"I don't think it's supposed to work that way," Aila warned, furrowed brow masking her deep relief that the subject of the party had been dropped. Not unlike Nyx, she didn't dabble in the realm of video games, but she was familiar enough with the general concept to know that the console itself wasn't meant to be swung around. "Pitre would probably be delighted to give you a crash course," she said, referencing her Beldum, "and I think Nyx's Drifblim is fairly versed in the field as well."

"Oh, uh... no? I mean, we played games on the farm, but we only used electricity to turn on the lights and turn the watermill when the river got low..." He was disappointed to know that these Pokemon knew more about video games than he did, especially considering the fact that everyone else on base seemed so fond of them. "Well, uh... Pitre and Newton could always help as long as Newton doesn't try to steal it." He mumbled the final bit of the sentence, but he had been in the break room enough to know Newton's reputation with video games and... other things.

If the blimp had been present, he would have been insulted! Newton never stole, he simply was entitled to anything he wanted. "I can send him over when I find him." Nyx sighed, but smiled fondly at Liam, "You know how he gets around."

Aila's hand went instinctively to the pokeball at her hip. Pitre was with her, but she hesitated to release it. The Beldum spent an awful lot of time on the internet, she feared, and, albeit willing, probably wasn't the kindest teacher. "Pitre is available whenever," she murmured, a small finger tracing circles on the surface of the sphere. "Oh, and if there's anything you want from the room, or... well... from anywhere else..." Blankets, books, food - she wasn't sure what Liam might want or if he even wanted anything, but she was certainly willing to fetch it.

Images flashed through Liam's mind: Newton floating above the TV with a controller in each of his four hands, Newton phasing through a floor in the girl's dormitories, and Newton following unsuspecting female Rockets about the base.
"Yeah, I know what you mean," he replied to Nyx, no hint of a smile on his face. "And, well... I mean, if you wanted to Aila, I guess I could use my... uh... you know..."
He leaned forward and lowered his voice, though he was certain Miss Nyx would hear anyway, "One or two of the Pokedolls? They... keep me company." He hoped Aila wouldn't laugh at him. He had removed them from their under-bed prison quite a while ago, but she hadn't actually commented on them. Not that she didn't have a few of her own, as well. He suspected most of the Rockets did, hidden away somewhere or another.

Nyx had a small collection of pokedolls of her own, displayed somewhat proudly around her room, so if she heard Liam's request to Aila, she didn't make any indication. "I have to get back to work soon," She smiled apologetically at the boy. "But I'll send Newton over with some cookies later, alright?"

"Sure, I can bring them by later," she said with a small nod. She'd noticed the things when they suddenly appeared alongside Liam's belongings but thought little of them. At the end of the day, stripped of rank and occupation, he was a kid, and kids were entitled to a few toys.
She turned her gaze briefly to Nyx as the woman spoke. She looked back to Liam momentarily, then to her fidgeting hands. She had promised an explanation, but she questioned whether or not Liam needed to bothered with such a depressing story when he was injured...

Cookies and Newton's company brought some color to Liam's face and he nodded emphatically. "Yes ma'am, Miss Nyx!" He would have saluted or bowed, but both were somewhat out of his repertoire for the time being, so he simply smiled and continued to nod. He was going to be sad to see her go, but it seemed life didn't really stop when he was injured.
"And what about you, Aila?" he asked, turning to her as best as he could. "I mean, right now, not about the other thing."

Nyx waved at Liam as she slipped out of the door, needing to get back to the labs for a meeting. At least she wasn't leaving him alone, since Aila seemed to be staying around for a bit.

"I can stay, if you don't mind my company." She had by and large completed her duties for the day and had little ahead of her apart from studying and, perhaps, a little training. "I can't promise that I'll be much entertainment, but consider me a captive audience." Well, the immobilized Liam filled that role much more neatly, but it made sense in her head at least. She regarded Nyx with a slight nod as the scientist departed.

"Well... really... I'm sort of, you know... tired? I-I-I mean! It's ok if you wanna, but I think these, uh... meds are kicking in..." He was tired, after all and somehow this had all worn him out. He yawned (half for effect and half sincere) before giving her his best puppy dog eyes.
"I promise I'll be back to the room soon..." and everything went fuzzy from the meds and his head slumped on his pillow.
