He found himself grinning as he joined the song again to sing the end with her. She really did know the song well, he was quite impressed. "I bet you are right." He chuckled before taking a moment to bask in the end of a wonderful moment. This was how a reunion was supposed to be really. Happy and crammed full of reminiscing. He watched as she moved about him opting to stand still. Being wasn't entirely unusual for him, he had changed an almost unbelievable amount from his childhood. Everyone had been shocked when his siblings manes and tails had all stopped growing at a normal length when his had kept going. It had finally stopped one day but it had need of constant braiding or else he would need to find someone to brush out the tangles daily. It was troublesome but what could he do?
"You know Essence," he began as she stopped before him and finished speaking, "There is not much more I can teach you. You just have...to..." His voice trailed off. It was the puppy dog eyes again. He had grown up with those eyes. It was good to see that some things really never changed even if he had been secretly hoping to never have to endure those eyes again. It was close to impossible to say 'no' to them.
His lips came together tightly and pulled back in an uncertain frown as she began to speak. It took a moment for him to realize it but she was guilting him! His eyes widened a little with the realization before he laughed a little. "Hey now, none of that!" He said playfully like he was talking to a child or a small dog. "I'm not going to stop singing any time in the near or distant future if I can at all help it. still, there is nothing more for me to teach you other than to practice and take care of your health." He bobbed his head up and down seriously. This was the best advice for a singer. "I will sing with you whenever you want but I don't have any more advice to help you improve."
It was the truth of things. He had never been the best teacher to begin with and if he tried to teach her now he imagined he would become the worst. He'd learned by feeling his way around, so-to-speak, and that was the only thing he'd be able to tell her. All together it was rather useless advice and not something he wished to share.

“If you say so, however I am going to make you regret saying that.”
She stated with a small smirk on her face. She would be sure to take him up on the offer, she enjoyed hearing him sing and she had no doubt that before long they would be doing another duet.
“I was actually passing by on my way home to see my family, after my mother took me away she came back to be with my father and brothers. Would you like to walk me back? It is not too far.”
She lives in a neighbouring field, it had more trees and in general was a lot more sheltered, she knew she would find her family there and was looking forward to seeing her birthplace. She wondered how it had changed, if it had at all. She looked at him and smiled walking ahead a little and turning around to see if he was to follow.
“I am sure we will have plenty of time to catch up, I am not planning on leaving any time soon.”
She most certainly meant that, she wanted to spend some time with her father and brothers, she had missed them all so dearly and now she had a solid relationship with her herd in the mountains she wanted to rekindle old ones here. It would have made life so much easier if they could all just live together, however she understood the trouble flutters could have living in the snow. For now she would just go back and forth since she did not want to lose her bond with anyone. Also whilst she was here she knew she could work on repairing the one between her and Vivace.
“Maybe on the way you can tell me how your own family have been.”
Essence had never met his relatives she might have seen them once or twice but knew very little about them. She knew their names, he always talked about them so fondly and she always liked to ask how they were. If because of nothing else, it was the polite thing to do.

Vivace cast her a sly look. "Does that mean you've already decided to be annoying after all?" He asked with the barest hints of a smirk on his face. It wasn't that he enjoyed teasing her, she just made it far too easy for him. Or maybe...it really was that he enjoyed it. Who knew really?
All joking aside he stretched out a little before bending his head to once again take hold of his mane and wrap it around his neck. "I would be happy to escort you, Essence." He said with a charming smile even though he was having a hard time understanding why she had to head off already. Really it seemed like they had only just said 'hello' to each other. Still, if she had prior engagements it was not his place to interfere, even if a good part of him wanted to, and she did have a point. If she wasn't planning on vanishing again then why worry? They could meet up again some other time. There was no need to try and cram everything into one meeting.
"Shall we be off?" He asked after checking that his braid wouldn't come undone. He had no idea where her family was so he waited for her to take the lead.
"Honestly, my family has been fine. Not much has changed. I have some rather...unusual...cousins now though." He hadn't spent too much time with his new relatives. There was something off about them and he felt bad for thinking such things but it was true. Even though they all seemed to try to fit in they didn't seem to quite mesh as well as others.

