pond, it wasn't massive but it was of a reasonable size. "I want you to walk in that direction," he then swung his tail around to apply pressure to Tut's rump. "Then I want you to stop and tip the filly off your back, and finally I want you to wash -" It was as he uttered these words that Tut seemed to regain some sort of intelligent though and flicked a dirty glance towards the unicorn.

"I'm not an idiot you know," Tut replied coolly.

"You could have fooled me," the unknown unicorn replied wistfully and with that, gave Tut's rump a more abrupt smack with his tail. "Now move," he ordered and whether it have been through obedience or simply surprise, the teenager did exactly as he was told. Approaching the pond, the white soquili soon drew to a halt and lowered himself down. With a single, systematic 'thrust' he then deposited Kaia on the ground and then righted himself. A glance over his shoulder confirmed that the unicorn had followed him, meandering here and there as though he were in no particular rush. It only took a challenging lift of the unicorn's eyebrow for Tut to snort, right himself and then to finally stalk into the pond. Shortly after the unicorn reached their position and gazed down upon Kaia with the same lazy gaze he had afforded Tut previously.

"Clumsiness isn't the most ladylike or appealing of qualities, you know," he sighed at this. "I suppose I had better fix that, shouldn't I?" he added in a tone that indicated it might very well have been an after thought.

With the first steps Tut had taken onto the path out of the forest Kaia could not help herself but let out a groan. Already her broken leg bobbed against his torn up flank, causing pain to shoot up her leg to the rest of her body with each hit.

This was going to be one hell of a long ride.

She couldn't really move anymore and risk going against the set steady rhythm that the white teenager was now briskly traveling in. All she could do was lean her head down to give her leg the gentlest of nudges to move it to a more stable position. Her cream lips curled upwards at the pangs of pain that throughout the day were becoming more and more numb and almost normal hit her once again. The fact that she was become use to the pain felt...ironic, it had been just this morning that her life was still that of a (mostly) normal filly's, sure she had cut or bumped herself wrong in her short time alive but true blinding pain? She couldn't ever say she ever felt it before now.

Funny how life lessons come at you in the strangest ways.

By the time that the duo were starting to make it to the edge of the hellish forest Kaia had laid chin down on his back, using him not only as a mount but now as a pillow. My this stallion had a number of uses!

Truly he was not like the terrified males that she had come to know back in her old home of the flock. With most of the stallions back there if she had ever tried to do this with them they would most likely be shaking in fear as they prayed to whatever god they believed in - hell maybe them all at that moment, not to allow them to drop the harpini.

This male seemed more absolute then anything. Even if she hadn't even yet caught his name Kaia would not have put it above him if she did not have her broken leg to leave her in that forest, letting her find a way back home on her own. Some if they were more parently to young foals like herself would call him heartless for the act, Kaia could only see it as logical, it was not his job to make sure that every young filly got home safely...that and she would be a bloody retard if she couldn't get home on her own.

The thoughts that had wrapped her mind up in a tight vice broke when a sudden bright, warm, wonderful ray of real sunlight broke through the thinning blanket of twisted trees and hit her in the face. Damn it hit right in her eyes! She turned her head away from the light as she blinked in a rapid fury to get rid of the black spots that winked over her vision. The normally witty and bright child was stuck in a blank dumb-struck state of mind with it brought not being able to read that sunlight meant no more of this forest! Her mind didn't quite catch up to the rest of what was going on around her till Tut was actively stepping out of the forest into the bright lush plains, the same plains the chase had started in. The change in atmosphere was like going from night to day in a matter of seconds. No longer was Kaia plagued with the creepy 'this is the place your nightmares are set in' feeling that she had gotten since she dropped a hoof inside the line of darkness and trees.

Even if it it seemed her world had came crashing down on her, outside here in the plains everything seemed normal, peaceful even. Oh what she wouldn't give to tell all the moving blurry shapes about on the plains that she figured as other soquili about the her tale inside the forest, warn them of the dangers that they could face with the evil blue cat that roamed near here! But she didn't, it seemed her courage to say something was blocked by a large frog that was caught in her throat as her ride brushed past the number of people. It became a short little routine for the others to give them strange looks, pondering shortly with the idea if they want to say something before shaking their heads and keeping on with the task that they had been doing. Whatever mess Tut and Kaia had gotten themselves into, these people wanted nothing to do with it, not something Kaia could blame them with.

