Everything was quiet, peaceful. Tenga had been surveying the area and making the rounds so that he knew the Great Tree would be kept safe. It felt like his job. He knew the Great Tree well and had been by its side since he was young. It was like a tradition for members of Sunhedge to look after it, and although the tribe was small in numbers, he did not mind the extra work. He loved that tree.
Leaping down from his post at a short cliff on the mountain, Tenga decided that he was feeling rather thirsty now after a long period of watching out for intruders. There was no one else to take his post but he didn't figure anyone would come by any time soon. Not many tried at this time of day.
Making his way to a hidden watering hole, Tenga dipped his tiny claws into the water and pulled the cool liquid to his face. He did not like to be as unruly as other animals an bend his head down to the water. He believed in moving forward and would have in fact used a sort of 'cup' had he the materials to make one nearby. Although it was far from the forest, Tenga liked his secret little water hole. It provided what he needed so close to his post and no one else ever tried to drink from it.

[Location; Sunhedge]
Leandar moved along the short cliff that comprised Tenga's post. Scanning the surface for the perfect rock, Leandar searched for the perfect rock, he had been hiking since the end of dusk, but his search seemed to be of no avail. The rock was elusive, it had to be smooth, round, big but not boulder-big. Perfect. Suddenly a stone made it's way into his peripheral. The rock was actually tucked slightly under another, but his feline vision had seen it. Going down the checklist in his mind, Leandar was pleased. It had a reddish tint to it's grey color.

As Tenga smoothed down his fur with the extra moisture that clung to his paws, he heard something back near his post. Turning his ears ever so slightly, he focused on the sounds. It was alive, it had to be. No weeds made sounds like that, the familiar soft thumping sound. Had he not been on a lower lever due to the water hole being hidden so far below, he might not have even heard it. Fortunately, Tenga's ears were fairly sharp.
It has to be some type of cat. No other animal takes such care in how they step unless they plan to attack... Tenga narrowed his eyes and put up his hood to flatten his ears. Cautiously he approached the opening where the intruder was probably standing and gazed out upon the scene. As he thought, it was a feline. A male too. Tenga considered sneaking up on it, but once he saw the its cheerful face as it eyed the ground, he remembered the Great Tree. It would be terrible of him to fight without warning and even worse to fight without need.
"Halt!" he said in his best 'authority' voice. "Who goes there? What is your purpose? Are you friend or enemy?"

Leandar stopped cold in his tracks, his ears twitched, even tiny mice make slight footprints, making pebbles slide with his small shuffling feet. The wild cat turned, looking upon the Great Tree, and for a moment ignoring the question at hand. Never before had he looked upon the Great Tree, and taken it in, or been to Sunhedge for that matter. It was cold on the hillside of the mountain, he was very high up at the moment. "It's so magnificent..." Leandar said out loud absentmindedly. His gaze moved on to Tenga, holding up the rock, he smiled warmly, "I came here to find a rock, and it seems I have. My name is Leandar and I'm friend-ly at least... Whether you and I will be friends, I cannot say."

Raising an eyebrow, Tenga looked the wildcat up and down. He didn’t look too harmful… Then Tenga’s eyes met the cat’s claws. He knew all too well how sharp they kept their claws. ‘Good for crafting’ they’d say. Good for a lot more than that...
“Every stone here belongs to the Great Tree. What possible reason could you be seeking a single stone? Crafting perhaps?” Tenga heard himself chuckle. He sure did hope it was for some sort of craft. He hadn't been around the other tribes much as he was constantly taking care of the Great Tree, so Tenga was unaware of any new technological advances others had made. He would have much prefered being able to travel so he could learn more but his love for the Great Tree was much too great. If only he could take it with him so that it should never face any harm...

Leandar moved his paw close to his face, and touched it on his nose, claws retracted. "Right on the nose. You guessed it. I'm crafting a instrument weapon... thing.." The wildcat closed his eyes thinking for a moment before continuing on... " I think I will call it a wenstrument." Wild eyes moved about excitedly, taking in the surrounding landscape, it was beautiful...
"What's your name?"

Tenga's eyes narrowed as he heard the word 'weapon'. So it really was meant for fighting. Yet... something seemed a little off. This wildcat acted so strange, so innocent. So cheesy. Tenga chuckled as the cat performed the action of touching his nose as he spoke the words. Then this 'wenstrument' thing... what a silly thing to say.
Still keeping an eye on the wildcat, Tenga gave a short but friendly smile.
"My name is Tenga. I protect the Great Tree along with the rest of my tribe. And who might I be talking too?"

