"No, no," he said with a slight chuckle. "It's a common symptom of hangovers, so I thought I'd ask before seeing if you wanna go get breakfast." He arched his back slightly, twisting at the waist a few times. "Eggs, toast, bacon, and coffee are all home remedies for hangovers, so..." Not to mention he was rather hungry himself, and even the thought of bacon was enough to make his stomach growl.

Claire was visibly relieved at his answer, managing to relax a bit more. "Oh, good." That would have been absolutely humiliating, ugh... "Is it? I've only ever had one before, and I don't really remember much about it." No, she'd been completely preoccupied the next morning, and had plenty of other things to worry about.
She perked up at the thought of breakfast, remembering suddenly she hadn't exactly eaten much for dinner the night before. Wasn't drinking on an empty stomach a bad idea? Apparently the previous night she'd made plenty of stupid moves. "Breakfast sounds wonderful," she said, eying him as he stretched and suddenly felt a pang of guilt, knowing it was her fault he hadn't slept too well the night before. "You slept in a really uncomfortable position last night, I'm sorry," she said apologetically. It had been her own damned fault anyway, poor guy...

"Breakfast it is, then," he grinned. "If you want we could play it fancy and hit up some place in Camphoreon. The cafeteria eggs can be a bit... worrying, if you know what I mean." What he meant was that they were often a strange consistency and a stranger color, never mind the flavor.
"Wha--? Oh, no, I was fine," he assured, waving a hand dismissively. "Honestly I didn't even realize I wasn't in my own bed until I looked around." Lying 101: Selective Dispensation of the Truth. He really had been confused, but it wasn't because he had been comfortable. In fact, if his neck and back had voices, Claire would have known just how much of a lie it was, because they were absolutely screaming in protest. He'd been in worse situations before, though, and felt he was well-prepared to deal with a sore back.

Yes, she had to agree - she normally passed on the cafeteria eggs. They always looked... rather questionable. "That sounds wonderful," she said with a smile. "I don't normally go to the restaurants in Camphoreon."
She watched him as he completely denied the fact he hadn't slept well at all, and she couldn't help but chuckle a bit at it, smirking slightly. "You liar, that had to have been the most uncomfortable position to sleep in. I really am sorry." He'd probably need a masseuse or something to help his back.

"Ah, that makes two of us, then. I've been to Camphoreon once to pick up some supplies from the outpost-" happy soap, "-but I've never actually been into the city proper." He had arrived in Makko's small port and spent the majority of his time in Sandalwood before enlisting with Team Rocket, and while he had heard a great deal of the city, he had never had the opportunity to experience it. "It'll be an adventure, then, huh?" He grinned; nothing like a good old-fashioned adventure to start the day!
He laughed a bit, his smile remaining. "You've got to stop apologizing for stuff that's not your fault, especially when I'm telling you that I'm fine." And anyway, talking about it was making him want to stretch his shoulders, which would completely give away his already-mostly-given-away lie. "But yeah, you mind if I head back to my room and hit up a change of clothes before we head out?" Because at this point, the clothes that he was wearing were practically pajamas, awful wrinkles included.

Her eyebrows rose at his response, obviously surprised he'd never been to the city before. "Really? I've been there several times," a literal run-in with a short girl, the events leading up to the capture of a certain Pikachu, and the circumstances in which she broke her arm, all briefly flitted through her mind. She couldn't help but smile again though. "Adventure's always fun." Well, usually.
"Of course, I need to change too. Want to meet somewhere in, maybe 20 minutes?" She picked a random amount of time, not really sure how long it would take either of them to change. That said, she stood up and stretched, ignoring the sparse popping sounds her back made from the effort as it cracked. "Of course it's my fault, so I have every right and obligation to apologize," she countered, putting her hands on her hips with a smirk. "And I know the first thing you'll do when you walk out that door is stretch where I can't see you." Because that would obviously admit he was very uncomfortable, so he couldn't very well do it where she could see him.

"Awesome, I'll just trust your sense of direction, then," he said. They could always just pick the first place the found serving breakfast and eat there, but picking the first street they came across that looked like it would head back towards the desert was not the best way to not get lost.
"What? No I won't!" His response was given in the same tone as that of a child holding a cookie behind his back whose mother had just asked him if he had taken a cookie. "And anyway, sure, 20 minutes is fine. I'll wait in the garage."
He departed from the room with a slight wave of his hand, making a point of yawning - not stretching - as soon as he was out of sight. Once that was out of the way, he proceeded to rotate at his waist, roll his shoulders and neck, and raise his arms vertically. Arceus, it was like he had been waiting years for the opportunity to scratch an itch and could finally get to it. He continued with a series of smaller, more localized stretches as he moved down the hall and towards his own room, where he took a brief shower, dressed himself in non-wrinkled clothes, and grabbed a quick pain-killer - just for good measure. He remembered to grab Merry's and Snow's pokeballs before leaving and proceeded to the garage where he signed out a vehicle and waited for Claire to arrive. This would be only the second time he had ever left the base... Adventure!