“You like it really”
She stated with a small smirk, he called it being annoying however she would not possible be as bad as he made out. At least she hoped not. Either way he seemed to have said it in quite a smug way so he must have been him trying to be clever more than a serious comment. She looked over at him and tilted her head about the comments he made about his new relatives.
“Unusual you say, how so? Well variety is not a bad thing; after all you are quite strange yourself.”
She joked; he was not the only one who could make a comment or two. She would love to meet them all one day however would not say so in case she was being overly clingy. She knew she could not say much, besides a very brief meeting with her mother he knew very little about her realities. However she wanted to get to know him better and see where he came from and the people who had raised him. She knew that hers where dying to meet the friend she had talked so much about.
“Yes, well right this way.”
She smiled and started to walk ahead slowly, she was in no rush and even though her father would worry if she was not back soon she was planning to draw it out as long as she could, she might even go the long way back. The truth is she just was not ready to say goodbye just yet. The more time she could spend with him the better in her books.

"Yeah? You think so?" He asked playfully tilting his head to one side to look at her. He supposed he was a little strange as far as the average creature was concerned. After all he had flecks of ice that grew on his body that never seemed to melt. His father had possessed these as well but he knew it wasn't normal for most.
He opted to not say anything further until they were already on there way. He walked at Essence's side somewhat lost in thought as he tried to think of a way to explain exactly how Parnasabari's children were unusual.
"Those kids..." He said finally sort of wishing he had never mentioned them. This meeting should have been about them, not their families. "They...don't look much like there mother we'll just put it that way." He couldn't find a nice way to say that one was growing spikes out of it's hind legs and one had ears like a cat. The third had horns like his great-grandfather, however, so it wasn't too far out of place. The others...he wondered now if they had gotten there strange looks from their dad like how Vivace had inherited the ice from his.
"Their dad...never comes around you know?" He tossed his fringe out of his face again and turned to look at the part angeni mare that he walked by. He couldn't even imagine what that was like and, truth be told, he didn't really want to. "It just happens sometimes I guess..." He frowned as he spoke then heaved a sigh and picked up his steps more so that he was prancing.
"Let's not talk about that though. You have to have some interesting stories from when you went away right?" It was better to change the subject even if it was abrupt.

“Vivace I know so; it takes a special kind of person to put up with me so long. You must have the making of a saint in your heart. Truly a inspiration to all around.”
She shook her head with a small smile on her face. He was special, at least she thought it was but not in the typical sense of the word. These days the word usually linked to things that were out of the ordinary, like the felt tip pen in a pack of pencils, you could see why it might be there however it would never fit in. This was not the case for him, he fit in quite well, he was well mannered, gentle and very handsome for the most part, no he was a whole different league of special. Like the pencil that had a gold colouring, you used it when you wanted to add something a little bit special to your artwork, even though looking over the collection it would not leap out of you when you picked it up for use a smile always seemed to creep onto your face; a smile that she could never seem to conceal when she was around him. Just like the old days.
Her passé slowed as he talked, long stands of pale green hair floating in the wind, on their own they looked almost silver but in mass the tinge of green became a lot more obvious. A slightly sadder look came to her eyes as he spoke, she could not imagine life without her father. She always was a daddy’s girl. She held many fond memories of him close to her heart; it was him that inspired her love for flight and him that picked her up whenever she fell. She truly did feel a deep sympathy for the foals, it was a true shame that they would not grow up without such a figure in their life. Even though they would not be loved any less by the family, the love of a parent is unique and irreplaceable. Personally that would destroy her, if she had to raise children without help from her partner. How abandoned would that make you feel? Maybe that is why her family is so particular about who joins their bloodline; so that families do not end up broken.
“I am sorry; I did not mean to make you feel that way. Of cause, let’s not talk about such things. However I am sure in the end everything will be okay, for what comfort it gives you.”
She nodded her head and then thought about her time away, she did have one or two stories however she did not know what to tell him, after all there were some very graphic elements that even she did not want to get into. She knew a lot about foals, she knew a lot about the birthing process and the changes that come about when someone becomes a parent. However this did not make her want to rush into a family herself, it had quite the opposite effect. She knew how much suffering could come of it, how much loneliness and pain it could cause a heart at its most fragile. For even though it was a miracle it was also a curse in cases, especially when the spirits decided the foals would not make it to take even their first breathe. Her cause was a noble one, many people could not see such a profession to be a battle but emotionally it was one. You could not help but get attached to the ones you cared for and inside it killed you to see them in pain.
“Well, it might amuse you to know I am godmother to seven foals so far. I am also the official baby sitter to my herd, however since I am the youngest I have had no need to use that title as of yet. I am sure I could go on about cute little faces and maternal scenes however I am sure you are not interested in hearing about children.”
She stated before soon becoming quiet, yes great. He was just describing his family issues about the new foals in the family and she opened her mouth and said that. Essence you are as dumb as they come at times, she knew she could not leave it at that she had to move the topic on, she walked in front of him to stop him, sticking out her tongue and then leaning a little closer, she knew just the thing! Battering her eyelashes her voice sounded in quite a cheerful manor.
“Truth or dare?”

