Barth yipped and shook his claw half-heartedly. The little b*****d had gotten him right between his thumb and index finger, and had a solid grip.
"Could you err, ah, ick! A little help?" Barth writhed and tried to pry it off with the other hand. He still did not get up, as though the couch had trapped him too. He wished he could say his minipets turning on him was a rare occurrence, but at this point, it was pretty standard.

Lilith frowned a little at the situation between her sloth and her jox. They had been getting along so well too, but then one had to go and die and come back with a taste for the other. She put her arms out to the undead follyjox and called, "Release. Come," and almost immediately the zombiejox released its grip on Bartholomew and trotted across the couch and plopped beside its master: Lilith. She put her hand down on top of the zombiejox's head and it seemed to purr as she petted it.
The necromancer smiled, and gave Bartholomew a pat on his head as well as she whispered, "It would be lovely if you would apologize so the two of you could make up."

Barth took his hand back, shook it out, then sucked on the bitten bit. The follyjox looked back at him from Lilith's lap. He could almost swear it was being smug.
"Mmm hmm-mmph," he said, pathetically.

Lilith watched the demon suck on his bitten hand, feeling a little bad that her follyjox had bitten him but when she was reminded of just what consequences her little pet had suffered she smiled at Bartholomew. He almost looked jealous, and that only made the reaper's smile soften. She was satisfied and she gave the follyjox a couple strokes on his head while she said, "Now that wasn't hard, now was it?"
He had done a good thing by apologizing, and the reaper wanted to reward him. She moved the follyjox and softly leaned in to kiss the sloth demon on the cheek before whispering into his ear, "Thank you for looking after him. Maybe next time you can look after me instead."

Barth brightened at the kiss, sporting a lopsided smile.
"I think," he said, "given another chance, I could do a much better job at it?" Strangely, he might. When they had met, he had been on his own, sleeping and half-rotting in an apartment with a few demon friends whose calls he never returned. But he had arranged a Contract since then, and used the course of his Christmas trip to forge some important connections.
The apartment, mostly clean and with a few inventions (like the door-opener) already up and running, was evidence of that. And he'd hardly done anything at all.
But there was more to the question than follyjoxes.

Lilith thought he looked so cute with that smile, absolutely adorable. It would be her secret though, and she found herself listening to the demon with a bit of a smile. He seemed to be suggesting something that was definitely in Lilith's interest and slowly she found herself nodding her head to him.
"Oh, most definitely." She said. "Do you want another chance?"

He could handle it this time. He had a servant. And there was more where that came from. An entire school's worth. There would be no slacking. Well, no, there would still be plenty of slacking. And he'd be able to give Lilith would get what she wanted.

Very definitely was it? Lilith smirked at the idea. That was certainly a new way to lay for sloth demon. It seemed in the time she had been gone he had done something, if you could believe it. She doubted what he had done was much for work, but he had done something. Perhaps many somethings, slowly but surely like a turtle making its way across the beach.
"Hm..." she said, scooting a little closer to the demon. The zombiejox seemed to growl at him, but silenced when Lilith put her hand on it.
"Tell me, what of those messages I found on your door?"
There seemed to be a hint of amusement lingering on her lips as she looked at him expecting her answer.

There was, admittedly, a lot of very clearly girly handwriting on his door. Most of it suggestive.
"You know, I'm not entirely sure either. I don't think it's possible to make out with Alwine. Technically. Err....maybe that's the joke?"
He assumed his best truly baffled expression.

Lilith did not know who this Alwine was but she already didn't like her. She imagined someone with a head, which made the whole ordeal worse. A kissable head. She wasn't sure if her not having a head would make a difference but Lilith hadn't been gone very long and he already had woman flocking to his door and writing things Lilith deemed unacceptable behaviour for young women other than herself towards Bartholomew.
"Not possible?" She merely questioned, not seeming overly interested even though she was quite interested.
