Journal Entry 1
Dec. 26th, 2010

Yesterday was Christmas, I spent it alone. B(

W- whatever it's just a stupid holiday, I don't care! I never got what I wanted for Christmas anyway. Who even celebrates Christmas anymore? Come on!

I think I'm gonna go shopping for sweets later, because I'm hungry. No one can tell me what I have to eat, so I'll have a big chocolate cake for dinner! I can do that you know, because my metabolism is like so cool like that. I don't even have to work out, I'm just BORN THAT WAY.

You jealous, journal? Yeah I know you are.

Damn it's cold outside, I need a thicker jacket...

Journal Entry 2
Dec. 27th, 2010

So yesterday when I was going to buy my cake this guy was all "Whoa what are you getting a cake for?" and I WANTED to be like "Mind your own business" but I told him it was for dinner. This guy was all "Oh my god that's so laaaame here have some of my food" and we, like, shared this stuff. I wasn't gonna do it at first, like I was gonna walk away, but his food smelled super good. I was all "What the hell why not?"

The drink was spicy but it was bitter too, so I didn't drink a lot of it, it was like this chocolatey thing and it was really warm. He had this chicken stuff too, it smelled great and was covered in sauce, I ate all of that. It was really spicy!

The guy didn't seem mad that I ate it all, he actually seemed pretty happy. I bet he was a pervert.

We sat and talked for a while too while we ate, it was okay. He said his name was Lawrence and he was back in town for blah blah blah. He's like a trainer or something. When he fiiiinally got done talking he asked some stuff about me, but I didn't really feel like talking so I didn't say much. It's not like I knew the guy so why was he getting all friendly on me?

He had to go after we got done eating but he asked if I wanted to go with him, I was like "Psh no you perv" so he kind of smiled and waved and said goodbye and I was all "Yeah whatever thanks for the food weirdo."

Oh, yeah! And he left me these little dessert things before he left, they're filled with vanilla cream and taste soooo good. I still have one left, I'm gonna save it I think.

But yeah. I guess he was sort of nice.

01 . 02

Lawrence wasn’t ever one for inviting strangers into his house. Yes, he had a big heart and liked to be kind, he had no problem at all with talking to strangers or sharing things with them, he was a big believer in karma. But, that kindness always only went so far. Strangers were still strangers. When he’d heard the weather alert and the thought had crossed his mind, he couldn’t say what made him want to make the exception for that kid he’d just met. But maybe that was why he wanted to make the exception.

“He’s just a child.” He told himself over and over, it was the only reason he could find and he thought if he said it enough, maybe it would make more sense in his mind, “He’s a child without a home, and he’s going to get buried in snow.”

An eternity seemed to pass as he battled himself with the idea before he’d decided to say ******** it and go, quickly rushing to the door and throwing on his coat and the first pair of shoes he could find. The longer he paced around at home meant the harder it was going to be to find Rai and try to somehow convince him coming home with him was a good idea. God, how was that going to go over? Probably not well, Lawrence could already hear it in his head.
In his hurry it hadn’t taken him long to find his way to the park, the last place he’d been with Rai. Why he’d decided to go there first he couldn’t say, probably because it was just the last place they’d been together. His nose was cold, enough to make his head hurt, and his shoes were soaked with snowy slush that had been pushed around enough to cause it to become slush. He was freezing. This was a poorly-executed idea already, as if he didn’t know that. Lawrence shuffled side to side, not sure where to go now but not wanting to stay where he was.

“Crap…” his breath hung in the air as he mumbled, “Where would he be?..”

Nothing said the kid would still be hanging around the park, but it was the only idea Lawrence had. They hadn’t talked for very long, he hardly knew Rai, so how was he going to predict where to find him? Maybe he should just give up on the idea, he thought, maybe the kid had found somewhere to get out of the cold and was—

“What the hell, watch?!”

Oh, well, there was that, wasn’t there?

“Tell the damn time!”

It must have been a stroke of luck.

Lawrence walked quickly towards the familiar shouting, finding Rai not too far away. He was shivering and messing with his watch, completely frustrated with it. Somehow it exhausted Lawrence to see, this kid must be a handful…

Lawrence walked up next to him, his arms wrapped tightly around himself to try and keep warm. “Hey.” Somehow Rai didn’t notice him, too enthralled in messing with his watch. He spoke a little louder, “Hey!”

