Aido chuckled, bi-colored eyes bright, "well... I guess it's not really improper, it's more that it's just difficult to hug someone when they're three times as tall as you are."
Rael nudged at Chailyn's pant leg yet again and offered his head up to be scratched.
She glanced up, looking to the overcast sky and shrugged, "just restless I suppose."
Rael huffed and Aido shook her head at him, "and, of course, I've got Rael to keep me company, so I'm not really alone. What about you? You're not out here by yourself, are you?"

"Oh, that makes sense. If Dad and Mom didn't pick me up, I'd only be able to hug their legs!" Chailyn gave a giggle letting her hand start stracthing Rael's head. She smiled at him happily glad to offer him something.
She shook her head, "No, my sister is over there. My mom hasn't been feeling well. I think. I'm not sure really. So Dully came with me but she's working on something. She said something about making a list of our mom's friends for something." She shrugged not quite sure of what her sister was doing. Alls she really knew was that her mom hadn't really slept or left the house.

Aido laughed and nodded, glad Chailyn caught what she meant.
Rael's tail beat the ground and he leant back into the scratchings happily. Before he shivered slightly and shook himself, giving Aido a pensive look.
"Huh... I hope your mom isn't sick," after all, being sick sucked. Aido glanced the way that Chailyn was pointing and nodded again, "but that's good that your sister doesn't mind coming out with you," she smiled, kneeling down, she was feeling...restless, again. Bah.
Looking to the younger Tale she tilted her head, "Chailyn, do you want to go on a ride on Rael?"

"Dulcea comes with me when Mom is busy or something. She's a good sister," Chailyn nodded smiling at Aido. She thought it was easy to talk to the older tale and though it was still winter, she was having fun.
"A ride on Rael? That sounds like fun." A grin spread over her face as she nodded her head petting Rael's head.

"It is fun!" Aido said with a happy grin at the younger Tale's assent and nodded to Rael.
With a yawn Rael stretched out, shrugging away from Chailyn's hand sadly.
He shook himself and stretched, shifting away from the dog like form to something larger, just about horse sized, the same size he'd been before. He looked quite like a very large black dog now Fully enlarged he lay down in the snow and nuzzled Chailyn affectionately again, apparently asking for the petting to resume.

Chailyn grinned at Aido. If she said it was fun, the tale believed her. She gave a wave to Dulcea who seemed to guess the two were going off. Normally, she would've asked where they were going, how long they'd be gone, if they had a first aid kit, or any other mother hen question. Instead she waved back giving permission without doing much of anything except scratching a few more notes in her notebook.
"Wow, Rael! You're an even bigger...um...Aido? What is Rael exactly?" she whispered to the older tale. She blushed moving to resume petting the large shadow dog.

Aido blinked at the question and looked at Rael, "Rael? Well, he's a Shadow, and my Companion of course." The statement came out vaguely pensive and she scratched at her cheek considerately.
If she considered it, most shadows weren't nearly as independent as Rael was, nor did they think like her Companion did, but Aido rarely thought about those differences. Rael was just... Rael.
Rael preened as the petting resumed and thumped his tail, apparently not about to shed any light on the exact nature of his exsistance. He wiggled his back a bit as if signalling for them to get on if they were going to go for a ride.

"Oh. Well I thought he was a dog at first," she admitted with a light blush. She giggled letting her fingers move over Rael's head and down to his back. She climbed onto his back leaning forward to rub his neck gently. She was happy to be allowed to go for a ride and looked at Aido.
"You're coming too right?" she added. It probably sounded like a stupid question but she was feeling a tad nervous. She'd never been riding before.

-Dogs are normal,- Rael rumbled offhandedly as an explanation for his often chosen form and Aido giggled, "aha, that makes sense, and of course I'm coming." She replied with a warm smile and climbed on behind Chailyn, mauvering so her arms were bracing the younger Tale on either side, just incase they had to take a sharp turn or something, and gripped onto Rael's fur.
Rael got to his feet and gave himself a small shake, -where should we go?- he asked the two Tales.

She thought of pointing out that shadows were normal too but didn't want to make Rael feel less special. Besides most shadows couldn't talk or move on their own. At least she didn't think so or had never seen something like Rael.
Instead she nodded in agreement with the shadow patting his chosen form. She smiled as Aido climbed on behind her. She was glad to feel like she was being held onto with Aido's arms beside her. It wouldn't be very fun to topple off of the Shadow.
"Where should we go Aido?" the tale asked her voice shaking lightly from the movement of Rael's shaking. She giggled giving a smile.

Aido considered it, but no place immediately sprang to mind as a good place to go on a ride. She shrugged and lent her chin on Chailyn's head, "you choose Chailyn."

Chailyn thought for a moment her eyes attempting to look up at Aido and failing. Where should they go? It was hard to say where they should go as a breeze rustled through. "Wherever the wind takes us?" she asked. It was all she could think of.

Aido and Rael exchanged pensive looks before the older Tale grinned warmly and nodded, "whereever the wind takes us then," she agreed and beneath them Rael began to walk then trot then full out run after the breeze.

The first few steps as Rael began to move were a bit odd. The movement of his body made her bounce a little before she teetered backwards leaning against Aido. She giggled tilting her head up to look at the older tale giving a grin.
A breeze rushed from behind, touching the sides of Chailyn's arms as she shivered. They'd barely started and it was already more fun than she'd imagined. "This is fun," she told the two giving another smile.

Aido's halo glowed warmly as they cut into the forest, still following the wind. The older Tale's arms tightened a bit as they cut around the trees, "I'm glad you like it!" she said loudly to get past the wind's slight howl.
Beneath them Rael picked up speed momentarily and leapt over a small, partially iced over stream.
