Skan watched as the pair before him gathered themselves. There was a story between them, one that perhaps he could coax out at another time. Right now was where they would hear of their future, and only they could decide what lay after that telling.

He gratefully accepted the offerings, letting the bit of mane that Kenan had offered, and mingling it with the blood that Aaliyah had offered. It was a much more dramatic one than he was accustomed to, but the giver decided what it was they wanted to offer. He merely let it decide where the giver went.

After seeing that the bits of mane were soaking up the blood, he then let the leaf drop onto the pile. The smell of the fire shifted for only a moment, and he watched the small, now constant flame lick at the leaves and hair, the blood burning up with it.

With a sigh, he wondered if he was Seeing bits of their past, or perhaps their future. He was unsure, but it was something that would remain unspoken, unmentioned. "Kenan and Aaliyah. It is obvious that your lives have been a series of trials. Within the Sky Clan is where you will find the peace I am certain you have been looking for. I welcome you to your new home."

Skan's eyes flickered with a touch of recognition when they landed on Tawi. Sure, it was polite to meet with everyone right before the beginning. Mostly so Skan could get a feel for the new strangers...something he wasn't always comfortable with. He revisited the stories his father had told him of their old lands...their true lands, really. With a sigh, he told himself to knock it off. He could worry about other things later.

Right now was seeing where Tawi would go.

With a nod to her, he let his eyes drop to the hairs that she offered him, gingerly putting them down on the embers. Thankfully the flame had died down, and the heat curled the hairs right up. With a soft smile, he glanced back up towards the brown lioness.

"Tawi. I'm sure you've seen it already, if not in the same way I have. You are to be with the Shadow Clan, as I think that is where your heart awaits you."

Skan had taken a moment to situate himself again, adding more herbs and grasses to the pile. He knew that the balance was important. He could only guess that he was doing well so far; Tawa'di hadn't stepped in and fixed anything. Yet.

Feeling a bit more comfortable, even if the new influx of smoke was taking a little time to fade away, he glanced up at the lion that was approaching him. A very large lion. Skan knew that the blood of the Ela'wadiyi ran small, but...this white and pink toned lion was massive. Firekin blood, perhaps? He remembered hearing about them, mostly, from other rogues that had joined their ranks.

"Ah," he breathed, feeling the smoke from the herbs pull him back to a more meditative state. He nodded at the large lion - and really, he remembered seeing him before, but Skan hadn't been lying down the last time - and took the strands of hair that had been from his mane. A trio of colours that was uncommon in these lands, and thus oddly fascinating for the wanidatsi. "Ready?" he breathed, a chuckle escaping his throat.

After watching how the hair reacted to the hair, Skan had panicked for a moment. It hadn't been a clear reading, until he watched how the smoke trailed upwards. Ah. So that was where it was meant to be.

"Mawey. Though you are very much grounded to the earth, it seems you are meant for the air above us. Go within the Bird Clan, and I will see you there later."

Skan was ready for the next lion, though he was feeling a touch more apprehensive. Hopefully the next reading wouldn't be as challenged as the last. He knew it was nearly impossible to miss a reading, but he didn't want to tempt fate into seeing what he would do if it had failed.

He faced the lion that approached him now, one with a deep, rich coloured coat, one almost like the lands that they resided on. More red than brown, when one got past the first top layer of earth.

"Inchi," he repeated. "The possessions I am interested in are the one's within your soul," he replied with a chuckle. Physical ones that were given up could lead just as well into the soul's intent, if cared for with love, but having a piece of the lion themselves made the reading easier, usually. He let the dark strands of hair drop into the pile, seeing a small flicker of flame as it lapped up the offering hungrily.

"You are to be within the Bird Clan, a place that best suits you and your new life here within our lands. On behalf of the pride as a whole, we welcome you," he said with a smile.

Everything was going smoothly. He nodded as the next one approached, shifting his weight a bit as he settled himself in again. He hadn't stretched yet, but part of being a wanidatsi involved things that could be uncomfortable. It was just part of the job, really. He would have a break once all the new lions were accepted, becoming part of the new strand of roots for the Ela'wadiyi.

The lion that approached seemed quite curious about the process, and presented his offering with confidence. At least from the outside, he seemed calm, collected, and ready to face his fate.

Dropping the claw within the small flame, it was an object that did not want to burn as cleanly as hair. Still, the heat pressed on, and slowly consumed the piece of Kiba that he had offered to the embers. Skan watched as the flame had died out, the colour of it shifting slightly. He added on a bit more herbs, keeping the heat going as he read what it said to him.

