"Every room is a treasure room, Chaonis. Duh." She crossed her arms and sauntered forward, intending to make her way to the center of what once was her bath. "If you don't see treasure all around yourself, then you're a lost cause." Well, he already was a lost cause, but that didn't matter-- even more of a lost cause, she supposed. Not knowing exactly what she was doing, Rosalind continued forward, but not before a crack founds its way beneath her pumps.

It spread around her entire body, then went out a little, and then stopped just as suddenly as it had appeared. Holding her breath, the Soldier of Wealth stopped and turned her head slowly to Chaonis. "Don't. Take. Another. Step." Attempting to step off of the cracking floor, she slowly inched over towards the brunette boy, trying not to agitate the flooring. But, of course, luck was not on her side. The tile cracked even more, and she plummeted into the dark depths beneath her.

For a moment, she was worried she was going to land on spikes, but her fall was broken by something not-spiky. It was too dark to tell what they were, though.

"Stop standing around up there and help me!!"

Chaonis looked at her and wrinkled his nose.

"I wouldn't call any of what I've seen so far 'treasure'," he counted. "Creepy old broken s**t, maybe, but definitely not treasure." He scoffed and looked around again. Did she consider the bathroom a treasure room? It wouldn't surprise him, and he was just working out the proper way to sling that thought at her as a joke when he was interrupted by a less than encouraging sound.

A crack?

He tensed on instinct, sensing trouble before it happened. It wasn't a sixth sense, of course, so much as observational skill. She was walking. The floor cracked. Something was about to break. If there was one thing that Chaonis knew, it was when something was about to break. He glared at her, then, when she warned him, despite the fact that she was just being careful.

"I'm not the one walking," he pointed out, watching her carefully as she tried to move from the breaking area. He offered her his hand, despite all the mocking and glaring, but the floor was not going to work with them, it seemed.

"Rosalind!"

He yelped and charged forward when he saw her tumble out of view. He looked down at the area below, dust and darkness impeding his view and for a moment he was worried. Honestly worried. "Hey! Rosalind?!"

And then he heard her, as obnoxious as ever.

"Well what the hell do you want me to do? You're the one that decided to fall! What's down there?"

"Good job, Chaonis, good job," Rosalind spat sarcastically, since he was obviously at fault for her awful descent into darkness. Peering up at his dumb face, Rosalind groped around for some semblance of familiarity. There were many different trinkets to be found, and if she dropped them, they made a clanking sound. The footing around her wasn't solid, but Rosalind still didn't have any clue as to what was beneath her.

What did she want him to do? She didn't know-- anything!! "Grab something! Pull me out of here! I don't know, Chaonis, but it's dark and I can't see a thing-- hurry up!! I don't know how. Throw something down here. But don't break a thing, or you're paying for it!" He probably didn't have a single cent to his name, but she'd make him pay in other ways.

Chaonis glared at the dusty darkness. If she was barking at him, she was unhurt. Not that he cared. Whatever concern he might have had, she had chased it off with reminding him that she was annoying and impossible to get rid of, anyway. Like she would let something as trivial as a floor giving out under her get in her way of being the center of the universe.

And of course it was his fault the old, rotten, dilapidated building decided it didn't want her standing on that particular spot. Though, he would have taken credit if he could.

Chaonis snorted derisively.

"Maybe I leave you down there? Might do you some good. At least until you ask, or maybe beg, to get you out of there. This demanding thing really isn't doing anything for me." He moved to stand, though, at least to cast a look around to see if there was anything remotely rope like around.

The floor creaked under his movement, the same sound it had made for her, and he hesitated, not wanting to move and end up down there with her.

"Is there anything you can toss up to me? Stop being so lazy."

Continuing to grope around, Rosalind found herself becoming more and more anxious. It was dark, dusty, and she had no control over the situation. She didn't like it when things didn't go her way, so she was prone to throwing fits-- why should she have to find herself out of a situation she got herself into? Absurd!!

"I am absolutely not being lazy, you dolt! I simply do not understand why I'm the one who has to do a man's work." Rosalind made her way to what she assumed was a wall, then sidled along it to the left until she met a corner. "You know what? I don't care-- smash the floor in with your powers until there's enough rubble for me to climb up out of this hole. I can't see a thing and I'm worried that something is going to get me."

The palace was already in disrepair, so what was wrong with just a little bit more wreckage?

Chaonis frowned down at her, his hands on his hips. He shook his head and rolled his eyes, the floor creaking beneath him again.