Kaia did not know where the hero was going, or why he was heading towards the strange smelling village that she and her sister had stumbled upon when they went exploring this new area for the first time just a few days ago but she could only guess that this village had to have the beings with horns stuck to their forehead living there.

Maybe the purpose for this village was a meeting place for a secret cult!? Gods that would be a great case to go look into, she could study and learn about cults and the way they work with them! A grin flashed on her face as a mental note was made to come check and see if this cult was true on a later date, when she was all healed. That is if her older sister would ever let her off the leash that she had been put on Kaia since they came from their baskets ever again. Blast. She would just have to figure out a way to talk Nakita into it, no matter what. Yes, even why badly hurt the little dork could not resist the call of knowledge, it was her weak spot, also the reason she was in this mess to begin with!

A deep voice rang through the grove, Kaia much like Tut had not really been paying that much mind to the happenings going on around them. Yet she couldn't help but feel a tad dumb as her icy gaze fell onto the brightly colored as well as very large stallion with a grin glued onto his face that was like that of a cheshire cat's lazing about under the cool shade of the trees. He had some of the strangest milk white markings she had seen so far in her life! He also had a horn stuck to his forehead! This was one of the horned beings that could heal from her fairy-tales! Oh thank the gods, truly she was being tested and blessed by them today. Her eyes lit up with joy as she eyed over the male eagerly. He was not what she would have pictured with the horned beings and she had to ask herself if all of the horned beings have such bright colors and strange markings, or was it just simply this one?

She sat in silence as the red strangely marked unicorn in a very calm but coy way stepped his way over to where both Tut and Kaia stood. He spoke the painfully obvious, she couldn't tell if it was simply to be cheeky or if he was just daft. Her mouth opened before falling closed again when her hero answered before her. Well, at least she did not have to be the rude one. Though honestly what else would he think happened? That this was a normal tuesday afternoon for them both to get severely wounded? Her eyes could only roll slightly at the comment. By his tone and the way his grin seemed to get wider at Tut's come back, she just guessed that he was just being a smartass. Both stallions it seemed had taken on the role of being cheeky, alright then three could play that came in due time when Kaia felt like she was ready to speak. She ran under the idea that it was better to study people first and get to know what to say as well what not to say before really cracking down into a chat, so far it had been working for her.

Well at least she had planned to let them speak, till then she felt a soft tuff of fur brush against her broken leg. There was hint of a wince on her face as her leg was dropped back down to where it laid before. The insult she could take, with her time in the flock she had been bullied and teased to the point of breaking down on some days had made an almost iron like armor over her feelings when people tried to attack her with petty little come backs. Frankly any resentment he felt over her he could go shove up his arse. Kaia had not wanted to break her leg, but it happened, and now she was paying for it.

Wait... what? Tip the filly off his back? No, just plain no. There was no way she was being dropped from this high with her leg still- Oh gods he was going through with this. Her hero was gonna drop her like a sack of potatoes! "Wait please I do not think that thi-" She was cut off mid-sentence when Tut gave a thrust, sending the harpini barreling through the air with her three good legs flailing. She landed with a THUNK against the ground with her back hitting first, her head following after to make another smaller thunk against the ground. Okay ow! He could have at least paused for a moment to let her brace for it!

Kaia tilted her head up slightly, when she got a view of the white teenager in her sights she let out a short but angry bird chirp back at him for the rude action, which the teenager promptly ignored. As the females in the flock would say: ARGH! Men!

To make the sharp pain that had come back with full force from the blow a tad bit worse there was a large shadow casted over her as the red male glanced down with a relaxed expression on his face. Being faced with more cheeky remarks one of her eyebrows lifted into her hairline. "Yes, sorry to say but when I normally am faced running for my life I do not think about such things like acting in a lady-like manner." Her own gaze fell to her broken leg which laid limp in the tall grass besides her. "If you would not mind sir but I'd really enjoy it if you did."

