A cruel smirk graced Baku's maw. "Yes, this will certainly be an adventure you will never forget." He spread his wings a bit. "It'll be a wonderful growing experience for you."

In the inside Baku was cackling insanely. To think he would be sending this naive child to her fate as a slave to the most ruthless of prides. It was too amusing and thrilling! He loved his little pawn and had made the decision to find a few more to add to his chess board. Besides, being immortal could be such a bore so he had to amuse himself one way or another.

Kiburi hummed cheerfully as she trotted alongside Baku, the bounce had returned to her step as she thought of all the great adventures she could have. She was impatient to get to this realm of sand and wanted to walk faster, however she knew she wouldn't have the stamina to last the whole way.

"Will we meet again someday?" She asked of Baku once more, "I like your company Master Baku and it'd be good to see you every now and then. I mean...we are...friends, aren't we?" She glanced at him shyly.

Baku eyed Kib and didn't say anything for a few moments as he put together his reply to her rather blunt questions. The last thing he wanted to do was make any promises. This journey was just to get his plan in full swing. After she was taken to the pride lands he simply just wanted to sit back and enjoy the pure torture and pain that the little lioness would be going through.

"It's...possible that we will meet again." He paused wondering if he should address her next question but decided silence would be good enough. He didn't outright say they weren't friends so maybe the naive little thing would just assume so.

Kiburi seemed content with the God's reply to her questions, as far as she was concerned they could be nothing but friends. Just think! She Kiburi - a simple lionness from the Pridelands - had befriended a noble and majestic God!

No one would believe her that was for sure.

With a swish of her tufted tail she released a humming purr from her throat, content to walk beside him and listen to the jingle of the rings in his dark pinions.

Everything was perfect.

Baku continued to lead the way to the Firekin lands. At one point he noticed Kib twitching her ears in obvious discomfort. With a roll of his eyes and a silent sigh heextended a wing over her to shade her head. The last thing he needed was Kib getting burnt into obvious discomfort and abandoning the trek across the sands. There will not be any shade there for her so might as well prolong the burning so she will travel the rolling dunes of sand longer. If need be he'd gladly lead a pride member right to her, but it would be more amusing if he took no part in her becoming an actual slave.

The sun reached it's peak in the sky and slowly began descending from it's throne towards the far horizon. Baku made sure to tilt his wing accordingly for the Pridelander but once the heat of the day had diminished and the sky was beginning to change to a brillant crimson and pink hue he folded his wing back against his side.

It wouldn't be too much longer.

She felt her heart beat faster in her chest as Baku adjusted his wing to make her more comfortable and gave a loud purr of appreciation. He really was a kindly God lion.

She watched the skies change in colour, eyes taking in the strange scenery and drinking up the beauty. It was such a perfect place and she loved every minute of it.

"The world is a pretty place. I envy your ability to view it from the sky Master Baku." She sighed dreamily, "it must be wonderful!"

As she spoke she couldn't help but wonder how much further it was to the sandy place.

Baku glanced over at the femme and couldn't help but agree with her. "The world is a beautiful place." He did not feel the need to comment on his ability to fly. They were certainly a conveinent form of transportation and they showed his status as an immortal so the young God could say nothing that opposed the juvenile. A small nod of the head was the only inclination that he agreed with her thoughts of flight and viewing the world from such a magnificent position.

As they walked the ground slowly became more grainy and the vegetation less numerous. The skies bright reds and pinks slowly diminished to that of a deep blue as the glittering lights took their spots in the sky where the golden sun had recently inhabited.

Finally their journey brought them upon a sea of sand which rose and fell as far as the eye could see. The temperature was somewhat cool but nothing too uncomfortable for a lion well protected by its pelt. Yes, this was the home of the cruel Firekin and the beginning of Baku's entertainment.

"This is the land of sand, the Ardhi'a'kifo." He spoke as his eyes washed over the crests and gullies of the sand. "This is as far as I will take you, you're on your own now."

Kiburi was tired to say the last but she continued, watching as the landscape changed around her, and when the time came for them to part it was with a heavy heart that she accepted the fact.

"Thank you Baku." Her voice was a whisper now as she turned to face him, "I don't know what else to say. You've done so much to help me, convinced me to continue when I thought all hope was lost." Her heart fluttered, "you're a good friend and I truly hope we can see one another again.

Then she took a few steps back, gazed at him a moment longer and continued onwards alone.

It was time to prove she was strong.

Baku nodded after Kib spoke but said nothing more. He watched as she tentavily took her first few steps into the desert and turned back to him. He did not move nor make any indication that he would. The next time she would turn to look for him she would find nothing more but empty air. The only sign that the God had been there were the prints of his paws in the sandy ground which would not last for long in such a harsh habitat.