"Alright, alright, settled own, Miss Priss," he said, sighing heavily. It looked like he was going to have to do all the work to get her out of there, even though she had been the clumsy one to get herself stuck down there in the first place. Of course, her falling through a weak floor probably had less to do with her being lazy and more to do with the building being busted, but that was irrelevant.

Chaonis moved toward the door, aiming to go to the other room to find something he could use as a rope, but no. The decrepit building decided it was not willing to let him go, and instead the floor gave out beneath him and he found himself falling through to join her.

"Oomph," he grunted, landing nearby. He pushed himself up quickly enough, though. Unharmed. "s**t. This place sucks. How about I punch a hole in the damn wall and we get out that way? Geez." Of course, knowing their luck so far it would just collapse on top of them.

"How about you do what I ask next time? Ugh, just once, Chaonis, would I love you to do what I ask. Just. Once." Rosalind continued to travel around in the darkness, listening for Chaonis' voice and following it. Embarrassingly enough, the auburn-haired scout walked straight into Chaonis and fumbled back a little bit. If it weren't so dark, Chaonis would have seen Rosalind's face of detest and anger, not that it was anything out of the ordinary. "Watch where you stand, you oaf."

Dusting herself off, Rosalind thought of their next plan of action. "Look. I need you to bend over and let me step on you. Consider it an honor to be stepped upon by someone like me, really." Without a second thought, Rosalind felt around for Chaonis blindly. She wanted to be prepared to make her departure from the dusty hole and follow his movements. "Be quick, would you?"

Chaonis grumped, looking at her as she told him off. He didn't like people telling him off, but at least she had a point. He didn't want to be stuck down here any more than she did. Least of all with her being so insufferable about the whole thing.

"You never ask," he pointed out stubbornly, though he was ruffled from falling and trying not to seem embarrassed or put out. "You always just bark orders around."

He ran a hand through his hair, looking around the dark room. Where had they landed, anyway? There seemed to be a bunch of stuff in it, but he couldn't make out what any of it was. When she ran into him he turned his head on instinct, his nose bumping hers. He rolled his eyes and let her get away from him, frowning at her shadow in the darkness.

"You want to... what?" he scoffed. "I'm not sure I'm comfortable about bending over for you." But her hands hit his face as she was groping in the dark and he sighed, catching them and putting them on his shoulders. His back was to her. He then reached behind him and grabbed hold of her, hoisting her up and bending forward a bit, bracing his legs.

"Start climbing," he grunted, at last able to stand with her on his back, expecting her to climb up and stand on his shoulders for height. "And don't let your damn skirts eat me."

Her first instinct was to start slapping at the manhandling, but before she knew it, Rosalind was making her way up towards the area from where the two had fallen from. "My skirts will only eat you if you look up. That's how they are." Pushing her heel into the top of Chaonis' head and pushing up, Rosalind finally found herself near the top. If only her upper-body strength were stronger! After a short duration of struggling, the Soldier of Wealth ungracefully pulled herself over the top and looked down into the dark depths.

"Hm. Now, I think it's time to go home... Thanks for the help, Chaonis!" She was only joking, of course, but she'd let him stew down there while she found something to pull the jerk up with her. After that, she was so done spelunking in her palace. There was obviously nothing in the current room that suited the task, so Rosalind back-tracked to the previous room. The one filled with the lovely statuettes! After looking around, Rosalind decided that the drapes were perfect for just the occasion. "I'll make him pay me back for these later," she noted mentally, the pulled the extravagantly-woven drapes down. After several minutes of tinkering around with them and tying the fabrics together, the auburn-haired scout pulled the makeshift rope back to the ruinous-floor room.

"Look lively," Rosalind sang down into the abyss while throwing the drapes down, "I hope you didn't get too bored. Not that it matters."

"I'm trying to hide my crushing disappointment to not get another peek up your skirt," he grunted, more focused on trying to get them out of this hole and going back to exploring the whole 'in space' type deal.

A sharp pain called his attention.

"Your HEEL is in my HEAD," he yelped, though his loud tone made something nearby groan in protest. Or warning. He hushed himself, though his hissing tone was now filled with acid. "That hurts, damn it!"

Once she was free he stared up at her impatiently.

"You gonna let me up?"

He heard her jest, though, and then saw her wander off. He stared at the space she had been, shaking his head, arms folded over his chest. "Goddamn it, you better get back here soon! After I came down here to save your butt, this is how you thank me? Next time I'm leaving you in teh goddamn hole!"

