Joey silently thought about things, like how she was going to manage to survive in this weird school. Was she honestly the only human here? Gifted human, she corrected herself. That either made her a freak in the human world and in the suprnatural world, or special in her own little way. She figured freak would be the term most would consider. She took a deep breath and let out a sigh, suddenly feeling tense and restless.

 Zeph felt her restlessness and walked over to the top of the bed. He smiled and licked her on the cheek, "Why so tense?" he whispered quietly so that no one else could hear.

Joey looked at him, and petted his head absently. "Just, you know... stuff." she said lamely, not really feeling like explaining it all right now. "And you do know there's nobody in here right now, it's safe to put away the doggy disguise." she chuckled at the last part, sitting up and crossing her legs so she sat indian style on the bed.

 Zeph smiled and transformed back. He fell off the bed though because he was right on the edge when he looked like a dog. Then he patted the back of his head and chuckled a bit, "Maybe I should have gotten off the bed first." he said.

Joey laughed at him as he fell. "Yeah, maybe you should have." she then grinned, running her hand through her bangs as she stood up and walked gingerly over to the small kitchen. She decided to grab a soda out of the fridge, "Want anything?" she asked him over her shoulder.

"I'm fine." Zeph said smiling. "This place is surprisingly nice though. I looks a lot different now that I'm back to normal." he said.

"How is it surprising?" Joey asked, shutting the fridge and then walking back over, taking a seat on the couch. She unscrewed the bottle and took a long drink.

Joey looked around and realized he was right. It was a lot nicer. She then burped from the soda, and felt her face go a light shade of pink. " 'Scuse me." she said, placing the bottle down on the stand by the couch, utterly embarressed.

Zeph sighed, "Well... I grew up in a circus which moved around a lot so I don't really come from any one place. I got a normal job after getting enough money to stay somewhere and got old enough. After a while though, my powers were discovered and I was sent here. What about you?" he asked.

"A circus? Really?" Joey tilted her head a bit at that. Her parents always took her brothers out to circuses, but they had never took her anywhere. "I grew up in a town of religious humans. In my family every other generation gets some sort of gift. My grandfather was a famous necromancer, so our family already sort of had a bad rap with the townsfolk. But my mum and dad were normal, and so were my brothers. I was the only one with powers. My parents were afraid the word would get out, so to save their own sorry selves they actually kept me locked away, either in my room or the basement. And they pretended that they didn't even have a daughter." her expression had turned dark and angry, and even a bit sad. "When this school wanted me they were overjoyed to send me away... I was happy to leave, I really do hate them."
