Sin couldn't help it, she cringed when the lines were botched, things weren't looking good. The play seemed so broken and stale, how were they going to save it? She lowered her head a bit and rubbed her temples trying to endure instead of getting up and walking out. She had to just stick it out, besides the players would probably feel awful if everyone just left. Or maybe they would be relieved, considering how things were going. Sin glanced around to see if anyone was enjoying the scene, perhaps they could simply pull it off as a humorous version of the classic story?

[ SPECTATOR POST ]
Ren did not recognize the girl...er, that was to say, the boy who had walked out on stage wearing a very...interesting outfit made of -
A dress. He was wearing a dess.
Ren stared, his feet still up on the seat in front of him. What kind of play was this? Main character (a boy) performed by an off-key, unenthusiastic actor (girl) while her "co-star" (a boy) had come out wearing...that, in a horrible attempt at being Sally (a girl).
It was disturbing. Very, very disturbing.
Ren reached into his pocket, pulling out a bag of M&M's, which he opened under his jacket, muffling the rustling of the package. Popping one into his mouth, he looked up just in time to see the boy - er, rather, the girl pretending to be the boy - throw her fist into the girl - ....er, the boy's - face.
Well, Ren thought, chewing methodically on a green M&M. It's not boring, at least.

SPECTATOR POST
Tahki had been a little late to the play. Awkwardly, the gryphon shuffled about trying to find a seat that didn't have to many people crowded. Finally she settled for one near the front row. Looking up though she almost gasped at the sight of Nuk in a dress.
A boy in a dress? Tahkis face turned bright pink. Oh the embarrassment he must be feeling right now. Or if Tahki had been in his shoes she'd be feeling it for sure. The gryphon couldn't help but dive into thoughts about what it would be like to be Nuk right now and they were not happy thoughts. Of course the gryphon was blinded by her own personal feelings of the idea rather then really taking a step into Nuks shoes.
Shehk being jack slightly amused the girl she had to admit though. Tahki would never openly admit to the fact she was indeed amused though. Oh no.
At least so far Tahki's attention had been grasped.

Actor's Post: Mayor 1
Somewhere backstage, Amrita was in a panic mode.
Luckily, it was one of those panic modes that had her standing there, stiff as a board with a wide eye, and not the panic mode that had her screaming in terror once upon a time. Oh jack, she did not want to be in this play. No she didn't! It was a slight comfort that her role was a smaller one, but only slight.
When it came time to prepare for their appearance on stage, poor Tess was met with a wide-eyed stare of distress and a timid voice claiming she couldn't do this oh jack why did she show up this was going to be terrible. But, a job was a job and if Nukpana could take the time to at least show up and put on that makeup and dress, she could take the time to play one half of the Mayor.
Nuk-Sally was already screwing everything up! While she took a hold of the large hat that a gnome handed to her, the Vetala stared out towards the stage. This was a disaster! Not only that, but she had no idea where they were in the script! This was terrible they were going to fail so bad and she'd tried so hard and oh jack what if she forgot her lines once she got out there but I guess it wouldn't be so bad because she wouldn't have been the first one to mess up and...
Thankfully, her train of thought trailed off.
It took a flailing gnome to get the two ghouls (and "Zero") onto the stage a clear few seconds after Shehk-Jack's last line, both dressed as the Mayor; Amrita was sitting on Maritess' shoulders, her arms folded on the top of the other ghoul's black hair, and her thankfully backwards feet hooked around to Tess' back. It was Amrita who was wearing the Mayor's tall hat, and it was Amrita who spoke first, trying to be loud and as not-deadpan as she could be.
"Umm...Is it time, Jack? Shall we...begin?"
When it came time for Tess to speak her lines, the Undead child shakily reached up to take a hold of the hat on her head, somehow managing to place it on her partner's head without falling or flailing.
That, on it's own, was a success.

[SPECTATOR POST]
Junko had been, quite honestly, very displeased when she saw who was Sally. She would have been sad anyway for not getting the part in general, but the fact that it was Nukpana of all people...she only really knew him from word of mouth around the school, from his very unorthodox campaign during the student council elections but she did interact with him very briefly during the Christmas Town fiasco. The Mistress' agitation had not helped with his annoying behavior. She went to the play anyway, curious to see how they would go about with a male Sally and a female Jack, and just how they would do the play at all.
She had been thrown at first, but as it progressed so far her jaw had begun to drop. Wh-what was he wearing?! The seamstress in her screamed in agony, and it took everything Junko had not to get up and run from that awful dress. It fit him all wrong! Sure, he was a boil, but even Junko was sure there was a way to make a dress he could wear! She dragged her hands down her face and slouched down into her seat, staring at the actors on the stage through her fingers. Junko was very glad she brought enough food for Her to keep Herself occupied, or else She would be yelling all kinds of things right about now.