At least she returned in short order. He looked at the drapes she tossed down to him. "Do these match the carpet?" He moved over to them to get a hold, his foot kicking something and making him looked down. Frowning thoughtfully, he didn't bother kicking whatever it was off his ankle as he made to climb up, once he was sure it was mostly secure. He scrambled up and could see well enough to take a look at what he had brought up with him. A pair of goggles, it seemed.

"These yours? I bet they bring out your eyes." He grinned.

Looking at the goggles, Rosalind sneered. "Those ratty things? They're definitely not mine. I have something called class, Chaonis." She waved a hand dismissively, as if she wanted them out of her sight, then turned her back to Chaonis and made her way back to the previous room. That was certainly an adventure! Enough of an adventure for Rosalind, atleast. The auburn-haired soldier continued towards the entrance, thankful to see the star-strewn, velvety space sky. The pale blue planet was still suspended above them.

"Are you really wearing those nasty goggles? Ugh, leave them be. I'll buy you a nicer pair back home if you really need some. A work of charity, if you will!" Rosalind smiled coyly, then sat on a bench a few steps away. "Do you want to just. I don't know... relax for a minute?" Rosalind began to speak subaudibly, a little embarrassed by her request.

Chaonis looked at the goggles, turning them over in his hands. They looked fine to him, at least. Hell, he thought they looked cool, really. A bit old, anyway.

He felt a little strange for a moment, looking at those goggles, and he took a long moment before he came out of his reverie and put the goggles on his head. Old, sure, but there was no harm in wearing them just to bother Rosalind.

"Why don't you like this? They're here in Rosaland."

He watched her go sit down, following after her. Arching an eyebrow, he cautiously sat next to her, leaning back and trying to look languid.

"This isn't a trap is it? I just saved your butt, after all."

"A trap? Do you honestly think I care enough to set up a trap after I nearly died? Or, for that matter, do you think I have ever cared at all?" Crossing her arms, Rosalind cocked an eyebrow and turned her head away in a huff. Why had she even brought him along in the first place? It wasn't like he was useful for anything other than being annoying and destructive. Right? Most definitely! "You know, sometimes you seem like you're not so terrible, but then you just say really idiotic things. And there's always you not being able to hold back your insatiable thirst to destroy everything in sight. Ugh."

Stretching away from Chaonis, Rosalind looked around in a somewhat bored manner. "You're going to put those hideous things back, right? She meant the goggles, obviously.

Chaonis sighed. Despite his protests and his eagerness for adventure and all things danger, he was tired and imagined a rest might do them both good. They had come quite a long way, after all, only to fall through floors.

Sitting down wasn't a terrible idea.

He watched her as she huffed at him, almost not hearing her words. She was always saying similar things, anyway, so he could likely just spin his 'wheel o'Rosalind insults' in his head and react to that. Whatever random retort he threw out would still ruffle her feathers. Or rather, voluptuous skirt of many fabrics.

"So, what, are you saying you don't like me? All this time, I thought we were... and you were... I feel like my life is a lie," he said dramatically, looking crushed. "Why would you lead me on so expertly, never betraying once before that you actually hate me? Or... actually. No, wait. You say that kind of s**t all the time. No, it's okay, I'm not upset. I forgive you."

He grinned at her.

"Now that this ugliness is behind us, what should we do now? There's no other floors you want to fall through, right? Though, the dust and cobwebs in your hair really bring out your eyes." He slipped the goggles down over his face, though they were broken, making a show that he was not, in fact, going to put them back any time soon.

"Oh, resplendent times. I'm forgiven. Hmph!" Rosalind stood up, dusting herself off of any offending cobwebs and dirt. Even if it was just Chaonis who could see her at that moment, the Soldier of Wealth did not want to be caught looking a mess. No, she certainly didn't-- in fact, that was the last thing she wanted. Neither of them would ever budge, would they? They were both set in their ways, both were old dogs that were beyond being taught new tricks. "Oh, Chaonis!" Rosalind began, exasperated, "you've known how I feel the entire time?" She looked into his eyes, then into the sky, dramatically.

"If... If that's the case, what are we doing here, just arguing like crazy people?" Inching closer, Rosalind smiled coyly. Surely he'd fall for her act. If he didn't... Well, obviously, if he didn't he was either A) homosexual, or B) asexual. The moment he touched her, though, she'd make sure to shriek 'what are you doing?!'
