I here you. I'm in 13 RP guilds. And I'm doing one in PMs. And the ones in the guilds I have numerous people going. And of course I have to post stalk other peoples RPs. And it's like the meanest thing when people don't reply quickly hehe.

i used to be incredibly addicted to role playing. of course, that has gone down now that i realize it makes everything so out of control. right now i'm in five role plays, used to be ten but then the people ditched, and some how that doesn't feel like it's enough since the people post so slowly. maybe i'm having withdrawl symptoms. lol it's fine to be addicted to role playing, as long as it doesn't rule your life. (trust me, i've been there.) lol

I'm only in two but I'm maintaining 5 characters on one. Does that count as addicted?

Years ago, I was Role-playing without even knowing what Role-play was. Me and my brother would go into the basement. Then, we would act out the characters in our favorite tv shows. We eventually made every single one of those characters completely unique. There was a solid plot and universe built up from many years of this. Some refer to this type of Role-playing as L.A.R.P. which stands for Live Action Role-play.
I also got my feet wet. By just writing short stories on paper. There length ranged from less than a page. To, a month or more worth of writing to finish the story. The subject matter ranged from a Mansion, Warrior and Vampire. To, a Drier trying to eat someone chasing them through a Warehouse.
I guess the first organized Role-playing I ever did. Was on this one Role-playing board. The Role-play was based off of a comic that they had developed.
There are a few classification for Role-player that I've seen.
Casual- A Casual Role-play will spend a very small amount of time Role-playing daily. This type of Role-player you can often count on to post around once a day maybe more.
Speed- A Speed Role-player will respond to your posts in a timely manner. If you are both online. It is possible to both many 20+ posts in a day.
"Helper"- My least favorite type of Role-player. A Helper is someone that regularly tries to improve your own Role-playing. Note that an actual Helper that doesn't have quotes around it. Will actually give occasional tips in a respectful way. While a "Helper" will demean your Role-playing. The easiest way to avoid these people. Is to not join any Role-plays with a Black-List that actually has names on it.
Muncher- A Muncher is someone that uses any type of God-Modding. I'm often guilty of being a Twink. Which is someone that uses Gods in a realist Role-play. There are also Show Elves. That wait until you have logged off. Then, your character is fair game to do whatever they want with it short of killing the character off.
One of the most amusing cases of God-modding I've seen:
Person #1- I don't god-mod Person #2- What are you talking about!!? You had one-hundred wolves in the Role-play. Each one of the things could regenerate when killed. Plus, every one of them were carrying diseases.
biggrin
Shoe Elf- Now that that noob is gone. I strap his shoes with a rocket and send him off to the moon. Twink- Eyes glow then I rip your soul out of your chest. God-modder versus realistic role-player-
Realistic Role-player- I suit up in my Mechanical Suit. I push the correct button sequences to start the engines up and I am ready to go. God-modder- I'm a three-foot seven inch tall kid. I'm sick of your realistic Role-playing so I punch your robot in the chest. My punches have the power to destroy anything I touch. Oh yeah, I also have the power to steal your girlfriend.
Respect to the original Munch Project.
