♬ The Melodic Reaper ♬  Maxine was finally on her way home. Despite the fact she could never get hurt or sick or anything like that, she felt tired. It was probably due to the fact that she had to collect two souls that day. Double Duty. No big deal, really, but it was a bit annoying.
The first was of an old man. He was easy enough to find. The address that she had been given was of a nursing home. A few lies were told, and she was able to locate the unfortunate soul. She gave him a comforting pat on the shoulder while he was playing bingo. A few moments later, as she was leaving, he choked on a peanut due to his excitement over getting a bingo.
The next, well, that was a bit trickier. Organ transplant gone wrong, or so she came to find out. The hospital was frustrating, mainly because you had to be family of the person in order to find out anything. Eventually, she managed to spot the name on her sticky note. Only thing was, it wasn't a patient, no, it was a doctor. Apparently those defibrillator's are quite deadly in the hands of an intern.
With her task's accomplished, she headed to a Chinese restaurant and got herself a few eggrolls to go. Four, to be exact, along with plenty of the mustard packets. With her supper in hand, she headed the rest of the way 'home' to the club. Maybe some other Reaper's would be around. Either way, she'd enjoy her yummy eggrolls.

000000000000000000000 H A S S A N --- S A N --- H A S S YHassan could smell it.... Egg rolls... Someone had egg rolls and he wanted in. The man made his was into the front hall to see Max... Not awesome, she wasn't in love with him... This would be trickier then he thought. The Arabic speaking loon approached the girl a pleasant smile gracing his face.
"Maxine, darling... you looked gorgeous this afternoon... What's that I smell though? In your hand? Is that... EggRolls? Hmm?"
He sniffed loudly, making his nose crinkle up a little. e liked food, any kind of food, lately fired foods had been at the top of his list though. The poor guy did this stupid thing where he tried not eating for a few months in protest... turns out they can do that... but now he seemed to always be super hungery to make up for the lost nutrients I guess?.
"How'd it go kid?"
He didn't really care, jobs no longer held any importance to him, people died all the time, no one was the special or different. To some of the younger reapers it still held meaning though. He had done a job that morning, some old woman, no big deal. Everything went smoothly. ♬ The Melodic Reaper ♬ Maxine had barely made her way through the door when Hassan had showed up. Not that she hadn't expected it. He seemed to be quite a food hound lately.She raised an eyebrow at his comment. Really? Like it wasn't obvious. He wanted some of her food. Well, she wasn't going to give an eggroll up that easily, if at all.
"Yes, Hassan....I have egg rolls. Flattery won't get you any...." She stated simply with a smirk. Maxi made her way towards the kitchen. She hadn't bought herself anything to drink, already having a stash of Sobe drinks at the house. Maxi walked over to the fridge, opening it and pulling out a citrus flavored Sobe. She had no doubt that Hassan had followed her.
"Eh, it went alright...nuff said...." She replied quickly before opening the bag her egg rolls were in and pulling one out along with a mustard packet. Before eating, she pulled herself up to sit on the counter. Maxi then opened the mustard packet and put some on the egg roll before taking a bite. "Mmmmm" She hadn't realized how hungry she had been until that first bite. Dang it! She should have gotten some egg drop soup as well. Ah, no matter, she would get some tomorrow.