Leandar smiled, joining in on Tenga's laugh. "My name is Leandar of the Hallowmarl tribe." Turning on his heel, Leandar continued onward, heading for Fangroot, time wasn't really of the essence, but the wildcat was on a journey to create an instrument, and he would without a doubt. Next stop, Fangroot.

Watching and waiting quietly, Robert shuffled his paws while the two exchanged words.
If given the chance, he normally wouldn't venture out of Hallowmarl as it was his home, but talk of Sunhedge made his ears perked. His sister and mother lived here, and Robert often ached to visit his little sister, as she was the closest thing he had for a friend. The two shared everything... laughter, sadness, pain, they went through it all, together.
This... wentrument.
Robert couldn't help but chuckle softly at such a word. To build such a thing... was it even possible? He thought the wildcat slightly eccentric, but held his tongue. Crazy or not, he definitely wouldn't want to get into a fight with him.
When the two finished speaking, Robert turned towards him, prepared to ask if they were going to venture farther in, only to have the wildcat walk right past him.
Stunned, Robert stared, mouth agape. The cat had no intentions of staying...
Robert sighed, looking back towards the entrance to Sunhedge. Without another word, he followed Leander. No matter how much he wanted to stay and find his sister, it wouldn't be the wisest to leave by himself, especially in another tribe.

Having acquired the perfect rock in Sunhedge, the would-be musician was headed to Fangroot, in order to find the best wood possible for the body of his guitar. In addition Leandar had never ventured into the dark wooded realm. When he arrived, Leandar was instantly surprised by the lack of light in some places. The wildcat had long ago noticed that Robert had joined him back in Sunhedge, "lets climb up," he suggested to the rabbit.

Hearing himself being addressed, he looked up, and realized they had arrived in Fangroot.
Feeling a sense of forebodement, Robert couldn't help but feel uneasy, sensing that they were somehow being... watched. His ears twitched, and his eyes darted back and forth, watching for any movement. Deciding it was safe, he turned his attention towards the wildcat and nodded.
"Alright."

"HEY."
The young, audacious voice interrupted their attempt to climb, a pale ferret was glaring down at them, obviously perturbed.
"You don't belong here! Git out, then, 'er I'll stomp you myself! 'N my friends'll beat on you, too!"
The little fellow puffed out his chest before sliding down the tree. He'd fought plenty of big critters! He was a Rooter! They didn't know who they were messing with, walking around his tribe like they owned the place!

"I'm just here to gather some wood for an instrument I'm making, Fangroot's wood in renowned," Leandar nodded innocently. Taking a couple cautious steps back, the wildcat would extend his claws and go on with his speech, "if you are unwilling to veer from the idea of fighting, I'll be more than happy to oblige." Leandar grinned, it had been quite sometime since he last fought, and although he didn't particularly like starting fights, he wasn't opposed to a good brawl every now again. "Robert, stay out of the fight, it'll be one on one," he turned to the rabbit, and offered a reassuring smile. HP: 16/16 MP: 6/6

Stone and Baneberry were not friends, but when the greating 'Hey' voice woke her up from the short nap she had been taking, the large raptor knew there was trouble afoot.
Ruffling her feathers, she dropped from her perch and took to a glide. They commotion was only a few trees over, and the small pale creature was already making a fool of itself.
"Rodents are dumb, dumb," Stonebeak muttered to herself as she watched the ferret slide down. Her eyes continued outwards until they reached the wildcat, and she puffed in annoyance.
Stonebeak did not like cats.
"The shortnose is in trouble now! It comes to Fangroot, it finds trouble!" Stonebeak shouted after the feline. She shuffled from foot to foot, ready to move, but waiting for Baneberry to strike first.
Cats were smelly.

You couldn't even find your next meal anymore without someone causing a racket and sending the tasty but warier prey into hiding. Laird was hungry and less than pleased that as he winged his way under the complicated to navigate treetops of Fangroot all he could hear was shouting. The voices sounded fairly familiar too which mean he couldn't even eat the idiots because they were his tribe mates and he sort of maybe cared about them even if he wasn't going to show or say it. Keen eyes zeroed on on the problem area quickly and for all that he was not int he mood for this nonsense Laird knew he must involve himself. There was an outsider threatening one of the tribes young ones and that was not acceptable. The falcon circled the area, a dangerous gleam in his small eyes. "Do not be touching our brat" he shrieked. 18/18 HP 10/10 MP
