And then Riyo realized her folly. The smart thing would've been to lie about what she was going to do, saying instead that she needed to go and study for finals and then get completely smashed. But she had done the stupid thing. She'd been honest.
Stopping in her tracks, she silently cursed herself for that stupid decision. In no way, shape, or form did the idea of Poke practically babysitting her sound appealing. Riyo didn't want somebody to tell her what she should or shouldn't be doing at that moment. Alright. Time to think quick.
"You know what. I changed my mind." This was going to tear her up on the inside. "I think I will go inside for awhile." At least long enough to ditch the girl so she could go wallow in a puddle of self-pity and Grey Goose.
Crossing the street carefully, her fists balled up in her pockets. Riyo couldn't believe she was back at this hotel... Or that she was putting herself through this.

There still wasn't any sign of Riyo as far as Blade could tell. Perhaps she wasn't going to be coming? If that was the case, then he was pretty much just wasting his time here. With a sigh, he waited a little longer, though he was thinking of leaving pretty soon.
Beaming at Mitsu, Bent-Tail nodded, glad to see that she liked the gift he had for her.
The hug caught Shun off guard for the moment, but he brought up a hand to lightly pat her on the back before she pulled away. Hugs were still something he was very much not used to but he didn't mind them all too much coming from Mitsu. Bent-Tail on the other hand, returned the hug rather warmly.
"You're welcome," Shun replied to her, noting the smile she wore now, "Is... there anything you'd like to do over break?"
At that moment, he could have sworn he sensed some sort of strong killing intent, though not necessarily directed at him. Glancing around, he didn't see anything. Maybe it was his imagination.

As easy as her smile seemed to come it faded with Shun's words. "I hadn't really planned on anything. Everyone is going to be gone for the holidays except for Riyo." Blade would be around too but he really didn't talk to her. Hakim and some of the teachers were going to keep an eye on them but for the most part they would be alone.
"I...better get Blade his box before I forget," She forced a smile as she reached into her pocket to retrieve the item in question. "I'll be right back."
Moving through the crowd of students Mitsu searched for Blade uncertain where she might find him. At first she tried by the tables of food and over by the dance floor but she finally spotted him off to the side by a wall. Wondering why he was so isolated she headed on over.
"H..hey," She said sheepishly as she approached. "Merry Christmas." Might as well give him the proper holiday greeting. "I was told to give you something." Holding out the box she tried to smile a little more warmly but it still looked forced. "It's from, Morgan. My manager."

Having caught up, poke heard riyo's latest declaration of what she would do, and now she felt better. As much as she probably wouldn't enjoy it, she would at least be safe. "Good" poke replied, arms folded as she watched the girl approach the hotel. She wondered if she should keep a eye on her for the remainder of the night encase she wandered off, but she doubted she would do something like that

Rolling her eyes as her back was turned to Poke, Riyo grumbled at the fact that her plans had been foiled. The 'Good' only pissed her off more.
For a moment, she paused at the doors. It was hard to believe this was happening. Of all the hotels in the area, they had to pick this one. That was her luck, though.
Deep breaths. Deep breaths. Finally she managed to push out the courage and enter, doing her best not to pay attention to the details... Lest she make a scene and cry.
When she finally got into the convention room, her eyes darted around, looking for the familiar faces she longed for to take her out of the situation.
And it just so happened they were clustered together in one area. Without a word, she moved to Blade and Mitsu's area, eyes being the only factor that showed how nervous she was.