With a nod, he faced Kiba, eyes meeting. "Kiba. It is clear that you will become one with the Earth Clan, a place that awaits you and what you have to offer it."

He had to be an odd sight to see - Kiazi carried in his mouth, of all things, a YAM. Or at least, part of one. Though it wasn't really so much in his mouth, as in a piece of skin that carried it. For whatever reason, his mother had been fascinated enough by yams to name him 'potato', so the odd tuber had held a fascination for him. Now, he was offering it - To his mate's bemusement. Setting it down before the pride leader, he smiled cheerily. "Greetings... Um... I'm sorry, I managed to forget your name... So many to remember... I am Kiazi. Mother called me Tater, but.." He blinked as his mate nudged him. "Oh! Sorry. I bring as an offering a piece of a plant I've always found fascinating, like my mother did enough to name me after them. A yam!"

Uziwa'muundi rolled her eyes in bemusement, chuckling at Kiazi. Him and his yams... She set the shell she'd held onto, one of a small number she still kept from her seaside home, before Skan. "I am Uziwa'muundi, I offer to you one of my most precious shells, in hopes it will bring the calm of a moon-lit sea to all who live here." Settling back, she leaned on Kiazi. "And I come, quite happily, with this big fat potato." It was, of course, said with affection.

Aberash watch as each lion brought up an offering and their learned of their new home among the Ela'wadiyi. She patiently waited as it was going to be her turn to bring up her offering of fur from her mane and tail. Her blue eyes gazed on the other tattooed lion then back at Skan. She walked up calmly with bit of fur in her mouth. Setting them down gently in front of her, pushing them lightly towards Skan. "My name is known as Aberash. I bring this offering of my fur for I lived among the lands of rogues and outcasts. I wish to find peace among this place." She spoke clearly as her blue tail swished lightly behind her.

Cha'ari's muscles tensed as he watched the petals of his flower curl, the fragrant burning scent of it escaping into the air. His red eyes followed the tendrils of smoke, but snapped back to Skan's when he heard his name. He relaxed with a small sigh of relief that he hadn't been rejected. The Bird Clan, he thought with a hint of fondness. So this is my new home. He smiled widely, and glanced at Jamali with happiness. "I've made it!" he whispered, almost bouncing with a sudden surge of excitement.

"Yes," the serval answered softly with a gentle smile. "You don't have to run away anymore." Jamali looked up at his companion, then back around the ring of lions. We're finally home.

As others presented themselves to the wanidatsi, Nathifa watched with a focused mind and a steady breath. After moments of contemplation and silence, the lioness dropped her closed eyes to the ground, taking in a few last breaths before stepping forward. So this was it. This was the place that she felt tug at her being for so long. The lioness's tail brushed against the ground as she looked to the fire and the lion with consideration. With elegant determination, with a wishful dreaming look in her eye, the lioness nodded her head in a courteous bow of a greeting.

"I am Nathifa," she started, setting her violet eyes upon Skan. "So my heart tells me that this place is my home." At her words, she reached a claw up and snipped the two large feathers that hung at the front of her necklace. Material items they may be, but each of the feathers that adorned her body marked, to her, a journey that her heart and soul had taken, memories of a lifetime past. Though they were simply feathers, she had accepted them as a part of herself as much as anything else. With a brief, slight smile, she looked back to the wanidatsi as she presented the feathers to him. "I tend to trust that words of my heart," this was more than true. Nathifa had a history of trusting her speakings of her soul to points that had put her in near peril. It had come to a point where she doubted that she should truly trust herself… "So lets hope that they're right."

It seemed like she had been wandering for a long, long time. Pia did not miss the pride of her birth, but she did miss the feeling of companionship. It had been good to find Jiwekali, but like her new friend, she wanted more. A pride, and a home instead of just endless wandering. Other females to chat with. Males to chat with, even. Friends that she could greet every day without the worry that came with meeting a stranger.

As much as she hoped that this pride would be a good home for her, as she stepped forward to make her offering Pia could not help feeling nervous. Once she joined this pride, it would truly be the end of her old pride. She would likely never see her family again, never see her brother or cousin or her heap of nieces and nephews.

Pia firmed her resolve. She wouldn't, couldn't go back for them. Pia wanted a mate and cubs of her own, and she wouldn't raise them in a pride of warmongers. Besides, Jiwekali was here, the only male she had ever met to treat her as a true equal without requiring her to 'prove' herself by fighting. Feeling bolder now, the lioness plucked a whisker from her lip without a wince. She offered it to Skan Kanati, bowing her head respectfully. She would go to the clan he decreed, although she hoped fervently that she and Jiwekali would stay together.