The Quiet Reaper  ❝Ⱥlexander Ɉackson Ҏaxton❞ ☠Alex was laying out on the couch, reading one of his many books. He'd already taken care of the souls he'd had to collect that day and was relaxing now. He heard voices coming from the kitchen. He sighed, ignoring the voices and returning to his book. The smell of eggrolls drifted from the kitchen, which explained the fuss. He knew the two voices were Maxi and Hassan. Maxi must have gotten some eggrolls and Hassan seemed to want some.
After he finished the chapter he was on, he slid the bookmark into place and closed the book. He got up and walked into the kitchen, book still in his hand. "Glad to see you made it back alright, Maxi," he said casually as he walked to the fridge. He opened it and pulled out his bottle of Coke. He normally drank water or some kind of juice, but he'd recently been craving a Coke. He put the book on the counter before twisting the cap off and taking a drink.☠ ☆═━┈┈━═☆ Some words are better left unsaid. Some things are better left undone. ♬ The Melodic Reaper ♬ Maxine had finished about half of one before opening her Sobe. She took a drink and it helped to take the sting from the mustard away. Sure, it was a bit spicy, but it was good. She continued on eating as if Hassan wasn't there. Yeah, it was a bit mean, but she wasn't quite ready to give up one yet.
Not that long after her first egg roll was gone, Alex made his way into the kitchen. She watched as he sat a book on the counter while he got himself a drink. Maxi couldn't help but lean over to check out the title. Unfortunately, the book was too far away for her to make out the print. "Thanks, Alex....Not that you'd be able to tell if I had had a little incident today. Our quick healing abilities help with that..." She stated with a small smile.
She turned and took another egg roll out of the bag and handed it to Hassan. "There, now you can quit drooling over my food...." She stated with a smirk. He asked her for food because he knew that most of the time she would cave. Eh, oh well. "Hey, Alex, you want an egg roll?" She asked, taking another one out. "Oh, by the way, whatcha readin?"
Maxi was always up for a good read. Music may be one of her most favorite things, but books were a close second. Therefore, she was interested in hearing about new books, hoping they could spark her interest.

The Quiet Reaper ❝Ⱥlexander Ɉackson Ҏaxton❞ ☠Alex set his bottle on the counter. "That's true, but even still," he said, smiling a bit. He watched as she handed Hassan an eggroll, then offered him one. He waved it away. "No thanks. I'm good," he said. "I was actually thinking about going out and getting some pizza," he said.
When she asked what book he was reading, he smiled. "It's this new book. It's called A Wise Man's Fear," he said. Ester hated these kinds of jobs... She was in a children ward of the hospital... That normally meant she was taking the life of a child... And today it looked like it was just another of the same. The sticky note said R. Byron. The chart to the room across the hall was marked Byron... Here we go. Inside the blond could see a little boy sleeping, he had a thick head of curly brown hair and gray pale skin. The girl stepped into the room and heard the beeping of the machines he was hooked up to. His name was Rodger... It said so on a card on his bedside table. The boy looked to be about seven or eight years old. But a young seven... He seemed to be rather sick, but his family must care for him deeply, a woman sat in a chair beside the bed, sleeping.
With a silent movement, Ester reached out to brush the boy's face with her finger tips. she got his soul and as she walked out of the room the machines started to wale. Ten minutes later, out in the hall... Our protagonist was standing beside the boy, he looked brighter then he had minutes ago, he reached up to take Es's hand and she held his little hand, they walked down the hall and outside in silence. There was a doorway of light beside a tree and the boy ran towards it leaving Ester alone and as soon as the boy was though the door it vanished. The girl sighed and made her way home.
The mansion was huge and ridiculous... and Ester was starving. She stepped though the front door and immediately smelled take out, or something. But, she knew it was not for her, she would get something out of the fridge and eat it cold... There had to be pizza.
The kitchen was where Ester found Hass, Max and Alex. Max had the take out, Alex had a book and Hass was holding a lone egg roll.
"Good afternoon gang."
Es smirked and found her way to the fridge taking out a slice of pizza for herself. Sure it was cold but she liked it.