Shun was about to say something in response to Mitsu, but she had already gone off to hunt down Blade to deliver the gift. Shaking his head to himself, he went on to follow, though kept his distance. He saw no need to approach the thief, so he just waited for Mitsu to be done there.
It took Blade a moment to realize that someone was approaching him and not just walking in his general direction. Glancing up to focus on who it was, he was a little surprised to see Mitsu coming towards him. The lost look in his eyes was briefly mixed in with confusion, which only grew stronger as she presented a red box that was from the Cafe Manager.
"Ah hey... Merry Christmas," he said while staring at the gift and slowly taking it. He had only met Morgan once and it was a brief encounter so he had to wonder why on earth he would want to give him anything. The heart shape tag had him a little wary as well. Between that and the fact that he had actually received something had him staring at the wrapped box for a few moments awkwardly.
"Tell him thanks?" he added while slowly beginning to open it. For a moment, his eyes widened as he looked what was inside. There was a hint of red in his face now. If it wasn't awkward before, it certainly was awkward now, "Oh... nice... m-mushroom shaped chocolates.... Th-they are supposed to be mushrooms... right?"
Spotting more movement from the corner of his eyes, he quickly covered up the awkward box of chocolates and saw it was Riyo. Briefly, his hopes raised, but he soon remembered that Mitsu was standing right next to him. Most likely she had come because of her roommate. But regardless, it was nice to see her here and he could at least give her the gift.

"Uuh..mushrooms?" Mitsu didn't know what was in the box, Morgan had made her promise not to open it herself. Too curious for her own good she peeked around the lid her eyes widening as well. As the twinge of red touched her cheeks she brought up a hand to cover her mouth. "I...." She didn't know what to say. "Y...yeah....mushrooms." It was a nice delusion to uphold.
Seeing Blade look up she turned to see who had caught his attention and saw Riyo approaching. The girl looked nervous but Mitsu wasn't quite sure why. Maybe it was just the party environment. It wasn't like the last school event they went to had ended all that well.
"H..hello Riyo." Mitsu tried to smile, hoping to ease the girl a little. "Merry Christmas." At least she still had Riyo to spend the holidays with at school. It made the fact that she would be staying here a little less lonely feeling.

"Yeah... Um, Merry Christmas." Riyo repeated to Mitsu as she stopped in front of the two, her face and body language practically screaming she didn't want to be there.
"Hey Blade." Riyo looked to the thief with an awkward smile, knowing full well he enjoyed Christmas as much as her. Why was he here? She didn't know. It could've just been that the free food enticed him.
Nevertheless, she had something for him. But thinking about what she'd gotten him now made her feel stupid. No way he'd like it... "Um.." hand wrapping around the thing she had in her pocket, she looked away nervously. "I know neither of us really celebrates Christmas, but I got you a little something." About to pull it out of her pocket, she hesitated. "It's... Not much... And it won't hurt my feelings if you don't like it." Trying to make excuses before she did anything wrong. Finally revealing what she'd been hiding, there was a stuffed red dragon in her hand. It was... Adorable... And that's what caught her eye when she first saw it.
Only now did she realize her folly... She even adorned it with a little bow, which made it cuter if possible. "I'd tried to wrap it... But I'd never wrapped anything before and... It didn't go well."

Glad that Mitsu had agreed with him, Blade decided that the chocolates were mushroom shaped. Yes. Though even with that in mind he wasn't sure if he really wanted to eat them no matter how tasty they turned out to be. The fact that it had come from Morgen... really did not make things all that much better.
With his attention on Riyo now, he smiled faintly and waved. Smile or not, he did not look very happy still. And she seemed like she was as thrilled to be here as he was.
"Hey Riyo," he returned the greeting before tilting his head as she suddenly looked really nervous. His dark red eyes soon widened as she said she had gotten something for him. For a moment he thought he had somehow misheard, but she continued on and sure enough she had presented a little stuffed dragon. It was a cute little thing; not really something he would normally pick up on his own, but that didn't matter. Riyo had actually thought of him.
Eyes softening, he carefully took the gift and his smile widened a little more.
"It's fine Riyo," he said softly while looking back up at her, "I.. pretty much never get anything, so this means a lot to me."
Not wanting to forget, he reached into his own pocket and held out something to her.
"I... actually wanted to get you something to in fact. It might not be much but.. here," he said, unknowingly using very similar words to the note he had tagged in her locker. In his hand appeared to be a little cute cartoony black cat with red eyes flat figurine. Upon closer inspection the head would seem to be able to be removed and sure enough, it was a flash drive.

