"It could be worse," Alessa said with a smile, though obviously she didn't believe Ren disliked having Rhys around, for all he might say. "You could have six of them." That was her current situation. Not that she minded, for the most part. Sometimes they caused trouble, but...that didn't stop her from caring about them. But then, she had a nasty habit of just caring about anything remotely rabbit like, so sometimes she wondered if what she did was remotely normal. "And...carrot tops aren't so bad."
"It was nothing, I'm just glad we found him," Alessa assured him, finally pushing herself to stand. She brushed off her skirt and readjusted the her bag along her shoulder She didn't seem to notice the bits in the hair, though. Oh well, what she couldn't see wouldn't hurt her. She looked at Rhys and hoped he saw her smile as friendly, "Now, Rhys, if there ever aren't carrots here or in your room, you can always come to mine. Just don't make Ren worry, okay?"
She then passed Ren a glance again, looking rather bashful again. "Well, maybe you should...keep it in mind for the future. It was a very sweet thing to say."

Ren gave a mock shudder, tugging lightly on one of Rhys' long ears. The lepus gave a sniff, still munching on his carrot. "I don't think I could handle six," he answered with a laugh. "Jack knows just having one is enough."
Alessa was standing now, looking down at him with a gentle smile. The sunlight was making her curly auburn hair look a tumbling reddish gold, and Ren found himself looking at her for a moment longer than he normally would have.
She's pretty, he thought to himself, tilting his head and then with a smile of his own, he pushed up into a sitting position, a very irate Rhys letting out an indignant squawk at being disrupted from his meal, tumbling into Ren's lap.
"You hear that, mischief maker?" Ren said to him, giving a nod in Alessa's direction. "Anytime you want some carrots, tell me, and I'll take you to this lovely lady's room here."
Rhys grunted, but looked relatively pleased. Ren shook his head, and then stood carefully, keeping the lepus cradled in his arms as he glanced over at the nagual.
"Looks like I'm in your debt here," he said, and swept into an overly extravagant bow, straightening and giving her a quick, mock salute. "Many thanks to you, kind lady, for helping me in my hour of need. I'll keep your offer in mind."
Stepping past her, moving back towards the school, Ren half turned to look back at Alessa, putting one finger playfully to his lips. "And it's only sweet if you accept what I'm saying as true," he said, then added, somewhat cheekily, "Besides, what can I say? Sweets for the sweet."
Flashing a quick grin, Ren tossed a wink at Alessa. "Til next time, pretty lady," he said before turning around, making his way back towards the school.