His ears stood up and, with genuine surprise, he turned and blinked at Lawrence. His expression soured and he returned to his watch, “Oh, you again. What?”

An unsure look settled on Lawrence’s face, for a moment he became unsure of what to say. He turned his head, “It’s starting to get pretty cold, don’t you think?” Rai made a noise in response, obviously not paying too much attention, Lawrence continued, “Are you planning on just staying out here to freeze? What are you going to do if it gets colder?”

Finally Rai seemed to give him some recognition, though it wasn’t what he had expected. He frowned up at him, ears bent back, “So what if it gets colder? I’ll be fine.” Rai’s eyes narrowed, “… What, what’re you trying to say about it?”

The air around them had grown totally uncomfortable, this conversation wasn’t going well. “What I’m saying is that… that-“ the words dried up in his mouth, how would he explain it? “Well, I’m worried, is what I’m trying to say.”

“Worried.” The word was repeated back to him bluntly, “You don’t even know me.”

“I- I know that, I know it seems weird but, you know, you’re just a kid so—“

“I’m not a kid!” sparks jolted from Rai’s cheeks as his body stiffened, “Gimme a break! You’re just some crazy pervert, leave me alone!”

Rai turned on his heel and began to run, and for some reason Lawrence had the urge to follow him, his feet moving on their own even though a sick feeling had risen in his stomach, one that said ‘Just go back home, this is pointless’, but the rest of his body didn’t seem to listen.

“Wait a second, Rai!”

“I said leave me alone, weirdo!”

He ran faster, disappearing behind a corner. When Lawrence reached it he was out of breath, his feet slid on the snow and made him stumble to a stop. He looked up, but Rai was already gone. Panting, breath forming little misty clouds in front of him, Lawrence stood up straight and rubbed his face, pushing his glasses up to pinch between his eyes. The tingling cold feeling he’d had early was gone, but his body still pricked. It was uncomfortable.

“Just… turn around, and go home.” He whispered to himself, “Just go.”

The weather wasn’t going to get bad yet. Besides, what good was chasing after Rai going to do? His foot took a step on its own, towards the direction the kid had taken off in, and he stood there.

His body started to get numb from the cold again, and it was starting to get dark, there wasn’t time for him to stand around and think about it.

- - - -

Rai stopped and kneeled over, catching his breath. He’d taken plenty of corners, he thought, enough to lose the weirdo. His face screwed as he panted, thinking about what happened. Lifting his body up and taking a deep breath, he let out a loud “Pah!” and watched his breath cloud up above him in the air.

“Man!” he said to himself loudly, “That guy is soooo weird!”

His hands grabbed at his hips, his body trembling slightly from the cold. The run had warmed him up a bit, but he could still feel it. After a second of staring off into the sky, he shook his head and reached into his inner coat pocket, pulling out his little pink journal and the pencil that went with it. He flipped it open quickly and began to write, looking at his watch to accurately document the day. Oh, right, he thought, and closed the journal.

"I guess I'll just write in it tomorrow..."

The cold began to get to him, and for a split second he regretted not taking Lawrence’s offer.

“Whatever!” he sneered at his own thoughts and began to walk again, “I’m fine on my own! I’m- I’m fine…”

Journal Entry 3
Dec. 30th, 2010

So like I guess it's New Years Eve tomorrow, and I'll be spending that alone too. I didn't make plans, not that I really could, I don't know anyone around here.

Whatever!

I don't know what I'll do today, my watch stopped working so I guess I have to fix it. At first I thought "well I can get a new one" but then I thought "What? That'd be sooo expensive!" and since I'm ultra smart I'll be able to fix it easily. Psh, there's like nothing I can't do.

... Oh yeah! The other day I saw that guy again, we didn't talk though, he was just sort of around where I was. I wonder if he's stalking me. That guy is a creep. Whatever, he'll get bored and move on, I mean it's happened before so what do I have to worry about?

Huh, that kind of made me feel sad. Maybe I'll go get something to eat before I work on my watch...

This stupid coat is too flimsy.