She was not one hundred percent sure why she had chosen to first try out for this play, and now, she was coming to watch it! LW sat slouched in a chair with her small feet up lightly on the seat in front of her. The she-wolf's tail was draped along her legs as she leaned back and watched the beginnings of the play. Perhaps it was her curiosity that had drawn her to show up?
Soft snort to herself, the she-wolf merely cocked an eyebrow when the first actor...ess came out. She had to blink. Was that a ghoul playing the part of Jack?! Then the second actor came out. Holy Candlejack! That boil was wearing a dress! This play had suddenly gotten a whole lot more interesting. She might actually pay attention to it now.

Actor's Post: Mayor 2
It was a very good thing that Tess had someone riding on her shoulders. This way she could focus on keeping herself afloat and balanced and remembering her lines and taking cues and basically everything that wasn't the audience whom she was sure were staring and JUDGING every. Single. Move. And. Line. Otherwise, large leathery wings wouldn't have been flapping silently and rapidly, which would have left the Vetala and the Manananggal on the floor. Alright, fine, the gnome was of some help too. At least they got on stage, didn't they?
Crimson eyes shot daggers at Nukpana for forgetting his lines. Sure, most of the students in the play had been on that excursion but still! This play meant a lot even if her role had fewer lines. But at least as the Mayor, she had a valid reason to be looking at Jack. No, wait, Sally. Well, both of them! When Amrita had finished speaking her lines, it was Tess' turn. She waited until she felt the hat rest atop her head and gripped the Vetala's legs tighter. "B-but I'm nervous..." she stammered, in what the winged vampire thought was a nervous voice. "What if Sandy Claws doesn't show up!??"
The emphasis on the last phrase sounded blatantly melodramatic. Tess is sorry, her point of reference has always been those cheesy foreign romance skelenovellas. Also: She is a winged ham despite all her attempts at toning the over-acting down.

Actor's Post: Zero
Tybalt gave a curse before getting ready to enter on stage. He couldn't find Igneous anywhere. He must have searched the entire back stage, and outside as well, before giving up. There was absolutely no sign of her. Did she forget? Or did she get held up or something? He had no idea. But he couldn't wait any longer, it was their cue and already they were a little late to enter. "Ah sludgesticks!"
Tossing the sheet styled after Zero over himself, he forced the rest of his body to fade completely into invisibility. This way it looked as though he was floating. It was funny how his natural ability could aid him in this role. In fact, it was pretty much the reason he had gotten it in the first place. Though he still wasn't sure if he should have been happy about that or not. Oh well... It was going to help him now and that was all that mattered. He needed it!
Adjusting the sheet a little, he practically ran out onto the stage to catch up with Tess and Amrita, who had already gone out ahead of him. They had already spoken their lines, by the time he reached them and slowly circled around them, before he came to a complete stop.
He may have circled them more than he needed to, but he was still trying to get a look at the backstage to see if Igneous had arrived or not. Unfortunately there was still no sign of the gargoyle... Maybe she'd show up later? Maybe. For now all he could do was------whoa! What the hell was Nuk wearing!? He stared at the skinwalker, before quickly biting his lip to keep himself from laughing. He knew that Nuk had the role for Sally, but he never would have thought that he would actually go so far as to wear a dress!

ACTOR'S POST: JACK
Oh good. Things had...somewhat played off relatively well even after she'd popped Nukpana in the face right on stage. There was bound to be someone who was getting a blast out of seeing her do that, but..yes. She had to move on. Shehk coughed into her hands.
"Sandy Claws will show tonight, we just got to do this right!" Shehk added a fistpump for dramatic purposes here, before starting to rifle about in her pockets.
" Now, take out your summoning rings, and let us start and begin this thing!" As if on cue, she found what she was looking for, looking over it with a frown before pulling it onto one of her fingers and holding her hand up in the air.
"I call upon the powers of Holly!"
.... ......
She sort of felt like an idiot standing in the middle of the stage yelling stupid s**t with her hand held up high in the air.
HIIYYAHHHH!!! Â

Johan frowned up at the stage where a very stilted, and awkward rendition of the Nightmare Before Christmas was taking place. Nightmare indeed. Why was a boil in an ill fitting dress playing Sally? Why was a ghoul playing Jack? Why was he even here?
Sighing, he pulled a book from his bandages and tried to read by the light of the stage. Until Jack said something about summoning the power of Holly. While Johan might not have been completely familiar with the play, he was very sure no summoning had been involved. He looked back at the stage, wondering what was going on besides bad acting.

