Riley laughed freely at his hesitant response, turning so that she sat directly beside him, and pulling him against her with one arm. Her voice was smooth as silk as she coaxed him gently.
Don't be silly, Christof. I'm only looking out for your best interests. I know what you want. She squeezed his hand softly, and cocked her head to look him straight in the eye. I only make deals that are in the best interests of those I care about. I would never make an excellent igor such as yourself do menial tasks. Never. I want to utilize your well honed abilities to their furthest potential. Why, if you were my igor.. no. Since we shall be working together on the solution for your friend, I would not leave Malodore out of this. If you were our igor, you would become the stuff of legend. There is no room for us at the bottom of the ladder. There is too much to be learned, too much to do, and with you at our side.. I highly doubt we would have any problems whatsoever.
She was laying it on thick, but deep down she wasn't even lying to get his allegiance. She truly believed that anyone who gave their allegiance to herself and Malodore, would benefit greatly when the world was hers theirs.
She brushed the backs of her fingers against his cheek. You would even be a driving force behind the work we do to help your friend get a new body. What more could you ask for?

Christof found himself with a very curious series of emotions welling up and nearly bursting out of him, but they each were fighting to climb up to the top and be the victor. Finally, after a long and arduous battle leaving several emotions impaled and dismembered and left for dead, the final triumphant feeling crawled to the surface, his eyes lighting up with excitement... but it was followed closely by a second feeling, a quieter, more tricky emotion that didn't bother to touch his face, instead traveling down from her gentle fingers on his neck and and from her firm grip on his hand. Once he remembered to breath again, his legs shifted once more, Y-yes, Mistress... was all he could think. Yes, Please...
It took him a moment to find himself again, If you can convince Master Malodore, I will bring Miss Amrita. His internal voice had lost it's waver and hesitation. He knew what needed to be done to complete this task, and he was intent on rising to the challenge.

Riley could hear his emotional and physiological response in his voice, and her unoccupied hand clenched into a fist at her lap, as she silently enjoyed her victory. Excellent. She purred, taking the hand she still held and holding it gently against the middle of his chest. She leaned in, and even though her voice was not an audible sound, she moved her face to his ear. Her next words came in a very soft, very gentle whisper, carefully emitted to only one very particular set of synapses of the brain - so that it was as close to whispering in his ear as a thought could get.
Then we have a deal?

His breath hitched in his throat, his face it's unique patches of various crimson as he squeezed her hand as well, Yes, Mistress. For the first time, the word really felt like it held meaning. Not just a formality, but a title. It felt right.

Riley smiled as the words filtered into her mind, and her hand squeezed his softly. The air in the room grew thick, hard to breath, and the lights dimmed considerably. The backs of her fingers brushed across his chest, leaving tingles on the skin where her fingers touched. A simple, but elegant design began to etch in red across his chest, stretching across it. She kept her hold on his hand until the very tip of the design was placed, and then let his hand go. The red-hot coloring faded to a deep black, and the air thinned back to normal. The lights flickered for a moment, popping, before returning to life.
Christof. I suspect this is just the beginning of something truly wonderful. She backed away, her eyes crinkled heavily in lieu of a smile.

The familiar burning sensation made him tense, and even if the room hadn't felt so thick he would have stopped breathing. It was a larger mark than Barth's, and his free hand went up to grip his shirt and vest until the burning subsided. His breathing returned slowly, and he reached up to unwind his scarf and unbutton the top of his shirt to try to see what she had done to him. This was a Real mark. For good, proper reasons. Pride bubbled up inside and he didn't bother to do the buttons up again as he practically dove for his backpack, thoughts bubbling with excitement and warmth, Wouldn't want you to get in trouble, Mistress... but I do have forms left over from aiding Master Mudd before- obediently, he offered up the proper Form the Sloth demon had coerced him into completing for him not too long ago. He offered them up to her with utmost seriousness on his face.

Riley was a little taken back by the fact that there were.. there were..
Forms? This school has forms they require demons to fill out for our marks? She looked a little pale. Is there no end to the insult this place will encumber upon us? She took the forms with a sigh, placing them on her lap. She sagged visibly, before leaning against Christof.
Honestly, sometimes I really reconsider our choice to come here. I feel so.. exposed. She shuddered slightly, and then looked at the forms, before turning to give him a happier look. I appreciate you looking out for me. This is exactly why I wanted you on my side, Christof. I will fill these out and send them in to the office immediately, I suppose. I despise letting anyone else in on our business.. but I will go through the proper channels for now. Until this place, and all within it.. Her fist clenched slightly - the sound of paper crunching within punctuated her words - is mine.
She immediately released the paper and began smoothing it, before standing to saunter to her desk and placing the papers upon it, before swiveling quickly to return to standing in front of him. She rose a finger to her chin, tapping it slightly.
First thing tomorrow morning, I will speak with Malodore. You should find Amrita, and discuss things with her. Then, perhaps, we shall meet up together and figure this thing out. I'm very excited, Christof. Her eyes crinkled happily. Working together on such a complex project sounds very beneficial. There is so much to be learned.. she shivered in excitement.