I've gotta find someplace to get out of this, I'm getting all wet.

It's so hard to write, my fingers are so numb...

Dec. 30th, 2010

Sometime late at night...

The snow had started to fall the night before, some time after Lawrence had come home from his 'adventure'. It had been a sudden storm, starting without much warning, and it wasn't even at it's worst yet. With each passing minute the snow seemed to fall heavier, it wasn't going to be long before the storm completely kicked in, full of icy rage and snowy hell. Lawrence watched out his window, a cup of coffee in hand, as the obstacle built up on the roads.

"s**t..." he took a drink, he still had to go to work in that.

But that wasn't his real concern. Glancing up from his cup he frowned. No matter how hard he tried, he still couldn't get Rai off his mind. He'd been thinking about him since he'd come home the other day. In fact, he had a hard time sleeping because of it; deciding to just turn around and go home, millions of "what if's" ran through his brain the entire night.

"I'm becoming a stalker..."

He sighed, his breath fogging up the window.

"I said leave me alone, weirdo!"

"Yeah, maybe." he took another drink from his coffee.

The wind blew harder, enough to make the window shake and startle Lawrence. He blinked and stared outside, not doing anything for a long pause.

"I need to..." his mouth muttered on it's own, "go and... find him."

He blinked again, as if the words had just registered in his head. Yeah, he needed to go and find him. No, he should have done that the other day, it should have been top priority to get him, and he'd given up. Maybe it made him a stalker, but he couldn't get comfortable with the idea Rai was out there, somewhere, freezing to death. Who cares about a reason, it was the right thing to do. That's all that mattered.

His determination grew. He set down his cup and went to the door, putting on his heavy coat and scarf, and a decent pair of boots.

- - -

"F- f--" he couldn't even curse, he was so cold already. When had it started to snow like this?

Rai had taken shelter between two buildings, it wasn't much protection from the wind and snow, but it was something and the only thing he could think of. It was when the weather got like this he wondered how he'd managed before, and how much he wished 'before' could be right now. That's how he'd gotten by, before had never been this bad. In fact, this was probably the worst he's had to deal with, it was ridiculously cold out. This wasn't his weather. He leaned his body against the brick of the building, tucking his face in and curling his arms around himself, trying desperately to heat his body up with his breath. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't stop shivering, it was starting to get on his nerves.

If he died here, that would be pretty ******** lame. That's what he thought, anyway. What a way to die. For a minute in his mind, he accepted it and waited for it to happen.

Of course, then the fear set in. He didn't want to die cold and alone, hell he didn't want to die. But what was he going to do? There had to be somewhere he could go, that's all it took to prompt him to move, shielding his eyes from the stinging cold of the wind as he turned into it and began to walk. It was too hard to see where he was going, but it didn't matter about the direction, he didn't have a destination in mind anyway, so long as he was getting somewhere that's all that mattered.

With every step his feet seemed to get more and more numb, and the numbness slowly creeped up into the rest of his body. His nose, fingers, ears, they all hurt from the stinging cold. It already felt like he had been walking for forever, going in circles through the frosty levels of hell. How long had it been?

"K- k- keep--" keep going, he couldn't even say it, his lips were so cold and chapped it hurt to try and form words.

Where was he heading, god he couldn't even see his hand in front of his face, let alone the roads or any other kind of landmark.

That scared feeling grew in his stomach, he really was going to die here, or something like that. Alone.

Rai yelped when he took a step and stumbled, trying desperately to catch himself but only managing to trip more. He couldn't catch his balance and toppled over into the snow. When he slammed his hand down to brace his fall he didn't feel the impact at all, but he finally had the chance to notice how violently he was shivering. Grunting in frustration and squinting to keep snow from flying into his eyes he pulled his hand out of the snow and shook it, trying to shake away the shivering, too. For some reason he couldn't understand, he couldn't find the energy to stand up and didn't want to.

That must have meant this was it. Where had he even collapsed at? Please let it be his luck it was in front of an open door to a nice warm house.

His mind went black and his body went limp, for the few seconds he was still conscious he tried to brace himself for impact with the ground, but instead hit something softer and warm.

He was out.