SPECTATOR POST
Lucien hadn't originally planned to go to the School Play, having run off the stage during auditions and all, but now he was sitting there and very much watching as he noticed some of the strangest things. Okay, maybe not strange by Lucien's manner, but still strange. The only redeeming feature was that he seen his little friend Amrita. He wasn't quite sure what her role was but it seemed quite interesting which then seemed to followed by the Freakuent Flyers member, Maritess? He wasn't quite sure on that though.
He kind of hmmed to himself for a moment, trying to keep his focus on the play but eventually his attention kept drawing elsewhere. He was looking at different students who sat in the audience. They weren't very interesting today, not at all. Lucien couldn't help but actually want to look back and watch the play just in time to see the role he had gone for, Zero, come on stage in what seemed to be a rushed manner. Tilting his head, the air spirit could have sworn he seen a wisp of a black dog's tail under that sheet.
"Hm..." was all he said again as he hovered off the seat just a little in anxiety.

ACTOR'S POST: SALLY
Apparently in this rendition of Nightmare Before Christmas 'Jack' punched 'Sally' in the face. Amityville: promoting domestic violence since ... whenever the school opened.
There was an audible thud as Shehk's fist made contact with the skinwalker's face, Nuk taking a half a step backward to stable himself. Well that hadn't been unexpected, although he had been surprised that she'd done it so fast. Not that he should have been, all things considered. Reaching up to rub his injured cheek, he sulked a little further at the line she had thrown in as a shot at him, sticking out his tongue in her direction in reply.
"And you were so affectionate when we were being clobbered by Christmas toys," he half-muttered under his breath, barely loud enough for anyone on stage to hear, although they might have.
By the time he'd actually swiveled his head in the direction of stage-left (his or the audiences, he forgot which way it went,) Amrita and Tess had already flown onto stage and were starting their lines. A little hilariously, they kind of balanced each other out -- Rita being too flat and Tess being too dramatic, it actually made for a GOOD Mayor, who was supposed to be two-faced. Although he still looked sulky, he couldn't help but give the Mayor Duo a helpful, toothy grin, the two so cute and nervous (as Tess' line had ironically pointed out,) that he felt the urge to reassure them. Hey, it was something Sally would do, right?
Smirking again at Shehk's dramatic fist-pump, the skinwalker folded his arms across his very-flat chest as he listened to her, quirking an eyebrow a little at her lines. And then it was his turn again. Doing a double-take at 'Zero,' (followed by a scowl and a raised fist -- he saw the way your sheet was shaking, dog-boy) Nuk reached down to dig in his pocket for the aluminum foil 'ring' he had made about... two seconds before the play had started, lifting his hand as well.
"I hope you're right, 'Jack' -- I call upon the powers of Snow! Although I'm not sure why I'd want to."

Amrita didn't hear Nuk's little grumble to Shehk. No, she was too busy trying to not fall off of poor Tess. She did see his toothy grin though, and for a moment mistook it as a threatening gesture; the quickest way to bare your teeth at someone was to smile, after all. It was probably the stage jitters that caused the mistake, but reason fixed it moments later. She had no reason to be scared of Nukpana, he'd been nice to her so far! She managed a smile back, before taking the hat to put it on her own head again.
"I call upon the powers of Carols!" One arm shakily lifted to hold up a reversed hand, one that had a strange little ring on one of the fingers. There, she paused for a moment.
...Oh Jack, that wasn't right, was it?! GAH SHE'D SWITCHED LINES ohjackohjack hopefully the summoning thing would still work! She could have doomed them all back to Christmastown for all she knew! Anyone who knew Amrita could tell she had gotten something wrong; hell, anyone could probably see that she'd messed up somehow...that look of mild distress was evident on her face.
Somehow, the hat made it back to Maritess' head.

((SPECTATOR POST))
Israfel had a camera out. Israfel had a t-shirt on. Israfel had a pin in his hair. He had a patch on his camera bag. He had S+N written on his face. Israfel looked like he was going to a bruteball game and not a school play. But there he sat, Decked up. For what you might ask? For the school sponsored Shehkpana. That was, Official Skullface on Skullface Akshuns. Israfel had even made a flag but apparently it was rude to start waving it around mid play. So he'd been forced to leave it in his dorm room. Wiggling happily in his seat the Siren did his best to keep his chirps of joy at a minimum. "No Riley. They are perfect." He looked at 'Jack' and 'Sally' on stage and sighed. "Perfect for each other." Picking up his camera at Nuk-Sally's request for a kiss, clicks of the camera rolled as 'Shack' socked 'Nally'. Oh the names Israfel was making for the couple! "They are so cute, domestic violence aside. Oh Riley." Blue eyes glittered at the mind flayer. "Someday do you think we'll have our own ghoul or boil? Well I know you will, what with that epic mount and the doctor and all" Israfel winked, going back to shooting photos, hoping to capture skullface action on film.
He was a shipper of ships. And now, one of his favorites was being played out before him. Literally.