"A female can always retreat in a ladylike manner if given enough practice," Persaeus pointed out loftily, her dry remarks sliding off him in much the same fashion as water off a duck's back. He had always been this way though, completely unaffected by those who expressed sarcasm, exasperation or rudeness. However on the flipside, he tended to have the inate ability to be the most infuriating individual ever if he elected to demonstrate such quirks - then again, his lofty and otherwise wistful demeanour generally brought about this response anyway. Stating the obvious might have been irritating to most but it was a conversation starter and often led to much more interesting discussions than a topic such as the weather.

"Alas, you are still young yet," he observed, still delaying his assistance for longer than most would consider necessary. "Give you a year or so to grow into those gangly limbs and there may yet still be hope," he added. Again it was an observation, but as with most things that the unicorn often said it acted as a double-edged sword. There was an insult in his remarks somewhere, or if not an insult then at least a jibe of some description. Some might also have gone so far as to say that his tone of voice indicated he had some level of optimism for her future. A confusing individual to be sure, it would be incredibly difficult to discern exactly what he meant and how he truly wished for his remarks to be received.

He paused after this and once again regarded her leg with interested. It was then that he elected to wait a little longer and turned his gaze towards Tut for short while. Lost momentarily to his own internal monologues and musings, he had fallen silent and genuinely appeared to have forgotten about the filly for the time being. There could be no doubts that this stallion did not conform to societies norms, even when it came to common decency or at least the 'agreed' definition of what decency was meant to be. Fortunately for the harpini he did return to the present without too much delay and did eventually return his lazy gaze to her fallen form.

"You should probably work on that," he offered wistfully and popped his lips. "The grace, I mean," he clarified with a small shrug of his shoulders. Nevertheless, having delayed for more than enough time, the unicorn finally lowered his head to examine the leg and swung his tail round to prod at the break again. He was definitely not a delicate doctor! "I wonder how high your pain threshold is," he pondered after seeing just how severe the break was. She'd certainly have to have some pain barrier there to be able to endure such an untidy injury but given what he was going to have to do to fix it... It would have been safe to assume he was attempting to calculate the exact levels required to kill a child through shock.

A newborn was barely anything. What about a clumsy toddler?

Well, there was one way to find all of this out and that was simply to try it - thus it was without warning that he coiled his tail around the 'broken' region of her leg, focusing on the part beneath the break. His grasp tightened, his body braced and then he pulled. The movement was brisk, a violent jerk to straighten up the limb so that it would align properly and the filly wouldn't end up as a permanent cripple but he was fairly certain the gesture wasn't going to be appreciated. Suffice to say that no gesture that provided so much agony was ever truly appreciated even if it was for a creature's own good.

The crack was obvious and very audible.

The sound was enough to make the white teenager freeze in the pond, his shoulders stiffening considerably - honestly, that really wasn't the type of noise you wanted to hear on any normal day, let alone one like he'd had!

What he was telling her about grace was something the young harpini already knew. For every waking second in her time with the flock and throughout most of her still early life she had been around such amazingly graceful women. Because of this Kaia did have a great learning environment to learn grace and poise from. Sadly the only thing stopping her was her body, it had seemed no matter how hard she tried when her body was not in the act of dancing she was a fumbling klutz. Little mishaps of tumbling down were normal for her at this young age. The actions leading up to her tumble this time just made her normal cut or boo-boo ten-fold worse. Boy, today just happened to be her lucky day in the matter!

We won't also say that grace wouldn't be the first thing on those "Graceful mares" minds with a purewalker hot on their trail!

One day when she was older and her more use to her long body in her own way she would be graceful. It would prove to be one of her stronger points in fact, but one that would bite her in the a** seeing how it would bring unwanted attention to her form and body with the male eye. It was funny how at this moment in time the young filly oh so wanted to jump up and show this cheeky red unicorn with the right moves she wasn't some absent minded filly who couldn't even see a pothole to save her own life. Yes, his little jibes hidden in back watered comments were getting to the girl. Her normal iron guard against such attacks was cracking from the stress of the day, as well the fact that this was one of the worst moments in her young life yet. Getting cranky would be the best way to describe her souring mood -even if it was an understatement.