- - -

Stupid luck, that was stupid luck. Or fate maybe, if you wanted to believe in that sort of thing. Lawrence did seem to find Rai fairly easily. Maybe it was just this kid's lucky day. Whatever it was, it ridiculously relieved him.

He had been running, having tried two different blocks before coming across Rai on his knees in the snow. Thank god he didn't seem to wander far. He'd managed to get to him before he collapsed to the ground, sliding over and catching him against his body. What was this kid thinking? He was actually out in this bad weather, had he really not tried to keep out of it at all?Did he only have one pair of clothes, wasn't he wearing this outfit the day before too?

There wasn't any time to think about it, he was letting himself get side-tracked; his lips were blue and he was passed out, Lawrence had no idea how long Rai had been out in the snow- probably the whole time- but it was long enough to really mess him up. That was his amateur diagnosis. Lawrence could feel himself freezing up too, and what good would this 'rescue mission' be if the rescuer passed out too?

Lawrence moved quickly, unzipping his heavy coat and slipping it off of one arm. He scooped Rai up and on to his back, doing his best to keep the coat over him in his rush. He slipped the sleeve back on and stood, one arm under Rai and the other working to zip his coat back up. It was hard to fit the two of them in his coat, and damn near impossible to zip it back up, but it would at least keep Rai out of the cold and close to his body heat, until they got back to his house that's all he could do. He walked quickly, developing into a run when he gave up on the zipper half-way to use both arms in supporting Rai.

The trek home was much easier for some reason. Maybe, he thought to himself when he'd reached the door to his house, it was because now Lawrence was reassured. This ridiculous ordeal was over with.

He set him down on his bed gently, stretching out his back now that the weight was off. Getting the two of them up the stairs made Lawrence promise himself to never get fat. That had to of been what it was like. He took his glasses off to wipe them and looked over Rai, he didn't look very blue anymore and his breathing was fine. It made him sigh in relief.

"I should be careful anyway." he could still have gone hypothermic, even if he looked fine.

Carefully Lawrence removed Rai's clothing, in his mind he could see the kid waking up halfway through the endeavor and pitching a fit, calling him a pervert and a stalker. It really looked that way right now, didn't it. The thought actually made him hesitate and grimace. He went to a dresser and dug out a pair of pajamas, they were yellow with a mouse design on the front, it was almost hilariously appropriate. They would be big, but it would have to do.

He dressed him again and covered him up, that would do for now. Lawrence couldn't see any reason to do anything else, he'd just have to keep an eye on him overnight and for the next few days.

How exhausting. He sighed and flopped down, sitting next to Rai and looking at him for a while, thinking.

"You're such a dumb kid." was all he could say, rubbing his forehead, "Staying out in that bad weather like that. Now look at you... you're lucky I found you. Should have come with me in the first place."

Glancing to the side he saw Rai's coat, he grabbed it and pulled it over to his lap, causing Rai's notebook to tumble out of the inside pocket and on to the floor. He blinked, reaching down and picking it up. It was pink, that was kind of cute.

"I should leave him a note..." Lawrence thought out loud, looking back at Rai, "He won't mind if I use his paper, I'm sure."

Dear Rai,

Let me apologize, I've heard it's in bad taste to read or write in someone else's journal, but I couldn't help my curiosity, also I feel like if I do then maybe when you wake up, you'll know what happened and I won't have to explain. I'm not sure if I'll be home or not when you wake up, so I thought leaving you a note just in case would help you to not panic.

There was a horrible storm the other night, the news called it a snow advisory but that was a terrible understatement. I hope you don't think I'm creepy for coming to look for you, I was just worried about how you were going to do in the weather. I'm glad I worried, you almost went into hypothermia. I managed to find you just in time.

Try not to do too much when you wake up, alright? Please promise you'll stay here at my house and relax. Your clothes are being washed right now, they smelled disgusting and were soaking wet. I know you won't mind.

From today on, you're going to be under my care. I... wouldn't normally say something like, at all, that but we don't have much of a choice. If you look outside at the snow, you'll see what I mean and understand.

Also, your watch was broken when I picked you up, I think someone must have stepped on it or maybe you tried smashing it against a tree. I put it in a box with all the parts I could find, but it might be beyond repair.

-------------Lawrence

PS. I am most certainly not a pervert.