If Christof had been a werewolf, his tail would have been wagging enthusiastically as she took the forms from him, and he probably would have prostrated himself at her feet, panting enthusiastically while begging for belly rubs for being such a good boy. But he was an Igor, and had more dignity than that. I am sure my Creator sent me here for a reason. There's a lot about the world I don't know, Like ghouls, for example. He murmured slightly defensively of their place in the school. Paperwork was a formality that he had to respect- he had read the form. It kept things fair. They could set the terms down clearly-
But on the same note, they had to be careful- he was not about to get in trouble again. The last Detention had been... worse enough. Mistress, we probably shouldn't... explicitly phrase our deal I assume... he didn't seem too concerned with what she might want from *him*. As far as he could surmise, anything she'd throw at him he'd be game to catch.

Riley moved down to crouch in front of him, amusement filtering her gaze. Christof, I deeply appreciate your concern. She put her hand on his knee and patted it. I will not put any of us in danger. I will not be putting any information in these forms that is not strictly public knowledge. In fact, I will be wording it rather carefully. You haven't a care in the world, as long as you remain loyal to me. This I will always promise you. Her look was half-lidded, and sly. If the school wishes to keep their thumb pressed me, they will find me a bit too slippery to remain there for long.
She stood up again, only to move back to her bed, where she pushed herself back to the pillows and lounged languidly against the backboard.
But the forms will have to wait until the morning. If there is one thing I refuse to do, it is to start something I have no plans on finishing. Should I sit at my desk and begin the process, I shall surely fall asleep again.

He shifted, uselessly a moment as he watched her retreat to her bed, and the two remaining emotions on the subject had caught each other's gaze across the room and drawn their knives again. Ultimately, it was the Igorish compulsions that won out, although the other still lived, albeit crawling into a quieter, more secluded area of his psyche, Is.. there anything I can get you, Mistress?

Riley looked pleased as could be, and shook her head. Not tonight. We have so much to do tomorrow! You should head back to your dorm and get a great deal of rest. The world awaits us tomorrow, Christof. She sat up, and then crawled forward, before laying on her stomach and looking up at him. Truthfully I don't know if I will be able to sleep at all, but I will try. Her eyes were moon shaped in happiness. You should too.

He slouched, a bit disappointed by the dismissal, but her enthusiasm was welcome, Yes, Mistress. And... and I'll fix your window latch tomorrow too, I'm sorry about that, I really did think this was... the other window. Swallowing, if only to delay the moment he added, But I'm glad it was yours. He looked ready to huddle in the corner all night for the moment she needed anything, be it a glass of water, a fluffed pillow or a freshly harvested kidney if she wasn't too careful. Are you sure you don't need anything? He added hopefully, taking a half hearted step towards the window.

Riley could sense his disappointment, which was not at all what she expected, she perked slightly, watching him take his half-hearted step away, and blinked.
Well, no.. but, Christof. Is something wrong? Do you not want to go back to your dorm? She couldn't imagine why he was so hesitant to leave, and she thought she'd given him much to be excited about, yet here he was looking as forlorn as ever. This was contrary to her plans.
If you don't want to leave, I wouldn't force you. I simply assumed you wanted to get back.

But what if you need something? He didn't even know how to use his skelephone, or if he even had one. Did they come with the dorm room? He hadn't checked. Lizzy's portable one had seen so dauntingly complicated. With Barth he had always been eager to leave, sometimes it was fun to hang with his other Master, playing his video games and helping him with his devices he was too lazy to complete on his own, but other times it had been tedious. It was more like a game than anything. But this.... this was serious Igoring. She might have been young, by her species standards or she wouldn't have been at the school, but already she reeked of power. He wasn't sure what he should do, it was difficult to get into the Demon Dorms as an undead, even if he had good reason to be there, the other demon students didn't always understand.
I could... I could get you a drink or more blankets or... or do you need any parts? A brain perhaps? There are a few good ones in the graveyard I saw, I'm not sure how fresh it is, though or what your preference is, or I could feed your pets or give you a bath or- He winced, he hadn't meant to think the last bit at all, let alone directly at her.

So intrigued was Riley at the idea of being brought brains, that she all but missed the last part. Somewhere in the back of her mind she rose an eyebrow, but otherwise she let it go.
You're tempting me. I'm actually quite full at the moment, thanks to a recent hunting trip.. but bringing me brains will never go unappreciated, in general. Besides that, I really don't want you doing such trivial tasks, Christof. They are beneath you. She reached out and patted his cheek. You'll do great things for us, I promise. Feeding my pets shall not be one of them.
She slid back onto her bed, and her legs lifted before disappearing into the covers. I sense distress in you at the thought of leaving. I will give you the free choice. Should you wish to go back to your dorms, do so at any time. If you wish to stay, there is a plush chair to your left. And the desk is yours to use if you so wish. What matters is that you know you are given the choice. She pressed her head against her pillow, rubbing into it.