Her own gaze never left him as he turned his head to muse his thoughts over. Her emotion were like a open book if anyone looked at her, she was confused yet annoyed at the way the unicorn was acting. Her thoughts had worked themselves so tightly around trying to figure out if all horned beings acted like this sort of like the strange bat people and being grumpy, or if it was just in the nature of this one stallion to be so well infuriating, yet so calm at the same time. The pain that still was shooting up from her leg seemed to dull as her mind was taking off to another subject. Kaia had always been able to do this, to zone off so far in her thoughts as she worked out something that she could block out most things around her such as: Noises, pain, images, even temperature for a period of time. It was a trait that annoyed her sister to no end since Kaia would drift off during one of her rants about males and childish dreams about taking over parts of the world. She meant no disrespect from it, it was just something she couldn't help.

Her little break from the world was cut short by his prodding of her twisted leg again. That amount of pain that a simple touch brought was too much for even her in mid-thought to ignore. With a whimper passing through her lips Kaia opened her eyes, (Which she hadn't even noticed had closed!) to look up at Persaeus once more. So it seemed that her hero had found the least delicate doctor in all of the area! At least hopefully he would be able to fix them both before sending them on their way.

Wait what was that he had said? Something about grace and work? With a couple of blinks and some hard piecing together Kaia figured out what he had commented on why she was still in her daze. "O-oh! Yes...I-I will keep working on it." It wasn't a lie, once her leg had healed and she could run freely around again there was no doubt the harpini would go back to her training on her body to hold the same -if not more amount of grace that she had grown up around and wished for herself.

The filly didn't have enough time to come back with a reply to his other question before his bright tail wrapped it's self around her leg and tightened. There was a surge of pain that came from her leg, making her body jerk in response to it. Nothing could prep her though for the agony that came from him jerking her leg towards him. Matching the very audible crack came a piercing scream from the child, her voice being the only outlet she had to deal with the pain for a few short seconds. Right after her scream tapered off as her eyes rolled into the back of her head. In a snap Kaia's mind shut down from the shock and felt it best if she just wasn't awake why the unicorn worked.

It was most likely for the best seeing that he was just starting on the healing, at least now Persaeus would not have to deal with a flailing, screaming filly why he worked his magic.

Pollack

There were benefits to a patient falling unconcious in the middle of tratement. Admittedly, falling unconcious while critically ill was a bad thing but when it came to issues such as breaks, strains and large cuts, their ability to faint proved invaluable to most healers. After all, an unconcious individual was less likely to flail and cause additional damage to the limb - with this in mind, they were less likely to shriek abuse and cause any unnecessary headaches to the individual treating them! In the case of Persaeus, this was an instance in which her decision to faint was very much appreciated as it was safe to say the stallion didn't appreciate headaches as it was.

With the tiny filly lost to the world for the time being, the stallion made quick work of her injuries. Without anything to disturb or distract him, he set about realigning her 'ankle' properly and when he was satisfied, he summoned up the strength from within. Setting his horn upon the injured limb, he waited expectantly and sure enough, in a matter of moments, a milky white light had descended over the limb. Licking, lapping and otherwise caressing, it wasn't long before another series of clunks, cracks and clicks could be heard. To any passerby it would've been a positively miserable soundtrack but they were good sounds contrary to popular belief.

All in all, the process took approximately ten minutes.

Fortunately when he did finish the stallion seemed more than just 'satisfied' with the end result and gently nudged at the now healed limb with his tail. It would be tender for a period of weeks and the muscle would definitely be 'confused' in terms of the damage it had sustained... But overall, the bone had now been repaired and was strong. Once the muscles had recovered from their bruising then the filly would be absolutely fine, hell, she could even break her ankle again if she really wanted to though he sincerely hoped he wasn't the one who would be treating her next time!

"Now for you," he said finally, flicking his gaze towards the white stallion who was regarding him with some form of appreciation, but also something that bordered on wariness. Persaeus couldn't quite place exactly what it was, but it was certainly amusing to observe from the sidelines - teenagers were bizarre creatures. "Don't look at me as if I'm about to bite your nose off, the gash needs seen to, at the very least the blood needs to be stopped."

