Pierce began to become thoroughly confused. He didn't necessarily like eggs but what about eggs scared these people so much? Maybe he had no idea what the guy was talking about... It wouldn't be the first time he had sorely mistaken what someone said. Pierce shook his head confusedly. What ever this egg thing was it sounded pretty serious. And slightly crazy, maybe this guy was a little less grounded than Pierce thought. However being such an impulsive and mischievous, he decided to take a different approach. "Hmm, I dunno if I'll be able to pay for such a nice place like this," Which of course was a complete lie, "I guess I'll go look into this MSP action that you mentioned." he said as sincerely as possible, "Thanks for the advice!"

Well it wasn't like if this didn't work out he would be out of options. Pierce was mostly just excited to get back out side and try to find this MSP place. Maybe even get "Lost" a couple times on the way there!

Mr. Kogg nodded in apology at Robyn. "Sorry, Miss Robyn." That was the best the girl could expect from the robot. He couldn't help it, really. Ness had been trying to work on a new program for him in her spare time, but she'd been so busy lately that she wasn't getting far.

That being stated, Janessa was vaguely aware that Mr. Kogg had disappeared and returned with a visitor. She was lost in the music and her work. Though, she did slightly notice when the volume of her stereo was turned down. She frowned a bit, continuing to hum, as she was putting the last few tiny pieces into their spots.

Ah, it was Robyn. She laughed a bit at the greeting the girl gave her, but her gaze didn't leave her work. "Hold on a minute....I'm almost finished..." She stated so that Robyn could hear her. She couldn't move her hands in greeting or look up. One more piece. Yay! It was in place. She was done with that part of the generator. She still had a bit left. "Hi, Robyn...How are you? And, what is it that you have for me?" She asked with a smile.

I cant stay on the ground (woah)
I cant get enough, I cant get enough
This is taking me now
Its taking me higher, higher
Higher off the ground
The musics got me going higher
I feel like I can touch the sky

Pierce took the key and card and waved to the guy "Cheers!" Then turned and half jogged out into the open city air. Pierce feeling unnaturally devious, sprinted to the sports car and Dash Vaulted over it, with precision that only comes through years of practice. A grin split Pierces face as he continued sprinting down the walk until he saw an alleyway up ahead on his right. Pierce changed his sprint to an angle and jumped into the alley at a wall-run onto a large dumpster. Pierce used a wall run again to effectively avoid a fence barring the rest the alley. He hit and skill rolled to break his fall, immediately running as soon as his feet hit. He seemed to be in some sort of private back alley owned by the hotel. It was dark in the alley, and looking up Pierce saw that the buildings were all connected overhead. Pierce slowed to a walk as he surveyed what little he could of this strange surrounding. He saw a four-way junction ahead and bright light in front of him, indicating that the block ended near there. He moved to the junction and looked both left and right, respectively. Left, he saw the alley ending with a fence blocking street view. Right, he didn't see anything, but he certainly heard something. He heard a man screaming. Pierce was used to living in a big city, he had seen muggings take place. This however was completely different.

The edge to the mans voice was terrifying, it was as if the devil himself were chasing him.

Suddenly gunshots rang out, brief flashes from the automatic weapons dimly lit the alley for moments. A man stumbled out of a three way junction turn. He tripped and fell into the wall opposite him. He yelled as he turned and held up his arms. Several brief flashes, and the mans body went limp in the stobe-like light. Pierce stood frozen. It stayed dark, suddenly three more flashes revealed two figures that must have exited from the same corridor of the alley. They were obviously mechanical. They held large assault rifles. Then the darkness once again overtook the alley. Three faint beeps reached Pierces ears. Then several shots whizzed by his right side. Pierce flinched, not knowing what to do. Then more shots came, and Pierce bolted straight ahead.

Pierce ran pellmell down the alley, he vaulted over the assorted bins and concrete landings that rose at random in front of him. More shots flew by him, he saw a fence ahead of him. There was no time, he leaped to the top grabbing the top with offset hands and performed a gate vault landing unsteadily to the ground. He burst into the pedestrians on the walk, losing balance and getting turned around. His unsteady momentum threw him to the street. He barely had time to look right to see the oncoming vehicle. He dove into crowd, narrowly avoiding the car and ignoring the angry people he had now run into twice.

Pierce looked up as the people yelled at him. He didn't hear them though. He was staring open mouthed at the fence separating him from that nightmarish encounter with those strange machines. He slowly pulled himself to his feet and wove through the mob and ran a couple blocks to a less trafficked area. He dropped to catch his breath. He had idea what to do. He had never been shot at before, what did one usually do when they were shot at? Get shot I suppose... Pierce pulled his pack forward and pulled out his Navi pad. He switched it on with out looking at it and waited for it to boot and pin point his location. No response. He observed it more closely, it seems that one of his unsteady falls had ended up with bashing the Navi Pad. He sighed and hit his head with his palm. He stood and turned around looking at the shop that he ended up in front of.