Vivace shrugged his wings still prancing on. It hadn't really been her that had made him feel that way. "You have nothing to apologize for Essence." He said softly his eyes staring out blankly into the distance. After a short while he came to realize that his steps were coming up lower and lower until he was merely walking again. Somethings just weighed a person down more than others. He was very thankful that Essence was there to lighten the load at least a little.
He gawked at her. He'd heard little about godparents, he wasn't even entirely sure what they were, but seven was an awful lot of foals. Shoot, to Vivace two was a lot of foals and one was barely manageable. "That...that's a lot." He said praying that he wouldn't actually have to tell Essence that he didn't want to hear about all the mushy stuff. He just wasn't interested.
Things fell into yet another awkward silence between them. He thought this was going to become a reoccurring theme with them. He hadn't made the same link of foals to foals as Essence had and it left him feeling a little confused about the atmosphere. Did she want him to ask after all? He grit his teeth. He really didn't want to.
Then, with little warning, Essence had moved right in front of him to stare him down. He came to a stop and looked at her nervously for a second. Maybe he really should have asked...
And then, she stuck out her tongue, leaned in a fluttered her eyelashes like she always had as a kid. He wasn't sure if the action or the words had caught him more of guard. "Truth...truth or dare?" He asked blinking his eyes rapidly waiting for something to connect in his brain. "What...?" He asked when it finally did. "You want to play now? I thought we were supposed to be getting you home!" He was laughing lightly as he spoke.
And then he was glad that Essence was there to lighten the mood a lot. "Alright...dare."

“I am going home, I am just going home a lot slower than I first intended, I am sure we have time for one and two rounds until it is time we part ways, you are not trying to get rid of me are you?”
She asked with a small smirk, she was planning to get back, she just thought he seemed to need a little bit of cheering up and what other way to do so than play one of her favourite games as a foal. However when he said dare she was quite stuck on what to ask him to do. She looked around to try and gain some ideas and then her attention was caught by a small black goat grazing not too far away. She tilted her head as the little light bulb pinged on symbolising the fact she just had a brainwave. She looked back up at him, indicating over to the creature.
“Okay then, I dare you to wonder over there and confess to that goat that he is the most beautiful creature you have ever seen.”
She nodded her head firmly her pale eyes drifting back over to him, she could not be sensible all the time and even these jokes, no matter how childish they may seem, never grew old; the fact that they where two grown horses just made them more amusing. She wondered if he would actually do it. No matter, with that last line his brain would probably thinking of many things, however it would have moved on from the awkwardness. At least for now...
“...Your not going to chicken out are you?”
She asked with a small smirk, she did not really expect him to do it by any means she mainly wanted to see the reaction in his face at her request. Koda was quite peacefully nibbling on some grass minding his own business, Zeda was busy with her kids and when he was not bothering the mare he was indulging himself in the pleasures which grew out the ground, the truth is Koda was fat, he loved to eat and spend time on his own letting his thoughts drift up to a sky. Who wants drama in their life when you can kick back and relax? That was his way of looking at things.

