Stop feeding her ego, her head is big enough as it is already.

Yesterday the mail man came by with a few boxes. One of them contains Dust Tactics. ninja

That's not a bad idea. A great idea even. It will save us the hassle of going through Gaia, which was our first option because of the dice system.

In the mean time I've started work on painting my three Medium Panzer Walkers, whom for the time being will represent one of each pattern available: Luther, Ludwig and Lothar.

My two Medium Combat Walkers, Hot Dog and Pounder are as good as done save for some minor weathering and sealing. WIP shots can be found here.

Got my package from Maelstrom Games today, at this rate I might see my other orders before the end of the month! xp

Reinforcing the Dust Tactics boxed set is another German Kampfläufer and an Allied MCW. The Allied set contains two turrets: one for the Steel Rain variant (Petard mortar and for 4.2" rockets) and a regular turret with napalm tank sadly glued to the rear. It also contains four unit cards, the barrels for both the Hot Dog and Pounder and a "loaded" token for the Steel Rain mortar.

What do the new bot variants bring?

The Mickey variant has a 75mm howitzer that does wonders against infantry (two hits per model) but only slight damage against robots. It's also fast, has self-repair and can jump like its brothers.

Steel Rain has a massive rocket rack attached to the turret roof with four 4.2" rockets that can be fired with devastating effect depending on the amount of rockets fired. The rockets are single-shot weapons though, so to back it up it also has a Petard mortar that can one-shot any infantry or robot type in one shot, regardless of type or size. Only downsides are that it cannot jump over obstacles and it needs to spend an action to reload its mortar after firing.

Guess which variant will be seeing a lot of use when Operation Cyclone finally arrives? ninja

It's like a Calliope rocket tank walker?

More like a walking Hawker Tempest judging from the size of the four rockets it has attached to its turret.

Can I have the stats on both Steel Rain and Lothar please?

Leaked from the FFG site, here are the unit cards for the Axis Gorillas and the Grim Reapers, whom are both to be released some time this Summer alongside Operation Seelöwe. Both are Type 3 infantry, making them exceptionally hard to kill.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Melee fighters that are both fast and capable of tearing just about anything apart with their special gloves.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Movement 2 (!) paired with the Jump ability, two Victory MG's and a lethal close combat attack that can put a dent into just about anything.

Operation Cyclone dropped by yesterday along with a German command squad. So far it's looking good. The Cyclone box is big but mostly its filler and map tiles that make up most of the bulk. The minis are okay, Rosie doesn't sport hipster glasses, though she does give you the finger for some reason! The included tiles are nice enough, six of the snow / interior variant and three that make up Allied landing craft and a massive three tile long U-boat, allowing for both invasion and special ops styled games.

The command squad is okay, mostly made up of copies from other squads with some head swaps, game wise they are a good tool, but not as overpowered as some like to think. They are a good unit in cooperation with an artillery unit that's ready to fire.

Got my decals and source book yesterday. Decals are well worth ordering, they are great quality and of a nice size. The source book.. don't, just don't. It's full of typos, poorly formed sentences and bad spelling. Plus it's more an art book with a wee bit of background and a lot of pin up art. You like girls in uniforms with big titties and pictures of soldiers with big guns and swastikas? You'll like this one, but I'd say pass.

Having read the scans the background story can be summed up as: Alien crash lands on earth millennia ago and is recovered by the Nazis during the early years of WWII. They revive it and in gratitude it shares with the Nazis VK technology with which they can make suits of power armour, walkers and other miracle devices. The Nazis share this with the Japanese, who halt the advancing American armies and invade Australia. The Allies raid the castle in 1945 and steal the technology, which they not only share with the Sino-Soviet Union, but also quickly master through rapid prototyping and rush production.

In the 1950's the war has ground to a halt and is now the new Cold War.

Okay. confused