It look old-school compared to all the buildings he had seen in the city. He didn't have time to be picky though, he needed directions to somewhere he could replace his now damaged Navi Pad. He opened to door and stepped into the lobby area. No one was manning the front counter. He walked to the counter and found a service bell. He hit it and waited, resting his head in his shaking hands, leaning on the desk.

User Image"Uh, sure... bye," Daren replied as the kid bolted out the door. Robyn would have one heck of a time with this one. He seemed like a total spazz.. just the kind of person she'd hit it off with. But whatever. He had a job to work until later.

--

User Image"It's a wonder oven!" Robyn exclaimed, shoving the object in Ness' face with childish enthusiasm. "By implanting the perfect balance of radiation and filtering inside of this toaster oven, I can create a device that will bake my cupcakes in seconds! I just can't seem to get the radiation right. I tried it out once, but it exploded..." She trailed off with a sigh, taking a seat on the dusty floor, not even worrying about oil getting on her already stained work clothes. "I was thinking if I got it right I could start maiking it large scale and finally open my own shop... pff, like that's ever gonna happen."
She fiddled with one of the knobs when she heard a dinging upstairs.
"I'll get it!" she shouted, jogging over to the stairs and hitting the robot on the head again. "Need a break, big boy?" she teased, thinking that maybe she should go ahead and try making one of those on her own... not like she could steal enough supplied form the MSP arsenal as it was, but she knew she could find a way. It was either that or a boyfriend...
Robyn came up the stairs, the strands of her pink hair slowly waorking their way loose from her ponytail. The guy standing there had black hair and goggles... a Freerunner, that much was obvious. His hands were shaking and he was breathing heavily, like he had just been running. Go figure. But something was wrong; if there was one thing that Robyn was good at, then it was telling if someone needed a hand.
"Hey there," she said with a casual smile. "You look like you could use a hand. The name's Robyn, you looking for something?"

Pierce lifted his head to see a girl come in from the back. Robyn? Why did that sound so familiar? Pierce shook his head and smiled. "Hey, I was just wondering if you knew of a place where I could get a replacement for this." Pierce slid the Navi pad across the counter. "I, uh, seem to have broken mine." he supplied lamely. Pierce decided it was probably a better idea to get the Pad replaced before he investigated anything that had just occurred. In the meantime he could process the event... Maybe freerun some more...

The evening sun set slowly, painting the sky red-orange. Skye stood behind the bar, leaning against her guitar. Her voice was dry from singing for nearly three hours in a row. It cracked when she spoke.

Slinging her instrument over her shoulders, she headed towards home. There were gunshots in the distance. She listened for a moment and shrugged. Gunshots were common in this city; she never really thought much of them.

There was so much work to do tonight- nothing to important, just a bunch of nonsensical assignments her philosophy professor gave her. Skye wasn't interested in philosophy anyway. It was simply a requirement to graduate from the university. Apparently, it was important to learn the right way to think...or as she considered it, a bunch of BS.

There was an old building on the side of the road. It looked like a small shop. She stood outside wondering whether she should go in. Buildings like this were rare in this city.

Deciding that procrastinating another hour or whatever can't hurt, she headed in the door.

User Image"Yeah, no problem, dude." Robyn replied, casually taking the device from the kid. She looked at it, flipping it back and forth as she took note of its features.
How'd he manage to bash the screen? A fall? she wondered with a coy smile. Reaching into her back pocket, she pulled out a pair of pliers and wht looked like a miniature crowbar.
"Gimme a sec'," she said, prying open the back cover. She shook her head at its primitive technology. "This thing's gotta be about a thousand years old. Where'd ya get it? Earth or something?" she commented sarcastically. "We haven't had to deal with 2-dimensional imaging since the MSP Holographics Team came up with VirtReel3D. But Ness should at least still have a replacement for the screen..."
She bent down under the counter and began to go through Ness' equipment. Maybe Robyn would get lucky and there was something useful in the countless bins of knicknacks.
Using her laser-base glass cutter (very useful... of course Daren had objected to her buying one, but she didn't care), Robyn took a sheet of some kind of super plastic and, using the dimensions she was automatically able to process thanks to her knowlege of defunct technology, cut it to size and replaced the old screen with a twist of her wrist.
She tapped the screen and nothing happened. She sighed.
"Let's see if I can still do this..." she said quietly, thinking on her training at the MSP Academy. She turned back to the back of the device and began to fiddle with the wires.
"You don't look like you're from around here," she said as she worked, her fingers oblivious to the electric shocks she got, her fingers numb from years of getting accidentally electricuted.

Skye watched as the pink haired girl fiddled with some machine that the guy had shown her. " Another machine shop," she thought, disappointed. She was hoping that this shop would be different since it looked so old from the outside. Nevertheless, she was here already. Digging into her pocket, she produced her notebook. The screen had broken a few days ago and the holoprojector wasn't working anymore.