Hassan tool the egg roll and it immediately was shoved directly into his mouth, whole. after a few seconds of chewing he swallowed and followed the girl into the kitchen, he needed water or something to wash down the tasty fried treat.
"Where did you get those? They are delicious."
The man glanced at the remaining Egg rolls then got himself a drink of water. He chugged the cup and put it down on the counter for later use. When Alex turned down his egg roll Hass looked to Maxi with big hopeful eyes.
"If you're not going to want that one, I 'll eat it Max."
He was shameless the scamp. San forced himself to keep from laughing, but he was hungry and it was a very delicious roll of fried goodness. ♬ The Melodic Reaper ♬ Maxine rolled her eyes and handed another egg roll to Hassan. "You owe me...." She said simply. She pulled out the last one and added mustard to it before taking a bite. Maxi shrugged when he asked her where she got them. "Eh, some little place on the way home from the hospital....I wasn't really paying attention to the name..." She stated simply. No, she was focusing more on the song that had been playing through her ipod.
"Hey, Ester...." Maxi said with a smile. Ester was the newest to Reaping, therefore reaping tended to bug her a bit more than the others. Maxi raised a curious eyebrow as the girl pulled out a cold piece of pizza from the fridge and bit into it. "You know, Alex...Since half my food is gone...Would you mind if I joined you in getting pizza?" She asked curiously.
Ah, she looked at the book when it was held up. "Hmm...Looks interesting....Let me know if it's any good.." she added with a smile. With her last egg roll gone, she hopped off the counter and threw her trash away. Agh, her hair was bugging her, like it did from time to time. Quickly, she pulled it up into a ponytail, secured by the band that had been around her wrist. "So, anything interesting happen today?"

The Quiet Reaper ❝Ⱥlexander Ɉackson Ҏaxton❞ ☠Alex watched as Hassan took the eggroll Maxi had offered him. He looked at Ester when she came in and grabbed a slice of cold pizza from the fridge. He put the book back on the counter and smiled at Ester. "Hello Den," he said. "I'm sure warming that up might make it taste better," he said.
He glanced at Maxi when she asked if she could join him. He smiled. "I don't see why not," he said. Now that he was going to have company, maybe they'd go somewhere else to eat. "Let me know when you're ready to leave," he said. He grabbed his book and soda and walked out of the room. He wasn't really the social type of person. He didn't mind company, he just didn't want too much of it. He made his way to his room and laid down on his bed. He switched on the lamp on his bedside table and opened the book to where he'd left off.☠ ☆═━┈┈━═☆ Some words are better left unsaid. Some things are better left undone. ♬ The Melodic Reaper ♬ Maxine shrugged. The girl was as ready as she'd ever be. After all, she had practically just gotten back to their home. Not like she'd taken her shoes off to relax. Well, he was gone now, so she really couldn't tell him that. "See you guys..." She stated with a smile, giving a glance at both Ester and Hassan. Now, off to find Alex.
That task shouldn't be too hard. He usually hung out in his room with some book or another. So, she made her way out of the kitchen and upstairs. All of their bedrooms were in the same general area. Before stopping by Alex's room, she stopped by her own and grabbed a light jacket. Spring might be coming, but it still got a bit chilly at night. She shrugged into the jacket before heading further down the hall and knocking on Alex's door.
"Hey, Alex....I'm ready, dude....Let's go get some food!" She stated in a cheerful tone as she waited for him to answer the door so they could leave. At least she had had those egg rolls to hold her over, her stomach still felt a bit empty. Maybe they'd walk to a restaurant. After all, that's how Maxi usually got around. It wasn't like she really got tired, being a reaper prevented that.

The Quiet Reaper ❝Ⱥlexander Ɉackson Ҏaxton❞ ☠Alex finished the page he was on before sliding the bookmark back into place. He left the book on his pillow and his soda on the bedside table and walked over to the door, grabbing his wallet on the way and sliding it into his back pocket. He opened the door and stepped out, pulling it closed behind him. His hands felt empty without a book in them, but he tried to ignore the feeling.
He smiled at Maxi and offered her his arm, like a gentleman would do. "Shall we?" he asked. He tended to be polite whenever the opportunity rose. He didn't think she'd take his arm, since he was half-joking, but was curious whether she would.☠ ☆═━┈┈━═☆ Some words are better left unsaid. Some things are better left undone.
