Rose watched as David bolted after the man, wondering what the heck had just occurred. She shook her head and started following David, she wasn’t sure why, just something she felt she had to do. She followed quietly, making sure neither David not the man he was following knew she was there. She watched from a distance as David nearly attacked the man, watching through cold green eyes. She understood why David was so angry, but she had never seen him like this, which is why she was slightly worried. She moved from the shadows and moved up behind David, saying, “David… are you alright?” She placed a hand on his shoulder and waited for his reaction. She was worried, but her face didn’t show it. She sighed and asked, “David… if he knew you… there may be some way to regain your memories…” Rose clenched one of her fists tightly under her cloak; the words she just said bothered her, and she thought she knew why, but she really didn’t want to admit it.

David jummped when he felt her hand on his shoulder, and he shook his head. "I'm okay" he said to her rubbing his forehead, his gut felt cold as he thought about the encounter and wondered if it would be safe to regain his memories. swallowing slightly he turned back to her and gave her a smile, "I might not be sure i want to regain them now" he chuckled noticing the worry in her eyes and he stared at her slightly shocked by her reaction and he felt his heart might skip a beat.
"come on lets go back to the condo" he said walking past her not entirely beliving the hint of emotion she had shown in her eyes, but hoping he had actually started to break through her shell, taking a chance he reached for her hand to pull her along a light smile on his face.

Rose followed David back to the office; she wondered why he was in such a rush to get back there. She sighed and just let herself be pulled along by him; she wasn’t going to stop David if she tried at this point. She couldn’t admit it, and probably never would, but what David said made her… happy. She was happy that he wasn’t sure that he wanted to regain his memories, because that meant he wouldn’t leave. “David staying makes me happy…” Rose thought, still being pulled along by her arm, “So… if him staying makes me happy… leaving would make me sad… If he regains his memories, he might leave…” Rose slowed to a stop as they reached the office. She sighed and walked in, saying, “I need to check my computer, there might be new jobs for us.” Rose sat down and turned the computer on, checking her mail, she scrolled through looking for anything that could take her mind off of her thoughts.
What she found did the exact opposite. She had received a message from her contact, saying that there were no high level jobs for her, but he had found out some information about David’s identity, maybe even a lead on what happened to get rid of his memories. She stared at the screen for a while, not quite comprehending what she read. After a few moments, she stood up, not bothering to shut down her computer and knocking her chair over and saying, barely above a whisper, “Excuse me David…” Rose quickly ran into her room and shut the door rather loudly. She laid back on her bed and stared up at the ceiling, her thoughts blank except for one subject; David. She tried to think of what would happen if he did regain his memories, what would happen if he didn’t, and why she was so bothered by the whole subject. Did the idea of David leaving really hurt her that much?

The sound of her door slamming vibrated through the condo and David stood behind the kitchen counter blinking as he finished pouring himself a drink. placing the container down and putting a cap on it he looked to Rose's door wondering what had just happened. "Rose?" he asked standing where he was and putting the container of brandy away, looks like the drink would have to wait.
ignoring the computer he walked to Rose's door to listen, not hearing anything he frowned slightly and just stared at the door for a moment, she had been rather quiet since they had left the traning area and he wondered if something he had said had bothered her? maybe it was something he had done? he looked at his hand remembering grabbing hers and being elated when she did not jerk back, but maybe he had read her wrong. Slowly he turned to see the chair toppled over, sighing he shook his head, What a slob he thought walking to the deask and picking up the chair, his eyes caught sight of his name on the computer and he noticed a file for him.
David stood and stared at the file for a moment, there were no jobs, no useless junk, just that file that she had created years ago concerning his history. Slowly he grabbed he mouse and hovered the cursor over the file hesitating for a moment, then looking to Rose's door. Is she... he wondered if she was worrying about him, did she want him to remember? Leaving the computer he walked back to her door, "Rose are you alright?"

