Kiokote Name: Never Grow Up Gender of Kiokote: Male Personality Keywords: Playful, Restless, Cowardly Character Concept: True to his name, Never Grow Up is as playful and adventurous now as he was as a colt. When the Ache hit, he and his closest companion – a doe – decided to follow the calling and venture out to discover the Swamp and its strange creatures. However, believing it was a wild goose chase and concerned about the dangers, the tribal council forbade Baby and his friend to ever go searching for the Swamp. Time passed, the depression grew worse, and one day, he found his friend sprawled across the ground, pale, cold, and oozing blood from a self-inflicted wound. Stricken with grief and fear, he ran away from her, from confrontation, from growing up. And before he realised where he was going, he was running away in search of the fabled Swamp.
Back home, Baby lived in a fairly large tribe. He was not the stallion of his family, far from it. In fact, the only reason (or so he thinks) he was in the tribe was because he had been born into it and never left. He might have been sure-footed and swift, but he was deemed too immature to be a leader. Fortunately for him, because he grew up with them, the other Kiokote – although constantly chagrined by his antics – loved him dearly. (They did indeed baby him and it was one of the mares in the tribe who gave him his nickname.)

Kiokote Name: Shadow Dancer Gender of Kiokote: My concept works either male or female, so I don't mind it being either or. xDD [I think I went with the pronoun he in the entry, though, just 'cause it was easier than 'it' all the time.] Personality Keywords: Quiet, manipulative, curious Character Concept: Shadow Dancer is one of those quiet kiokotes you find in the background, subtly influencing what is happening from the shadows. He prefers to get others to do things his way, or the way he feels is best, without straight up telling them what to do. Kind of like...planting the idea in their heads and then they take off with it so that they feel it was their idea to begin with. Shadow Dancer does not have a loud voice, but when he does speak it is with a quiet, reserved and deep tone that generally gets people to listen anyway. He speaks with the voice of a born leader, but does not like to lead in an obvious manner.
He is exceptionally curious and as such when the Ache came to him, he immediately followed after it on an impulse. Shadow Dancer is curious to see exactly what this Ache is and why it exists - his goal is to find some answers and see what is so great about this Swamp.
Shadow Dancer's family is small, and though he hunted in a group and ran with his herd as any proper kiokote should, he preferred to be alone. Doing this his way, in his own time, as he pleased. As such he has very few relationships and they are distant ones at best at that. He's viewed as sort of a prodigal son to be, the family hopes he will return and be better from his time in the Swamp, but they aren't allowing their hopes to be too high. They have mostly given up on Shadow Dancer following the kiokote way to a T, instead making his own path within the kiokote way.

Kiokote Name: Call of Thunder Gender of Kiokote: Male Personality Keywords: Fierce, protective, patient Character Concept: Thunder is an older buck whose been around the bend a few times. He was a hotshot when he was younger, brazen and loud as the crescendo of a storm. However, with age and experience, he's been gentled up a little, at least to the point where he knows his priorities and what's important to him. He manages his own harem of does, all ranging in age, and serves as their protector as well as (in some instances) a mentor. Thunder may not be as quick or as energetic as he once was, but he's held his own against other suitors for years past what's been considered his 'prime'. He is largely a realist, and knows some day he will have to give his girls away, but it's going to be on his terms, dammit.
Some of his younger females caught the Ache. Instead of letting them wander off on their own, Thunder uprooted his whole clan and took them into the migration. He feels they'll be safer with him to guide them through the swamp, rather than just letting them trounce around.