And, later still...

When Rai woke up, he was dazed and confused. The first thing he felt was the bed underneath him, but the fact he was in it seemed to take longer for him to realize. Startled he shot up, his head throbbing for a moment from moving too fast, and looked around the room. Where was he? And who the hell’s clothes were these? He looked at his sleeve and mouthed the words ‘what the ********’ to himself, pushing away the covers so he could properly inspect them. Out of curiosity he sniffed the sleeve; it smelled just like the rest of the house. At least it didn’t smell dirty. But, he made a face at it anyway and recoiled, looking around the room again.

“What jerk thought it would be funny to put me in mouse pajamas…”

Actually, he thought, what jerk got him naked to put him in mouse pajamas?

Out of the corner of his eye he caught a glimpse of his journal on the nightstand next to him, but on top of it looked like a page had been ripped out. He looked at it for a while before picking it up.

“A note..?” he cocked a brow, reading it carefully. Frowning he flopped his hands into his lap, clutching the note tightly, and glanced over at the door, “That guy.”

The note was tossed into the air, along with the blankets on the bed, as he flung himself out of bed and ran towards the window in the bedroom. Pressing himself against the glass he tried to get a good look outside; snow, everything was covered in snow. It looked deep, and by the way the window felt- causing Rai to recoil after he’d gotten his look- it was freezing.

“Alright…” he said slowly, turning to look back at the door, “Well. Why not, gets me out of that doesn’t it?”

It was a game he was willing to go along with.

Frantically he searched around the room, pulling out every drawer until he found exactly what he was looking for: sticky notes. He scrawled on one, went to the door, cracked it open and peeked around. There was a hallway and what looked like stairs at the end of it, so it was impossible to tell if anyone else was home. Oh well he thought as his arm slipped out and he smacked the note onto the door, slamming it shut. When he looked down at the handle he noticed a turn lock and smiled, flicking it to the lock position before striding back to the bed, flopping down with his arms behind his head and his legs crossed.

“Yep. This’s alright for now.”

Dec. 31st, 2010

The snow advisory was still in effect, the weatherman said as he went on with his forecast for the week. Of course it was, just look outside. Thank god it was his holiday weekend; Lawrence knew he’d have to enjoy that while it lasted. After the New Year, he would have to trudge to work, he was lucky he didn’t have to right now. He rolled his eyes and took another drink of coffee, then glanced at the clock. It was getting closer and closer to midnight, and the countdown to the New Year was going to start soon.

“At least I’m not spending it alone.” he snorted, turning around on the couch to look at the staircase, “Come to think of it, I should go check on him…”

Setting down his cup he got up and went upstairs, going to the end of the hallway to his bedroom and trying the handle. To his surprise, it was locked. That’s odd, Lawrence thought looking completely confused, he never locked his bedroom door, even if he was in it. It occurred to him that it could have only been Rai, and for a moment he was relieved. He’d woken up, this was great!

“Rai..?” he went to knock on the door and finally noticed the pink sticky note, reading it carefully. The handwriting was terrible, but after going through his journal Lawrence had gotten well enough at deciphering it.

“Rai,” he frowned at the door and knocked anyway, to get his attention, “come on now, open the door. I’m not going to hurt you.”

“Sorry, Rai isn’t in right now.” the voice on the other side said arrogantly, Lawrence just imagined him laying on the bed painting his nails and talking on the phone, “But if you slip a note under the door he’ll get back to you.”

“I’m not going to play this game with you in my house.” he snorted, trying the handle again.

“Sooooorry~” he sang, “You have to leave a note~”

“This is absolutely ridiculous- fine, fine. Can I have something to write on and with, then?”

As if it were perfectly timed, from under the door slid a blue notepad and a pencil. Quickly Lawrence wrote on it and slid the note back under the door, waiting impatiently for a response.

“Rai, let me in! I’m not doing this with you!” he yelled, crumpling the newest yellow note in his hand, “Why did you lock the door?”

“Because you’re a crazy kidnapper!” Rai called, “You probably want to rape me!”

“You’re being absurd!” his voice cracked from the thought of the allegation.

“Shut up!” the demand in his voice was firm, “The door will unlock when I feel like it! So go get me some food and some pajamas!”