"I need to go home," Tut replied flatly.

"Peachy, but you won't get anywhere if you die from blood loss... Now shut up and come here, I'll seal the damn wound at the very least," Persaeus ordered, his nose wrinkling in distaste as he left the unconcious harpini's side and approached Tut. It wasn't long before he had at least halted the flow of blood and seared the wound shut, though he suspected that prolonged use would simpyl reopen it. Regardless, it would do for now...especially when the prat seemed so determined to go home.

"Thank you," Tut murmured, finally remember his manners as he glanced at his flank and then back to Kaia. "But I need to go home," he repeated and shook his head. "I can't stay - you'll take care of her, right?" he continued, a sense of obligation falling across his chest. Oddly, it was with a flicker of irritation that he watched Persaeus hesitate and then finally accept the request.

"Fine, I'll babysit her until she wakes up," Persaeus replied wrily before nodding abruptly. "Now shove off before I change my mind," he ordered in such a tone that Tut was quick to obey it and stumble off on his way!

A few hours had pasted since the young harpini had passed out, why she knew nothing of what went on after her world went black her body did know that it was safe to wake up now. The child was making up for lost sleep from not being able to have a good night out of pure, childish fears that were brought before her and her sister now that they were all alone. Funny how she had always been scared of the night feeling that there were monsters told in horror stories lurking around to easily make a meal out of the klutzy child, now it seems that the daytime was the time she should be worried about! Still even she knew that she could not stay in this spot forever, not only was her unknown babysitter's patience most likely was running out, somewhere out there her sister's patience was also running low. She had been far too late coming home already, goodness knows how long it would take her to hobble back to their meeting spot! By that time Nakita would have most likely set off in a frantic rush to find her. God's help her when she was found, the young harpini was in for a earful and a half when she was found. At least though she could be thankful to be alive to hear such an angry rant!

Her head wings twitching before folding down to rest over her eyes to block out the late afternoon sun was the first sign that she was stirring awake. It was slow, but it was a sure thing now. One eye cracked open then closed, letting the other eye lift up as well. It was very much like an owl blink but with how dazed and fuzzy in the head she felt honestly it was about the only thing that came to mind at the moment. Baby steps, baby steps would allow her to wake up to get her rainbow butt back home. Her head lifted after her eyes got use to the new brightness shining in them, it swayed softly as she glanced around lazily to her surroundings. What even happened? She could remember the blue demon cat attacking her, her hero saving her, and then meeting up with the horned one but after that? She was drawing up blanks. It frustrated her honestly knowing that somewhere she was missing a piece for the life of her though she just couldn't reach it! Well alright let's start at the start. She was laying by a lake and it was now late afternoon, coming onto dusk judging by the sun's rays. Check. And...she....was alone? She had a feeling the horned one was not one to stay loyal but did her hero also leave? So it had seemed so. That wasn't surprising seeing how he had already done more than he should with her, plus who wouldn't want to just go home and just heal why this strange, bloody event became nothing but a memory? Kaia certainly did. With a drawn out sigh she drew her legs under her, getting ready to lift herself up when it hit her like a ton of bricks.

Her leg wasn't hurting. It wasn't broken. It was just fine, if aside from being a tad sore. Ding! Mystery thing that she wasn't able to figure out? Just figured out.

Holy mother of gods. The tales and myths around the horned beings were true, their ability to make horrible injuries seem to fade away were not a over stretched tale among overly daft and a bit lost men and women. As a large, over joyed grin formed on her lips she lifted herself right up. She did wobble a bit, the soreness in her leg rearing up again to shout out at her 'Hey! Watch it, I'm healin' here! Be more careful.' Still it was better than the agony that she was in before. Soreness? Psh, she could handle that with a stride now. Lifting her once broken leg up she stretched it out, rolled it, and just generally tested her limb out like the mad scientist she was. It was not only for her own curious nature she did this, but also to make sure what limits there. So far she couldn't overly stretch too far, or put all her weight on it without getting a shot of pain which meant running or normal walking was out of the question, but she could hobble for now which was better than anything.

