Luka's eyes widened as the cobra spoke in a voice identical to his. "How can sound same?" He questioned, mind blown by Basil's ability. The Frei shook his head in agreement at Basil's interpretation of Elai. "Yes. Yes. Person. Tall, black and white. Wear black bar across eyes... sunglass?" What other features were particular to his guardian? "Black and white." Luka repeated, picturing his guardian in his mind's eye. Reaching up, he touched his bangs. "Here like Luka but," putting his hands on his head to touch the downy strands, he spoke. "Here like Del-ia. Long, black soft."

Luka wrung his wrists, suddenly feeling very agitated. His limited use of words was making the whole process much more difficult than it needed to be. "Jez-a-bro E-lai Fe-re-nan. Name. J-e-z-a-b-r-o-u-x E-l-a-i." He spelled out in the air. His pale hands reached down to stroke the tips of the long crème colored locks framing his boyish face. Suddenly, he found himself just wanting to be at home with his guardian watching a movie. "Delia, can speak like Bay-sil? Talk like Luka?"

The Cobra and Basilisk struck him as similar. If Basil could do something, then surely Cordelia could too.

Basil watched fixedly as the satyr explained, putting together an image for the others to follow, like a map with areas that had become worn or erased. If prompted, Basil could have easily assembled an image of his Genie, but the satyr spoke with what resembled frustration. He didn't quite have all the words for things, though he certainly tried. Basil was beginning to understand the importance of listening, although didn't feel the immediate need to apply his findings.

In his mind, he created a checklist of sorts. A schematic with which to compare and contrast the people that wandered by even now. Basil knew what it was to feel overwhelmed when lost. Out of the hundreds of people in this mall, bursting at the seams in the frenzy of the Holidays, there was one man that would claim this creature, that they were expected to find according to this list. His cognition was rusty at best, but what details he could not recall, he could expect Delia to produce. After all, what she if not his trusty gal-Friday?

It was then that he looked to her again, only to find her gawking uncomfortably.

Basil had never thought much about his habits, or his various talents. The things he did were those that came naturally, and what new ones he discovered rarely surprised him. He made a face at her, raising his eyebrows expectantly. Could she mimic voices? That would be something. He answered idly, "I don't know if she can. She can hiss real good." He then laughed earnestly, "Delia," He turned his body to her, "can you?"

Briefly Delia was brought back to the questions she'd asked of Luka moments before. Just as her male counter part was mentally sketching out an idea of what this man Elai may look from the young satyr's disjointed description, so was she. Black and white he kept repeating with emphasis on showing them it was the colors of his guardian's hair. Though not something as exotic as her own Ebby's lavender locks, it seemed different enough for them to be able to find Elai amongst the crowd. Yet...Cordelia's smoked colored orbs couldn't help, but slide back towards the massive crowd of holiday shoppers. They'd be crazy to try and search in such conditions themselves. The basilisk closed her eyes to think for a moment, what would Ebby do?

Half listening, half thinking, Delia was surprised again when Basil addressed her, now mimicking her own smokey voice. Instead of being utterly taken off guard as before, the dark Frei simply chuckled and clapped for her brother. He was quite talented to be able to replicate a voice as complex and raspy as hers. Then again he'd heard her voice a million times over by now, so it was probably easier than most for him.

To Luka's question, Delia shook her head. "I can't do anything as amazing as that. I have...other abilities." The hissing, of course as Basil had mentioned, yet others she was still unfamiliar with using, but knew were there just beneath the surface. Perhaps she ought to try and develop those powers more, but...she really hadn't found any reason to. Why push something that would eventually come to pass naturally?

"Is there anything you can do Luka?" She eyed the other boy with wonder and a certain amount of youthful anticipation.

"What is hissing?" The satyr asked, his head cocking lightly at the foreign term. Did he hiss? If it was something that Delia was good at then probably not. Luka had noticed the stark contrasts between him and the serpentine Raevans from the moment they had begun to speak. Delia and Basil were reminiscent of each other, Luka was himself. "Anything Luka do? Can color and spell, read simple letters. No speaking like Delia that Basil can do." There was plenty he could do, but those were the most significant. Besides, the only thing else he could think of aside from what he had already listed was being able to talk to the birds outside Elai's apartment, but he had the sinking feeling that it was quite useless compared to what Basil could do with his mimicking abilities.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw someone tall passing by in clothes similar to the ones Elai had worn and grabbed the passerby's sleeve without a second thought. When he spotted an elderly man's face instead of Elai's younger one, Luka mumbled an apology and turned back to Basil and Delia.

"Luka no remember number Elai said to learn." He fiddled nervously with his fingers, persimmon wings folding up against his back neatly only to flare out behind him. He couldn't stay still knowing that he had lost his guardian. It was strange how the disappearance of a single person could make such a huge impact on his level of comfort. Even though he was with Delia and Basil who seemed to know what they were doing, it wasn't the same as being with Elai. "Does Basil and Delia think can find Elai soon?" Even though he was trying his best not to show it, the words were laced with anxiety.