"My dear Essence, I assure you I am not." He countered with a grin. "Really now..." It was too early to try and ditch her again anyway. They'd only just re-met! Duty was just one of those things he tried to keep in mind at times like these. However, if Essence thought they had time for a couple rounds of the silly game then he would take her word for it.
He quietly regretted agreeing to play when she gave him his task to accomplish. His eye might have twitched slightly but he couldn't be sure, it was such a slight movement he may have only been blinking. "To...that goat?" He asked eying the creature. His friend's silliness levels had reached an all time high. Here he had been thinking she'd just ask him to sing another song, it seemed to be a good traditional dare. For a while he did nothing but stare at the animal. The rules of the game mandated that he must do the dare or suffer the consequences but this was awkward on a new level.
He snorted when she chimed in. "Of course I'm not going to chicken out." He said tossing his head. "Observe."
Gathering himself up he marched towards the goat, glanced over his shoulder to ensure that Essence was watching, and bowed his head with a mighty flourish. "My good goat," he began, "I was just strolling across the way with that fair creature when I saw you." He straightened up and shuffled his feet nervously mimicking a love struck filly he had encountered once. "But you...you are...oh I can't say it..." He hid his muzzle under his wing for a moment before slowly pretending to regain his composure. "I think...you are the most beautiful creature I have ever seen!"
Not sure that he would be able to hold in his laughter from the prank he bowed his head quickly and ran back to Essence. "You're going to pay for that one!" He said after actually regaining himself. "Truth or dare."

Koda stared... and stared... and stared and blinked. What the heck? He thought watching the stallion wonder back to the girl. Teenagers... what are you going to do with them? He huffed tempted to call something out however he decided to let it pass and eat his meal; after all he knew guys did stupid things to make girls smile. He had seen it one million times before. Plus his dinner seemed like a much better way to occupy his time; he would probably never see the two again anyways.
“I cannot believe you actually did it!”
She mare called as she shook her head, slowly sinking into a fit of laughter. Her giggles soon died down mainly because her sides were hurting and more so she had to regain herself to finish the game. He had such a way with words; she could have not pictures it better in her head. She rose back up to look at him, every so often another small chuckle escaping her. She loved this game!
“Am I now? We shall see about that one.”
She smirked sticking out her tongue slightly and tilting her head, she would never take his threat seriously. What was the worse he could do? Maybe she was just underestimating his abilities. She thought for a moment, asking for a dare might be playing into his hands however what was the fun in playing it safe. He had made himself look like a fool for her amusement it was only right she offered herself to do the same.
“Hmm... I feel it only fair I pick dare too.”
She stated with a firm nod, battering her eyelashes as if to act cute. Maybe he would be merciful.

"A dare is a dare." He said lightly in response to her disbelief. It was good to see her laughing again. Heaviness didn't really suit her or him. He grinned at her, "Oh you will. Count on it." The tone of his voice was innocent enough but there was something decidedly threatening in his words. Perhaps not in an angry way but it was certainly mischievous to say the least.
When she said dare he grinned. His thick forelocks cast shadows over his eyes and in the end he looked like an evil lord with a weird scarf. "You should not have done that~" He sung out. "There's no taking it back now. it's too late for you~" To say that he was feeling confidant in his ability to pick something good for revenge was an understatement. He was already singing his own praises and he hadn't even picked anything for her to do yet.
"Let me see, let me see...hmmm..." He lets his eyes wander around the area as he tried to decide on what to do. They stopped on the goat. The poor creature that had done absolutely nothing to deserve this treatment. The innocent bystander turned victim.
The poor thing should have turned tail and run after Vivace had confessed.
"Your goat friend over there." He said nodding at the little black creature with a smug little smirk plastered over his features. "Your dare is to go kiss it like the two-leggers do. No explanations for it either!"