Lean forward, one step, two step and repeat. There we go, now she had a rhythm! The young harpini had just made it a couple of feet forward, her tan front torso brushing into the light when a flash of red caught her eye. From the spot that she had wiggled into in her sleep she wouldn't be able to see the dozing unicorn, yet now at a full stand he was at full view. Huh! So he didn't leave her? How bizarre. Still, a deep thank you was in order...as well as a apologie for her being so snippish.

Once she had gotten her stiff body into a moving it seemed to work like gears, one moving the other as she made her way over to the brightly colored unicorn. Being as weak as she was made her move slowly, in order to keep her hopes high Kaia kept thinking about a story she had once was told with her sister; who scoffed it off as non-sense. It was about some sort of hare, a bunny perhaps? As well as a turtle. Both animals were racing each other in a race that in normal nature wouldn't be happening in the first place but stories tend to look these key facts, any who, the turtle's slow, yet steady course of action won out instead of the bunny...hare...rabbit whatever's fast paced, tiring course which left him unable to race due to burning himself out too quickly. Kaia was the turtle, slow, steady, as her sister would say just bumbling along at a nice set pace. She saw no real reason to rush this since doing so would wear the poor harpini out at just the start of her journey back to the meeting spot that had become the temporary home to the two sisters. Where would she be then? Kaia couldn't risk being out in the dark alone even when she was healthy, let alone hobbling around like someone had turned her limbs into wood! The blue cat wasn't the only thing in these lands looking to make a meal out of someone like her; this she knew at least and god's be damned after making it out of today she was not just going to happily fumble into another predator's jaws! The things that had flashed in her mind as she laid in the dirt, crying, thinking she was going to die gave her a fierce drive to go on. Far too much left to do, too many things left unsaid, too many things left unexplored, too many things she wanted to see in this lifetime of hers. First of them being was to get the thank you over with the horned being and be able to see her sister once more. She'd start with that, since it did seem fairly simple.

Finally though the young child made her way over to the sleeping male. Her front legs wobbled in want to rest under her but she resisted to the request, feeling that once she went down there was no way she was getting back up for the night. Instead her neck craned down to allow her dirty muzzle to nose the male, rising him enough to allow her to make a shaky speech. "Um...I-I...really w-want-t to thank-k you for fix-xing me! And...oh um I-I'm terribly so-rry for being so r-rude, t-there's no excuse for that! I...h-hope..." Well she hoped for a lot of things, still what could she hope for this male in the future? She didn't know much about him, so it wasn't like she could wish him well in a personal way. "Y-you have a good day! A-and your magic doe-sn't ever go out!" All those grace comments he made earlier? Clearly forgotten as the filly folded her head wings over her head, her normal blush rising up her cheeks, and a nervous frown played upon her face. Normal, shy, awkward Kaia was back at least. A sign to come that after this the filly would have no real issues going back to her self, if not just more wary about the world around her.

She couldn't handle waiting for a response, her nerves getting the better of her as she hobbled backwards with her legs scooting up to allow her body to turn 180. Deep breath, lean forward, one...two...three! She's off! Kaia couldn't say for sure if the unicorn would even remember her words, he did in fact look half asleep when she said them, but knowing that she put forth the effort made a load off her chest. It was like a sense of obligation had fallen from her chest, which was quite a nice thing to be rid of. She could now make it back to her sister, her old quest that had become her life. This day may bring nightmares in nights to come, but as the child grows into a adult she can look back on this at least and learn key life lessons from it that would guide her into making better choices in the years to come. Something she always called the fated day, simply because fate acted in so many ways to allow all of the events to take place in one seamless scene. This day changed her fate many times over from just the scars on her lower back and soreness in her leg when running. In time as well she would learn that fate had a way of tying up loose ends, but that was to come on a different day, hell, a different year. It would be just another day stringed up in a line of events waiting to happen, only coming on when the time is right that will tie into a bigger picture.

Funny how a overly curious filly wanting to explore can set off all this? Last life lesson of the day: Never underestimate the twist fate has in store.
