Atlas had said what he came to, and was now done with the conversation. His mind didn't dwell on his lack of moon markings, like Lela had. He wasn't jealous of Ziva's coat, he merely admired it. He didn't wish to discuss her bizarre parents or her way of life. He had simply wished to confess to letting Vunozi tail him, and to feeling a need to protect Ziva, and to telling both the youngsters they could meet again under his watch. Now that he had said his piece, he was content with leaving them back to whatever they had been discussing before.

The large brown lion stood and shook off his growing sleepiness. "Well, Dad ... Lela." He nodded to both of them in turn and took a step to the side. "I'll be off now. Maybe I'll go talk to Unyezi about Vunozi's future outings with me." He wasn't sure if he'd actually go do that right that moment, but it was an idea. "I'll see you later!" He smiled to them and jogged off.

Lela smiled and nodded back to Atlas, but kept quiet, allowing father and son to say their goodbyes. Upon watching him jog off, she shook her head but smiled. He was an interesting lion, but she thought he had yet to blossom into what he would be. Lela herself was a late bloomer in that she had spent a fair amount of her young adulthood worrying and stressing about this, that and the other. It wasn't until recent that she had relaxed into her own and become truly herself.

And a lot of that was accredited to the lion she was now alone with. She turned her blue eyes back on him, a warm smile still gracing her features. "He's cute, Thoth. The way he cared so much about how you would think of his actions. And how much he worried about that rogue cub. He'd make a good dad some day." She felt a slight pang, as she usually did, at the topic of parenthood. She tried to keep it to herself, though.

"That sounds like a good idea," Thoth nodded, smiling at the familiar farewell to Lela, "Good bye!"

Making a mental note to chat with Unyezi himself later, and to check with Atlas again, he turned to Lela, grinning.

"Takes after me, you know," he responded when Lela complimented Atlas, chuckling to himself- mostly because there wasn't really much Atlas took after him, at least considering how he was not genetically his son. Certainly he had an attitude that reflected what kind of a parent Thoth had been, though.

"I was thinking the same thing, you know," he added, looking back off where Atlas had run, shaking his head.

Lela chuckled as well, something she hadn't used to do often. Her guard was completely down. "Oh yes, he's your spitting image." She winked and leaned it to nudge Thoth with her shoulder. Physical contact - also something Lela had withheld from previously. Though she was still the ever proper lioness, she'd allowed herself a little playfulness lately. Actually, she hadn't even allowed it. She'd more fallen into it. And really, she could see a few similarities between Thoth and Atlas. She wasn't sure if personality was learned or inherited, but either way, Thoth had had a good effect on the younger male. And it seemed like his influence was helping more every day.

She was caught off guard by his next comment, though, and her eyes widened a little. What was he talking about? Had he guessed her thought process? Traced it to her desire for her own little ones? Quickly, though, she recovered. They were talking about Atlas - he must be referring to his son making a good father some day. She eased back into a relaxed countenance and nodded. "And to think Amalthea might be a mother soon." She wasn't one hundred percent certain how Thoth would handle being a grandpa, but she was certain he'd be doting on those kids.

"Lucky for him I'm so attractive," he commented, grinning at Lela and even nudging her back. The change in her did not go unnoticed, it was probably the thing that encouraged Thoth to continue how he did despite the class difference and worries about appropriateness. Her surprise when he agreed with her made him raise a brow but her reminder that Amalthea could very well become a mother soon force his attention elsewhere.

"I hadn't thought of that," he said, looking startled but not unhappy, "I mean, you're right. Atlas is hanging out with kids but Amalthea's the one headed towards making her own family."

He'd been so distracted by how much Amalthea cheered up once in love, he hadn't really thought about what usually happened next. What an interesting twist.

In her own mind, Lela couldn't see Atlas becoming a father for a little while still. She figured he still had some growing up to do. For all she knew, though, Atlas was ready to go and WANTED it. She should get to know him better - get to know all of Thoth's adopted children better.

"I'm sure she'll have a beautiful family, at that. You'll have a beautiful family." She smiled brightly at him, reassuring. Her mind was still working overtime about wanting her own cubs, though. She was toying with the idea of dropping a hint. Considering the options of how Thoth would react. A part of her, the new relaxed part, saw no problem of just letting it out, sharing her thoughts with him. The other part of her, though, HAD to analyze the options. She wanted to be comfortable enough to just out right say she wanted cubs, and perhaps allude to him being a part of it. She just wasn't there in her forwardness yet, though.

"I already have that," he murmured thoughtfully, thinking about everything that was changing, "It'll just getting bigger." He smiled. His kids had been adults for a while but now they were all really growing up. And though maybe he didn't directly tell Lela, he wasn't oblivious and felt and saw many of the same things with her.

"What an interesting day this has been."

Lela smiled, picturing Thoth with his four grown children. She then added in Amalthea's new beau to the picture, and just as easily slid herself in. Yes, he did already have a beautiful family. A beautiful, growing family.

For the time being, she decided she was completely at ease with not broaching the topic of her desires for the future, and perhaps Thoth's. Perhaps things didn't even need to be voiced. Maybe in time they would simply be understood. Of course, Lela had trouble operating on maybes - she liked hard evidence, reassurance. Time, all they needed was some time. Things were already rolling in that direction, anyway. Though she knew Thoth was careful with what he said sometimes, she'd wait for him to make the first move in that direction. Or maybe, they'd need a little push.
