personality; Bitter Heartbeat is a shell, a hard outer shell of quiet energy that never seems to know exactly what to do or what to say. Upon first meeting, he would likely seem unintelligent, a mere mimic of the presence he is in. It takes a careful prodding of this shell to reveal a more complicated depth of personality and emotion underneath. If the prodding isn't careful, either too fast or plain antagonistic, he will spook and retreat further within himself. A slower approach will reveal that Bitter Heartbeat is simply deathly afraid of doing the wrong thing. He thinks himself incapable of doing great things, any good deed is surely a fluke, and he is incredibly self-deprecating if given the chance to be. On the flip-side of this cynical, nervous, and undoubtedly suspicious buck, he is incredibly loyal to the point of blindly following those that have gained his trust. Should a friend (ignorant or sadistic) tell him that they needed him, for whatever reason, to go to the ends of the world--he would do it. There would certainly be times when he would wish to give up but he would remember that friend and he would go on. It would be quite easy to lead him to his death or force him to do evil deeds. He is indeed that loyal, that dependable. He is also easily pleased. Should someone gain his trust, his friendship, as long as a compliment or (perceived) act of kindness occurs once in awhile, they could treat him horribly and he wouldn't see anything wrong with that.