Standing back after Riyo approached Mitsu watched her and Blade converse shortly and exchange gifts. She was glad to see that the feline had found someone else to relate to, it might make this rough time they were having a little easier. Since it seemed they were busy with their gifts Mitsu didn't want to interrupt. Instead she backed away a couple of steps to turn and leave, her smile fading as soon as her face was out of sight. It was hard to keep up the happy facade. In fact, she felt like she needed some fresh air.
Not even looking to see that Shun had followed her over, Mitsu threw on her coat and headed for the door. Pulling the coat tightly around her she headed down the hallway of the hotel back to the front entrance, her eyes trained to the floor as her head was lost in thought. Normally she was able to just smile and get over a rut of bad luck...but far too much had happened it seemed.

Desmond had been watching Mitsu silently and trying his damnedest to be inconspicuous while doing it. So when she finally moved away from her friends, he silently snuck away from the party to meet her.
"Mitsu.." He called softly as they left the convention room, trying to get her attention.
Riyo couldn't help but smile a little as Blade took the dragon happily. It was the first gift she'd ever picked out for somebody, so knowing it was a success made her pleased with the decision.
Though, she couldn't help but be surprised as the boy produced his own gift to her.
The words he'd chosen seemed to ring a bell in her mind, though she didn't let on. Instead, her eyes lit up at the adorable figurine, almost immediately taking it from his hand to look it over. "It's... So cute..." She tried not to show too much of her girly side at that moment, not wanting everybody to know her weakness was adorable things.
Looking back at Blade, Riyo smiled warmly for the first time in a long time, even though it was short-lived. "Thank you Blade. For everything." What did everything entail? She wouldn't say. But he really did go out of his way to be nice to her, and as frustrated as it made her sometimes, it was something she needed (though would never admit to).

Seeing Mitsu go off, Shun was about to follow but something else was brought to his attention rather quickly.
"Ooooh Raaain-Kun! Look above you desu desu!!" called out a voice he could have sworn he had heard somewhere before but couldn't think of who it was. Glancing up, his eyes widened as he saw the wretched plant that was mistletoe. It was attached to a string on a pole that some girl was holding onto.
"Come give me a kiiiisss desu!" she chirped while approaching with puckered lips.
"I'm not Rain, god dammit! And get the ******** away from me!" he growled while quickly evading her attempt. Since Mitsu was leaving, he figured now was a prime time to get the hell out of here as well.
"Don't be that way desu!"
Smiling as Riyo seemed to be happy with his little gift, Blade tilted his head at the everything. Then, shaking his head slightly he looked down at the dragon plush before speaking up.
"And thanks to you as well. Its not often I can actually kinda relate to someone..." he said softly before hesitating a bit, "If.. if you ever want to .. just hang out o-or something.. I'll be around school d-during break as well..."

Mitsu flinched slightly hearing her name being called. Head lowering she turned around slightly, nervous eyes settling on Desmond. Clutching her coat more tightly around her middle, Mitsu took another step back. "W...what is it, Desmond?" She tried to ask calmly but her voice stammered like she was scared. This encounter wasn't what she had in mind for the evening and she was by no means ready for it.

Desmond's eyes looked pained at her hesitance to talk to him, thinking back to how easy-going she'd been around him before the incident.
"I..." He faltered as he was about to speak, looking down at the ground nervously as he took the small box out of his coat pocket and slowly holding it out to her. "H-here. I don't expect you to forgive me, or want to have anything to do with me... But I got you this." His stomach clenched at the idea she might run away, suddenly thinking this wasn't a great idea. "I understand... If you end up not wanting it..."
Riyo couldn't help but smile a little more at his hesitance. "I'd like that Blade." She agreed, giving the cute kitty figurine one last look before she placed it in her pocket with care. "Anyways. the main reason I came in here was to lose Poke so I could go get drunk somewhere. Now that she's distracted, I think I'll be heading out." Riyo said quietly so she wasn't overheard, looking towards the door intently.