Rose heard David on the other side of the door, picking up her chair and asking if she was okay. Rose stayed silent; she didn’t feel much like talking, more so now than how she normally felt about conversations. She stared up at her ceiling, her eyes following the spinning ceiling fan blades as she tried to restore herself to her normal state of mind. Rose sat up on her bed, holding her knees to her chest. She didn’t know what to do; she had never felt like this before. Sighing, she shifted her position on the bed and tried to think. Why did she feel this way, did she really like David that much? Moreover, why was she even thinking these thoughts? Was it because David was, as much as she hesitated to admit it, probably her only friend in the world? He was the only one who really understood her, but why, why did she feel THIS way? She couldn’t stand it, she always got edgy when she just sat around, but there was nothing to do in the middle of the night, and she didn’t want to go anywhere without David. She didn’t know why, she could handle herself, but she just got a feeling like she wanted to stay with David.
Rose groaned quietly and fell over on her side, her head landing softly on her pillow and her dark red hair falling in front of her face. This was what hell felt like, she was sure. She couldn’t sleep, but she couldn’t go anywhere, and her inner turmoil raged like a hurricane. She felt terribly trapped, and wondered just how exactly she could get rid of that feeling. She wanted to just trust her instincts, go with what her body felt was right, but she knew what that meant. She knew she liked him, more than she had ever liked someone before, and she knew what that pointed to. She closed her eyes and stood up, walking to the door and saying, loud enough so David could hear her, “I’m fine David… Just a little… I don’t know…… Can I talk to you?” She opened the door a crack and stared through the opening at David with her bright green eyes, waiting for his reaction. She was fairly certain he would say yes, but she wanted to be sure she wasn’t forcing him to listen. Rose wasn’t sure how to explain how she felt; she normally didn’t feel much of anything, this was one of the first times she ever felt emotions. How would she go about telling David how she felt? Would she just say, blatantly, ‘David I don’t want you to regain your memories because you might leave if you do.’ There had to be a better way of approaching the situation than that. Rose decided she would just follow her instincts once he answered the question.

David stood by the door for several minutes listening to her and waiting patienly, this was not normal for her to be so silent so he waited. When she opened the door he couldnt help but smile, "what is up?" he asked opening the door further, it wasnt like her to be so secrative and she seemed so uncomfortable. "well seeing as we share a condo together, i cant help but listen" he pointed out even though he could feel that something was bugging her, Should i hug her? he wondered, they stood so close together. Maybe she wouldnt like it it was diffrent when they were in public, playing arround with her usually got him a good beating while other people watched and laughed, but here alone with her, did she really have no feelings for him. standing there he did not try anything his light smile staying on his face while inside he was unsure what to do, hoping she would give him some sort of sign as to what she needed right now.

Rose sighed lightly at his comment, she knew all too well what that meant coming from him; it meant he would gladly listen. She opened the door completely and motioned for him to come in. She sat on the bed and folded her hands; she only did this when she was nervous about something. When he sat down next to her she looked at him, then looked forward again, breathing deeply, trying to work up the courage to speak. She took one final breath and said, without looking at him, “David… you’re… the only person I’ve ever let this close to me… I mean… what I’m trying to say is…” Rose took another few deep breaths and continued after a moment, “You know I’ve always been… an emotionless person… but this bothers me…… You’re… you’re my friend David… and coming from me, that’s saying something… You’re probably the only real friend I’ve ever had… and…… I’m afraid… legitimately afraid that if you regain your memories… you’ll leave… and I don’t want that…” Rose paused for a minute and concentrated on her breathing, calming herself down. She looked over at David, but decided she probably shouldn’t if she wanted to remain calm and composed, so she looked back at the wall in front of her and continued, “David… I… just… please don’t leave!” Rose suddenly lunged at David and wrapped her arms around him in a hug. She stayed where she was, not moving an inch, and not quite comprehending what she just did. Rose NEVER hugged anyone at all; she barely showed any emotion ever, so this was probably a surprise beyond measure.

David had been about to joke with her about being her only friend when he was shocked by her sudden lunge, he tensed for a fist in the gut or a jab at his throat when he felt her press against him, her arms wrapping around his shoulders as she hugged him, and he fell back on the bed in surprise. so she did like him, Liked him enough to not want him to leave... he thought about what she said for a moment letting the words sink in realizing she didn't want him to remember and leave her. for a moment he watched her seeming to hold onto him and he wrapped his arms around her lightly and for an instant he could not help himself as he kissed her. he kissed her deeply before realizing what he was doing, and he pulled back suddenly, "Rose, I'm Sorry, i couldn't help myself" he said moving away from her.

Rose was almost as surprised as David when he kissed her. Her face turned a slight pink as he pulled away from her, apologizing. Strangely enough, the fact that he had kissed her didn’t make her want to murder him. She looked at David, searching his face for what she needed to see. Rose needed to know how David really felt about her. Sighing, Rose brushed a lock of her hair out of her face and said, quietly, “It’s alright David… I’m sorry for putting you in that position…… David… what do you think of me? What am I to you… a friend, a coworker, something more…? I need… I need to know.” Rose felt a strange tightening in her stomach; she brushed it off as nervousness and continued to study David’s features, waiting for his reaction. Thoughts buzzed around inside her head, what if David didn’t feel the same about her, what if he just viewed her as a partner? But then why would he have kissed her, would he leave her now, because she put him in this sort of situation? Rose didn’t know and her mind could barely think of anything else but the two of them.