Good god, Lawrence thought as he removed his glasses and rubbed his face in frustration. Was this how his kindness was going to be repaid? Who was testing him and why? The kid was sort of cute, he thought maybe his attitude would match, but that was asking a lot wasn’t it. His hand slid down enough so his eyes could peek over it and at the door, a dull stare trying to drill holes through the wood and into the head of the child behind it.

“I’ll make you dinner,” he began, “but if you want it, you have to come out. I’m not bringing it to you.” He wasn’t going to indulge in this game, is what he was trying to say. With that, he went back down stairs, deciding no further discussion was needed.

Rai listened as Lawrence’s footsteps got farther away; he sat on the bed with his legs and arms crossed, huffing and cheeks sparking.

“What a jerk.” he said to himself, reaching for his journal and flipping it open, “At least I got a meal out of him, he better not poison it…”

Yeah like that.

He like totally followed me and stuff and I was like "Hey perv go away!" and I swung at him, but he was like too big and powerful to fight off and he got me in this choke-hold and I passed out and woke up here. He took my clothes off, he took them off! And put me in his pajamas! Isn't that weird?! And he was all 'I read your jouuuuurnallll and you're going to live with me foreeeever!"

Freak!

But you know what? He seems totally willing to do whatever I want, so I figure "Hey, it's shitty outside, so why not go along with this ride until the weather clears up?" It's a pretty sweet deal.

And I guess if he tries anything weird I'll just call the cops. No I could totally fight him off I bet, he just got lucky the other night.

You know though... his clothes kind of smell good. Like, I dunno, familiar smelling or something.

Since Lawrence had gone down stairs, the two of them had kept up conversation by yelling at each other from their respective posts; Rai from up in the bedroom, and Lawrence from down in the kitchen. Rai had slid out of the bed and took to sitting by the cracked open door, afraid to come out of the room even though Lawrence assured him everything would be alright.

“What are you cooking?” he called, “I want curry!”

“I don’t have anything to make that!” that made Rai frown.

“Then go buy the stuff to make it!”

“Did you even look outside? I’m not going out in that just to make you what you want.”

Well that was bullshit, he rolled his eyes “So what are you making instead?”

“If you come downstairs, you’ll see for yourself.”

And that wasn’t fair, he thought. But he couldn’t fight his curiosity, it was starting to make him fidget as he sat there pouting by the door. After a minute or two of debating in his head, he slowly pushed the door open a little more and crawled out of the room on all fours, creeping his way to the top of the stairs. He sat down, holding on to the bars of the side railing and peeking through them, not being able to see much other than some of the living room and the beginning of what he could guess was the kitchen. Whatever it was he could smell was amazing, it must have been a cake. All he could tell was it smelled sweet and chocolatey.

He didn't say anything for a long time, instead he just sat there and picked a nail at one of the railing's bars. Something had been on the back of his mind since he'd woken up, and only now had he actually started to wonder about it. He waited until he could gather the courage to talk.

“Hey…” it was nice not having to shout so loud now that he was closer, “Why’d you… come and get me?”

There was a small pause as Rai watched Lawrence peek out from the kitchen at him briefly, the surprise and then pleasure at seeing Rai had left the room was visible on his face, even from the distance he was at.

“So you don’t think I’m a pervert anymore?”

“I still do,” that was unsatisfying to hear, “but I thought about it and I guess it, like… seems like a lot of trouble to go to if you’re just some crazy pervert.”

“I think I already explained it before, didn’t I?” Lawrence said, almost sounding exasperated for having to explain it again, “I was worried about you. You don’t live anywhere, and you’re out in that kind of weather. It isn’t safe for a kid.”

“I’m not a-“

“I know.”

Another pause. Gathering courage, Rai scooted his butt down the first stair, and then the second, “So you were just like… ‘Oh, look at this crazy kid, he’s gonna get himself killed out here, I better bring him to my place.’?”

“Mm, basically.”

Third step, fourth step, there weren’t that many to go, but he was sliding down them so slowly there might as well have been a million left. “That still sounds stupid, why would you think something like that?”

“Maybe for the good karma,” Lawrence hummed, “or maybe because I’m a good person. I can’t really say for sure, myself.”

