She'd given birth to five pups so far, only this last one, seemingly the smallest one was breathing. She'd taken her first breaths surrounded by her dead sisters, not that she knew of this. Her mother was exhausted by the time the sun began to rise, she'd been straining ever since giving birth to Geulah but the pup was stuck, and she was losing a lot of blood internally. A large male Coyote, drawn by the scent of blood investigated and had grinned, Overlord laughed at the female, at the dead surrounding her before noting that one, small pup was squeaking away and a plan formed in his mind. Tearing the throat out of the suffering female he snatched the single live pup up in his jaws, not gently but not causing harm either, taking it back to his mate who had given birth to his own young just days earlier.
As soon as her eyes were open, her first sight was of the male Coyote, having heard the voices of the other coyote young and the female for so long, having this male looming over her and talking in his dark voice was scary, she learnt very early on that he took a special interest in her and she, not knowing she was wolf and not some freak of a coyote obeyed him. He was quick to teach her that she was lesser even to her 'brothers and sisters' of the very small pack he ran, consisting of his mate, their offspring, his brother and HIS mate, their half grown pups an one or two straggling low ranking unrelated members that were obviously worse for wear. Geulah began to grow, quickly getting bigger than her 'littermates' but just as quickly she learned that she would get nothing if she didn't obey his every word. She grew into little more than a slave to the Coyotes, doing their bidding, if she didn't she would get bitten and held down, Overlord's teeth at her throat, reminding her that without him she would be nothing.
This was all she knew until she reached adolescence, it was then Overlord began teaching her new things, teaching her how to kill. It was then that he began to use her for darker deeds, by now obeying him was an instinct, she wouldn't even consider denying him anything he told her to do. Slowly but surely she was trained to be his assassin, teaching her to be silent, even more so than he. Soon she was little more than a killer for him. Overlord however began acting oddly, seeing threats where there were none, sending Geulah out more and more often to ... deal .. with his 'enemies'. It got so bad that one day he ordered her to murder his brother and his mate. She'd done so without question, as always but something in her heart was different, every other time she'd killed on Overlord's order, she'd felt nothing for the victim but Overlord's brother... had almost been kind to her.
Shortly after this she was sent out yet again but on her way she bumped into a wolf that was larger even than herself, at first she was defensive and bared her teeth but the wolf was silent, his eyes hard and judging, as if he knew what she had done, then he spoke and she felt as if the very earth rumbled with his voice. He spoke of many things, some that made her heart heavy and other things that made her feel sick with what she had been done, it was then that he told her who he was, who she was and Geulah knew what she must do, that talk, with that wolf opened her eyes to the world, to see beyond what she'd been taught to believe. She returned to Overlord's pack. She was shocked when she returned, her 'littermates' dead at Overlord's feet. He turned to see the look on Geulah's face and told her flatly and scarily calmly that they'd been plotting against him, that they'd planned to kill him and take over. Geulah hid her shock quickly and nodded, feigning obedience once more. Since then Overlord kept Geulah close and it opened her eyes to him truly.
Some nights later the time had come to deal with him, he'd told her that she should kill his mate by this point, that she hadn't had more pups with him because she was killing them all, to prevent him from having a son to carry on after him. She knew then that he was never going to be satisfied, that he would see corruption everywhere except within himself. She took it upon herself to kill him, she fell upon him and after a very short fight, he lay dead at her paws.
She now wanders lone, bearing the pelt of Overlord upon her back, she rid herself of the name he had called her by and is known only as Geulah. She sings of loss, of pain but also of strength and love and respect. She heard of the legend of the white wolf, the great ghost Koi, as she travelled through packs and she became determined in her own quest. She now lives to teach others of the respect one creature should have for another, that even when you kill a creature for food, you must always treat it with the respect it deserves. She sings for the souls of the departed, if you lose a loved one and hear an unfamiliar song when you grieve, it is likely Geulah, doing what she can to help the the souls be at peace in the next world. Someday she knows she will likely encounter Koi again and she is slightly nervous of a reunion, not knowing whether he would approve of her path but knowing she would face him anyway, despite the fact her paws would tremble in the face of any judgement he passed on her.
PersonalityShe is not a wolf that shows her emotions at all, she rarely shows anger except when confronted with needless death, this is also when she shows sadness as well. She will howl for the souls of the dead, hoping that it brings them peace in the next world. She isn't afraid of much as she is very large for a female wolf, she is larger than many adult males in their prime. She will visit packs and sing her songs of respect and wonder of all creatures, then leave silently once the song is over and often unnoticed by most members. She hopes her songs stay with the packs she comes across and that they learn from them. She isn't as mute as her father, she will tell a wolf what she thinks of them freely, whether or not it hurts for them to hear it or not, however, she doesn't give snap judgements unless they have killed something just for the fun of it. She will watch a pack or an individual wolf for at least a few days beforehand. She's very good at covering her tracks and signs that she was ever there.