"Yes you will!" She argued with a grin, amused at his tone. Either way, he would do something like that. Stretch, yawn - something. He hadn't had a good night's sleep and it was extremely obvious.
However, as soon as he left she took a quick shower to help wake herself up (and to try to alleviate some of the hangover side-effects), then changed into clothes that hadn't been slept in and made horribly wrinkly. She slipped a white belt through the belt loops around her waist and, as an afterthought, slid a small, thin balisong into place on the inside of her belt. Just in case.
She took a couple painkillers as well and recalled the still asleep Zeus from under the bed, and clipped both pokeballs to her belt. That done, she hurried to the rec room to see if she could find her stress ball, intending to leave if she couldn't find it within two minutes. Luckily for her it had rolled just under the couch, which was the first place she thought to check, and she stuffed it into the pocket or her coat before heading to the garage.
Claire was just shoving her other arm into the sleeve of the slightly puffy black coat, the inside of which was lined with faux fur that spilled over to cover the edges of the hood. Lucas had gotten there first - she figured he would - and she quickly trotted over to him. "I hope you weren't waiting long," she said almost breathlessly. All this moving around so soon after waking up was actually making her feel a little nauseous, but since it didn't seem too bad she didn't bother mentioning it.

He continued stretching in the garage, pausing and taking up some nonchalant pose at every footstep he heard just in case it turned out to be Claire. By the time she did arrive, he had worked out just about every kink he had acquired from slouching all night. "Nah, not long," he said with a wave. "We're with this guy over here," he gestured towards a nondescript black sedan, shrugging on a coat that he had been carrying over his arm and starting in its direction. "Ready to head out?"

"Oh, good," she said with a small relieved sigh. She really hated making people wait, and always liked being punctual. "Ready if you are."
While walking to the sedan she pulled her coat more securely around her middle, then hopped in and snuggled into her coat with a slight shiver. Cold weather had never agreed with her. "I hope it won't be too terribly cold out." Unfortunately she hadn't been out for several weeks and had no idea how low the temperature would be, but she really, really hoped it wouldn't be too bad. Warm weather had always been more appealing.

He nodded and slid into the driver's seat, turning the keys in the ignition and turning on the heat before he went much further. He pulled a seatbelt across his waist and moved to adjust the rearview mirror, laughing as he did so, "Well it is the dead of winter. Camphoreon's close to both the ocean and the desert, though, so it might be at least a bit warmer." He backed out of the parking spot and maneuvered towards the clearance gate where he presented his credentials before proceeding out into the desert.
"You know, it could be worse in a completely different direction. I heard there's a group heading into a volcano today." Not a great deal of information had been disclosed - or leaked - about the assumed mission, but he knew enough about it to think it sounded terribly uncomfortable. Possibly even more uncomfortable than his seat, which he was beginning to suspect was made out of bricks wrapped in iron shaped into spikes. Those pain-killers couldn't kick in sooner...

Following his example, Claire pulled a seatbelt across her lap and once again snuggled into her warm coat, at least until the car heated up a little more. "Yes, that's true. I hope it is a bit warm but I guess I can't expect too much in the middle of winter." Well, she technically could expect a lot but none of those expectations would be met.
"Ugh, really? They should send some of that heat here." She'd heard rumors of another mission soon, but she didn't think it would be today. No matter, she couldn't go regardless because of her arm, even though she had wanted to go very, very badly. "What do you think is in the volcano?" Obviously something good, they wouldn't go there for a bunch of Charmander or something.

"Hah, if only. We could borrow heat from them, they could borrow cold from us, and we're all happy." But the weather didn't work that way, sadly. Well, it sort of did, but not due to the will of humans and not to any extent that could be controlled.
"Hmm, lava, rocks, maybe some smoke..." Oh, wait, she meant what was in it that would be of interest to Team Rocket. "I dunno. Maybe a Moltres or something? A whole mess of super-powered Fire Stones? A colony of naturally shiny Slugma?" It didn't help that he had no idea where this volcano was, not that he would have been able to hazard much of a better guess armed with that information. He wriggle slightly in his seat. The thing was damnably uncomfortable.

She couldn't help but chuckle at the thought, shifting slightly in her seat. "Yeah, that would be wonderful I think. Too bad that's not how it works though," she said with a shrug. It really was too bad... She couldn't wait for warmer weather to come.
Another chuckle escaped her when he mentioned what was literally inside volcanoes. "You forgot magma," she pointed out with a smirk. "And somehow, I don't think it's a bunch of naturally shiny Slugma. Moltres is possible, I don't remember what other legends could withstand so much heat... I know there's a red one, I forget what it's called though." There must be several, but she hadn't seen a reason to brush up on them at all.

"Ahh, yeah, magma. Magma too." He turned his gaze from the road momentarily to acknowledge her contribution with a grin. "Hmm, a red one, huh..." No good, his mind was stuck on birds. Specifically on Moltres. Instead of thinking of other legendaries that preferred warm environments he found himself thinking of different large birds, his thoughts wandering more towards Fearow and Staraptor. No, that wasn't right.
"Well, anyway... Can't say I envy them. I think I wouldn't mind going on a mission some time, but--" He stopped himself when he remembered that he could never retain any memories of mission, reaching up a hand to scratch at his neck idly. He wound up repeating himself as the thought trailed off, "Well, anyway..."