"Rose..." he said moving back to her, "i have always been honest in my feelings for you" he admitted looking into her eyes and seeing the pure unhindered emotion she was actually letting him see. Smiling slightly he picked up her hand again and held it, "you are the only person who has been nice enough to help me these last three years, and i am indebted to you for this Rose," he said looking at her hand then to her face, "but recently there has been much more to my feelings toward you than just Gratitude" he said one had holding hers while the other reached for her chin and tilted her head up to look at him, "to be honest Rose, I-" he blushed slightly, "I think I love you" it wasn't just recently, but the past few years that he had admired her and loved her, he hated it when she got hurt, or was looked at oddly by other men, and he might have been feeling selfish at times, but he liked the fact that it was just the two of them living together. Slowly he bent his head to kiss her.

Rose silently listened to what David said, studying his features, trying to see if he was really telling the truth. She breathed out as she noticed she had been holding her breath. Her heart beat rapidly and she suddenly felt very nervous. When he said he loved her she very nearly gasped, but managed to hold most of it in, passing it off as a small sharp intake of breath. Rose couldn’t help it; she smiled at him and said, “David…” his name hovered in the air between the two of them as she smiled when he leaned in to kiss her. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back. So this was how she felt about him, she loved him too. David would have to deal with the fact that she couldn’t express it in words, not yet anyways; she still wasn’t very comfortable expressing her emotions. As she kissed him, she pushed him back onto the bed, her hands running down his neck to his chest. Her hands moved lower, down to his stomach and she slipped them up under his shirt, trying to remove it. Rose was running purely on instinct now, she hadn’t done this sort of thing before; she was never close enough to anyone for the opportunity to arise.

David awoke at his usual time slightly disoriented at sleeping in an opposite direction to what he was used to, he moved slightly and felt someone in the bed and sat up abruptly noticing it was Rose. he blinked, It actually happened? he thought smiling as he watched her sleep. slowly he fell back into the bed without disturbing her and watched her sleep not needing to get up for any immediate reason as he wrapped an arm around her and pulled her closer preparing to fall asleep again. she had said today would be a day off, maybe he could actually take her some where for them to enjoy an not have a real reason for it. He thought of places as he watched her, she was so relaxed, and happy, his heart practically melted at the sight, he was hers, completely.

Rose slept for a long while; it was almost midday when she finally woke up. She opened her eyes and blinked lightly, aware of where she was, but only vaguely aware of her surroundings. She tried to sit up, but was hindered by something holding onto her. She looked over sleepily to see David, his arm draped over her as he slept. She smiled and kissed him gently, trying to wake him up in an enjoyable manner. “David…” She whispered, “David… we aren’t going to spend our day off in bed are we?” She figured he wasn’t going to wake up so easily, so she carefully removed his arm and slid slowly out of bed, the cold floor waking her up quickly. She slowly and silently changed out of her nightgown into something a bit less comfortable than nothing and quietly headed into the kitchen to make breakfast, or was it lunch? Rose wasn’t sure, but she knew what to make; waffles. Rose knew that David loved waffles, but they had been out on jobs so often lately, that she hadn’t had the chance to make them in what seemed like months. Rose laid out two plates and set to work on making the ultimate breakfast waffles for the two of them, along with whatever else she decided she wanted.

a sweet aroma filled his dream as David was slowly aroused from his sleep. "Waffles?" he mumbled eyes closed as he moved his hand and realized there was no body sleeping under it slowly he opened his eyes and confirmed his suspicions. slowly he sat up, feeling sleepier than he had the first time he had woken that day. he rubbed his eyes momentarily before throwing the blankets off his legs and getting out of the bed to see Rose in the kitchen actually making the waffles, he couldn't remember the last time they had had waffles, "this is a slight surprise" he said smiling as he saw the plates on the table and then moved into the kitchen to watch her work, "you know i can do that for you?" he said leaning on the counter before grabbing a banana and a hand full of walnuts to prepare for the batter. "do we have any eggs or bacon?" he asked knowing they rarely had any actual food in the fridge since they weren't often home. he was surpised the fruit was still as good as it was, he loved fruit which was why it was the only items that didn't go bad.

Rose smiled when David exited the bedroom and walked into the kitchen, she lightly laughed at his comments and said, “Bacon is in the fridge on the bottom shelf, we’re out of eggs regrettably.” Rose switched places with David; he was, after all, the one who knew how to make the waffles just right. She turned to the fridge and grabbed the bacon, setting it on the counter before she got everything ready to make it just perfect. Twenty minutes later, Rose sat down at the table across from David and looked at her breakfast; she hadn’t had a well prepared actual breakfast in a long time. She inhaled the sweet aroma of her waffles before digging in, slowly, rather than her normal speed-eating. She took one bite of the waffles and hummed in delight, saying, “David. How do you do this? These are perfect.” She took another bite and washed it down with a sip of her drink. She sighed happily, finally, a breakfast she could enjoy. “So, what are we going to do today? I still don’t want to be cooped up here all day long. Any ideas?”