“YOU WANT ME TO- ... Fine... Watch and learn!”
She smiled; this was unbelievable her first kiss was going to be with a goat! She took in a deep breath and put on a straight face. She would not give him the pleasure of seeing her squirm a dare was a dare after all. She approached the creature. Koda saw it as her coming over to say sorry, yet it was another prank. Soon the lips of the mare met his own and his eyes widened. His face went red, however instead of it being from the kiss of a pretty girl it was pure are utter rage!
“THATS IT!”
The goat scoffed lundging forward to try and catch her with his sharp little horns. The angeni meeped and jumped back, making a mad dash towards her friend, the small animal going into a charge, for a moment she swore the thing was more like a bull than a goat! They were meant to be innocent creatures! I guess they went one step too far!
“Get back here you little! why I will show you!”
Called the goat again hot on her tail. Hey eyes met her friends as she darted past him towards the forest, turning back to call out to him.
“Vivace run he has got mad cow!”
Koda seemed to just get angrier! He was not a cow! Since the filly had made for the hills his red vision turned to her friend and despite his size he started to charge horns at the ready. I guess being connected with Zeda gave him her temper... a little more than he would like to admit.
“You messed with the wrong goat! Surly two hormonal teens can find more pleasure in each other than stressing out an old man!”
He called, one hoof stamping after the other. Essence looked back, waiting for him to catch up, they could outrun the goat, however she did not want to lose him in the panic. Truth be told even though this was all in the air the main shock was that she actually kissed the damn thing...

Go figure. Vivace hadn't actually thought that she would do it. Telling a creature you loved them was a lot easier than physical contact. It was easy to blow off words. It wasn't so easy to do the same with something like a kiss.
Whatever amazement he'd been watching with, however, quickly shifted to horror as the goat flipped out. He stared wide eyed as the little pest lunged forward trying to gouge Essence with his little horns. It didn't take Vivace long to spring into motion right after his friend darted past. "Right behind you!" He called thankful that his hair was already tucked safely around his neck.
He saw her turn to look over her shoulder at him and he shook his head running up to her side. He spread a wing over her back and encouraged her to keep moving. "Don't stop." He said just loud enough to be heard over the sound of their hooves. "I think it might have rabies." He didn't think that an old goat would actually be able to catch two young horses but there was no way he was going to stop and find out what those horns felt like.
"I think he might have a crush on you though..." He glanced at her with a small smirk on his face. "Think you can deal with that?"

“No, I do not think I could, I am sure he was only angry because he was hoping for a kiss from you not me.”
She would not allow this; even if he was just joking she refused to be known as the romance of goats. Her family will never know her first kiss was with such a animal, Zeeke would never shut up about it. She was sure Vivace would keep a secret, or she would just make sure the two NEVER met.
She meeped as she carried on until the goat was out of sight, they found themselves in the forest, silver barked trees reached up high. She had not had much experience of this place; when she was young she stuck to the fields more than anything else. I guess she forgot to check where she was going in her attempt to escape the horned creature. She slowed and looked at her friend before eying the environment some more.
“You do know where we are right?”
She asked looks like she was side tracked for now. She was not yet late getting home and was sure as long as she was back before sun down she would be fine. She backed up and stood closer to him. It was not that she was afraid, however this was new to her and it was more for comfort. He had lived here longer than she had, so he was hoping his extra experience would be enough for him to be able to direct them back towards the fields.
“Anyways, I guess it is your turn. Truth or dare?”
She asked, she was sure moving on with the game would kill some time whilst they manoeuvred there way out of the forest and back to the path.

"I wonder if the poor goat realizes that I'm a boy then..." He mused aloud. For him, the entire thing was just for shits and giggles along with mild revenge. The thought of telling others what he'd made her do had never even crossed his mind. After all it was a silly game. It wasn't like either of them ever wanted to do half the stuff they were dared to. That was the fun of it. Pushing boundaries until it got too awkward to bare any longer.
When they finally lost the goat Vivace came to a stop and surveyed the area around them. Somehow they had wandered themselves into a section of woods full of tall, thin white birch and aspen trees. Their bark reflected the light of the sun so that the almost seemed to glow of their own accord. It was a beautiful spot to be sure. However...
"Not a clue." He answered casually as he patted her with a wing before trotting over to an aspen tree to examine it. He rubbed it with his nose and sneezed when a strange powdery substance rubbed off on him. Odd. "I've never been into these parts before. I might have to come back though...it's pretty here." He backed away from the tree and turned to face Essence again. "I bet we could turn you completely white if we rubbed you against these trees."
He grinned at her clearly not bothered to be completely lost. He was sure it just happened from time to time and it had completely taken his mind off of all bad subjects. "Since I just picked dare...truth this time."