When he turned around he could see the tips of two black-tipped ears and a jagged yellow tail poking out from the corner of the wall, it made him snort. When he wasn’t busy being a brat, he was actually kind of cute. That was a bit of a relief.

“Do you want to sit in the kitchen?”

“Not really.” Before Lawrence could respond, he added quickly, “What are you making?”

“A cake. It’s New Years Eve you know? In an hour it’ll be 2011. I figured I’d make a cake to celebrate.” He leaned himself against the countertops by the stove, “I was planning on having a party until this weather happened, so it’ll just be you and me.”

’You and me’, those words made Rai feel a little warm on the inside, and a little gay, which caused him to make a face at himself. Timidly he put a hand down to brace himself and leaned around the corner, only enough to peek at him.

“… What kind of cake?”

“Chocolate.”

“... That’s awesome…”

Happy New Year! >8P

I guess I didn't have to spend it alone, that was pretty cool. And I totally had a cake! It was really good, like, way better than the one I wanted to get at that shitty bakery. It was all chocolatey with chocolate frosting and these candy flower decorations. Lawrence totally made it himself, I guess it was going to be for a party but then we got all snowed in so, like, that didn't work out. But he said it was cool and we'd just eat it ourselves, and we so did. I think I ate most of it. I felt kind of bad about doing that, too, so I gave him the other little vanilla cake thingy that he let me have the first time I met him. It was still good, I wrapped it up and everything. I think he really liked that.

... So I kind of take back what I said about four eyes, he's not all that bad. I don't really think he's a pervert anymore.

Well, he might be, but like... I don't think he's one of those sex-crazed perverts anymore. I don't think I'm gonna get raped.

He's okay.

Anyway, he said I could sleep in his room for now. I guess he's gonna camp out in the living room or whatever. Whatever though, I deserve the big bed because I'm totally awesome! It's been a long time since I've slept in a bed, so you know. It's awesome.

Man! Sleeping in a bed felt really great! It was really warm and soft, and the nerd's blankets smell super good so, like, it was all soothing and stuff. I had a good night's sleep for once.

... Well okay, like, kind of. I was up for a while trying to sleep. My stomach kept doing this... tossy turny thing all night. I don't really get what that was about. It's the same feeling you get when, like, how do I explain it... That feeling you get when you feel bad about something. But like... I don't feel bad, so I don't understand what that's all about.

Er, a- anyway! Lawrence totally made breakfast for us this morning! He made like these things that you fill with fruit and look kind of like an omelet, but they don't taste like one and they're super thin. It was sooo good. I guess he likes to cook, it's what he said anyway, and he said it was nice to have someone to cook for. I was all "That's gay" but really if he wants to make me food, who am I to complain?

We kind of just hung out today, he didn't have to work because of the snow so we, like, watched some movies and talked about stuff. It was an okay day. :/ I can't remember the last time I really hung out with someone like that... actually, I don't think I ever have.

Lawrence sort of feels like a... kinda like a friend. When I think of it that way, it gives me a weird sick feeling in my stomach...

Well... I'm gonna go camp out in the living room with four eyes tonight, I think.

So I guess they got all the snow off the roads the other day, and Lawrence had to go to work. He totally wasn't looking forward to it, I guess his job is like super exhausting and stuff. He's like a doctor I guess. I was like "What do you even doooo?" and he was like "I told you I'm a doctor", but I don't remember that. Whatever.

Before he left, he was all "Now you be good and stuff" and I was like "Oh my god I so will" so I have to, like, not 'cause trouble' today. Like I EVER WOULD. Psh, come on.

He told me not to leave the house, cause like the weather is super nasty out, so I'm kind of stuck here. There isn't lots to do, I guess I could watch TV.

... OH YEAH I TOTALLY NEED TO FIX MY WATCH. Mother <********> where did he put my watch!?

Okay so I totally found my watch. Dipstick put it in this box by the bed or whatever and let the pieces just fall haphazardly all over the place. What the hell! I told Clark Kent I was fixing it and he does this, some guy.

All the pieces were in the box anyway, so I guess that was good. I've never fixed a watch before but how hard can it be, seriously. It's just a watch, psh.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.........

Okay so I don't know how to fix a watch... yet.