"It's a noise." Basil said bluntly, with what could only be described as a chilly bite of condescension. Most likely a tone Genie had imparted onto him, and regretfully so. After all, how could it be in Basil's nature to look down his nose at anyone? Much less someone scarcely as old as himself, and in dire straits? It was likely that his voice was not always fully indicative of his feelings. As he picked up various tones and inflections from others, unknowing of their impact, it only served to shroud his intentions in mystery. Assuming he had intentions at all... Given that the other Frei was becoming ever more aware of his personal isolation from the two serpents, it was a distinct possibility that Basil could only grow farther from him from here, unless, by the end of this, Basil had somehow done him some good, intentional or otherwise. Finding Luka's guardian would be a start.

All the while, Basil wore his smile like a comfortable garb. He seemed to be growing increasingly more eager to be involved than before, given Delia's helpful inclinations no doubt. Whether he wished to impress her, as was his alliance to her, or do a good act of his own volition, the outcome of this endeavor would say. He waved his hand emphatically towards Cordelia, adding, "She does it better." In his enthusiasm, the knife of his hand had very closely come into contact with the tip of poor Cordelia's nose. Thankfully, he narrowly avoided doing so.

Apparently in the interest of being useful, it was then that Basil drew his lips back, again unfurling the blades of his teeth. His rune shuddering as if in delight, he then began emitting the cobra's distinctive cry. A growling, gravelly note floating on a sinister whisper. Fewer sounds in nature could be more distinct, or cruel. However, comically interrupting the ghoulish mask of primality Basil now sported, he felt some sort of disturbance that broke the noise, and caused him to drool a bit on himself. Feeling the appropriate amount of embarrassment, though by no means mortified, Basil cupped his face, laughing. An odd sound. He wiped his face on his sleeve, and nodded his head to reaffirm his point, "Yeah ...She does it better."

Pushing aside his blunder with the ease with which he had overlooked Luka's (having been glancing elsewhere at the time he had grabbed the stranger's sleeve), he put his hand on the slope of Delia's shoulder, half gripping her upper-arm in a gentle hold, "He's scared. I hear it." Clearly, he hadn't given much thought as to whether or not this declaration would embarrass or offend their charge, continuing, "We'll go. Find his Elai... How do you always find my Genie?" As to be expected, Basil's memory was paper-thin and spotted with inconsistencies. Not even once had Cordelia ever been directly responsible for his being returned to his guardian, though this was not to say she was incapable of doing so. Rather, through a series of madcap experiences (though suitably bonding), Basil had seemed to return to the Gregarious Arms again and again, by sheer dumb luck. However, he could only assume when in doubt, Cordelia had always meant him well, and was the only logical solution to areas in which he could not fully recall. His admiration for her was frank, and unguarded. He pressed her, "Hm?"

That noise of which her scaled brethren and their new acquaintance were chatting about was what slipped past her lips briefly as Basil nearly whacked his overly animated hand into her face. It was just in time that she'd slid back, narrowly escaping the collision, yet managing to mutter a quick 'hey watch it' in parseltongue to the cobra. Since Basil seemed to be the only other being other than actual snakes to speak this strange language of hissing (or at the most, understand it), it was only natural that Cordelia would want to speak with it more when around the other serpentine Frei. It somehow felt right after all.

Just when she was getting over the whole almost getting smacked in the face thing, the glass Raevan just had to show off some for Luka and produced a most horrendous sound. Perhaps horrendous is an over-exaggeration, yet to Delia that's what it sounded like. Something about this sort of hissing pulled at her core and made her instantly overprotective of Basil then. Instinctively, the basilisk pulled closer towards him, her eyes rather reptilian and darting about as if danger was close by. It wasn't until Baz's hand came to grip upon her shoulder did she snap out of it and calm, realizing that nothing was wrong. Strange, she was worried for nothing.

"Uh..." shaking off the last of her previous anxiety, of which now she was hoping Basil had not heard since he'd just said he could hear Luka's feelings of being scared, Cordelia tried flashing an uneasy smile to reassure the white haired satyr. "Yes! Of course, don't worry Luka. We'll get you back to Elai. No problem!"

No problem she'd said. Ugh, Delia could just kick herself if she'd had legs. Hurriedly, she whipped her head around in search of an answer to their dilemma. Just when she was wishing she wasn't the oldest Raevan here or that perhaps Ebby should have come no matter what condition the woman was in at the moment, the smokey femme was granted a sign. No it wasn't a magical or spiritual thing, but a physical sign that denoted where the mall's information desk was and in which direction. She remembered before when Basil was lost that first time they'd meet, Ebby had taken them to something like that where they'd called for Genie and then the three waited for her. And she'd come! The same had to hold true here and now right?

Grabbing both boys hands, Cordelia quickly took off in the direction of the arrows. As they slithered through the crowd, the girl explained, "We'll go to the information desk and they'll call for your Elai, Luka. We'll wait there and he's sure to come!" She was so positive her brilliant plan would pay off that an elated giggled escaped her dark lips.