"Excuse me," she said politely. "After you're done, can you look at this also?"

"We haven't had to deal with 2-dimensional imaging since the MSP Holographics Team came up with VirtReel3D. He could have easily payed for a more "High-Tech" Piece of equipment, but 3D graphics he felt were overrated. If he was going to have something he would much rather have the real thing. Plus this particular model was known for its durability, something that Pierce definitely needed.

Pierce sighed as he finally regained composure from the recent sprint. He watched the girl work as easily with the piece of complex electronic parts as if she had done this her whole life... she probably had.
"Let's see if I can still do this..." That wasn't too inspiring. She seemed to know exactly where she was going with it though, so Pierce chose not to interject. "You don't look like you're from around here," She asked conversationally, which was surprising because of all the shocks and sparks that can from the board she was working with."Uhh I'm not actually," He said "I'm from New London. I'm spending a couple weeks here." He leaned on the counter watching intently at the spectacle in front of him. He never really was a good conversationalist. The door opened behind him, he flinched visibly. He turned but it was just a blond haired girl, not some sadistic robot with an assault rifle as he half expected.

User Image"New London, eh? Figured you were from down there..." Robyn replied as she jammed the last wire into place and the screen lit up.
"I did it~!" she said, handing it back to him. 'Hey, and don't worry about paying me or anything. Guy who can't even afford a proper Navi Pad is probably too broke to be able to afford anything anyways." She winked at him as another girl walked in. She noticed him jump and she got suspicious. First, he walks in all disheveled and out of breath, and now he's acting all twitchy...? Although she preferred he company of robots, Robyn knew enough about psychology to tell that that was definately not normal.
Robyn accepted the piece of technology with a smile. "Hey, no problem!" she answered, taking note fo the universtiy insignia on the back. "You're a Grad?" she asked.

From outside there was a muffled explosion.

It sounded like one explosion, but it really was four consecutive ones.
And the explosions weren't big, more like gunshots.
The crowds of people had already backed off nearest to the Shop if not farther away, no one except one person was on the street closest to the fenced off alley.
The breaching charges had done their job. The young man standing on the sidewalk wielding a shotgun watched as the fence slowly fell into the alley.
Checking the loading breach of the shotgun, by pulling the bottom slide back a bit he walked into the alley's darkness.

The seconds ticked by.
The bystanders on the other side seemed prepared to run away if they had to.
Suddenly the alley lit up with gunfire.
The rattle of Machine Gun fire from the robots created the most flashy scene.
They briefly illuminated the happenings of the center of the alley and one could see the man's work.

The Robots were in a state of confusion. They were tracking their target, trying to lead their aim to get him but he kept changing direction, or stopping, and ducking under their aim.
He seemed to enjoy it as the scene went on for a couple more seconds before the 'bots ran out of ammunition and had to reload.
Two "booms", one after the other echoed throughout the city. The large flashes coming from his weapon showed, at first, one destroyed robot flying back, and then the other.
Then the show was over. The crowd seemed to relax, then stiffen up again. The first thing to appear out of the darkness was one of the robots with its weapon in hand and pointing towards the people.

The crowd screamed in terror and tripped over each other to get away.
As soon as the streets were empty, the Robot let out a little chuckle before being dropped to the floor. The man shouldered all of the weapons on one shoulder, then picked up both Robot's and threw them over the same shoulder. As he walked across the street towards the shop he reached into his jacket for a radio. Just like one of those handheld attachments one would see in an old cops and robbers flick.
He pressed the button as he looked both ways on the street before crossing. "Unit 2 to command. We have a murder situation involving Eggs near the Sutherland Robotics Shop. Will lay down a police line at the entrance of the scene. Both Eggs have been totally destroyed via self-destruct along with their weapons."
That last part was a lie. He usually tried to keep the Eggs intact as best as possible before donating them to Daren or Robyn.
Everyone knew it. But the lie was a cover for the records that were always kept on file with communications, so that he wasn't blamed if someone got killed as a result of his negligence to keep evidence.
Not like there would be any if he hadn't shot the 'Bots in the right spots.

Re-clipping the Radio mic to the inside of his jacket he unholstered what looked to be a Barcode scanner from his belt and stopped in the middle of the empty road to line the alley entrance with electronic Police Crime Scene tape that criss crossed up to the rooftops of the buildings adjacent to the alley.
Why? Because the last time something like this happened, some local Parkour Punk went ahead and jumped all over their crime scene, kicking the dead bodies thinking they were asleep then tracking blood and mud outside the area.

When he was done he holstered the scanner and turned back to his destination.
He popped his head into the Sutherland shop and stared at the two customers and Robyn as he glanced around. "You guys okay in here?" He asked, giving a "charming" wink to Skye and Robyn.