Well. Skan wasn't really expecting anything strange to happen. That massive lion that had passed through onto the Bird Clan had been a little startling, but he wasn't really expecting to get much more exciting than that. Until the lion with the...yam showed up. He blinked at it, a little unsure of what he was supposed to do with it. He accepted the shell as well, knowing that neither of these offerings would burn like a normal one, but they would tell enough in the smoke that they produced to have a proper reading.

Nudging the two objects into the smoldering pile, it didn't seem to happy to have such strange fodder to feed the heat. Skan knew that flames would not crop up from this offering, and for that he was fine with. The bit of yam produced an odd scent, one that didn't really smell nice to Skan. Still, as the shell began to darken, he watches the patterns that the smoke made as it intertwined with itself.

"Though your offerings," Skan said with a slight pause, "Kiazi and Uziwa'muundi, you are both to live within the Shadow Clan on the lands claimed by the Ela'wadiyi. I bid you welcome."

With his one good eye, the earthy-hued lion watched this pride's Wandinasi.. their pride now. Yet as his mate stepped up beside him he dipped a shoulder, gently brushing his dark fur to her rich brown, a silent touch of reassurance. As he watched his offering being mixed with his mate's, he curled his tail against her hind leg, his pulse in his throat for the first time since he had discovered this hidden pride. This was the moment, this was when they finally found their home. Watching the smoke intently he wished he were free to pull Aaliyah close against him, but he kept himself stood still, muscular body pulled to his full height. The smell of burnt blood and singed hair reminded him painful of what they had lost, but somehow it seemed fitting that those very same scents heralded a new chapter in their lives, a new beginning where they could start a fresh and finally, hopefully, put the horrors of the past behind them.

Lifting his now good eye from the flame as the last of the offering burned away, he looked up at the Wandinasi, listening attentively before lowering his head in a deep bow. "Thank you Skan Kanati. We are grateful to you and the pride." His words though brief and bare of any frivolous elaboration, where honest and true. Turning to smile warmly at his mate he touched the warm tuft of her cheek with his nose. "We are home, Aaliyah..." Murmured softly.

Dipping his head briefly to Skan Kanati once again he turned and gently led his mate away from the male and the fire, guiding her through the gathered lions still awaiting their turn to the place all the accepted members now waited. Choosing a space a little to the side he smiled gently to Aaliyah as they settled to watch the rest of the preceding. "The Sky clan.. " He murmured thoughtfully before dropping his gaze and smiling softly at her.

Aaah. That last one had been a little different, and part of him hoped that it would go back to normal. Not to be rude, but...Skan wasn't one for unexpected surprises. He shuffled himself back into his spot, willing himself to relax and let his senses take more control than his mind.

A pretty lioness with a colourful tail approached, offering a mingle of hair from her head as well as her tail tuft. The coloured mingled together, and he dropped them onto the center of the pile, certainly eager for something easier to burn than the last offering. He repressed a smile, wondering just what the fire would be like if it could talk. Ah. There it was.

"Aberash. You indeed will find peace here, and it awaits you within the Earth Clan."

Skan accepted the polite bow that was offered to him by the grey and white lioness. He listened to her words, as not to many spoke before the reading was done, usually only after they knew where their life within the Ela'wadiyi would begin.

"It will be," he assured her as he took her offering. Items they may be, but they have seen much of Nathifa's life, and would not lie to him as the fire claimed them. He set them upon the heat, watching as they curled, the hissing of the fire's content consumption ringing in Skan's ears.

He glanced back up at Nathifa, only realizing that the sun had grown tired, and the sky around them began to darker. Had that many lions already passed before him? It seemed like a blur.

"Believe your heart, for it tells you to enter within the Shadow Clan, where weary paws may rest, and begin life anew."

Blessed Friend

Kaleth'matar stepped forward. It had been a strange trip for him, rather shorter than he'd thought but also more fraught with inner turmoil. It had been a blessing when he had stumbled across the pretty young female from the pride. Now here he was, ready to make this place his home.

He took a slow breath, though there was a notable lack of nervousness. This felt right, it felt... like home. He almost felt guilty that his birth-pride had not felt so to him, but that simply meant his life was meant to be elsewhere. Here. With careful precision, he tugged two strikingly white whiskers from his muzzle. His mother had always said that he and one of his brothers looked stunningly like their father, and his white muzzle was one of the features she commented on. Fitting that his minimal inheritance from his father should show him his place within his new pride. Revereantly he offered them.
